You are definitely not overreacting. My 12 year old daughter and I experienced very similar but ended way worse. So I was at the time a full time working single mum. My best friend who was more like a sister helped out as my daughter was going through a tough time and was self harming. She was being bullied. So when I worked my friend watched her. Unbeknownst to me, she often left her with her husband. No big deal, we've known each other for many many years, I felt safe, knowing she had a father figure for those times. My ex was a piece of work who barely played any part in my kids life. I digress. At some point between 2005 and 2016 my best friend told me her husband and her where having troubles, she had found disturbing stuff on their shared computer. I did not get told this till after covid. 2 years ago my daughter told me he r×××d her multiple times. My 25 year old daughter is now traumatised. Don't ignore the early signs

I have this exact thing in my town. There's a women with special needs who always says hello to my husband when we are out in the local pubs, I just laugh it off when I see her heading our way, tell him his girlfriend is here, cause I'm not insecure in our relationship. We find it hilarious.

My ex husband was the loser dad. Left us for the baby sitter. Married her and had a son. This was 20 years ago. He saw the kids a handful of times since then. Has not spoken to them since 2018, despite our daughter having a terminal illness. My new husband treats them as if they were his since 2016, as I do with his daughter. My kids still live at home at the ages of 25 and 24. Hubby is great with that. Our youngest (my step daughter) lives with her mum around the corner but has a key to her second home. We have 3 kids. Not my 2 and his 1. We have 3. It's not easy blending families, but our kids did not ask for this so it's up to us as adults to make things work. You are an amazing dad. 👏

I have multiple disabilities one of them is a chronic pain condition. My sister turned her back on me earlier this year cause I couldn't do something for one day due to this and . Walk away now, the stress will. Make things worse.

We are in the UK. My daughter has a paralysed stomach, dysfunctional digestive system and early stages of heart failure. She’s 24. Without her medical alert dog she would be housebound as it’s not safe for her to go out alone. He is fully certified and trained, he barks 3 high pitched ones to alert before she drops to the floor. Well she would literally drop if he didn’t give her that warning. We get asked to sit elsewhere in places, and it’s fine. The only time we ask for additional accommodations is if there is a specific dog friendly area as it can be overwhelming and distracting. I agree that a lot of people have made it nigh on impossible for actual medical alert dogs, as every Tom d**k and harry wants their pooch with them all the time but it makes it so hard for my daughter to have a life. Her dog is also tolerance trained. Any nervous dog or person and one word from my daughter and he will back away, tuck close to her walking frame or wheelchair and actually not look at them.
