Lainey Molnar is back on Bored Panda with even more thought-provoking illustrations. With her art, she challenges and explores societal norms surrounding femininity, body image and more.
The artist creates empowering comics that resonate with women from around the world. "I personally believe that important or heavy topics are processed in a straightforward way - with just a few words - and with colorful and fun drawings it’s easier to relate to and connect over. I always mean to start conversations more than make statements, this content is as much about the individual stories and opinions shared in comments as the illustration itself," Lainey shared with Bored Panda.

This hits really hard. I struggle to open up to people, but people always come to me with their problems because I'm supportive. And I'm glad! But sometimes its hard. (Trigger warning!) I recently tried to put up boundaries for the first time (!) when a friend came complaining to me. I told her kindly that she was valid, but I didn't have the emotional capacity to help her right now, and that I had to focus on me first. Her reply? "Fine. I guess I'll just go kill myself then." It was triggering for me.
I'm so sorry, that's such a f****d-up thing to say, especially to someone who's triggered by it. It can be hard to set boundaries, and it's not fair at all for her to respond like that. I've known people who pretended to in a worse place mentally than they actually were, just to "fit in" or get attention, and it feels really awful, especially when you've struggled with similar issues. <3
Load More Replies...This is me. If you're in the US and need to talk to someone, dial 988. It's like 911 just for folks needing some mental health help.
This. I don't know why this isn't broadcasted and plastered everywhere like 911 once was. Solid advice friend :) thank you for posting!
Load More Replies...i look like i need Special Ed but really i need therapy (thankfully i am also getting therapy
Literally me....until I got off my butt and was honest with my doctor about not being okay....escitalopram prescription...six weeks later I'm proud to say I am okay! :) There is no shame in asking for help when you're not okay!
The pain of constantly being the 'Therapist' friend. I've been through this for so long and am only now finding friends that I can also lean on.
This is the moment that I realized that I may be a little bit too much of a therapy friend
"I don't want to stop feeling emotions, I want them to be acknowledged by someone important to me"
But sometimes self-care can look like and be self-centeredness.... it's quite a balance to strike.
Top 4th hair, middle 1st clothes, bottom 2nd shape (and boots!). That's me.
What’s the pink thing on the lower right she’s holding in her left hand?
i love lainey molnar! i was actually going through all of the old bp posts with her comics last week
In the time it took me to read these, BP changed the headline...
No hate, but isn't our population going to decrease because no one's having babies? Again, no hate just wondering.
