Dogs Love Bacon is a weekly webcomic that follows the lives of two rescue dogs and their human. The comic came about at the end of 2020 to try and bring some cheer to readers...and keep the artist drawing. A new dog has recently joined the pack for a stay, and there are even more antics afoot. Check out my previous comics here.

It hit me after the fact that I did not include my "Doodle Time" addition into this one. After the comic, I did a doodle about the squirrel trying to help Tribble. https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/dogs-love-bacon/53-tribbles-confidence/viewer?title_no=621557&episode_no=54
My dog is scared of cats but she tried to chase a pack of coyotes last time we went on a hike 🤦🏽♀️. I had to pick her up and run to the car lol
I’ve had older cats who taught a new kitten how “to cat”, so this makes perfect sense to me.
My roommate got a puppy named Rebel and my older dog Lucy has been teaching her how to dog. Rebel has started to pick up a lot of Lucy's mannerisms. They're best friends now and it's adorable!
Load More Replies...lol my cat does that too-he won't be chased though he'll just run away
My dog before she sadly passed away about a month ago was actually really good with this. She waited untill you would tell he to get it, we even left the house and left a half eaten cake on the couch and came back to it still being there, as a reward my mother gave it to her. She was just about to turn three this month aswel.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing one of your memories with us.
Load More Replies...I have 4 of these full blooded Jacks. They're insane, crazy and absolutely the lives of my life. Each one has their own quirks and each one has me wrapped around their little paws. My oldest, Toby, is "the gentleman" (also the destroyer of everything he touches), my "twins" are Charlie (my baby boy) and Lovie (mama- she's pregnant with Toby's babies), and Mila is the literal baby at 6 months and sets her own rules (like, she has a set bedtime, and if you don't put her in her crate, she'll run there at 730 pm on the dot, snuggle under her blanket and literally turn away from everyone.)
My husky did this so I had to train her to sit and stay until I finished lol because her head would get soaked
I HAVE A JACK RUSSELL TERRIER AND I TOOK A PICTURE OF HIM AND MADE IT MY PFP
My son and daughter-in-law have a half Weiner dog, half Jack Russell and every time he see's grandma no matter how many hours I'm there we have to play fetch. Then yesterday after we had an about an eight hour get together about seven hours in he comes over gets on my lap and falls asleep. Jack Russell's have super human amounts of energy and they are usually miserable if they don't get the chance to expell that energy daily. They tend to get depressed after some time.
My dog used to make a particular sound that specifically told me he had to go outside. Then he got older and realized he always got attention when he made that sound, so he started making it every time he saw me, even if he didn’t need to go potty, or eat, or anything vital. In fact, he’ll make that sound then just lay down and go to sleep, so it’s no longer a useful signal. It’s frustrating, because I relied on that signal for so many years. Now I never know what he’s really asking for.
My baby, her name is Aurora but she goes by Rory, she makes little stompies so her nails tap dance on the hardwood. And she'll pace. And then make tiny "woos" and stare. She'll make what she wants known, regardless of whether you're sleeping or not. And if they have a tinkle accident? It's just an accident.
Corgi and Jack Russell mix. ^_^ He has the bottomless corgi stomach paired with the obsessive JRT brain.
Load More Replies...I thought Thor was a corgi - which I found amusing... that these might be illustrations of a Thorgi.
That was the pun intended, but when we realized he was half JRT, it became Thorgi-Part-Corgi.
Load More Replies...OMG!! My dog has the same face as Thor. When I adopted her, they told me she was a Chiweenie (Chihuahua and Dachshund) but I just couldn't see the dachshund in her. I always felt she had some sort of Terrier. Now I'm definitely convinced lol.
She keeps having nightmares about Thor having accidents. So she decides to take him out, but he doesn't want to go because he's sleeping.
Load More Replies...Gah I know that feeling, my dogs litter box trainer and we keep it in the garage. He'll bark when he needs to go. But when he is real quiet I'm like "It's too quiet..."
We live in an old house, and periodically after we’ve turned the heat on in cold weather, a wasp will emerge from somewhere we can’t locate and start flying around inside. Our youngest cat, Tabitha, is a natural born bug tracker and catcher, who also, unfortunately, eats what she catches. I dread the day I’m not there to intervene when she starts tracking one of those off season wasps before she tries to eat it and gets stung. She’s two years old, but only the size of a half grown kitten, and just doesn’t realize that the amount of venom in a fully loaded wasp stinger could potentially do more than just give her a fat lip. We just can’t find their point of entry, and we have tried for years.
Maybe you should try calling profesionals to track them.
Load More Replies...My last German Shepard did this to a skunk. One time and one time only. ;)
When I was 10 my Boxer got sprayed by a skunk. It was disgusting! I can still remember the smell 24 years later lol. And the tomato soup bath we gave him afterwards was also gross 😆
Load More Replies...This! My oldest Jack, Toby, is the ringleader of trouble (he's also "the gentleman", but only Bc he waits so patiently for treats, doesn't mind the others eating before him and knows I'm going to reward him generously for his good behavior), and inevitably, he gets the others into messes. Like, he'll find a mud hole and get the others to play in it, but he won't and I swear he finds pleasure in our faces when we see what's happened and that he has zero mud on him.
my dog happens to cycle through all three types. takes less than 10 minutes, haha.
Mine are obsessed with my feet! It's weird- one wants to lick them, one wants to nibble on them, one flat out bites them (Mila when I'm not paying attention to her) and Charlie is fending the others off me like he's my knight in shining armor. He is, but it's cute that he feels I need defending lol
I have a dog that is #2 and #3 at the same time if I put anything on her. 😅
I….must…not….give….in….. Awwwwww Awwwwww Awwwwww Awwwwww Awwwwww (failed.)
I will have to shamefully admit that I spent the better part of my morning trying to consider how boxers, as in the underwear, could make this worse. Then I had my epiphany and smacked myself. ^_^'
Load More Replies...Kids or animals, there’s no such thing as privacy—-and don’t even think simply closing the door solves the problem. Au contraire, it actually makes it worse, because it immediately escalates it to DEFCON 1.
My Lily does not tolerate the door close. She will get off the couch, walk across the room, and push the door open...and latching the door, so she can't open it, will result it sniffing, and crying. I keep telling her I'm not going to crawl out the window. Then, if I am there longer, she brings me toys with which to play fetch.
I don't know if all pitbulls do this, but my dog will cry at the door, open it, peek inside, grin, and run away. If you close the door again he'll open and do it all over again
Oh, yes all three oy mine must make sure I'm safe while doing my business after all vim with them while they are taking care of theirs
My dogs do this allllllll the time! (Mainly with my parakeets feathers)
imagine 5 cats and a dog... always counting when the door is open for too long!
God help me, 15 cats, IN COUNTING Edit: 21 cats now, just had a new litter. Y'all want some cats?
Lol, same with my 17 chickens.... It get scary when you count one or two less... (they ended up in the neighbors yard and their dog grabbed one o-o)
Oh, wake up at 1:00 wondering if someone snuck out side and was waiting for me to let them in.
And they will stare at you until you Do The Right Thing.
Load More Replies...5pm rolls around and it's "DINNY TIME! NOT LATER! RIGHT THIS MINUTE!" and if it doesn't happen she flops down with a giant sigh
Aww she's deaf. My parents dog is deaf but so sweet. And she understands a bit of sign language now.
Ugh. This one made me so sad. Sounds like your parents dog is doing OK though so that's awesome!
Load More Replies...Yup, I took her to the vet and learned that she lost most of her hearing. Thankfully, some of my Instagram readers offered tips on how to help her out.
Load More Replies...We had two cats that became deaf as they aged. It's very easy to adapt to a deaf pet
My brother worked for the US Embassy in Mexico and an old lady with no family passed away and left her large black cat behind. So my brother dropped it off with us. She was the sweetest thing except when you would pet her from behind or when she was napping... She would VICIOUSLY attack you. I ended up finding out she was deaf whilst I was vacuuming. Everything made sense after that because she had the habit of meowing extremely low or extremely high lol.
My li'l ol' lady kitty has gone slowly deaf and honestly not much has changed except she doesn't come when called, but she does tend to stay in the same room with me so if I need her attention, I bang my crutch really hard on the floor. We've (she and I) decided that works, lol.
Load More Replies...One of my dogs is coming up on 12 and has significant age-related hearing loss. Waking her up requires a lot more gentleness than when she was younger.
Took me a moment to understand. Poor baby. Glad she has a loving home!
Just like human babies, puppies and kittens—-all baby animals for that matter—-have to grow and develop the muscle control to hold their pee and poop til they can get outside. We put diapers on human babies for the very same reason, and don’t enforce potty training until they have that same ability. Of course, if there’s no dog door or person to let them out, even fully mature dogs will become desperate and no longer able to hold it, but that’s their human’s fault, not nature’s.
Yup, both Taz and Tribble are puppy-mill rescues, where they were kept in dirty cages and never learned to hold it. It took a while to teach a much younger Taz, who understood what was needed, but needed to build up the control to do it. Tribble was likely abused and bred until she could no longer breed, and I think she may not be capable of fully developing that control. (she is doing better though!)
Load More Replies...Is the white one a Lethal White Aussie? We lost ours last year. She was the best and will always be missed.
I am sorry for your loss. The white one here is (was) a 17-year old American Eskimo. We lost her, but I put a halo on her because I couldn't bring myself to edit her out.
Load More Replies...I’ve got a deaf senior as well. I hate waking him when he’s sleeping so soundly. But … I must sometimes. It makes me feel soooooo guilty. Lol.
Every day dog and cat hair both. I love them to much to care-their better than people who don't know what personal space is
Growing up my Mom had Shelties, and for a time they had three. When my Grandpa would go to work they would ask if he had a dog they'd ask how many.
I own a reactive dog.. he was abused and dumped. He has PTSD and does not do well with strangers. Most of the kids here think I should put him down or keep him caged... You are acting like jerks.
That's disgusting. I wish people wouldn't look down just because they're animals. If a human had the same problem they'd get help.
Load More Replies...I don't get all this negativity here. I don't have an aggressive dog and I have a huge problem with people who take aggressive dogs out in public and aren't responsible. But that's not what's happening here. We can clearly see that the other dog owner has their dog secure as well and she is just giving a heads up to make sure all the dogs are safe. Dogs with an unfortunate history deserve to be out too, otherwise how would they ever learn. This is just making a joke that they got tangled up in the leashes so are beyond secure. Calm down folks.
My friend has a dog who hates people and one who hates other dogs. Takes them out for walks daily
Load More Replies...My dog is a rescue. Kids think she's cute and start running towards us. Other people think it's fine to let their dogs off leash, when it's not a dog park. Once adopted she's family. It's not my or her fault she had a abusive start in life. Puppy age is especially important. I went to lessons and socialized her. She just thinks the world is out to hurt her. I keep her on a leash. I should be able to safely and calmly enjoy walks. Just because other dogs are "friendly" isn't an excuse to be irresponsible. I've had dogs be aggressive towards me that are "friendly". I'm especially sick of small dog owners that think their dogs should run free at all times. They would probably sue me once my dog bites out of fear. Act like it's her fault for their responsibility. My neighbor keeps letting their dog run the neighborhood. It barks and thinks our yard is it's territory.
Having an unsocializzed dog is a pain in the ass. Ignorant people dont make that any better. I appreciate this comic showing people just being chill
I mean at least they gave a warning though.... If you're gonna be rude enough to walk around with an agressive dog in a public area, it's better to have the people that will warn you BEFORE anything happens than the belated "Oh yeah, he's agressive but I'm not a fan of leashes."
Load More Replies...? Did she only say that because she saw your dog acting up a bit?
It's really sweet to see all five dogs and their people out getting to enjoy themselves. I love the ease and courtesy of the interaction. I've never posted a comment or reaction to anything online, but this comic is so heartwarming that I registered for the site just to say how moving I find it
shhh.. just ignore the human in the background on this peaceful day
Everything is a snack until proven otherwise - dog philosophy
Load More Replies...OMG ! This has me cracking up out loud. My dogs think I’m a kook. As I have 1 laying on me and 2 looking up at me from their beds. Lol.
I’d say it’s a dust bunny, but I don’t know. If it’s entirely made of dog hair, shouldn’t it be called “dust puppy” instead? Not to mention “dust kitten” for cat hair!
One time when I didnt have my glasses on I thought a leaf on the floor was a dog turd. I even gagged when I went to.pick it up.......
Ok but who else just smacks anything with your bear hands or a flip flop if it looks remotely like a bug
The only way to get my dogs attention is to ask him if he wants some food, or say you have food. We love our little caca:) (his real name is copper)
My dad hit a squill one b/c it was very indecisive. We heard a k-thunk as he ran over it. So loud-
Load More Replies...LOL one more proof that living with a dog is as weird as living with a cat, only that this dog mom has a lot of adventures outdoors.
For some reason, I thought it was a drawing of a flower on the rug. Lol!
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR MAKING MORE OF THESE COMICS! PLEASE CONTINUE TO DO SO
What a way to start the day... chuckling away to myself agreeing with most and relating to my German shepherd. I have forwarded them to my husband who will be finishing his nightshift very soon with a big smile after he has seen them too. Thankyou, happy Easter to all and their fur babies x
