40 Pictures Showing Growth Comparison Of Dogs As Puppies And As Adults In These Combined Photos That I Made
My name is Mandy Helwege and I am the founder of Seeing Double Edits. I guess if you want to know how SDE came to be, you have to know a little of my backstory. My whole life I have loved everything as it relates to animals and art. I grew up riding horses, learned to draw by tracing horses and orcas out of books I got from the library as a child, and for basically my whole life have preferred to be in the company of animals over people.

I also gotta mention how amazing the resolution is. All these pictures are of the highest quality 👌🏼 I’m sure all the editing helped, but it’s also the cameras these days that are high quality too, and it amazes me, so I felt I’d give that an honorable mention. Ain’t nothin’ like seeing crystal clear, crisp photos; especially of a certain kind of beauty

I was in my early teens the first time I ever met a Great Dane and I was 30 years old when my dream of having one came true.
Elliott came home in May of 2017 and, to document her rapid growth, I took a gazillion photos and started an Instagram for her as a way to share those photos somewhere other than Facebook. (I didn’t need to drive my friends crazy with my obsession with my dog).
It was early 2018 the first time I saw someone do one of these edits. At the time Elliott was just shy of her first birthday and, like most people, I just thought it was the most heartwarming thing I had ever seen and I needed to have one done of her.
😍 I’d be the first in line to adopt all 4 of these beautiful dogs, as fellow panda and commenter Loverboy said, they’re a family, and a beautiful family ❤️ The most props (or “credit”) goes to the photographer/publisher for their incredible skills to be able to produce this image. I’d frame it and hang it up, that’s how spectacular I think it is
OMGOURDZ look at that grumpy little one! So much personality! Definitely gonna be strong willed, that's for sure! 😂
They're the same dog, all of the adult animals are also the younger ones.

So I asked the person who had shared their edit if they would do one for me because seeing her as a 12lb puppy next to the 125lb dog she became would be the most incredible thing. They agreed and I sent the photos I thought would work best and then waited with anticipation to receive the image back.
I was super appreciative of the time that went into the piece but was disappointed in the results because little effort had been made to make adjustments to color, lighting, or blur to bring the two images together into one, and appeared as though the puppy photo had just been pasted into the adult photo.
Bernese Mountain Dogs - Berner Sennenhund in German. My mother-in-law here in Switzerland has had them her entire life. The boys can grow to 70kgs, the girls about 55kg.
I have one husky puppy named nyx she is the cutest little thing and has one blue eye and one blank one that dosn't work
I figured with the years of photography and Photoshop experience I had in addition to my formal art education that maybe I could do it myself but see if I could blend the two together in a realistic way.
Those early edits weren’t anything like what they are today, but I loved creating them for my own dogs and sharing them with others. People absolutely loved them and requests from friends to have me do one of their dog started coming in and then strangers started offering to pay me to do one for them and eight months after doing my first transformation edit of my Great Dane, Seeing Double Edits was born.
Had three as a kid, or rather my parents did. They all died way too early sadly. Great dogs, brave and loyal and ours were great with kids. They were all smart and crazy energetic which is actually a problem unless you keep them busy, because they'll get bored easily and get into trouble. Our last one was really smart, but amazingly stupid at the same time. If you tossed a rock into the creek he'd dive in after it and come back with the same rock >_<

I spent nearly three years doing a few on the side of my full-time insurance sales job and in late 2021 was finally able to quit that sales job and pursue this full-time.
To date, I’ve done more than 1300 of these transformation edits for pet owners on every continent outside Antarctica and it is truly my greatest honor to be able to use the talents and passion/love I have for animals to create these special pieces for others.
SDE is the most random but perfect combination of not only my passion and love for animals but the unique set of skills I have developed over more than a decade as an artist and I hope to be able to continue to create them for others for many years to come.
Anybody knows the breed of this dog? Is this some kind of a husky or shepherd? I love it’s features, and love it’s color as well. Another dog with gorgeous eyes too
Although we think of Huskies as being black and white, this is a red (I think) Husky. My friend from work had one and her name was Rouge.
"When I grows up, I'mma play in the water all day long!" .... "See! Told ya so!' 😭🥰
Does anyone know the breed of this one? I saw a puppy of this recently in the real world and just about lost my mind with the cuteness and coloring
I love GSD puppies. They never seem to know how to control their ears 🙂
I love the way they turn their heads and their ear goes FLOOP
It’s the same dog, so he has the same markings as a baby and adult. ^^

Not exactly... it's the same cat. They didn't really explain well in the title or description. But all of these photos are the animal when they're a baby, then when they're older, overlayed together in some flawless photoshop editing and digital artwork to make one photo.

It's a Swiss Shepherd and yes they are gorgeous animals!

That adult reminds me of my B-boy!! He passed last year at age 21. Missing you 💖.
Awww I know how you feel. My sweet cat crossed the rainbow bridge when he was 20.

Daddy, you need to get on a diet and routine exercise program. Your arm is falling into your shoulder there a little bit...that cant be comfortable.
that's not all ways the case these are cane corsos and their ear grow up as they get older
Load More Replies...Cropping ears is not nearly as bad as docking the tail. The ears are just cartilage. The tail is the end of the spinal cord and the backbone. I've also noticed that people who badmouth cropping ears have never actually been around puppies whose ear have been cropped. I've seen hundreds of Dobie puppies with their ears cropped and they couldn't care less. A Doberman puppy's one aim in life is to get his own way and ear cropping isn't something that phases them. The most important thing about ear cropping is the aftercare of the ears. If you don't take care of the ears after cropping, that's when problems start. People who are against ear cropping are making things bad for breeds of dogs that have cropped ears. Because so few vets are taught how to crop ears today, many of them do a terrible job and have no idea of the aftercare that's involved. I really wish people would take the time to learn about things before badmouthing them.
Hey, I thought these were all supposed to be photos of animals? How did a picture of a big 'ole baby make it onto the list? 🤨😏😂🥰
It's the same dog, well it's portraying the same dog
Load More Replies...This is an AMAZING concept! I have a GSD mix who had distemper as a puppy - he was not expected to survive, as distemper has an 80% mortality rate in puppies. He pulled through and turned one year old recently. He has severe neurological disabilities as a result of the distemper, but he has no idea he's different and loves life. I've signed up for the July queue for an edit of him ;)
What a beautiful story!! I can’t wait to see what we come up with for you!
