I'm Bûbûche, a 24-year-old artist from France. I can't really remember a time in my life where I didn't doodle, scribble, or messed around with a pencil. From sketches in a random school notebook, video game fan arts, cathartic musings on paper, I would just draw wherever I could and whenever I had free time. I still do.
The many voices of "reason" who advised against art studies got to me, and I never pursued any art formation. I should have. After 3 years of English at university, I gave up my studies and started looking for small jobs. I now juggle with two at a time, so that I can buy art supplies and, obviously, eat. I'm not complaining. I know one day I'll be able to live from my illustrations, and I'm ready to work for it.
My thing is color. I can add layers of Prismacolor pencils onto paper for hours and never get bored. You can never have enough shade or light. Staying focused on something you're passionate about is truly almost therapeutic. To each their own emotional outlets, as they say. Wish me luck, I decided to live from my own.

I love there uniqueness and I notice that the only recurring feature of any of the pieces were the sesame seed eyes, most of which had no whites in their eyes. I am curious as to what these drawings are inspired from, as I noticed a mixture of humans and animals.

And that's why you should never listen to negative advice from people who think they have made it in their profession. They have the habit to tell others if they are 'going to make it or not' in their line of work. This because 'they did', and are now for some reason entitled to take away dreams from people who they think are not good enough. Like they know s**t... Do what you love, don't let others talk you down and work hard to become whatever you want to be. Others do not decide if you can do things or not.. you do. I think your drawings are beautiful, thank you for posting 😊

Fantastic! This hits home for me, I was advised the same (though mostly to get stable health insurance) and sometimes very much regret it (thinking I could try drawing on the side until that took off... Turns out I picked a career that leaves no time for extra). I'm 35 now. Your style is so very similar to mine it's uncanny (of course I'm not as accomplished though! And I prefer black paper). Can't help but wonder if you have the same callouses I used to get from mashing prismas into paper! Keep it up!!!

I love this so so much. As a (try to be anyways) budding artist myself, my one problem is never coloring anything in. I love how the ethereal theme fits in with the geometrical stuff! Good luck :)
