I Was Advised Against Art Studies But Now I’m A Self-Taught Illustrator (15 Pics)

I'm Bûbûche, a 24-year-old artist from France. I can't really remember a time in my life where I didn't doodle, scribble, or messed around with a pencil. From sketches in a random school notebook, video game fan arts, cathartic musings on paper, I would just draw wherever I could and whenever I had free time. I still do.
The many voices of "reason" who advised against art studies got to me, and I never pursued any art formation. I should have. After 3 years of English at university, I gave up my studies and started looking for small jobs. I now juggle with two at a time, so that I can buy art supplies and, obviously, eat. I'm not complaining. I know one day I'll be able to live from my illustrations, and I'm ready to work for it.
My thing is color. I can add layers of Prismacolor pencils onto paper for hours and never get bored. You can never have enough shade or light. Staying focused on something you're passionate about is truly almost therapeutic. To each their own emotional outlets, as they say. Wish me luck, I decided to live from my own.

Yes, good vibes go your way from me a self taught human to be a good person and your art work is great. Good luck on keeping it going through ups and downs. You will make it.
I love there uniqueness and I notice that the only recurring feature of any of the pieces were the sesame seed eyes, most of which had no whites in their eyes. I am curious as to what these drawings are inspired from, as I noticed a mixture of humans and animals.
For the eyes, I think I never got over Thane Krios from Mass Effect. I like how otherworldly they make the characters. I like making everything abstract enough so that the viewer can imagine their own story about what they see. As for inspiration, there are so many sources, I really couldn't find them all but uh... Dark Crystal, Mucha, a french artist called Moon I highly recommend, etc.
Thank You! And I really loved your drawings! They were beautiful!
Very original and cool. It's never too late to make art!
they look cool but strange
