Hello! My name is Beanie and I do cartoon drawings about my daily life as well as stories from my childhood and post them on Instagram.
I started drawing webcomics about my childhood memories to remind myself of the good things that happened in my life. Drawing these has helped me reconnect with that part of me that could find happiness in little moments of everyday life.
Check out my Instagram for more of these funny comics about my childhood as well as about awkward situations being an adult, life with my equally awkward but cute partner, and my previous post on Bored Panda about my love for dogs.

Learning To Read
I learned when I was three also. I really excelled as a child.
Load More Replies...Cat Friend
I loved our cat Rosa SO much but was much too energetic and crazy for the poor cat to handle at first. I was more used to playing with dogs but once I learnt the right approach we got along very well.
I wish my cat did that...my cat was so senile 'til the second she died
Yes! This is exactly the kind of behavior we should be encouraging kids to adopt around animals! Please have this conversation with your kids for the safety of both the animal and the child.
First Dog
A sappy one today. I recently found a picture of Amanda (I was in a habit of calling dogs human names) and got very sentimental. I know a lot of you have special connections with your current pets and the ones that you grew up with so I felt like it might resonate. I think Amanda taught me a lot about kindness and love as a child. Pets are so good.
they are truly our greatest friends bonding in ways we dont under stand
Load More Replies...my dog died when she was eleven, the first person she'd bite was me, only when I looked at her puppies
aww this reminds me of my cat elaine she died last year rip
Every kid deserves a pet. It should be on the book of the kids right.
That my dog too with been together in my life until he gone now, now i go to my bedroom and see my little angel
Dress Up
i was a werewolf for our 2nd grade halloween party at kegonsa elementary
Hallways
I just T-pose while walking down dark hallways to show the monsters that I am the supreme being of this household.
my mom told me the monsters were her friends to protect me lol me and my sister thought mom was devil queen or something XD
i remember when i was little i would have these stairs and at night the light switch was right next to the stair case and i would turn off the light and run up the stairs and everytime my mom grabbed a bat and thought someone broke in the house because of me being so loud stomping u the stairs
*me when i turn out the lights in my room and try to get into bed before either John Kramer, Freddy Kreuger, Jason Vorhees, or some random space monkey kills me*
First Snow Encounter
I don’t actually remember this because I was TOO small but it is a story my Papa likes to tell about my first snow encounter. He put me down on the ground for just a second and I immediately stepped away and rolled down a hill.
heavenly lights brightens the positive minds of children to do funny things that keep you in shape i was a ninja a climber and berzerker never got hurt even when ladder fell on me i was never faze by it just joyful that im invincble so dont beat your children just say just glad your okay and kindness hugs for family and well being of your relationship with your family with out last the bad times love will embrace kindness love to our world of family positivity farewell and may my kind words bring joy to your lives

The Mummy
Once, somebody lent my sister The Mummy DVD(with Brandon Fraser) and we watched it together one stormy night. I actually loved the movie (it’s still one of my cheesy faves), but sometimes I got a little spooked. I think the way she dealt with it to make me feel less scared was very sweet.
yes truly embrace kindness for those who need it and those who dont love and kindness always solves our worlds problems and may my wise words enlight your world to love and pma positive mental adittude fare well
Load More Replies...I still do it to myself sometimes :P I imagine how the technitians achieved this effect, i imagine the person behind the costume sweating buckets, etc... I racionalize, and try to imagine the reality behind the scene
there are some movies where ya just can't do that Saw: Oh no, very thick Kool-Aid is exploding out of my face and it tastes great!
ha ha she trying to make it not scary!!! What a good sister, my brother could learn from her.
Hello, you have an amazing sister, I hope you kept your friendship as you grew older. I think your very lucky to have such siblings 😊
Ice-Cream
A Baby Beanie memory with my Papa. I don’t think there was actually any dogs around to eat it the vanilla ice cream (and probably good because I don’t think ice cream is good for them?) but I think it’s funny that I was so easily consoled by the prospect of my ice cream going to one.
That's adorable. And your father should give lessons on how to get a child smiling again.
That is so sweet that your Dad said that to you! Makes all the difference in the world to a kid! :)
Lucky you, my mom would prob just be like "suck it up! I'm not buying you another one."
yes kindness and positivity of childs mind is amazing truly special
Load More Replies...if that ever happened to me my dad would be like "shoulda been more careful dude"
Dogs can have ice cream but obviously not to much just a little bit my dog loves the sweet treat
Sneaking Up
Wish my dad was like that but we only ran to the door and hug him because his job took a lot of time out of our fam time
Looking Around For Snails
Drawing this comic made me very nostalgic for those sunny days in the garden and looking around for snails. I sometimes made them little houses from leaves and flowers.
We are gathered here for the workshop, how to increase your velocity and become faster like me, going down a snow hill.
We are gathered here today to join in ritual sacrifice of Joe. Joe, would you please step up to the alter please?
My mom still likes to tell people how I would gather all the snails I could find onto the porch. Play with them until I was bored. And then crush them on the porch before going inside. Little me was kind of a jerk
When I was a kid, I used to collect small cockroaches and close them up in empty Pond's cold cream containers. I would keep the containers near my pillow. I would check on them the next morning and I don't remember hurting them but long story short my parents soon discovered my weird hobby and put an end to end. PS: Now I have an OCD if one happens to lands on me and makes me clean myself forever.
Awake
I was (like most kids) a child with way too much energy which promptly disappeared when I got to my teens. Now as a perpetually tired adult I wish I had a bit of that bounciness back.
i'm now like that, one time at 5 in the morning on a wednesday as a kid, i literally woke up my mom and dad with a toy microphone
My grandma bought 2 toy microphones for me and my little sister
Load More Replies...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to get up at like 6:30 but then I hit puberty and got up only when focred to. I got up at 10 on weekends(otherwise my mom would yell so much) and I never got out of bed early enough on school days. good thing we lived close enough that I didn't need the bus, because I would have missed it every time.
Candy
In my opinion, I don't think it's the sugar making you hyper. It's the ANTICIPATION of the sugar.
Me with literally anything that has sugar and caffeine or just high amount of onw
Sick Beard
That feeling when your Mama stops to talk to someone on the street and it takes so long that you age 1 million years and grow a sick beard.
when your mom sees a friend in the supermarket maneuver-5...3ce5f7.jpg
That's me with my hubbie. Something you could do in 5min he does it in 45min. (Doing the stuff in 5 and then chatting for like a century...) I still love him tho <3
Baby Logic
me with my older sister "Sissy, is this cup empty" her "No, put it in the sink" *pours water over sister anyways
Birthday Bunny
Sleep-Talker
I’m a serial creepy sleep-talker hahaha. I also got up in the middle of the night and stood over people’s beds ominously (which I can only imagine how “fun” that would be for the sleeping person).
aww yes hello what you need tiny satan spawn?? literally something my mom has said to me when I was young
I scared my sister one night, i just sat up from the floor and said "imma die" (we shared a room)
I once said "GET OUT OF THERE THE CHICKENS ARE AFTER YOU" and then later that same night said "ain't nobody here but us demon chickens" in a monotone voice
My mom says that when I was younger I would sleep walk to my parents room, sit on the floor and stare at them.
Star Wars
Another one with my sister and Star Wars!
When I was 7, my sister and I had just finished watching Scales. So we were like "what if we are secretly mermaids too?" So we got 2 cups of water and kept trying to stare at the water to make it move. It didn't work. But I thought my mermaid powers hadn't been unlocked yet, so I kept trying.
what is that face in the last panel. just like JOHN CENA *cue recorder noises*
My parents are getting a da vorce I didn’t know day were jedis (this is a meme)
Kinder Surprise
Obviously there’s nothing wrong with wanting car toys either but I just really wanted the cute little animals that kinder advertised to me! Anyone else remember back when those toys were actually good? My sisters used to collect them and we had sets of little hippos and frogs and other things like that. Those were the days.
You used to actually BUILD your Kinder Surprise toy! I loved that! I thought it was so cool, that, as a kid, I could build something. Now it just comes as is.
Well, at least where I live they have where you build it but its separated from the candy.
Load More Replies...I live in america so we get the kinder surprise ones with disney figurines and avengers in littles balls you can put on your back pack and star wars figurines. Honestly I'd rather have cars lol :p
I swear I have a twist head Yoda lying around somewhere!
Load More Replies...These were banned in the US. I went to London a few years ago... I was SOOPER hyped to buy a "banned candy"
This makes me wonder... Are there Kinder Egg dealers in the USA (where I live and where Kinder Eggs are illegal) like there are drug dealers? I can only imagine what it would be like to smuggle those from Canada or an encounter with a dealer of that particular illegal substance. Netflix should make a series that's basically Breaking Bad but with Kinder Eggs
101 Dalmatians
Thus started an obsession that lasted for years and years. As a kid, I watched the original movie, the sequel, the tv show and the live-action movies.
Waiting
I just hope she’s okay but in the back of my head there’s a little voice that says she’s not okay
One time my big sister forgot about me at the bus stop so me and my friends mind you I didn't know where my house was I was in like the beginning of second grade and they were absolutely amazing people and we wandered around until we found my house and that's when I realized what friendship was
I remember when my mum was supposed to pick me up after the easter hat parade but when it was already Lunch and she hadn't come yet, I was on the verge of tears... 🥲
Once my dad forgot it was a half day at school and I had to call him from the office to pick me up.
Beret
She wore a raaaad beanie beret...the kind you find on a pre-schooler...
I would always do something like this with my birthday. My birthday is on March 15, and when my mom told me that was the ides of march (Julius Caesar) I started telling that to EVERYBODY
Overthinking
As a kid have you ever ended up overthinking which leg goes first and which arm swings with what leg when walking? I used to overthink the frequency of blinking sometimes too.
Oh yes. Even as an adult if I over think breathing (attempting to meditate for example) then ARGH - goes weird.
To everyone in the comments making me incredibly aware of my automatic processes: STOP IT!
I sometimes overthink breathing and then I try to stop to let me breath naturally but then I can't breath for the rest of the day and I have to focus on something and then breath focus and breath for the whole day
Food
I vividly remember being a kid and waiting while my mum makes me food. Then I would feel super betrayed when she’d mum take a bite to taste before feeding me. To my mind would be practically taunting me!! The betrayal! Here I am, so impossibly hungry, how dare! My food!
my mom had me taste things for her and I always felt like some brave super hero for her cause she liked to experiment with food and sometimes they tasted NASTY.
When my dad would pour me a bowl of cereal, he'd take a "Daddy bite" before handing the bowl over. He said he was teaching me about taxes lol!
If I ever had a dessert, my mom would say, "Let me taste that to make sure it's not poisonous." Always, I'm like, "It's mine you are on a diet and you can not eat that!!!!!!!!"
Bedtime Stories
My sis used to tell me great bedtime stories that she made up on the spot. Sometimes they went on for such a long time it would get SUPER late. Mostly because I would get too invested but sometimes she would also get really excited about telling it. I think once we accidentally stayed up until 4 in the morning. Staying up late feels so weird when you're little! Did anyone tell you good made-up bedtime stories or stay up really late to keep you company?
The trick is to start with a good story but turn it boring part way through.
Another trick is to tell the kid to say a story and just doze off..
Load More Replies...I would tell my big sister stories and she would fall asleep so I would go on to my stuffed animals until my mom yelled to go to sleep lol
I'm thinking of the Disembodied Hand story from Calvin and Hobbes lol I miss that comic :(
Cheese
Once I was at the mall and I suddenly felt two little arms grab my leg from behind shouting MAMAA... The look on his face when I turned... The shock! The BETRAYAL! 😂
Why is it that strangers always stand between a child and his/her mom/dad?
i remember that back when i was 13, i couldn't find my dad at walmart, so i had to go to the workers and asks for them to find my dad at the walmart, luckily my dad found me.
Berries
As a child, I would regularly raid my mum’s garden for fruits and vegetables straight from the bushes. Apart from raspberries I also liked to forage for sweet peas and gooseberries. And apparently when I was a toddler - onions straight from the veggie patch?? A weirdo.
i still eat veggies, heck! one easter when i was a child, i made shish kabobs out of veggies. i would eat tons of cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and carrots as a small kid, now sill i eat veggies and fruits, but my diet's mostly fatty and unhealthy foods (yes i'm a fat tub of lard, so shaddup.)
reminds me of the part in the fudge books where fudge ate a ton of blueberries and then he got sick
Sleeping In The Dark
Not gonna lie I’m still pretty scared of sleeping in the dark by myself. I know a lot of people prefer sleeping facing towards the room so that they can see what’s going on but for some reason, I can’t do that. I start looking around too much and can’t sleep as a result.
Didn't notice it until I saw ur comment lol
Load More Replies...Every night, I always hug my stuffed animal, thinking, "You shall protecc me"
This is literally EXACTLY what I do still to this day, even the stuffed animal and Hug Pillow
I CAN NEVER DO THAT!!! my beds always are in the middle of the room, and I cannot wrap myself up its impossible
Chocolate Cereal For Lunch
And that is the story of how I once had a whole lunchbox worth of chocolate cereal for lunch. I drew this because I recently found the actual entry from my childhood diary about this. Roughly translated it literally said “today is a great day, I had cereal for lunch”.
I did this once but my mom found out and after that she kept the cereal on the top shelf lol
Playing Make-Believe
That one day kids at preschool thought I was cool. Playing make-believe as a kid was the best. I think a huge part of why I like storytelling now is because of that.
Feeling Indestructible
Kids bounce back from falling over so well sometimes... I remember feeling indestructible and it drove my mum crazy because I would climb and fall off things constantly and run without looking where I’m going... now I can hurt myself by turning my head wrong pfff.
How to find out if you're old - fall down. If people laugh you're young, if people panic you're old.
Tbh, I'm pretty sure my friends would laugh at me if I were young OR old
Load More Replies...Omg I fell on the ice last night and seriously hurt myself. I'm lying in bed reading these with an ankle twice it's normal size 😣
my brother accidentally fell down the stairs with a pair of SCISSORS! and was fine
The in between moment where you don’t know if a child is going to start uncontrollably screeching
One time was in sleeping top bunk in a cabin, I fell and burst out laughing like a maniac. It is just my personality, I did not get hurt.
yeesh, i know how that feels, just yesterday i fell through a worn down plastic vent cover and ended up banging up my arm pretty bad by accidentally slamming it into the counter while i was no-clipping through the vent, i ended up knee deep in the vent(scraping one of my legs too), and also, i threw out my back while listening and headbanging to some fall out boy(this was back in december 2019), i know how once as a kid, i would fall, and brush it off, now i just tend to get dinged up too much now(i also once burnt my hand when getting chicken patties out of the oven) (btw i'm 15 now)
i used to love running to the entrance of kegonsa elementary as a kid, even if i did scuff my shoes and get a few scrapes and bumps, i just did it so i could beat my twin bro at some game or something, now i cannot jump or else i'll throw out my back, and i'm a teenager. ( i even threw out my back once while listening to a fbe video of trying to guess 2000's rock music, the song was dance dance(by fall out boy) god when i threw out my back and hit my head, i literally had to lay down in AGONY!!!! i was like Squidward when he threw out his back when he was trying to drag patrick.
Childhood Friend
That one time I completely freaked out my childhood friend. We came up with lots of weird stories to play and got so into them that we believed they were actually real. The power of kids’imagination is kinda awesome. But we would also freak ourselves out really easily.
that's was my cousin and me when we were little she always talked about spiderbats 😂
As a kid, I would always read scary stories for fun and I never freaked out.
This is nothing. I used to imagine people getting kidnapped strapped down and then tortured by having spiders crawl across them, getting bitten by snakes, and getting shocked just for the villains fun. Let's just say i had a vivid imagination.@_@
I don't know how she slept that night, my childhood friend told me the story of the bogeyman, I didn't sleep long for a week
Aggressive Loyalty
The squealing over little kids, or the hissing anytime someone jokes about you living with them.
Load More Replies...Cabbage
One of my childhood nicknames was Cabbage because I was a weirdo and often put on layers and layers of clothes to feel cosier. I’m still almost always cold.
when ever its a very cold temperature outside(and my parents want me to put on something warm), i'll put on 1 of 2 of my metal band clothes(either my long sleeved iron maiden shirt, or my disturbed hoodie)
Making Friends
Maybe I just got shyer but it feels like there’s more social gymnastics in friendly conversations between adults. People being very cautious about showing their true selves, worrying about being judged, worrying about first impressions. All fair. But I miss the simpler time where you could get a new friend from playing make-believe in the playground.
This is the story of my life. I only make REAL friends at performing arts camp, with all the theater kids that are never afraid to be themselves. I just wish I could find real friends outside of camp.
Also, you feel safe to be yourself in such places, but are these friends long time,do they stick around?
Load More Replies...I so wish I had that complicity or an older brother to care for me. These are so sweet but also made me crave an intimacy I never had. I am the only male and have 6 sisters (well, 4 are half sisters, 2 and 3, but you know how it is, they are sisters all the same). So, I was always the one looking after, inventing stuff, and in the teens inviting them with my friends. Later in life they became closer to their same sexed siblings and I was left alone. Not always fun being the only male and/or the older brother.
I miss when I could just walk up to a girl and be friends with her for the day. And then never see her again but forever think about her and wonder what her life is like now. Oh my god. What if something bad happened to her? What if she got hurt after I saw her eight years ago? WHAT IF SHE WAS ABDUCTED HY ALIENS AND I COULD JAVE SAVED HER?! IM SORRY RANDOM GIRL!!! IM SOOOOORRRRY!!!!
i made my friends only due to similar tastes in favorite things
as a kid: hi, i like adventure time and sailor moon too, wanna be my fwiend?? (that's one with my old friend, who never talks to me anymore, just because i'm a furry. nowadays:hey, i like disturbed, mcr, anime, and dnd, maybe we can hang out sometime and become friends
Making The Bed
Honestly, I STILL hate changing duvet covers. Even that small thing when the corners get all messed up while you sleep and the duvet bulks up drives me crazyyy. Oh oh, and how about trying to put on fitted sheets and the corners escape as you're putting them on? It's okay, I have other things I'm good at.
Use the inside out method for putting on the duvet cover - best with two people still.
I used to do it by grabbing the duvet by the corners and theen burrowing through the duvet cover until it fit
Childhood Home
The last time I visited my childhood home (my family doesn’t live there anymore) was also the first time I came back in years and everything looked SO small in comparison to how I remembered it. The bathtub felt more like a pool when I was little.
I use to bring my kids to a private beach at a lake we lived on. They loved to jump off this rock that was only a few feet in the water. One winter they both grew a lot. Returning to the beach they insisted that the rock was changed out for a smaller one! :) Took some convincing and even picture proof to show them they changed, not the rock! :) Thanks for sharing!
Snuggles
Nightmares
All I needed was a HINT of a scary thing for my imagination to take over and make up the rest. I think some of the movies I had nightmares about (without actually seeing much of them ) were - the 6th sense, Scream and The Ring.
Omg same. When I was reading the Harry Potter books for the first time, and I got to the part where there was a description of what Voldemort looked like, I started imagining stuff. There was also this hallway right by my bedroom and I was terrified to go dow there at night because I called it the Voldemort hallway. (I still adore Harry potter though)
He me and my friends thaught he was in the school bathroom and refused to pee because he would cruciatus curse us
Load More Replies...that happened to be when I watched frnakwinne i still scared about that thing....
i used to be so scared of horror as a kid, now i like japanese urban legends and lists about the deep/dark web. the first time i saw things for horror, was a dvd for saw (with that signature puppet that i was petrified of on the cover(actually, sometimes ironically covered it with the dvd for hostel)! and another was the it miniseries poster that i saw at a film/game store (first thing to get me into horror, was fnaf) now i like nosferatu, evil dead, ichi the killer, ringu, saw, and: what we do in the shadows) i also was kind of scared of reading scary stories to tell in the dark, all because of: "The hearse song"
I actually can’t watch part of a horror movie before sleeping, I need to finish it so it’s resolved and I don’t have nightmares. It’s odd.
Pistachios
I loved these! And your drawing style is so CUTEEE! Also I love beans as well, as you can see.
I love your style and the stories in your comics! I can't wait to see more!
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the new ones as they come out :D!

Those comics are very cute, I smiled the whole time reading them! Usually I don't comment, but this time I loved it so much I needed to express it.
Its so rare that I read every single panel of an entire post, but this one really made me want to see more!
I’m so glad ❤️❤️ Thank you! Hope you enjoy the new ones as they come out 😊
Load More Replies...Absolutely loved these! The drawing is adorable. Just wondering (if you see this), how far apart are you and your sisters? It seems to be a significant age gap based on the drawings.
So glad that you liked them!! Thank you :). Yes my sisters are 16 and 14 years older than me so there is a bit of an age gap.
Load More Replies...Thank you for the big smile on my face. I really really love your style and the loving way you remember and draw your family life with Baby Beanie.
These are adorable, great for the eyes and great for the heart. Thanks for sharing them.
