Do you think you have the weirdest cat in the world? It turns out most people do, and they’re both right and wrong. Namely, cats’ behaviors, however strange they may seem, are pretty similar no matter where you go. Someone on Twitter asked people to share the weird things their cats do, and you can probably guess that the answers involve a lot of theft, knocking things over, turning on faucets, and staring ominously.

My cat Baby played hide and seek every time I went to the bathroom. He’d run ahead of me and get under the shower curtain that only covered his upper body with his fat bottom shining. I’d have to say “Where’s Baby?” three times before he’d meow and come out.

I did that with my cat. His hiding spot was in the bathtub or a box with no lid or sometimes "under" the table (he didn't fit there but thought he was hid).

My cat, Skitty, LOVES to hide. EVERYWHERE! In my closet, behind curtains, IN THE DRYER, in the laundry basket, IN THE TUB, ANYWHERE where she is small enough to fit!!

Me my Peaches will start playing Peek-a-Boo at separate ends of the hallway, with me looking around the edge of the doorframe. She'll take a few steps every time I take a quick peek at her until she finally runs the last few feet towards me. I'm the only one she'll play this game with lol

Why are our adorable cats so fascinated with all the fixtures in the bathroom? Vets suggest that this might come from their wild instincts—still water in the great outdoors isn’t so fresh, and drinking from a bowl in a corner or up against a wall might feel like a vulnerable position. The flowing water that comes out of the sink or shower is simply more appealing for both of those reasons. There’s no wild explanation for why these weird cats like to use sinks as beds, but a sink is perfectly cat-sized and the porcelain might feel fresh and cool in hot weather.
If your pet cat is using inappropriate places as a toilet, though, there are several explanations. The first thing to try is always to take them to the vet for urine and blood analysis, because they could be acting out to show that they don't feel well.
If they have a clean bill of health, the problem could be that the litter box is not clean enough (in addition to frequent scooping, the box itself should be scrubbed out once a week,) in an inconvenient place (upstairs or downstairs, in a room that the cat finds unpleasant, or near their food,) or too small. If you have more than one cute cat, there could be a bullying situation preventing one from using the litter box, in which case the solution is to provide more boxes.

That's actually a condition called hyperesthesia. In some cats it's just cute, but in ones like mine, he'll catch his tail and bite it enough to draw blood if he doesn't get his medication. It's due to a nerve disorder where he has tiny seizures resulting in twitching on his back and skin. To him it feels like someone is poking him, then he turns around and sees his tail and figures it's his F-ING TAIL! MUST KILL TAIL! It's sometimes called 'rippling skin syndrome' because that's what it looks like before he tries to catch his tail. Easily treatable with meds that don't have a long term negative effect. This has been my PSA for the day

Our kitten, Osito, likes to shower with us. He'll race over when he hears the water turn on, and then sit there washing himself while we wash. He likes to be dried with his own towel after.

My cat has a paper plate that she sits on all the time. It's to small for her to lay on it so she sits for hours just staring outside the window or cleaning herself, and then when she sleeps she takes it with her. The paper plate is at the least 5 years old and I tried to replace it once but she refused to sit in it and paced around the house looking for it til I pulled it out of the trash and put it back on the table.

My cat likes to watch certain TV shows. Her favorite was Game of Thrones. Every Sunday night right before GoT came on, she would run and sit on the footstool (code for: watching TV now) and wait for the theme music to come on. If the show was "off" between seasons, I had to find a rerun for her to watch b/c she'd just sit there waiting for Jon Snow! She also likes Peppa Pig, which means that I am watching Peppa Pig. Ugh!

Both my cats stand outside the shower when I'm in there, the shower door is glass so they can see me. One of them paces back and forth and screams at me until I get out, the other one just sits there and silently stares at me like a creeper.

Some times I just felt like reincarnation is real... we reincarnate into animals while keeping some of the habit like hugging a doll, use the toilet and flush, sleep in blanket with pillow and etc... My friend's puppy went to the toilet to pee and poop then flush without any training...

My parents had a cat that was practically omnivorous. Used to steal dry noodles from the cupboard and stole a cucumber(!) and such (I shared my baby food with her when I was very small). She ate EVERYTHING. Died at 14 from kidney failure because cats aren't omnivores really and are very, very sensitive to salt. My parents current cat has a liking for cake. There's a specific nut cake that has to be carefully guarded - she's bitten through foil to get it. At this point, it's like the bitten-off corner is a part of the cake.

My sister's cat is people food obsessed. He will fish things out of the garbage disposal, he has eaten a sponge with chicken grease on it, brownies, chili still on the stove and is particularly obsessed with bread. He will chew through packaging or trash bags and has even learned how to pull the reusable tops for cans off. They can't leave any food out ever. They often store food in the microwave or in the oven. When ever I'm there (Generally for holidays) I'm always on cat patrol to make sure he doesn't get into something. My cat doesn't care about people food. The only thing he gets is water off of tuna. BTW Kidney failure is the #1 cause of death (natural death, not car accidents etc) for cats, so it may not have been the people food.

1. My cat always strats meowing when I brush my hair after showering them. He HAS to be brushed too. 2. My ladycat has a sleeping place near the lightswitch. When we sit too long in the living room at night, she flips off the lights. 3. We have to hide bags with stickers on them, because my ladycat loves to lick glue (the one like on the stamps). 4. My cat, when the remote vacuum finishes, has to always walk it back to the docking station.

My cat will come into the bathroom and run around the shower. She opens the shower door, gets in and proceeds to chase her tail. Only does it when I am in the bathroom and won't do it around anyone else ??

My two cats, brother & sister will race to the bathroom when they hear me get up at night. Whoever gets there first will chase off second one because then the first one gets "undivided" attention & thats when they believe petting is best. I've been tripped by cats in hallway as they try to beat each other in. My little female loves gloves, especially when I roll both up & put away in my glove tub. I can hide it or put it out of sight and by next morning she's had a massive Glove Party in her bedroom. Yes she has her own room (its my sons old room that we've converted to a guest room that I use as my dressing room. She has gloves spread out into hallway. If she can't locate the glove tub, she'll wiggle my sock drawer open.

When my cat was mad at us, he would go and aggressively scratch on his scratch box, while glaring at us as if to say, "Take that, jerks!" But he was SUPPOSED to scratch on that box, so we found it very funny. Also, he came with his own sound effects. He would make a sound any time he jumped or stepped up or down on anything. (He was Siamese and a talker.) So, coming down the steps it would be, "Mrmpph, Mrmpph, Mrmpph", on each step. Going up the stairs it was "mrmpHH? mrmpHH?mrmpHH?" on each step.

The cat I'm watching for a friend, comes in the bathroom meowing her impatience and just wanting me to hurry up. I'll ask her a question and she'll meow in a way that sounds like nooo. An I'm so bored no or nah. I follow her out and she goes to her litter box and I meow at her the whole time. Pisses her off.

My cat REFUSED to eat ANY piece of food that had touched the floor. Whether it dropped while refilling his bowl or he knocked it out didn't matter. He wouldn't touch it. To make matters worse, picking up said "floor food" and simply putting it back in his bowl didn't solve the problem. He would eat around it. Once, when I accidentally tore a new 10 lb bag of food down it's side while opening it and scattered at least 5 pounds across the floor, I thought nothing of sweeping it up and putting it in the newly filled cat food bin. For the next several days I noticed the usually piggish Tu Kitty eating VERY few morsels of kibble daily and started to get VERY concerned. As I was speaking to the Veterinarian's receptionist to schedule an urgent visit, She inquired about Tu's eating habits i.e. routines, food brands etc. Suddenly I recalled the spillage incident and "No Way!" escaped my lips. Yup!! "Contaminated" food -- 10 pounds thrown out. New, CLEAN food fixed the problem.

My oldest cat is nearly 18 only goes outside to go for a poo or wee now and when he's done and ready to come in, he drags his claws across the front door. It's like nails on a chalkboard and I can even hear it from upstairs. I'm considering putting a second doorbell at his height instead.

I can’t think of anything CUTE or ENTERTAINING my cats do anymore. They’re elderly cats now, and their behaviors are becoming maddening. I guess it’s cute how obsessive girl kitty is about sleeping on my lap or on the bed, but it’s NOT cute to feel like I’m living with a couple of tyrants (she constantly nags and he... has random s******g location behavior). Yes, I take care of them. One of my companions is a cat lady and she makes sure every possible option is considered for their wellbeing. I never intended to be a single parent to filthy children that can’t communicate and never grow up. (Yes, I know how to read them; they still suck at even cat communication)
