All Adverts In London’s Underground Station Have Been Replaced With Cat Pictures
88Kviews
If you arrived at Clapham Common tube station one morning to find that every advert had been replaced with pictures of cats, you’d no doubt logically conclude that our feline friends paid for the initiative as part of their first steps towards world domination. And in a way you’d be right, because the stunt was indeed paid for by CATS. But fortunately for us, that’s where the conspiracy ends, because CATS stands for the Citizens Advertising Takeover Service, and they’re the team responsible for this rather bizarre campaign.
It was funded via Kickstarter by almost 700 people who pledged over 23k GBP to get the project up and running, and as organizer James Turner noted in a blog, “This isn’t a clever marketing stunt. The people behind it are volunteers. We want to inspire people to think differently about the world and realize they have the power to change it.” So for the next two weeks, Clapham Common won’t just be serving the Northern Line. It’ll also be serving the FE-line!

It's definitely a better sight than actual ads but why? Now if these cats were adoptables, waiting in shelters for new homes, that would really serve a purpose.
They are
They are adoptables? But why doesn't it say so on these posters? That's not helpful at all.
I agree Brigitte.... a true purpose behind the cats would have been to be able to adopt them. And those that think they're up for adoption, didn't read the article very well.
The point with this "campaign" is that there is no direct purpose, it's not an ad for cats. But is invites you to see another perspective.
^one does not question anything cat^
Argh, so sick of Ads! They shove them into your face everywhere! TV, Radio, streets, fucking Youtube!! And then ppl complain about consumerism and global warming, and emotional connections disappearing. Fuck this! Cover the whole world with CATS!
I hated being assaulted by adverts for tights and Barratt style homes in South Woodham Ferrers when I lived in London and it wore me down on top of the pollution, crowds and people rushing everywhere. Who would want to live in South Woodham Ferrers in a house that you can't afford, where there is nothing to do and a longer commute to work in the City?
You would have no tv, radio, or social media because they exist from advertising
Good. So no loss at all then.
There is a tome and place for advertising, but train station or any other mode of public transit is not it, unless that mode of public transit is free, then the advertising can pay for it.
I love this... A little sweet innocence in the midst of global madness.
