Artist Illustrates Her Daily Struggles As A Woman In Hilarious Comics (30 New Pics)
Brazilian artist Deya Muniz has been working on her webcomic series Brutally Honest for 5 years now, but it looks like she won't be running out of ideas anytime soon. Her strips continue to deal with the absurd realities of everyday life with brutal honesty and refreshing humor, offering precisely what we need to come to terms with the fact that we don't always have our crap together. So, just like the last time we wrote about Deya's work, we invite you to enjoy a cathartic experience very few Internet artists can provide.

"You could say the series is really personal," Muniz told Bored Panda. "Not necessarily in a deep 'this is who I really am inside' kind of way, but more in a 'being based around stuff that happens to me in real life' way. I'm just putting my own thoughts and feelings out there and people seem to relate or find my life funny, which are both cool!"
Currently, Muniz is living in the US with her wife and their dog, and the trio are the most popular characters on the series nowadays. But other guests also make their appearances from time to time. "I've included a lot of other friends in the past, it just varies based on who I've been spending time with. I always show them the comic ahead of time to make sure they're okay with it though!"
That's been going on for centuries. Women living with their best friends. Ahem. And recently being able to marry them.
Even though Muniz has been working on the series for half a decade, she has no intention of stopping. "I take breaks when and if I need to, and there's no schedule or deadlines I need to worry about with Brutally Honest. Sometimes, I pop one out just to vent."
I almost cried when I realised when the 5 second rule didn't work as we were told.
I fortunately rarely cut myself shaving especially since I started using men’s razors. But shaving is still a pain in the a**e and causes irritattion.
Me too! I switched to men's razors years ago and haven't had issues since!

The most important things for shaving are: a sharp blade and enough lubricant. And, it's good to let the shave gel/cream or other lubricant sit for a minute or two on the skin before shaving.
Oh look, it's me. For as many times as I've cut myself shaving, I should have bought stock in Band-Aid. I'd be rich.
F**k shaving. Being a women is having hair same like men. I don't shave nowhere and the guy I'm with now loves me for who I am not if I'm hairless or what not.
I epilate. Lasts longer and no cutting yourself. You have to get use to the pain though
For me, it was neither cheap, nor practical, nor fast, nor painless. So I switched to the epilator (with tweezers) and never gone back. Much better and not even as painful after a couple of wax treatments by professionals (but real torture if you do it after razors).
I was shaving in the shower, and all off a sudden my razor felt very dull. When I took a look at it, I had basically cut into my ankle skin & potato peeled the skin on the back of my ankle. It was an inch & a half patch of skin, so deep that the color of the skin stayed on, even when it dried up. Now I have a nice scar to remember it by. Since then I'm especially careful when shaving my legs.

I've recently discovered, at the ripe age of 57, that my leg hair really only grows on my shins. Like, literally, my calves are bald and apparently the hair just gave up on my thighs. There's hope girls!
I never understood those people. When someone tells me to calm down, I acknowledge that I'm gone too far, and I try to calm down. Actually, it's more like a "shame-signal" for me: I'd better calm down, unless I want to feel terribly awkward and ashamed everytime I think back on that particular event.
Every time I dye my hair red it looks like I've been bleeding in the bathtub.

That is pretty much me and my daughter. My hair is down to my bum and haven’t had it cut in a couple of years. I am going for a cut and colour in a few weeks and I want a change but I am a bit nervous and unsure whether to get a drastic new style or just get a trim and my hair layered. Yet my daughter has an undercut and wants to shave the side of her head when she turns 16.

Not really "woman" problems bc I have a lot of these but I'm non-binary so maybe that's just the lady in me that can relate.
i really enjoyed these! while some them are what you see most of the time she expressed them in different ways, and most of the comics were unique & ones i hadn't seen before! i also liked that she could talk about being married to a woman, a lot of comics feature straight people and it's nice to have something else ♥
that can be true, but i love the different art styles and actually these ones were different from other ones i've seen. they expressed things differently, and i enjoyed them because she wasn't straight so she had different things to talk about :)
