Unless I’m wrong. I don’t think that means he took the 50 out from your check. But by law they have to disclose it to IRS. So you are going to be taxed on that 50 as income.

It may be, but also it may be that the boss refuse to meet with the employee so there's no other choice...

Where I work most of these types of conversations are done via text. Then again, I'm only 14, so I don't exactly have much experience.

It was for the older generation, now it should start to be normal. Millennials are coming.

The biggest problem I have with this boss is that he constantly denies his employee to take leave. In my country an employer has to give a valid reason for refusing leave. He can only refuse twice per yearly leave period. Third time - go to the deparment of labour.

shes prob already tried the face to face and the emails and calls and got the No's so texting was the last resort Ive had boss's like that but wasnt a quitting issue

I guess in 2019 it's just a way of communicating like another. I don't see why it would be unprofessional, actually. It would be like saying that e-mailing a customer is less professional than sending a regular mail...

You'd be surprised. These days, it is really not all that unusual to have professional / work-related conversations with your co-workers and superiors via text. I had to get used to it myself.

It started out as a simple request. Boss is an inconsiderate idiot, it escalated. Let's hope they carried through with the porper quitting letter.

Regularly and routinely denying employees their vacation time is also childish and unprofessional.

If it is during a time when the employee cannot meet with the boss, like a weekend, it makes more sense to do it over text. I agree with you, it is unprofessional, but if you have no other option or want a legal record it makes sense.

I once quit a job when i didn't have a new one lined up because the work environment had just become toxic. It was so toxic, that when I put in my three weeks notice, they told me to stay home and they would pay me for those three weeks. Within those three weeks, I found a better job that paid over 50% more.

This is pretty common. My husband works with a couple of lazy, thieving coworkers, but the boss won't fire them because he'd have to cover shifts until he could find replacements.
