They say practice makes perfect so Masayoshi Matsumoto, an artist who has been perfecting his craft for 10 years, should be pretty good, right? No. He's amazing. The guy creates balloon sculptures so intricate, every single one of his pieces seem to breathe with life.

What makes Matsumoto stand out from the crowd is how insanely familiar he is with the material. "My creations are one hundred percent balloon-only," the 29-year-old told Bored Panda. "I don't use any adhesive, marker pens, or anything else."
Jewel Beetle
I like this one because it doesn't have those gugoillie creepily bumps or bubbles. I know I have that thing about seeing frog eggs still in a frog kinda of thing and I don't know the phobia word for it.
Trypophobia? Clusters of holes and circles/ certain patterns like a row of birds perched on utility poles creep me the hell out. Even writing this is making my skin crawl!
Load More Replies...The way he used that deflated green balloon to bisect the beetle is amazing! This is the prettiest bug (eewwww!) I've EVER seen! One I am not scared of.
Once you know that, the limbs, spikes, and other little details elevate his pieces to another level. Majestic mammals, graceful birds, and pesky insects with their incredibly textural exoskeletons are only part of the artist's body of work. Fauna aside, Matsumoto also portrays plants and fungi, including cacti and morel mushrooms.
Horned Puffin
"A lot of my work revolves around nature because I've been fascinated with it since I was very young," Matsumoto said. The artist added that his sculptures aren't products of spontaneity; they're the offspring of careful and deliberate planning. Once he's done designing a particular piece, Matsumoto usually spends 2-5 hours blowing and twisting the balloons.
Cuckoo Wasp
White Rooster
i love how the deflated red balloon is expressed. (what do you call that on a chicken?)
I have two (real) roosters like this. Sheldon(youngest) and nugget (oldest)
HA!! The deflated red balloons for the roosters, um, not sure what you call that thing hanging there! Oh yeah! It's a WATTLE!
Blobfish
I've always wanted to have a self portrait made out of balloons :)
Ermine
He had to check the oil and lost the dipstick that he normally does!

Poodle
Poodles, they say, are the smartest of all dogs. I don't like them, they look like sissy alien dog freaks to me. But you have to commend the artist's skill. He can probably make every dog breed! How about a Dachshund?? It would only take about 2 very very long brown balloons, hahaha.
Border Collies, Poodles and German Shepherds are the "top 3" for intelligence. All gorgeous too :) This artist is amazing, I love all the little details - like this lovely dog’s feet!

Wondering how the neck balloon stays so curvy against all physical odds.
probably a thin string and a bit of editing for the photo shoot

Pangolin
These little guys are on the endangered list, please help save them!
I hope not. Nails and balloon animals don't necessarily go together. Unless your one of those. And if you were, there'd be two of us. (Anybody else hate that new unpoppable bubble wrap?)

I saw one of these aholes chilling at work. by chilling, I mean, he was hissing at me like some kind of derange devil cat. It took me about three days to find out the bastard was totally harmless- couldn't even bite. Three days of nightmares.
So you told that whole story with parts of calling it a bastard, etc., yet you found out it’s harmless. Wtf....
