What do artists Robert DeJesus and Lance Phan have in common? They both turn strangers into awesome characters. However, while DeJesus does anime caricatures , Phan creates portraits that are much more Pixar-like.
From a girl enjoying the beach with her doggo to a guy strumming his guitar, these images look so awesome, you could easily mistaken them for stills of a feature-length animation movie. Scroll down to see the stunning transformations for yourselves and vote for your favorite ones.
P.S. Lance does commissions, so contact him via Instagram or Facebook and who knows, maybe you'll get Pixar-ed too!

The real life model is beautiful but the CG image does not capture that, she looks like a different person of a different race even.
Seriously...WTF is wrong with you IDIOTS who are literally pointing out every little detail that is off, including the MORONS who are pulling the "race" card?!?!? Don't worry, I'll wait.... I'm certain that the artist who created these was NOT in any way trying to offend anyone. But there is always that one idiot, and in this case many idiots, who try and throw race in the mix. Your stupidity is exhausting.
I'm just wondering how I'd go about getting a couple of these done?!? They're amazing. XxX
I was just about to say that. I think it's his build, his position, and the camera angle combining to make it look that way
Load More Replies...Also very good. Like the mouth and the expression of her face.. WoW
Eliminating that plowed-field worth of furrows from the forehead works wonders.
Load More Replies...This should be higher up the list! I can just imagine her in a Pixar movie
That pinkish color around her eyes makes her look unhealthy. And in reality she does not have Sanpaku eyes.
There's something lost in the detail of her mouth, which would add more to her character
it looks just like a real person? I've been staring at this picture for a couple minutes now and i still cant tell its not real.
actually looking at it closer this one doesn't feel like its like the others. the others have a similar look to each other like in the way the eyes are, but this one just looks like it just had some colors changed and put on a new background >< still pretty but not made Pixar.
Load More Replies...This reminds me of a scene from Final Fantasy. She could totally be one of the main characters!
They're all animated, just say the animation is very good.
Load More Replies...Those inner corners of the eye look too much I would shown a bit more white of the eye.
The guys in this one is done REALLY well except the nose is too wide.
Everyone keeps pointing out that people with Asian features look less Asian. You guys know that one of the staples of Pixar animation is the big eyes, right....?
why change the roundness of cheeks and nose to more slimier face??? makes no sense is like feeding the ridiculousness of white beauty slimmer pointy nose and flat cheeks .
Load More Replies...I can imagine this in a pixar movie, i can name it! Lights and Style.
I've seen ads that have this picture on the front for extreme plastic surgery
Where's all the people complaining they made the white guys eyes rounder? ;)
The character looks like it's looking up at the creepy eyes popping out of its head.
Me thinks there was a wee bit of digital liposuction involved here. I wonder if the subject wanted a more 'Hollywood' look vs her photo.
You do realize Pixar characters tend to have big heads and slim bodies right?
Load More Replies...I m totaly in love!!! i'm sure the subject was in love too, i dream to be recreated by you to be a "pixar" hero. Thanks very much for your beautiful work and your talent
This one is a big fail. Lips needs to be much bigger, eyebrow higher, body type completely wrong
These are all very well done. Give it time however and with more powerful computers and ipad pros...there will be an app for this...pretty cool
You guys do realize the Pixar style has big eyes? Though, they should've made the skin a bit darker, I agree. But the eyes are fine.
Load More Replies...Hmm, this is the only one that misses the natural beauty of the subject. The other ones enhance the beauty.
Its the hair not having extra colour layers and flatter. And the face expression is different, shes looking into the camera normally smiling however in the edit shes looking into the distance with a fake disappearing smile, makes her seem worried/upset giving her less glow about her. The artist doesn't seem to like copying eye placement, most likely thinks it gives them more character or its more natural to not look at the camera or something but when the picture is already taken with the person looking into the camera you can't change that unless you change their whole posture, as it makes it look like they don't want to be photographed. People don't need "character enhancement" they already have character and do what they do because that's who they are, changing that kills the image.
Load More Replies...I didn't see any older people, wrinkles too hard to do; or are older people not cool?
model it in 3d in maya/zbrush/blender, texture, render
Load More Replies...The effect is called "uncanny valley". It happens when something looks very very similair to a human but is different in a subtle way. The artist is trying to counteract this by giving the portraits a stylized look. I think most of the times he succeeds.
Load More Replies...An app really wouldn't be able to do that. Not to that quality by far anyway.

If you expect them to be so similar to one another you might as well just use photoshop instead of putting in work for a Pixar interpretatio
Load More Replies...These are all impressive, but most of the women look too similar to each other to me. I think it's because of the shape of the eyes/nose - all of them are very similar. The noses a particularly noticeable, the artist made all the women's noses smaller and cuter, which takes away a lot of the unique character of the face. I don't see the same issue with the men's renditions.
