Book-Loving Guy Turns His Massive Library Into Art And His 120k Instagram Followers Approve
The best books can spark our imagination and in the case of James Trevino, even our creativity. The 24-year-old has made a name for himself by arranging his book collection to depict elaborate literary scenes.
A self-proclaimed 'bookstagrammer', Trevino has managed to pull in 120k Instagram followers for his beautiful artworks (in addition to being pretty easy on the eyes himself). He said the idea to start creating the pieces "just sort of happened."
"At first I was posting pictures of my then current reads. With time, the beautiful photos got more and more complex, influenced mostly by pop culture and sometimes by certain cool photos I saw on Instagram."
Each book art scene goes through a process to create, he explained, "First, there is the brainstorming I do with my good friend Elizabeth. Then, once we have a general idea, Liz and I try to bring it as close as possible to our vision. If the concept proves to be too large to capture in a single frame, we combine two or more photos in post-editing."
While the literary themes on his page are diverse, they lean in favor of his two favorite books, 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' by J.K. Rowling and 'The Silmarillion' by JRR Tolkien.
Trevino is now up to about 1,100 books in his collection and has no plans on slowing down. He told Bored Panda, for now, his unique artworks are just a hobby and that he is going with the flow, "The fact that the reactions have been so positive is a bit overwhelming, but also heartwarming."
Scroll down below to check out some of this bookstagrammer's creative ideas, as well as his various social media pages where he says he loves "having long philosophical talks on various themes" with his followers.

Good looking and loves books!. Wow, what's not to like?
Load More Replies...I love this one most. Almost philosophical - surrounded and protected by books.
exactly- i started reading almost religiously after my parents fought- it was an escape
Load More Replies...from his position, fetal, it seems like the books are the womb, he is the child of books!
This is so cool! I love that you have thought of this. People think if you love books you are boring! So, so far from it! But the last laugh is on them. We know better.
people will probably hate me for this, but that is an evil symbol, and even if you think it doesn't represent the evil one you're wrong. just because we use something for art and not in satanic worship, doesn't mean that it won't open doors to it.
Jeez Lady calm down! it's a friggin' harry potter reference not Devil worship!
Load More Replies...Ok all these Harry Potter references are making me love this guy even more!
saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame,saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame
Load More Replies...My personal favorite seeing as though I write books with angels as main characters. <3
LOve this one! I wonder how many books I have read in my life time already. I am sure I can fill a library!
seriously, how long does it take to figure out a concept, color scheme, amount of books, then finally the lay out. it's amazing though!
I see a Dan Brown novel! And a Neil Gaiman.. and a Harry Potter? Cool!
Although I am a bit concerned about the books at the front of the picture
Load More Replies...Though I'm a lesbian I'd climb up and read, he seems like a great friend, a bookworm who likes to be silly and creative :)
As for so many down-voting Nini Meow's comment: I am pretty sure she wants to say that in her culture it is considered to be disrespectful of knowledge if your feet touch the books. (Many languages use the same word for foot and leg) To instantly down-vote her comment is both disrespectful and downright rude!
In our custom we don't let our legs touch books... It is considered as disrespecting knowledge..

Not the same logo; this one symbolizes a trident (both on his spine and in his hands) as held by Neptune, the god of the sea. He is Neptune rising from a sea of books near a wave of books.

This is also a great one. And not just because the guy has no shirt.
The Harry Potter book three books above his head. It is the order of the Phoenix
colorcoding books is nice but very confusing when trying to find a specific one
There are so many " yeses" in this picture. Incredible depiction of the Mortal Instruments
I would love to marry you and we could read a book together every night while we cuddle on the couch
There are five Tunnels?? Wow I really need to get back on this serie and actually finish it.
Interesting idea and realisation, some of the photos are so beautiful. I like this even more since I am a book lover too.
Agreed, incredibly unique and very well executed.
Load More Replies...This is creative and nice but a little part of me is uncomfortable that he has his feet on the books. :D
Kinda hard to have too much of either. Ever heard someone complain they had too much time to waste?
