It appears that boredom lies behind the most creative ideas. That's why quarantine has produced some of the most entertaining activities. One of them is the Getty Museum challenge that so many of you have already seen in our previous article here. The challenge, which asks people to recreate famous works of art by using things they find around the home, has gained a lot of traction. Apparently, people love to dress up and compete with each other over who can recreate a well-known painting better. The art enthusiasts can't stop participating in this challenge, so scroll down below for their latest creations!

Sharaku Kabuki Portrait
Brilliant portray and could have been the original model..
Load More Replies...At first glance of the hair, I thought it was Eugene from The Try Guys. It isn't, but kudos to this dude! He did a great job.
This one is so incredibly well done from the expression and traditional makeup right down to the styled hair and hakama.
Rembrandt "Portrait Of A Woman With Gloves"
You can tell the subject’s economical status from the amount of toilet paper rolls worn around her neck.
And she must be able to afford wine judging by her beautiful lace cuffs
Load More Replies...Wow, this is beyond impressive! I wonder if the woman is a historical reeanactor. I love the very cheeky addition of the toilet paper ruff, surgical gloves, and use of fruit packaging for the dress cuffs.
A shadow of the original but the content is wonderfully accurate of current times.
Not to nitpick, but the model in the painting is wearing a 17th c ruffle, while the modern one is wearing a 16th c ruffle.
Picasso’s “Woman In A Hat With Pompoms And A Printed Blouse”
Wow! Who has that much make up in the house!!! Picasso would be proud and laughing.
The Death Of Marat
Love how you used the cat...no fake blood available at the store!
Like A King By Afarin Sajedi
I agree, more red make needed...still excellent, though.
Load More Replies...She always knew that silverware crown was going to come in handy one day.
"La Ricitos" By Baldomero Gili
Extremely well done! I The colour palette in the original painting and photograph are gorgeous.
just the same expression as in the original, perfect recreation!

We have this one hanging over our piano in my parent's house. Gorgeous, especially with my mother's blonde hair and my brown hair.
Edvard Munch "The Scream"
Made me laugh out loud! For those commenting that the avocado is the wrong way round, it has to be so that the mouth is where it should be!
great but the shape would have worked better upside down
The Great War By Rene Magritte
I'm starting to understand where all the toilet paper went... and I don't begrudge a single sheet!
Pop Art Figures By Keith Haring
Lines and placement are off, waste of everyone's time
Load More Replies...The Temptation Of St. Anthony By Joos Van Craesbeeck
I'm laughing at all the details such as the scissors on his head, the chocolate bunny, the Pokemon cards and the Lego man inside of his mouth.
This is so amazing just because he looked at the painting and thought, "I could do this..."
Thank you. I thought I was going to be the only one who saw shades of Hieronymus Bosch in the original

Jan Asselijn "The Threatened Swan"
"Lady With An Ermine" By Leonardo Da Vinci
Lol about 100 times. The lady and the ermine after 6 months of quarantine.
"The Son Of Man" By René Magritte
This boy made this so deep, and I wonder if he realizes it. "The Son of Man" is a name for Jesus, and Adam (Genesis 3) disobeyed God and ate the fruit, which brought sin and suffering into the world to every human; now every human sins and experiences suffering, and as a result, all must be separated from the loving God forever, in a place called hell. Around 4,000 years later, Jesus Christ came to the world, but He lived a perfect life with no sin. Jesus Christ was known as "The Son of Man", which represents that He is both God and human at the same time. He died on the cross, taking the punishment for our sin, and rose again 3 days later. Anyone who "[confesses] with [their] mouth that Jesus is Lord and [believes] in [their] heart that God raised [Jesus] from the dead, [that person] will be saved and restored to God as a part of God's family, and live with God forever in heaven--with no sin and so suffering. The sin blinds us from seeing Him (apple). Does modern life blind us?

Girl Before A Mirror, Picasso, 1932
Frida Kahlo
"Girl Interrupted At Her Music" - Johannes Vermeer
Le Chat Noir
This should have rated higher, love it. Points should be awarded for just getting the cat to sit right, lol
Yeah... I'm a sucker for cats, so I Love this one. It's also very creative & well thought out. That kitten though... Love.
The cat is too purrfectly cuddly-looking, the sharp attitude of the Master night-tom was out of its' reach.
Georgia O'keeffe--Black Mesa Landscape, New Mexico
Frida Kahlo "Dancing With Skeleton"
Thanks for the info! I thought it didn't look like Frida's work.
Load More Replies...What I love so much about all of these is the moment a person says to themselves....ah! I have all the stuff I need, right here, to recreate this artwork! And then do it!!
As for the original: I've always found Frida Kahlo both a silly artist and a wretched person. But THIS is very different from her other works. Looks like it took more than an 8-year-old's skills; the abstracted colors add a vibrancy to her; I can almost imagine why people are impressed by her.
Easier to get imagination detail with paint than with a camara unless you're willing to put as much work in the photo as in the painting.
Covid-19 Gothic
Actually, it was the farmer's daughter, not his wife, but good still!
Selfie By Narcissus - Caravage
I would be a bit ashamed if I were Olli XD It's Caravaggio in EVERY language. It's his bloody name.
Load More Replies...Me too! That's so clever. and I love the lighting--wish he had added the scarf too--but this is very very good.
Load More Replies...Caravaggio's Narcissus gets an update. Nowadays, no matter whatever is used to reflect one's self, the process of self-admiration by means of reflection is termed "narcissism."
The Veiled Virgin By Giovanni Strazza, Early 1850s (Left)
Remarkable duplication of eye shadow and nose; so much so that the title required the word (Left.)
The (left) is important. Otherwise I couldn't tell which one is the original!
Kees Van Dongen, "The Corn Poppy"
If you use a thick, jet black pencil eye/brow liner, you can replicate it and not hurt yourself. OR you can use the tempura paint that school children use. It's non-toxic.

“Jorge Manuel Theotocópuli”- El Greco
Someone said that after the plague came the Renaissance, and, la voila, behold the New Rennaisance Man! Who needs an expensive collar made from fine Flemish lace (expensive as f$%) when we all have two years worth of tp stored on top of the bookshelves? Well done, monsieur, well done!
Four Mandarin Oranges By Édouard Manet
My Daughter As “Shiner” By Norman Rockwell
Anyone who does not love this Norman Rockwell painting must have some very serious hangups. She no doubt won that fight!
OMG, a group has to do the "telephone gossip" painting. That's one of my favorites of Rockwell's.
Astronomer By Candlelight - Gerrit Dou
They only had candle light. They did not have to deal with light pollution and so THEY COULD SEE THE STARS! I am officially jealous.
Soyer's "Blond Figure" Goes Brunette!
Ivan Argunov “Portrait Of An Unknown Peasant Woman In Russian Costume”
The original did not have a cat. The cat was added by Svetlana Petrova who adds her cats to paintings. Good thing with the original because that woman's necklace is about to be spread all over the floor. https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-27507950
I love Zarathustra. Such an adorable cat. Svetlana Patrova puts her cats in old masters art. I believe that she inherited Zarathustra from her mother after her she passed away?
OK. I have to admit it. The woman on the left seems to be painted but the cat looks real, And to the left, the guy with the gorgeous wine cork jewellery is obviously alive - but the cat isn't!
Or a pillow... But is he holding the cutout/pillow, or is it Photoshopped into his hands?
