35 Entitled People Who Thought They Deserved More Than Everybody Else But Got Shamed Instead (New Pics)
We’re all familiar with the saying that beggars can’t be choosers—if you desperately need or want something, then you should be willing to sit down and be humble. How often does that happen, though? Honestly? Not as often as it should. The world’s full of arrogant, privileged choosing beggars who think they’re royalty and throw a fit if someone can’t meet their unfair expectations.
The worst of the worst get shamed on r/ChoosingBeggars, a community of nearly 2.2 million people who call out people who are being way too picky when begging for things. If you’re ever in a situation where you’re unsure if what you’re doing is right or wrong, the ‘Choosing Beggars’ subreddit is your North Star on how not to behave.
Have a look through some of the most popular recent posts about choosing beggars, upvote the ones that infuriated you the most, and let us know if you’ve ever dealt with similar people in your lives, dear Pandas. Many choosing beggars either want huge discounts for products that their hearts are set on or… they want things completely for free or exposure. Calling these people ‘cheap’ would do a disservice to just how impolite and demanding some of them truly are.
Rudeness and a false sense of entitlement are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to choosing beggars. You see, they think they’re special and that the entire world has to dance to their tune because… well… just because!

A representative of the London-based Freelancer Club explained to me in a previous interview about saying ‘no’ to unpaid work. The organization aims to put a stop to exploitative unpaid work and late payments in the freelance sector.
“We are working hard to change the culture around working for exposure, experience, prestige, and the promise of paid work in the future by educating new and aspiring freelancers. We highlight the impact it has on their career, show them how valuable they are, and work on their self-worth,” the representative told Bored Panda earlier. “On the company side, we show them how paying freelancers fairly is better for their bottom line as well as their long-term reputation. In addition, we are pressuring the government to change legislation that will provide more legal protection for freelancers who are clearly being exploited for their talent.”

Funny how parents often cheap out on their babysitters. And by the way: "we want someone who isn't in just for the money!" What in the actual f**k? Those people need to be asked if they would to their job for half the money...
Right!? Like, why wouldnt she be "in it for the money"? It is her job. What is she supposed to be in for? The love of children who she has never met? Her love of baby poop? So much entitlement with that couple!
Load More Replies...Every time I see people with 3 and 4 year olds still in diapers, I'm screaming on the inside. Delays and medical reasons aside, almost no kid that age would still be in diapers if the parents put real effort into potty training them.
Amen to that. Lazy parents. My daughter was out of diapers well before age 2 and I worked full time. You have to teach them, not just expect someone else to train your brat sex trophies. Disgusting mom!
Load More Replies...Who are these parents that expect childcare for nothing? Here's an idea, if you can't afford childcare don't go out and don't reproduce! Idiots
Hey now, don't go trying to introduce reason into this topic...
Load More Replies...Oh. I think I should probably raise my rate then? I generally charge around 10 dollars an hour, but I also have only babysat households with at most 2 kids under 5.
Load More Replies...30 usd for 4 kids is not expensive. People have gotten so used to low balling they don't remember what the price is anymore. I would have stopped answering 50 messages ago
"They're perfect little angels but we don't think it's worth paying very much to change their diapers, bath them, and put them to bed."
"You'll also need to do their laundry, help them with their homework, tutor them in college and take the pictures at their weddings. We want the best for our little angels!"
Load More Replies...Don’t have kids then. Especially so close together. And if you don’t want to pay for someone to care for them.
You think baby poop is nasty. Just imagine 4 year old's. Gross! Age 3 & 4 should be potty trained!! And how dare they try to lower the price!!
(And why would someone have four kids in diapers?? Good grief, people, our planet is overcrowded and dying. Stop breeding like rabbits.)
Two children of 3 and 4 years old should NOT still be in diapers/nappies anyway. In the UK the eldest would be right on the verge of starting primary school, and primary teachers are NOT to be expected to deal with nappies or potty training!
Load More Replies...I want to punch entitled parent. If someone is good, they're worth it. Can't afford it, don't ask and don't say anything. Get grandma to sit if you're gonna have 4 kids.
And pay grandma? Grandmas aren't slaves. They usually love their grandchildren but they also have a life :)
Load More Replies...~25Y ago, society decided for some reason that children and those who bear them are faultless saints who can do no wrong. This kind of entitlement develops any time a sub-group is held up as infallible or precious.
Load More Replies...If they didn't want to spend for babysitting, they should have spent $$ on birth control in the first place!
She (the babysitter) is too nice. I would give up this conversation as soon as they wrote she is "expensive", and suggested half a price.
I have learned, through many experiences, that any kids referred to as "angels" are feral little twats and that their so-called "parents' don't see supervision as their personal job. This entry does exactly nothing to alleviate that perspective, if the parent's behavior is any indication.
Nor does their having 3- and 4-year-old children who aren't yet potty trained!

It was probably an attempt to be coy. Nauseating, isn't it?
Load More Replies...Off topic, but what’s up with all the question marks?
I've seen this before, and I think I've commented on it, I just have to speak out again. I am the oldest of five, all born within six years. Only two of us were girls, but that's irrelevant, all of us together were a damned lively bunch. It doesn't matter how well behaved a brood like this is, or how early they go to bed, keeping on top of them all at the same time takes tons of energy and patience, it's controlled chaos at best! Asking for someone (other than family) to watch them at cut rates is BS. My parents never even did that. They might have asked family to look after us on occasion, but I know they either paid for the babysitting or bought dinner for everyone, something to compensate. In fact, they paid one of my aunts a very decent rate for babysitting on purpose so she could buy uniforms, school supplies, etc., for the Catholic high school my grandmother insisted she attend. Until this couple gets their act together, I hope they never have a date night.
They want someone who isn't in it for the money? They don't understand the way any of this works, huh?
These period who think people work for the love of it!! We all work for money,.,, as a nurse, I've often been told the money shouldn't count, it's a vocation!! You can bet your life, too, that these people are well off!👿
Pretty please? As if that's a negotiating term. Pathetic of the parents to not pay for the quality care they need. I'm glad you stood her ground
“Hubby and i decided on 15 with a possible bonus” “We want someone who love our kids and isnt? Its just for the money?” bet u they are the same kind of ppl that complains that “everyone wants everything for free”
"I promise they're angels" "oh but you'll love them"........that's nice but I still wanna be paid. Especially for 4 kids under the age of 5 that's insane. Kids being "angels" doesn't mean anything cause everyone has bad days even "angels@
Kudos to this individual for standing up for themselves! These parents are clearly living in an alternate reality.
DOnT do this. Ever. How would you like it if you went to work and your boss said “I was looking for someone who would love to work and not have a life. Is It really all about the money? I don’t want to tell corporate and other businesses how bad of an employee you are but….” Also what is with all the irregular Question marks
Those people and companies that suggest to others that they should work for exposure instead of for money end up showing everyone how they view others and what they think they’re worth.
“Many see freelancers, particularly in the creative sector, as hobbyists and believe they can get away with ‘paying’ in exposure. They leverage their audience size, their brand name, or the allure of gaining recognition. This is why services in exchange for exposure is commonplace in glamourous sectors such as fashion, music, and film,” the rep from the Freelancer Club said.

“From a freelancer point of view, they are often told that working for exposure is a rite of passage or an essential part of building a portfolio by their teachers, college professors, and peers. This has created a culture of exploitation that we must address at both ends. At Freelancer Club, we take a hardline and suggest freelancers say ‘no.’ The issue is that some ‘freelancers’ are individuals with a passion who will freely give their work away for exposure whilst professionals rely on payment to survive. This muddies the water.”

Sometimes I'll call someone to give me a bid on some work (remodeling, landscaping, etc) , and it turns out to be like 4x more expensive than I expected, and there's no way I can afford it. And I actually feel BAD, and sort of embarrassed, for wasting their time. I'm really confused by people who think they have the right to be rude and insulting when someone charges more than they want to pay.
I mean, there’s a middle ground to be had here. Obviously you should be polite when you find out something costs more than you can afford, but self-recrimination over something like that isn’t necessary in order to be a decent person.
Load More Replies...my nephew invited me to his wedding (nice), but they scheduled it to be on the beach in Jamaica (too expensive for me).... They must have not been able to find a local hometown church or hall to hire, so now everyone is expected to fly to the Caribbean and spend two grand each (or more) to give them a fitting celebration & send-off. Hmm.... I replied back that my situation at that time couldn't afford this sort of a luxury, but I would like to come to the reception planned back home after their two week honeymoon in Jamaica was over. No invitation to the reception back home was forthcoming, since he was mad that his uncle would not give him this sort of ego fulfillment ... fine, no wedding present was forthcoming from me, I am usually quite generous. He has had nothing to do with me since then. He must not be able to forgive, forget, & move on, even though I did not do anything wrong. Grudges are poison.
I think, it should have been on their dime. Not yours.
Load More Replies...the dept. chair at the local jr. college recruited me several times to come to work for him part-time. I said to let me know when a full-time staff position opens up. I told him I did not have the stamina to work a part-time job at night on top of the full-time job I already held. He said it was dept. policy that you have to work part-time (unbenefitted position) to invest enough "dues" to be allowed to bid on a full-time job. I know one guy they worked for seven years as a part-timer before they took him on staff. They gave him a very irregular day & night schedule, not just night classes, so he could not hold a benefitted full-time day job at the same time. So I walked out, nope, don't want to play that way. I understand it has become common in higher education to play this game. They could easily consolidate two part-time teaching positions into one full-time position, but they don't want to pay anything towards benefits and retirement for the teachers. Talk about exploitation! Sometimes educators with doctoral degrees are supposed to hang on like this for years as part-timers in hopes that someone will finally resign, retire, or die. Even then, there is no guarantee that they will get the full-time tenure-track job they have been waiting for.
