Nature is already quite majestic, but did you know, that wombats have almost perfectly cube-shaped poop? Or that kiwis are practically blind and forage mainly by smell? And, believe it or not, axolotls can regrow lost limbs and even grow new ones! Nature is just full of surprises and weird animal facts.

Bored Panda has chosen a few of the more unexpected animal facts, with which you can definitely blow your colleagues' minds. Just be sure to remember at least one of them in the time of need. And if you thought that human life is rather complex, then after checking these illustrations and animal trivia compiled by A. Stiffler and K. Copeland in a series called Nature is Magic, you might just think otherwise.

Don't forget to check their website called ChaosLife for more fun facts about animals!

How does that work? You take the butterfly on a binge weekend and ask it to choose between flower juice and blood?

City dwelling birds can be really good at imitating sounds, I got fooled by a magpie into believing that there was a kitten stuck on a tree. And it happened to some of my friends as well.

That's because they are basically made of stem cells - they are stuck in a biological development limbo (think puberty). If they are injected with iodine, it actually resumes their ontogeny and they become a salamander.

It's called cribbing (or crib biting) involves a horse grasping a solid object such as the stall door or fence rail with its incisor teeth, then arching its neck, and contracting the lower neck muscles to retract the larynx

Yeah, a horse that engages in this has ALWAYS obtained the habit while being "stalled". They begin by seeing other horses do it and it is because of SEVERE BOREDOM and lack of mental stimulation and space to roam and graze. It is sad. (Horse people call this "cribbing".)

I had two horses that were cribbers- they get addicted to it, like smoking. It's a terrible habit- there's a much higher incidence of colic with cribbers- which can be dangerous if not fatal

It could be dangerous because they could inhale something and choke. So most of the time you'd put on a 'cribbing collar'

Leased a horse who was a cribber because he had been previously abused with his first owner off the track. It was sad. He was such an amazing horse would do whatever you asked. Didnt care about anything

We have a horse that does this. Jenny is her name. She only does this after eating grain. She licks the top board of the fence then bites it and then grunts while flexing her neck muscles. She only does this 3 or 4 times and then she is done.

One of the horses in the stable did this alot when it came here, but thankfully after a summer running free in the pasture(huge valley made of woods rivers and fields) he started to stop doing this and is not not doing it at all.

Well, much food colouring and flavours comes from grinded lice, fungi, and microorganisms.
