In our opinion "One man's trash is another man's treasure" should be the slogan for every thrift store in the world. Thrift stores are magical places where you can be thrown back a couple of decades back and find something that you've wanted for a very long time. If your hunt succeeds, your goodwill finds will be something you can definitely brag about.

Some people think thrift stores, yard sales, and flea markets are nothing but places to find piles of junk that other people don't want. Others see them as veritable treasure troves full of goodies just waiting to be discovered. And, as you can see from this list of best thrift store finds compiled by Bored Panda, it seems like both of those camps are correct.

While some lucky folks have managed to add signed copies of Hemingway novels and Arnold Palmer's old trunk to their collection of thrift store finds other people have parted with their well-earned cash for...well...just see for yourself. Our picks of best goodwill finds are sure to make you at least a tiny bit jealous, so go out there and find your own pot o' gold!

Hey! That's my find! :) still love treasure hunting at thrift stores. This beauty was a few years back but is not even my most valuable or improbable haul. These bills were neatly stacked in a bank enveloled and slid into a pocket i almost didnt notice because of the tiny zipper lodged under the seam of the purse. It was a black 1990s fossil rio off as i recall. I sell vintage bags and many are worth a lot but this just took the cake...lol... I Still have the twos....the rest of thr bills are gone unfortunately.

Allright all you easily fooled fools. Do a simple google search for "Stephen Hawking Signature". Then compare to this obvious forgery. As someone else said, Stephen Hawking can hardly hold his own head upright. To think his signature is as flowing as this is the pinnacle of stupidity. "But he signed it in -96".. yeah, but he became tied to a wheelchair in -74 and couldn't get out of bed or feed himself.

This reminds me... In 1997, I designed t-shirts that we sold to finance a school trip to Africa. 10 years later, I am sitting in a restaurant and I see an older guy walking in, wearing one of my t-shirts, hundreds of miles from where they were sold! I asked him where he got it, and he didn't remember. And he said he never set foot in the city where we sold them. "The mystery of the travelling t-shirt"...

I've never understood the fascination with diamonds/rubies/emeralds etc. Gold I can understand, because it doesn't tarnish, but the gems could equally be coloured glass as far as I'm concerned.

When my father passed away, we needed his driver's license info for some paperwork, and when I opened his wallet, I found a folded up $50 bill in the back. I told Mom it was his last gift to her and she should buy herself something nice. We found a beautiful winter coat on clearance in a catalog - she loved that coat for the rest of her life.

I saw some people come in looking for a box that they had placed their savings in once and it was never found. They were devastated. You might want to let the thrift store know that you found a wallet with money in it so that if someone comes in they could describe it to you. Accidents happen and you never know how much that person may have needed that money :)

if that watch is 121 years old it must have been kept wrapped up in a steel box in a vacuum chamber the whole time. also designed by a time traveller, cause that's a modern watch. elgin always made cheap watches, they don't age well. that's not platinum.

My grandfather actually grew up and was best friends with Arnold Palmer. Both were taught golf by Arnie's dad, Deacon Palmer. He was in my Grandad's wedding, and he said my grandad could have gone pro if it wasn't for health which kept him bedridden the last 3 years of his life. I always think about how my life would have been different if he wasn't sick. I probably would have taken up golf myself, but I never did. Rudolph Melichar will be the legend that could have been.

I think its in poor taste. How comfortable would you be to have your grandparents walk in your home and see this? It it would be awkward then they shouldn't be there. If you have grandparents who would think it funny or wouldn't even notice, well then rude and crude is too deeply ingrained in your genes and nothing I could say would make any sense to you anyway.

There's a guy on Youtube, his channel is called "Cody's Lab". He's got a video called something like "Gold from dishes" where he goes to a thrift shop and buys several baskets full of dishes with gold like this. Then he tries to extract the gold to see how much he gets. From 2-3 baskets filled with stuff he gets an extremely tiny pellet worth around 1 dollar. Short version: Your plate and cups might get you 0.01usd if you're lucky.

no, this is NOT a huge trend in Mexico at all... in embarrasing and just a small group of people use it for some strange and ridiculous reason. This doesn't represent my country whatsoever

The reason it's brand new is that it's just too easy to use a normal wine opener. Why bother with that whole contraption just to open one bottle?

That's horrible! That could be a family member someone has been searching to find for 30 years. If these REALLY are human remains they should go to the police for DNA testing.

I think that might be 'Choking Charlie'. When you administer abdominal thrusts correctly the ball that was 'choking' him pops out of his mouth. It's on a cord though, so can go back in for the next person to practice on. The one behind looks like a CPR mannequin. As a sex doll he would be pretty austere looking.
