tell me please

No, no you are not.

I’m a little more confident now, but a few years ago that was pretty much my only thought the whole time. And whenever someone did point out anything I did mildly well, I felt like it wasn’t that special if I was able to do it. Find something you like to do that’s productive in some way, it works wonders in your self esteem.

No, you are not alone. When I realize I'm feeling that way I try to focus outward, doing something for another person or other people. Being helpful may not be considered a talent, but it is an admirable trait. Volunteering to help out locally in a retirement home, animal shelter, food pantry, school, or library can provide us valuable experience and contacts within our community. Helping a neighbor rake leaves or shovel snow, helps me feel better mentally and physically. Helping a friend update a resume or work on a project makes me feel special for a while. If however, this feeling is coming from a comment made by a friend, relative or random person, don't consider it valid. Decide whether this person makes you feel bad often, and whether you're better off out of their life.
