There is a reason why a dog is perceived as man's best friend. Sometimes they're fun, goofy, and mischievous while at other times, they can be serious, intelligent, and understanding. They're the best boys (and girls!) and many would argue that they are the best pets out there.
No matter the number of positive aspects canines as a species possess, there is one unfortunate downside. Dogs, just like most of the other animals, don't live forever. They age and get sick and slow down. The upside? Pups don't really care about it! Even if they're getting old and their fur is turning grey, they play and love and enjoy life just as much as they did when they were puppies. And even if most people say that lil' baby dogs are when they're the most adorable, we'd like to argue that senior dogs are just as cute. You think you'd disagree? This handsome devil is my big baby, Monty. He's turning 13 next month and his two favourite things are Mommy & food... not particularly in that order. Thanks to the awesome CBD treats he's been getting for about 3 months now, his arthritis is in check & he's actually starting to jump up all the time again! Him & his brother are how I'm able to get out of bed every day. :) Monty1-5ce...2670ad.jpg

I have a turtle. I had another one name Oscar but he died. turtles are the sweetest animals. mine are actually tortoises so they don't live in water. anyway my current tortoise Shelly is so sweet. She cuddles with me and loves to be pet on her head, under her neck, and on her shell. bless turtles, tortoises, and animals.

I found this heartwarming. I just had to put my old girl down. She was 16, deaf, blind, senile and arthritic. She started peeing in the night and waking up in a sodden confused mess. When quality of life is so diminished that quantity of life is just so the human can continue to have the companionship, you know it’s time to say goodbye. She will ALWAYS be my special angel. I had to have my chihuahua Missy put down in 2008. She would not get out of bed and wouldn't eat. She was also in a lot of pain. It's such a hard decision to make. I'm thankful for the years I had with her. I raised her from a puppy.

All my dogs lived more than 12 years. The sad part is that they leave us, and it makes me feel sad. I know they don't live so long, I think this is so unfair; they are only fluffy lovely packs of joy, why they have to get old so soon?

My baby boy rescued me almost 8 years now. I don't know how old he really is, vet told me he was 5 years old when I got him. We met when I moved to Greece and since then we've travelled to so many countries together. He is tired and his body aches...my best teacher all this years. He showed atraction for a perfume that I was keeping for special occasions and since then I wear it everyday even before taking a shower, he taught me every day is special, live the moment and to be grateful for what I have at this very moment.

I had a dog I owned from 11 months to 10 years he was the sweetest dog his whole life and I was heartbroken when he passed away one like equals one prayer that red is having fun in heaven

I have a lab who will be 13 this summer and hasn’t claimed the stairs to my bedroom in two years this morning I Sleep in not feeling well and the next thing I know Odie Is by my bed checking on me we had a real challenge getting him down They’re in love knows no bounds bless them all
