29 Revealing Answers To “What Is Something That Men Do That Lets You Know They’re Insecure About Their Masculinity?”
Interview With AuthorWhen a man hesitates to hug male friends in public or sweats at the mere thought of carrying a female friend’s purse for her, it makes you wonder how come this is such a big deal. But while we all bear different perspectives on the world around us, some of these unexplainable behaviors can reveal a way bigger picture.
People say it has to do with some men being insecure about their masculinity. How come? Well, it’s the fear of losing one's status as a “real man” in other people’s eyes, which makes the guy think he would be looked at as tenuous. There’s an old-fashioned belief that a man has to earn his status through proof of action, or a test of some sort, that makes him the man he really is. And although many men are aware of the fact that this is not how gender works, some still follow this ancient notion of manhood.
So when a TikToker @richtiktoxic asked people “What is something that men do that lets you know their insecure about their masculinity?” his video went viral with 1.1M views. “I’ll go first. As soon as a man refers to himself as an alpha, you know he’s insecure,” said Rich and passed the baton onto other people on social media who had a lot to say on the topic.

I wouldn't say first, but definitely a sign.
Load More Replies...Yes, you're right, but we'll look past these things because we love them and they had a bad day. Plus they apologized and promised it will never happen again.
Load More Replies...Had a friend that got married too young. her husband was a controlling douche. She had red hair, fair skin and green eyes. He demanded that she wear only pink because he thought she looked fantastic in it. She did have some pink clothes, but not a lot. She came home from work to find that he had tossed her dresser off the second story balcony of their apartment and everything that wasn't pink was strewn all over the grass around the dresser. She called the cops, he was arrested, she moved out and served him with divorce papers. To this day, she refuses to wear pink.
My ex told me that he would break up with me if I ever started smoking. (Both my grandfathers smoke and died of cancer). When I told my mom what my BF told me, she looked at me and said, "Start Smoking." He also told me that I was not allowed to get out of a car unless he opened the door for me. My dad said, "If you think he's not going to hit you one day, you are kidding yourself"
My ex told my mom he would marry me if I lost weight. I wasn't even overweight, just not the 120lbs I was at 20y.o. when we met.
Load More Replies...Any kind of controlling behavior is abuse. Shortly after the ring went on my finger my ex suddenly decided it was inappropriate for me to hug any male who wasn't a blood relative - my best friend was a guy and I'll hug him any time I f*****g feel like it, thank you very much. Also, I apparently laughed to loud (??) and my skirts were too short. Um, what? I have always dressed conservatively, but I guess showing your knees is considered "lewd". WTF? I was like HAVE YOU MET ME? He lasted less than a year.
Incels are if anything men who are insecure about not getting what they think entitled to.
Load More Replies...Any man using the term 'Alpha Male' to describe themselves needs to be avoided at all costs. I refer to myself as an 'Omega Male', then I've no expectations to live up to. I just get on with life.
Alpha, as in the version with lots of bugs and not suitable for public.
I saw a fellow panda say a few days ago that Alphas don't actually exist in wolf packs, and they're just the parents of the group.
Always. It’s so lame, because all they’re doing is letting you know that they can’t stop comparing themselves to other men and sizing up other men as competition. I want to be with someone who doesn’t give a shït about the existence of others lol. Not someone who is constantly caring what other people do.
Same for anyone talking about how smart they are. Smart people don't brag about it.
"People who boast about their IQ are lame"- Stephen Hawking.

Bored Panda reached out to the author of the video named Richard, better known by his TikTok handle @rich.tik.toxic. Rich is a successful online content creator and journalist with 333.7k TikTok followers who was happy to answer some questions for us. When asked how Rich got the idea to ask people about the signs of insecure masculinity, the author said that “the video that sparked this entire debate was one created by my good friend Brittany Guzman (@_brittguz on TikTok).”
“It was a reference to a study done in the UK regarding the prevalence of sexual harassment. She encountered an incredible amount of hate comments simply for referencing a study. Men made it known they were unhappy with her bringing this data to light; so much so that at one point I think her video had 100 likes and 1000 comments,” Rich explained.
I love that my wife earns more; it means we have more money. Who cares you which of you has the higher paycheck?
My wife and I do this, but as a joke.... When the bill comes one of us will usually say "don't worry, I got this" even though we have a joint account.
Lmao.... as if the server wouldn't see name on card and figure out its her card and not his
Nah, the server would think it's his mothers card. He would be saved. (Irony)
Load More Replies...Oh yeah, that's an instant dumping. Not only so insecure about himself and his role in the relationship that he has to publicly assert 'dominance' but does it by lying rather than by, say, actually getting a better job if salary means that much to him.
Rather than blaming the boyfriend, why not blame the society that teaches men that they should pay on dates rather than women?
Load More Replies...My Wife is in charge of the finances because I have no concept of (monetary) value. She has all my cards, but when we are out, because of her social anxiety, I have to pay and she just tells me which ones to use.
I make about three times what my husband does so I pretty much always pay. My dad got upset and was like "He should be paying for things. Your money is your money." Like sure, let me down grade my house, car, and favorite venues so we can live off my husband's salary. Every time the check comes they give the bill to him. My husband isn't insecure about it though. Our difference is salary is largely because I got very lucky early on and landed a job in a department where I was able to move up very quickly while I was still in school. He was working through school too but at as a cook and so he was taking entry level office jobs while I was already in management.
People should not be judged on their income. My sister's husband works for a charity and they pay piss-all. He is far more benefit to people on this planet than she is, for all her big salary. Not that they care, they both love what they do. That is what matters. That and being a decent human being.
Load More Replies...What happened in the last few months... so many people posting stupid comments and so many downvotes everywhere
Short for "sympathizers"? Oh no you wouldn't want to sympathize with half of the human race ever. Like I suppose if you say something nice about your mom you're not a "real man". "Real men" despise and disrespect and secretly fear all women I suppose.
No, it's short for "simpering", though you still make a good point.
Load More Replies...@Anthony, So being a "simp", in your words, is just respecting women and giving them the same rights they we deserve? I pity you.
It basically means that a guy is nice to girl just to get laid. Even though it is totally untrue. Because literally the guy is just trying to be civil most of the time
Load More Replies...“In comparison,” he continued: “most videos have five to ten times more likes than comments. If you are not a man who sexually harasses women, why would you be triggered by this study? I realized it's because 'being a man' has become the defining characteristic of men’s self-identity.”
Rich also said that “Pointing out how problematic typical male behavior has become is perceived by men as a personal attack.” According to him, “until men can realize that their biological sex is no more than a scientific category, they’ll be unable to truly define their self-identity.”
I feel like this question does matter. There is a lifestyle/personality difference between a woman who’s slept with a couple of men and one that’s slept with like 100. If you answer and the guy shames you, that’s one thing. If you ask him and he says his number being high is different than yours being high, that’s bs. But asking in itself isn’t toxic.
What do these things say about someone’s lifestyle or personality?
Load More Replies...For me this is all about intention. I believe that couples (whether they are sexually active or not) should be able to have an open discussion about their sexual past for a great number of reasons. However if it is done with the intention of shaming someone, again, that's abuse, not insecurity.
It's never his business, and this is not an appropriate question to ask another adult, ever. Unless a person is a virgin, it's a safe bet that they have had sex in their prior relationships. A guy asking this is a creep with double standards. He will be fine with his prior sexual experience, but not yours. Throw the whole man away.
Women who have had lots of partners are portrayed as loose or a "s**t", but men are seen as "studs" and admired for his prowess. This is the garbage society still shovels out there regarding sex and sexuallity.
I agree with elStiJneriNO, this is not a red flag, this is being responsible with regards to STD's, STI's and VD's.
I agree that asking about sexual partners is okay if it’s about STD’s and STI’s, but I feel like asking when you haven’t been intimate at all yet is a little bit creepy. Also sometimes, they might be asking how many sexual partners you’ve had just to shame you. It really depends on the situation
Load More Replies...I never give a number and I never will - If my now husband had requested I get tested, I would happily do that - but what, who and how many I have done prior to meeting him is none of his goddamned business...
Red flag, eh? Run until you reach the horizon. Life time of insane jealousy.
A lot of people are confusing abuse, sexism, stupidity and ignorance for insecurity.
insecurity is often at the root of sexism and abuse
Load More Replies...My ex stopped taking me fishing when I started catching more fish than he. And I wasn't even bragging about it (not out loud, anyway).
Doesn't just have to be a girl. This should read 'When they get mad someone does something better than them.'
Especially when that includes videogames :p some go crazy - red flag. Some are proud and brag about their gf kicking ass - super green flag XD
I have heard other players (men) are verbally abusive to female gamers when they are not winning or she has better skills.
Load More Replies...Speaking of the answers he received, Rich said a few of them caught him by surprise, “more so because of how accurate and detailed many of the responses were. Just about all of these behaviors are the manifestation of outdated societal norms that men are told to abide by.”
“Things like driving a lifted truck, unnecessary assertions of dominance, and disliking anything feminine were common responses. Those behaviors seem so ridiculous when looked at from an objective standpoint.”
Me and my wife blame each other for everything as a... sort-of-joke (I don't really want to use 'Joke' but can't think of another word that fits). She farts, then says 'Babe that's disgusting!' and I say 'sorry'. I'll forget to put something away, then say, 'Oh Darling, you've left this stuff everywhere!' and She'll say 'Sorry. Can you deal with it for me now?'
What if my husband always blames me? He broke a glass the other day, looks up at me and goes "Your fault." I asked him how it way my fault and he said, "Because you put it in a place I was likely to break it." I responded "I put it on the table.". He said "Yeah, you have to put things where I can't reach them, like on the ceiling, you should really be more responsible."
Goes for every person that blames genders - not necessarily a men exclusive sign
followed by a minimum of three peach emojis.
Load More Replies...I hope she just blocks those pieces of shït. How insecure can someone be before they’re just dangerous?
What they really mean: "Wtf? That seems physically impossible and I admire her, but I can't say that because of my manliness."
oh yeah - and tell the guys to get bent. I do not compare what I can do to anyone but myself. Is there some reason to compare to anyone else? Nope!
What's with some of these insecure little kids that make these kind of remarks?
To avoid this, don't post anything to tiktok. In fact, delete ticktok, in fact, delete all form of social media
Wow, that means I have no freedom to an opinion about anything or self expression. Welcome to any country with a Patriarchal rule that discriminate against women through religion and fear.

“The beauty of the time we live in is that you get to be whoever you want,” Rich said and added: “Don't do yourself the injustice of using outdated gender stereotypes and norms to create your identity. Stop putting value in the contemporary ideals of what is masculine and what is feminine.”
“Masculinity is defined,” he concluded, “as having the traits of someone who identifies as a man. If you identify as a man, you are already masculine. You get to decide what masculinity means for you.”
Everyone who has ever played team sports and had to have a communal shower knows the foot/p*nis size thing is a myth... in fact, its more of an insecurity from those who have big feet but are ashamed of the size of their manhood...
Totally, my mate Tom is only like 5'6 and he's hung like a shire horse, he has very small hands and feet.
Load More Replies...Lol, my husband has size 8.5 , and he's never cared. He cleans , he cooks , he raises kids well, he loves me ... that's what I care about
As a man with size 13 feet I WISH I had smaller feet.... I bang my toes off of everything.
Are they more expensive or are they still considered normal enough size to find in stores?
Load More Replies...Wth, the equivalent to the US size 8.5 in europe is 41,5, which is considered normal here, and to think that size 13 is the same as a 47 EU size, I'd say he prefers to look like a clown Instead.
I'm happily in the 8 and a half brigade. It's awesome, no headaches with finding trainers (sneakers for the Americans here) and I get a chance at obnoxiously bright colours in the largest available women's size.
I'm 173 cm tall..my husband 175 cm.. and we have the same exact foot size , in Italy size 41.. I'm more ashamed for my female big feet than his normal size.. the pro is that I can try the shoes for him when I want to buy him a gift.. and grab his sport shoes when I have to go out to check the mail o to take out the trash 😬
Do men actually worry about the size of their penises, after reaching the age of 18?
Also, if you tell a friend you’re bisexual and the first thing they wonder is if you like them or have a crush on them, think about that. Not telling you what to do, but just think about it.
They’re not worth it if they think you like them. I just say that “I don’t like trash like you that thinks me coming out means I like you”.
Load More Replies...As a straight man, asking other straight men: why do you care if a gay man hits on you? Take it as a compliment, and politely decline. If they're a decent human being they'll move on, no harm no foul.
Exactly what I say. Best compliment I can get at this point in my life.
Load More Replies...A friend of mine came out when we were both in our early 20's, I went with him on his first visit to a gay club to look after him. I'm not much of a dancer so I just stayed at the bar and kept an eye on him. It was the most flattering night of my life! I'm not the most attractive of men, but every guy that approached me made me feel good about myself. It doesn't matter what gender someone is, if they do hit on you, it's probably taken them a lot to work up the courage, just be polite when giving your response and take it a MASSIVE compliment.
It’s part of the way they artificially boost their fragile egos. They’ve convinced themselves that both women and men are going to be just besotted with them and second after being introduced. Most of them are only that magically attractive to themselves.
i would feel good about myself if anyone hit on me. like, you actually like my insecure, overly obsessive, and protective a$$?
The funny thing is that they THEN get angry or sad when you laugh and say that they DEFINITELY aren't your type... ;)
Yes. Half of the comments are sexist trolls showing how inmature and insecure they are
Load More Replies...Being unable to take criticism is pretty much in the definition of 'being Insecure'.
I saw a meme that said "how did you meet your wife" and the wife answered "he just yelled something sexually aggressive at me from a van, and we went from there". Still one of the funniest memes to me
I think both sexes suffer from an inability to handle criticism constructively. We are a hyper competitive market that is super focused on individualism so we are competing against all of our peers all of the time for everything, jobs, promotions, relationships. We are extra sensitive to our own personal flaws because we fear that admitting any flaw will put us behind others but it is to our own determent. One of the things I look for when hiring is someone who can identify their weaknesses and explain what they have put in place to overcome them in the work place.
As a woman, I have seen some women do the same. I've seen posts in other forums where a guy can say something that goes against the grain, and he catches hell.
That's not the point of this article though is it? Every single time someone brings up a problem people have to scream not all men. We know it's not all men but it's a pretty good majority and we need to call out the scary men. Men that are insecure are more likely to be dangerous. Your not all men argument does not help at all it just takes away from what needs to be talked about out in the open bc women and children are murderedand are sexually violated at extremely high numbers bc of these men we call out. Men aren't murdered and arent sexually assaulted in the numbers that women are so it's not all men but it is all women. So just stop. We know everyone faces trauma. We know women are responsible for some of that trauma let's talk about that if you want but stop trying to downplay how serious it is for women and children at the hands of these insecure men. Plus we don't know if you're a good one or a bad one this stuff needs to be talked about in the open and a lot until it stops
Load More Replies...Rich’s TikTok audience is expanding rapidly, but he assured us that he never wanted to be an influencer. “Even calling myself an influencer feels so ridiculous. I was always the person behind the camera. I worked with a few social media celebrities when I was starting as a photographer and videographer creating viral content on platforms like Snapchat and Instagram,” the author confessed.
That would be my assumption. Like those evangelical types who rant about it and then a few months later you find out they've been seeing male prostitutes.
Load More Replies...Exactly. If I hear "No homo" one more time, I'll scream. I've even unsubscribed to otherwise enjoyable YouTubers for that reason.
I read a story where a character did that, especially when he was drunk. Turns out he was gay or at least gay for one guy in particular but he didn't think he deserved to be truly happy so he denied his feelings.
" If a person has to sell you on a specific idea...its probably not true ( i.e. "nice guys/gals" "i dont do drama' etc.)" -my mom.
I'm not gay, but I wish I was bi, imagine enjoying double the amount and variety of people, that would be cool
Isn't this when they don't want to date trans girls, only born girls? Makes sense for me to give it a name.
The preference is valid (like any preference). But the kind of people who use that term tend to be sexist and transphobic.
Load More Replies...WTF is "Super Straight"??? Sounds like a rejected Marvel character that goes around helping architects draw lines.
This is about sexual preference. Being Superstraight just means that the person in question would not like to date a trans person and would prefer only to date cisgender persons of the opposite sex. I don't see how anyone should be vilified for their sexual preference. You wouldn't call out an LGBTQ+ on their sexual preference, you would leave it up to them to make that very personal choice themselves. Please stop the hypocrisy.
yeah... but they'd like their girlfriend to do threesome with one another girl...
Someone like that definitely shouldn’t call themselves super straight in my opinion.
Load More Replies...If someone only wants to have sex with cis people of a certain gender, that is certainly their right. Maybe the name is dumb, but the concept is fine.
OMG I’m just back from arguing with a pair of homophobe girl and guy and they both called themselves super straight ... ha.
How can you be extra straight... youve never knew your pant size cause you didnt want your tailor to accidently see your d**k? So you only ever wear Jnco's
Speaking as someone currently on her period, I can confirm that periods are gross. And man, woman, or other, any one is entitled to be grossed out by used sanitary products or menstrual blood left on the loo seat. That said, unused sanitary supplies are not gross, and a man secure in his masculinity should not hesitate to buy them for the women in his life if requested to do so.
Im a woman and I agree with this. Periods are gross. Or you thinking while changing your pad that periods are so cool and fun and not gross at all ?
They're gross, but it doesn't help when men make a big deal about something that isn't really their business.
Load More Replies...Being that women kinda freak out when I accidentally cut myself, and blood drips on stuff, I think we're on equal terms. People don't generally like seeing blood, wherever it's coming from. As long as we all do our best to keep it cleaned up, we're all good. And, ya, I've bought feminine products at the store for women I've been with. It's not a big deal either. Guys refusing to buy them are weird. It's not like the cashier is going to look at him and say "oh, you're really a woman? Nice beard, Karen."
Not gross, but not a walk in the park with sunshine and butterflies either. It's a natural part of life.
Look how frequently elStiJneriNO is triggered by these. I wonder what that means? I SIMPLY WONDER.
That my work ethics were bad last week. What's your excuse?
Load More Replies...It's a good sentence to know that this guy knows absolutely nothing whatsoever about human physiology and is unlikely to be able to find your clitoris either - even though it's right there! Right out there!!
Yeah, well, the ancient smegma accumulating underneath your unwashed foreskin is far more gross and offensive, Karl.
“However, my life's goal has always been to do everything possible to save the planet. As I got older, I started to realize that without copious amounts of money, the only way I could have a substantial impact would be to put myself both behind and in front of the camera. That's when I started utilizing everything I had learned in the years creating content for influencers for my own content.”
I need one of those insecure men as a referee this morning. Hubby and I are fighting over who gets to wear the forest green sweater in the Zoom meeting.

Load More Replies...I asked my missus to buy me a hot pink backpack. Some idiot told my grandson that pink, apricot, purple, and any light colours are just for girls. Poppy is gonna break him of that misconception
Yes! Go you :) that's what our young lads need, proper secure role models who can enjoy the colours of the world without fear
Load More Replies...Assigning gender roles to colors is one of the worst things humans have ever done.
My two year old boy loves Elsa from Disney's Frozen. He's TWO and she's a strong female role model. Honestly Elsa got him through teething and painful growth spurts and fussy car rides. So for his birthday last year I got him an Elsa shirt (from the girl's section) that was blue and had Anna and Elsa on it. He loves that shirt and wears it all the time. I'm not gonna tell him he can't because he's a boy. That's stupid.
Pink and Blue used to be the other way around until about 1940's... I just think it's weird to get all tweaked about wearing a color that is supposedly "gendered"
Someone like that just sounds like a broody, whining little bitch.
And that would be a lie. No woman has ever talked to you, have then? I mean, you're just that repulsive, right?
Load More Replies...Sounds like kids growing. Unfortunately for all, some never mature past eleven.
I love how confident some young men are about what they love--it's so great.
Rich believes that as much as virality hinges on luck, “the only people that get lucky creating viral videos are the ones actively trying to create them. Fight to get to the front of the line so you have the highest chance of actually getting what you want,” he concluded.
I think this ElStiJ guy or gal or non is missing the point. Men ALWAYS and ONLY show aggression - hyperbole. Yes, but so typical as to be effectively true. We would love to see a real manly side - as in being strong enough to show emotions that make men feel vulnerable like love, compassion, forgiveness, and even sadness or grief, instead of anger, and rage, and aggression, and denial...
Another issue is that women are as much as agressive as Men. But men are physical stronger and women verbal. That's why these comments are filled with agressive talk towards men and boys. Well i m not physical agressive towards women ... So it's fair to expect women not to be verbally agressive. Break the circle!
Load More Replies...The key word some of the trolls are missing here, is 'because'. If you don't cry, because that's not how you cope or deal with things that's fine. If you don't cry because you think men shouldn't, that's less fine and will f**k with your mental health.
As a mother and formerly a wife, I know that men cry. Most just do it privately, because of upbringing, society or being made to feel ashamed for not 'manning up.'
Because men lack the normal, human function to cry and show emotion? Cry all you want. It's natural and it's human.
My fiance will cry when talking about his love for his daughters or expressing how much he hates the way I was treated in the past by ex's and family.
I'm on the fence. I understand who this is targeting (the same people that say 'all lives matter'), but the phrase doesn't belong to one group and one subject matter alone. A girl at work has just split up from her boyfriend, she says 'All men are arseholes' I say, 'most of them, yeah', But when she asks me why all men cheat, I will say, 'Not all men, just the ones you've dated so far.'
So that means all women are prostitutes. Can't have it both ways.
Load More Replies...WE KNOW it's not ALL men, just like we KNOW it's not ALL police - but when they do not step up and call out the assholes - it is effectively all men/police.
men who say 'not all men' are just ridiculous. like not all dogs bite, but when you're constantly around dogs that bite you, you're going to naturally be cautious of all other dogs, no matter what.
If someone was cautious around black people, you'd call them a racist. So that means people who are cautious around men are sexist.
Load More Replies...But it is all women 99% to be exact suffer sexual harassment or violence at some point in our lives usually bc of insecure men. Not all men does not help. It's a saying meant to downplay what women need to voice in order to survive.
Load More Replies...I'd say I'm comfortable with my level of masculinity. I'm happy to admit to people that I love chick flicks, female artists, flower arranging etc. And I'm also happy to say, "Not all men".
You sound so insecure. Utterly and completely. Why are you gendering s**t? Female artists are artists. Flowers are gender neutral chick flicks are movies. Wtf is wrong w you? Not all men does not help! It's meant to shut women up when they want to be heard that's all. Get a grip. You're proving this whole article right. Are you that so unself aware you can't even see it?? Absolutely mind blowing how much men like you project your insecurities onto others and don't even have the slightest clue. Is it a mental block or something? No one can be this dumb can they?? Omg I hope not.
Load More Replies...This implies that all men are the same. So are all PoC, women, Americans or [insert any group here] the same? Didn't know denying such nonsense means being toxic....
Just like COVID, this affects people of all cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds, and yep, it’s most likely MEN doing the abusing.
Load More Replies......but they do. Bad behavior isn't limited to one gender. People who think only men do bad things are sexist.
Load More Replies...As a former heavy drinker, I can quite happily say that the best alcoholic drinks are the one that don't taste like your drinking alcohol. If you like the taste, drink it! But please drink responsibly.
My husband and I both prefer stronger whisky drinks to more fruity drinks because we are not big on sweets in general and whisky taste fantastic on its' own. However, neither of us refer to fruity drinks as 'girly' or make a big deal of it. And if our friends make daiquiris we have no issues drinking them. I agree though, if you prefer a certain drink to another then just order the drink you prefer. No need to try and say one is better than the other. Just preference.
The thing is fruity drinks tend to taste too good and you get too drunk.
I'm not much of a drinker, but I always preferred the "fruity" drinks. I remember being in a bar where even Zima was considered girly.
I know men who wouldn't drink straight-up whiskey if someone put an umbrella in it.
Actually. I would and will pick whisky over sweet drinks any day. I don't drink beer either however. Not picking just any window washer fluid that has label whisky on it to to be a manly man and get drunk but the ones I like (mostly single malt) and in small portions. I can have a sip of some daiquiri though but if I want something to taste like juice I drink juice. If I'd have a drink it would be mojito or cuba libre (rum and coke basically).
Not a fan of Daiquiri, but Koppaberg strawberry and lime, hell yeah!
To quote an joke from a comedian I forget the name of; "You'll notice I talk about women a lot, because let's face it. If I was hungry, I'd talk about food."
Gosh, women do this too, right? Am I missing something about these posts? Maybe neither gender should do this.
I have honestly only met one woman who talked about men all the time, the rest had much broader ranges of conversation. In fairness I haven't seen men do it either but then maybe I wouldn't have, assuming they saved it to boast with other men.
Load More Replies...If it is your only topic of conversation that would be sad. Also depends on what you consider 'praise'.
Load More Replies...I've had that tried on me, but I have a killer grip strength so they only try it once :) still hurts tho! (Edit: my legs are ok-ish for walking and not much else, So I do most chores purely on arm strength where possible, hence crazy grip. One of my only physical strengths ^-^)
LOL I married a baptist guy, I was taught how to shake hands like a baptist. No dead fish handshake here which surprises most men because I squeeze out a strong, firm shake. I haven't shaken hands in a long time now though. It was hard to stop sticking my hand out.
Load More Replies...Someone tried doing that to me, so I dug in my nails (which are strong enough for me to pull staples with). They tried to hold out but finally let me go. Like seriously why do you intentionally try and hurt someone when meeting them for the first time?
I don't shake hands. Ever. I have arthritis in my right thumb, and it hurts, even if it's not a death grip. Thankfully, there's a pandemic on and people aren't grabbing at my hands.
This is the thing... some people have painful hands. People who judge others on their 'good strong handshake' have not taken into account that people can already hurt.
Load More Replies...Side note, I hate handshakes... I always grab fingers by mistake instead of locking in for a solid shake, and think about it for the rest of the day.
I try to have car keys or something in my hand and sort of gesture oop, sorry my hand is busy just now.
Load More Replies...We have a few guys that work for our company do that, I just "pop" their lower knuckle, tends to stop them from doing it to anyone else for a while. I've also taught all the ladies at work how to do it.
I had a medical condition where the nerves in my hands were messed up, causing the muscles to atrophy. If I even suspected the person was going for a strong handshake, I would ask them not to.
Sometimes I just have to tell them 'I don't do that'
Load More Replies...Horrid custom even without the crushing, and it is the woman s perogative to offer the hand or not. Few seem to know how rude it is for a man to try to initiate a handshake with us. After that last crusher about 30 years ago I just won't anymore.
I'm one of those guys that looks like a fatty (and I am) but am actually pretty strong, so I've had a handful of incidents where guys want to go all alpha on me and do the strong handshake thing. I can usually give it back to 'em and then some, which is fun to do while unflinchingly staring them in the eye and smiling the whole time. Every single time I've done that the guy leaves me alone after that, without a word being spoken. :)
Men can wear whatever they want; nice clothes, nice shoes, nice haistyles, nice rings, nice jewelry, nice nails. You know,... like ALL ppl... ;)
Worked with a woman who moaned about this man wearing clear nail varnish. He got them buffed regularly so they were shiny. Had to explain how that worked. Though buffed, varnished... why does it bother other people?
Load More Replies...@JXXXF, FYI, Men wearing nail polish is fine and you're being a b******e.
My husband, our friend, and I all went out to see a movie. My friend and I were getting all dressed up and I did her makeup and my husband was pouting that he wanted to be pretty too so I put super dark red lip stick on him. The guy at the ticket booth couldn't make eye contact with him. My husband did everything in his power to make the guy look him in the eye and keep the conversation going.
Fight me all you want, but nail polish is pretty and everyone should be allowed to wear it
If that offends you, your a f*****g idiot that clearly needs to assess your priorities.
Wait, they get offended when OTHER men wear nail polish??? I can understand not wanting it on yourself, personal preference, but leave other people alone
One of the sexiest men I know wears nail polish all the time. Damn...
Don't you guys, of all ages wish you could be wear'n a nice sparkly nail polish? Bet you do. Girls are so pretty and you are not.
I've never understood that. When I was in High School, we had to different P.E. classes. One was more geared towards casual sports (golf, bowling, badminton, archery etc) and one for contact sports (football, basketball, soccer etc). Guys usually took the "Contact" option (as was intended). I took the other option, and was in a class full of girls wearing shorts, and guys would act like that made me gay. I found this particularly funny when coming from a member of the wrestling team.
lol I remember my hubby was walking with me and another female friend once and two dudes in a truck decided he looked like the gay one in this scenario and they just had to yell f** out the window at him. Because yes, that makes so much damn sense. Homophobes are so damn stupid.
European here, unpopular opinion here... I just don't get the US obsession with trucks full stop... they are ugly, slow, poorly made, a massive waste of space, drive awfully and almost everyone who has one just uses it for their commute or to pop down to Walmart...
Canadian here, who owns an F150. I always thought the same thing, then we test drove one and ultimately bought it. Can't imagine not having the truck now. Amazing in the winters here, super safe for my family with the crazy drivers on the roads, and the number of times we've actually used the bed - from helping family move, hauling kayaks, camping in the bed, etc. I will never not own a truck now.
Load More Replies...What's wrong with a truck with monster truck tires? To each their own. If the douchebaggy attitude that goes with the stereotype exists, that's the real problem, but it's a stereotype. Lots of people like going mudding, so they put big tires on their trucks.
This has nothing to do with insecurity. Why would it be? This is like saying that everything traditionally considered almost exclusively preferred by straight men is just about insecurity. You do what you like to do. And just to let you know, to me monster trucks are ridiculous things but if you like them go ahead. What is actually insecure imo is to not to drive a car that you think is "girly" or "gay".
i feel like this dude may not realize some things.....I have a few male friends with monster truck tries...and it's because they love off-roading and their not d**k heads or insecure and are happily married?..this one's "how to see red flags" may not be one to go off of necessarily, the other people thought I would suggest their advice a lil more.
Wait what? People don't like when a woman compliments them on their appearance? It's nice to hear from anyone, male or female, that you look good today
I think this comment means that when a woman in a relationship comments that ANOTHER man is good looking, then HER man gets butt hurt about it.
Load More Replies...He means when a guy refuses to wear pink cause "that's gay" rather than not wearing pink because it's not their colour.
Load More Replies...This one makes no sense. I won't wear certain colours because they don't suit me or I simply don't like them. Anyone else can wear whatever the f**k they want
I think this is referring to a man who won't wear pink because he thinks it's "girly" and not because he doesn't think it looks good on him.
Load More Replies...I just posted up on another thread that Panda had made it a couple of days without the usual ragging on men posts..... I stand corrected
You mean like Jason Momoa, whose clothing line is pink or black, and he wears the pink? That man kills it
Depends why he won't wear certain colours. They may not suit him or he may have prejudices. Don't dismiss someone till you know the facts.
My husband is a very fair redhead & looks horrible in burgundy, so he doesn't wear it. Has absolutely nothing to do with his security level.
i m girl. First time i saw a k-pop male group, i thought some of them were girls. Nothing wrong with that.
Same with me. I was really confused.
Load More Replies...Korean Pop. Quite good. I actually thought some of them looked or sound like girls when I first heard it

World is changing -usually the one that like them is younger people (gen z)- the older one usually cant get it
World is changing ... usually the one that like kpop is gen z .. the older one usually still cant get it.
It doesn't have to be just k-pop or j-pop. I heard a lot of that in the '80s when long hair on a man was practically de rigueur. If someone is that wedded to hardline standards of masculinity and femininity - whatever the gender of the person in question - they've got some real insecurity issues there.
OKAY YES AGREED. They all feel the need to point out how feminine these kpop stars are, while trying to make themselves more manly.
Imagine! Standards of beauty or handsomeness may vary culture to culture - shocker!
You know how to tell when someone is insecure? When they make comments like elStiJneriNO.
I think it is less about their insecurity and more about their lack of skill when if comes to trolling. It is an art. Give poor old elStiJneriNO time to perfect it.

Maybe they wanted to get a list the easy way for part 2...because if so, it sure worked.

Cant stand it when assholes like that dickhead the situation is talked about and he has his shirt pulled up.

Dismissed James seems awfully familiar.......funny, seeing as punished Edward was removed from BP, and along comes dismissed James with the same attitude and vernacular. Coincidence? Time will tell :)
Personally, I blame the parents. If they hadn't given their sons such false representations of what it means to be a man and that they can be confident in themselves while refraining from being too macho, half of these guys wouldn't make themselves look complete idiots to the people around them.
