It's impressive how consistent practice over some period of time can improve our skills. This applies to various kinds of things, but today, we'd like to focus on artistic growth. The Reddit community ‘Art Progress Pics’ allows artists to show their work and prove how hard work pays back. The members share the photos of their works and compare how they looked when they were starting, and how they got better after they invested some time and persistently practiced to master their skills.

Bored Panda got in touch with Ba Pham, the artist behind Art Wind's Instagram profile. The digital creator, based in Vietnam, is dedicated to character design, and you can admire the evolution of Ba Pham’s art featured in our list.
We wanted to find out more about the artist’s background, and we learned that: “My artistic background is mainly self-study and self-training. I took some online courses to learn the basics. I was intrigued when I saw the device. I started drawing other artists' character designs, and from there I started designing the characters.”

The second one is amazing. But sometimes a portrait that is not 'picture perfect' captures so much more than just the true reflection.
Character design often involves developing unique and relatable personas. We were wondering how the creator of Art Wind approaches the process of creating a character from scratch. The artist shared with us: “The main elements in character design are the character's shape, posture, origin, and personality, those are the main elements that I care about in character design.”

Progress Of My Drawing In 5 Years
Character design can be challenging and this is why we were curious if Ba Pham recalls working on some particularly difficult project or character design. We found out that: “I encountered a lot of difficulties when I first designed a character for a client because the way you design a character for yourself will be different from the way the customer asks you to design a character for them, so I encountered a lot of difficulties in the design process. So I researched a lot to be able to design a character that matched the customer's requirements.”

I have severe ADHD wich means I have both. 3 out of 10K people have Severe ADHD. it sucks. We have tried everything to treat my ADHD but nothing works. (We have tried pills,fidgets,therapy, etc basically everything in the book) any suggestions?
Lastly, asked how the artist’s style and technique evolved over time, Ba Pham answered: “My style has evolved a lot over time as well as I have changed a lot of styles from realistic to animation, I have set myself a workout routine every day, I practice regularly and don't miss a day, so my art has become better in the past 2 years. In my opinion, to be able to develop your art better and faster, you need to learn the basics and fundamentals. Artistic foundation plus practice, process and perseverance.”

Remember new artists! Sometimes, it's not about getting more realistic, it's about going in the direction you're wanting to. Some people on here didn't look super real after months or years, they just found their footing and ran. Find your hand, your style, and focus on that. Only person you can compare yourself to is your past self. Do something awe-inspiring and blow people away!

I agree with this. I admire artists that can make almost hyper-realistic drawings - the skill and the dedication is incredible. However, I prefer art that captures a feeling, mood or essense of something and provides room for imagination. Monet and J.M.W Turner are my favourite painters for this exact reason. It's all personal preference though.
