Giant Mirrored Building Facade Turns Visitors Into Spiderman

If you happen to be in France rigth now, you can finally make your old dream come true! A giant mirrored building facade by artist Leandro Erlich will instantly turn you into a Spiderman. The installation is called Bâtiment (Building) and is currently on display at Le 104 in Paris as part of their In_Perceptions exhibition. Do you remember the Anamorphic Typography by Joseph Egan we’ve posted earlier? Well, Truly Design made this cool Medusa illusion using the same eye-deceiving technique called anamorphosis. This challenging work was implemented in the factory/urban lab which hosted Sub Urb Art.

Young Chilean artist Fredo draws absolutely mind-blowing three-dimensional pencil drawings that look like they’re about to jump off the page. Well, actually, he’s already 20 years old at the time of writing this article, but our title is not completely a lie – majority of his works were submitted to Deviant Art back in 2008 or even 2007 when he was 16-17 years old. Some of his 3d drawings took him only 30 minutes to complete, but there were cases when he needed a whole month.

3D Grass Globe Illusion at Paris City Hall

Today, we want to show you another wonderful 3D illusion which is installed in front of the steps of Paris’s city hall. French artist François Abélanet created this incredible 3-dimensional grass globe with the help of about ninety workers and called it ‘Qui croire?’ (‘who to believe?’). When viewed at a certain angle it looks as though it was a large sphere.

Fake Swimming Pool by Leandro Erlich

Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich has constructed a full-size fake swimming pool, complete with all its trappings, including a deck and a ladder. When seen from the deck, the pool appears to be filled with deep, shimmering water. In fact, a layer of water only some 10 centimeters deep is suspended over transparent glass. Below the glass is an empty space with aquamarine walls that viewers can enter.
