Twitter Users Get Suspicious Over Many Tweets From Amazon Employees That Promote Their Working Conditions
Amazon enlisted an army of fulfillment-center employees to write positive comments about working in its warehouses on social media. They are called “FC Ambassadors.” The company claims that real people are behind these accounts, however, people think there’s something fishy about them. Pointing out the “robotic” and “scripted” language, many believe that Amazon is using these “workers” to defend its reputation.
FC in Amazon-terms stands for Fulfillment Center—the largest warehouses in the company’s logistics network. Many of them clock in at around 1 million square feet. When you hear furious workers talk about peeing in bottles because they’re unable to walk to the bathroom, these are usually the facilities they have in mind.
Someone recently pointed out that tweets from Amazon FC Ambassadors seem fishy

“FC ambassadors are employees who work in our FCs and share facts based on personal experience,” Amazon told Bored Panda. “It’s important that we do a good job educating people about the actual environment inside our fulfillment centers, and the FC ambassador program is a big part of that along with the FC tours we provide. This year alone, more than 100,000 guests have come to see for themselves what it’s like to work inside one of our FCs. If you haven’t visited, I recommend it.”

There have been times when the only ones who liked FC Ambassadors’ tweets were Amazon executives

Here’s what others said about all of this
However, Amazon also noted that, “some of the accounts involved in this news cycle are spoof accounts; they aren’t a part of the FC Ambassador program.”

Share on FacebookI work in a distribution center for another company. Every time we hire new employees we get at least half a dozen applicants who come from amazon. Each and every one of them say they are leaving amazon because it has caused them emotional hardships, and is not a good place to be employed
I really don't get why they can't just treat their employees better? It would save them a lot of time and humiliation instead of doing stupid things like this sh*t show.
Yeah but this way saves them a lot more money. Guess which one is more important.

The way government programs work should be changed so that big corporations can't exploit it by using it to subsidize their meager wages.

Don't think it's the grammar that gets me, but the fact that no one just *says* this stuff. "Hi friends! Did you know that I have a perfectly normal job! Thanks!"
Load More Replies...So many of these tweets sound like the kinds of questions on internal surveys. "My manager gives me the tools I need to perform my job satisfactorily--Rate 1-5, 1 for completely disagree and 5 for agree completely." That's EXACTLY what they sound like.
Amazon sounds like a reflection or representation of MOST corporations. A few (rather large companies) I worked for in the past are like this too. I can't trust ANY reviews or responses on places like Glassdoor.com - there's a million ways to shill. So 10 out of 10,000 employees are "treated well " (because they're all besties with each other or are related to the head honchos) ... and are paid straight up to do good reviews. The bad reviews are only considered "legit" when you can describe incidences... but the MOMENT you do... then they can figure out who you are... and retaliate. It's happened. It's why I had to leave one of the companies.
"Taking a perfect picture of the perfect values here at perfect Amazon"---anyone else think that that mural was very poorly designed? No real human being with any sense of aesthetics would view that vinyl wall sticker with anything other than derision.
I worked at an Amazon picking centre for three weeks a few years back. Here's what I found. Brutal countdown timers. Chasing the day away in dark corridors, 30 seconds at a time. 10 hours a day of fast walking, heavy lifting, and very little fluid intake. If you stop for a drink, the countdown keeps going, and your percentages drop......then the little hitlers that employ you through the agency, and are based on site, pull you over for 'a chat'. Seriously, you get mildly reprimanded because you need a drink. I was there for three weeks, and never took on enough fluid to ever need to use the toilet. I have no idea where the toilets were in that place! You get a 20 minute break in the morning, the same in the afternoon, and 40 minutes for lunch. The problem is, if you're working at the far end of the warehouse, it'll take you ten minutes to get out, and almost the same to get back to where you left your picking trolley/totes.....and the clock is ticking.
Your breaks consist of much the same as your work time.....walking really fast!

I completely understand that a little a*s kissing is sometimes necessary but jeez, you still need to be able to face yourself in the mirror.
There is an old adage about business that is absolutely true: You can have two of these three. You can never have all three. 1) You can have it Fast. 2) You can have it Cheap. 3) You can have it Good. In order to have it fast, you have to have it must either sacrifice low price or good quality. In order to have it cheap, you have to sacrifice speed or quality. In order to have good quality, you have to sacrifice speed or low price. It's impossible to have all three. Now look at those "Leadership Principles" again. They want Frugality (price), Insist on Higher Standards (quality), and "Bias towards Action" (speed). You can't have all three. And, considering faster delivery and shipping are the biggest driving factors, I guess you can see what's left. Either price or quality. Well, the quality of about 3/4 of what's on Amazon is garbage, at best and price of the stuff worth having isn't any better than the price you'd pay on other websites.
I finally made the decision to delete my Amazon account after I came across a news article about the OKC fullfillment center showing ZERO interest in funding a bus stop for their employees with the local transit system. Considering my own company (which is about 1/100th the size) does this, this is just plain wrong. It's bad enough the other things we hear about them, but this? After all the abuse they go through? They can't be bothered to make it easier for their employees to get in to work or go home safely? My Amazon account being deleted doesn't stop me from shopping. It just means that I have to shop from more than one place. And, by the way, if it's low prices you're looking for, what's the point? Amazon price-fixes their sellers from under-cutting prices on Amazon while selling on other websites. Buh bye, Amazon...

Holy s**t. I couldn't stop laughing. All these tweets read like what filmmakers of in the 1970's thought AI robots would talk like.
I worked in UK Amazon DC and it was bad everyone in my town knows not to work there
Has anyone else seen the John Oliver where he talks about the Amazon working conditions? It’s terrible... I don’t believe these are real people.
Tours of their warehouse so you can see how good the conditions are? I bet Amazon calls it The Theresienstadt Fulfillment Center.
Ah yes Jeff Bezos is a product of (checks notes) socialism...? You have written some dumb things on this website, but this takes the cake.
