If you don’t have a neighbor horror story, you might consider yourself a lucky one, as quite a few of us have likely encountered an aggravating one or two. Some stomp around as if they roam from room to room doing cartwheels, others sing louder than they should—the volume often seems to be positively linked with lack of musical training,—a few start picking fights over matters that don’t even matter; the list goes on and on.
If one of these situations already evoked a sigh or flashbacks—we’re sorry; if not, scroll down to find one that likely will. Today, we have listed some of the most patience-testing, anger-inducing, plain-annoying neighbors out there, as shared by the ‘Mildly Infuriating’ subreddit. Covering everything from shoveling snow—or poop—into others’ territories to shooting firearms inside apartments, and so much more, these sure are some colorful examples of just how unhinged some neighbors can be.

2-3 Times A Week, I Collect Syringes From My Balcony. This Is How My Super Old Neighbor Is Trying To Get Me Evicted, As She Believes That My Roommate And I Are Gay, And She Thinks All Gay People Are Addicts
Insanely insulting but, simultaneously, hilarious that she thinks that that's what a drug addicts paraphernalia looks like or that people who use needle-drugs can sustain a clean home and disposition.
Wow, those are HUGE. Why does SHE have such a surplus of them? sorry you have to deal with that.
Yep. Look like veterinarian syringes I used dose my horses with.
Load More Replies...Call the police and report her for throwing infected needles onto your property. If you can get her on camera then that will be a bonus
Don't touch them with your hands, you'll leave fingerprints on them. I doubt she's smart enough to know she's doing that too, so if she should ever call the police on OP, they'll only find out that the syringes were from her
Fingerprints aren't very reliable -- they're frequently smudged or too partial to be of use, and the oil from your skin (which is what a fingerprint is) is oil. Leave the item out in the sun for very long, that oil is going to get melty, blurring any fingerprints. Which, by the way, it turns out are not *that* unique in the first place. But you're right, don't touch them with bare hands -- you don't know where that needle has been.
Load More Replies...those syringes are also far to large for what addicts use... even law enforcement would know that (and see it for what it is)...the woman is not only delusional she's ignorant too ,she probably doesn't realise that her behaviours will be monitored also, had a similar neighbour years ago,the local housing authority saw right through her complaints, yes some were valid but most weren't....she complained she could hear excessive laughter from my property (I was alone watching a comedy on TV, didn't complain about TV noise just me laughing), vacuuming in the middle of the afternoon, yet not a peep when I had lady friends over and we were obviously having a very good time 😉😉😉
So there's this pharmacy somewhere in town that's convinced she's an addict or a dealer as she weekly buys syringes?
She's trying to get you evicted, so someone such as a landlord has oversight. Bring them the evidence and have HER kicked out for littering, harassment, plus endangerment if any of them have actually been used. Set up a camera to show that they are thrown, dropped or placed there daily by another party. Why drag this out and transform it into your routine?
Kids Are Having Fun With Friends So A Neighbor Reported To Hoa That They Must Be Running A Childcare
Wow, kids aren’t even allowed to play together any more?? That’s just shameful, picking on the kids. Let them have their fun, FFS. They’re not hurting anyone! 🤦♀️
The sounds of happy children playing must be driving the neighbour crazy. Children having fun = 😡😤
Load More Replies...Never never never never never will I live in a home in a HOA neighborhood.
There is a house down the street from mine that has so many kids it looks like a daycare and there are many kids of the same age my friend and I call them "the daycare on 126th"

I don’t see the problem from a weight point of view. I would imagine that the balcony is built to hold 50 / 60 stone (several large adults and some extra weight for safety). I don’t think this looks anywhere near that. There is a safety concern about things falling off the balcony.
Load More Replies...That is dangerous. I think it should be reported. What if one of those bikes fall and hit whoever is below?
Don’t those balconies have a weight limit? They’re gonna be left with a door to nowhere! 😅

That's not "storage", that's dumping rubbish, honestly
Load More Replies...One doesn’t necessarily have to be friends with those living around them; but a good rule of thumb would be not to make their life any worse either. Yet some people don’t abide by such rules, this way likely encouraging their neighbors to consider moving away.
In Britain, for instance, as much as 60% of people seemingly don’t get along with their neighbors, according to a Daily Mail survey; nearly 30% of them say they would never socialize with the people living nearby.
When it comes to the US, the situation might seem worse, as nearly three-in-four (73%, to be exact) of them dislike a neighbor, LendingTree reports. However, on the upside, roughly as many of them like at least one person in the neighborhood.
My Neighbor Shoveling His Backyard Into Mine
If that was me he did that to a snow ball fight would break out real quick
They're probably too lazy to move the snow somewhere responsible and decided to just toss it over the fence so that it becomes someone else's problem.
Load More Replies...Go out and start shovelling it back into his yard right in front of him while he is doing it
Our neighbor blows leaves into our yard. His justification is that the trees are on our side and we won't accept Jesus. Really.

The pictures on the list are just some examples showing what makes certain neighbors difficult to bear, but the reasons are nearly limitless. Some of the most common ones, though—for Americans, at least—include neighbors giving off a “weird vibe”, as well as being loud, rude, or nosy; their pets causing trouble is also in the top five.
Another reason some people are far from fond of those living nearby is the latter not upkeeping the exterior of their property; apparently, this annoys as much as 16% of Americans.

My Neighbor, Everyone. He Parks Like This When His Wife Isn't Home And Moves It Back When She's Back So They Can Both Park On One Of The Few Spots With Shade. This Has Been Happening For Months
I’ve heard if you park like that, one of your tires can mysteriously go flat overnight 🤔
One? That can changed. Two, now that’s a real pain to sort out 😀
Load More Replies...Well, the rest of the neighbours should park around and behind him, so that he can't move his car. And keep his car "locked" for a whole day. It's not illegal, you don't need to even touch his car, and he'll learn a valuable lesson. If he doesn't learn, next time it's two days.
I would pull in parallel beside him so he could not open his driver's side door.
Do a lot of birds nest in those trees? Maybe give them a little extra food (spread some bird-seed around/on top of their car when they’re not watching) & watch their cars get heavily crapped on. You could also leave out some blackberries & watch their car get a new shade of purple, LOL. 🤣
Every time they do this, remove one small item from the car, like a hubcap, then a windshield wiper...
I would call the cops or local council because it's at least a council infringement if not illegal.
I think it can be towed. Contact the authority who owns the car park and let them know. Alternatively, wait until they both are out and return the favour by parking 2 cars there and discuss it with the neighbours about putting their cars there when you have to go out
We Were Going To Have A New Robin Family - Until Our Neighbor Poisoned His Lawn And The Parent Robins Ate From It And Died
I guess it's too late now, but if a nest is abandoned, take the eggs to a bird saving organization ASAP. We did the same when the red tail nesting in our backyard got killed by a magpie and her eggs were abandoned.
Okay, this actually hurt me. BAD. I didn't expect to come across actual animal cruelty in this thread (my bad, I know). :-(

LendingTree revealed that the antipathy Americans feel towards their neighbors is not only based on what the latter do—or don’t do, for that matter—but also on competitiveness. It pointed out that as much as 17% of them feel financially pressured to keep up with those living around them; among those with a homeowners association, the number rises to 36%.
Despite the competition, a similar number of people—37%, to be exact—would rather have neighbors with the same views regarding a certain important matter: you guessed it right, political beliefs.
So For The 15th Time Now, Our Neighbor Called Out The Fire Department When I Started My Smoker. Claiming That I'm Burning Trash. At Least The Full Truck Didn't Come Not This Time
Let the FD know you are firing it up and have put some extras on for when they are called out.
They’re going to get into serious trouble for abusing 911 for something they know isn’t a real danger & they will truly regret their actions when they get a hefty fine for wasting time (& potentially putting others in danger, who could’ve been helped sooner, if it weren’t for their false alarms). I’d keep some popcorn close at hand for that moment, LOL. 🤷♀️😏
But they’ll call the fire department because you used a microwave 😱
Load More Replies...I know people who call the fire department and say hey I live at xxx I'll be using my smoker so there will be a smell of smoke and possibly some visible smoke but all is well
I have had the FD called so now my husband stands outside to make sure everyone knows we are cooking. Most of the neighbors know us as the people who grill but people driving by call 911.
Little does the neighbor know that when you fire up the smoker your letting them know that when the neighbor calls to complain its dinner time, come and get it.
Do that around here, and the fire people fine you for false reporting. And it's not a small fine.
Built A 7 Foot Privacy Fence. Neighbor Raised His By 2 Feet And Put A Camera Facing Into My Backyard
How is that legal? It's literally ONLY watching you. Maybe, on YOUR fence, put up a scary picture or something? I have a much more malicious idea though.
It's not legal in the US. You cannot put a camera facing into someone's fenced backyard, into their window, or anywhere else on their property where they have Reasonable Expectation of Privacy. My neighbor is a convicted child s3x offender and we consulted a lawyer before installing our cameras, as one of them looks at our shared driveway.

Load More Replies...This one has been doing the rounds, I think he solved it by clamping a 2x4 directly in front of the camera on his side of the fence as it could move it if the camera is moved.

yep chuck it back, and video it too ( yes sounds gross) but it's for your own protection,it's evidence incase they try to exaggerate and twist any narrative for their own gain
Load More Replies...Exactly. Even if they have a whole bunch of dogs it's going to take weeks for that amount to pile up and dry out. Why did they let it carry on for so long rather than do anything about it?
Load More Replies...Throw it back over with a shovel and make sure it scatters across her garden
It's not being thrown into the OP's yard, it's over the back fence into probably a right of way for poles, or just undeveloped land. The bad neighbor also seems to toss their lawn and yard trimmings over too.
The reasons for Britons hating their neighbor seem to be similar to those living in the States; from troublesome pets to unattended gardens, they seem to hate it with a passion equally as strong. However, the things that annoy them more than anything else are not the same as those of their American counterparts, as people in Britain seem to be aggravated by annoying driving habits the most. According to the Daily Mail, there’s nothing worse for them than someone blocking their driveway or parking in their space.
Another thing Britons detest—number seven among the 20 reasons they hate their neighbor—is the latter hosting too many late-night parties. Ironically, reason number 19 is neighbors getting annoyed when the Britons themselves have a party.
I Put Up A Fence To Keep My Thieving And Incredibly Nosy Neighbor Out. He Then Puts Up A Camera So That He Can Look In

This Poorly Written Letter From My Passive Aggressive Neighbor Telling Me To Remove My 'Legally-Owned' Plants From My Property
I completely doubt that 14 other people got together with this jerkwad just to complain about fake plants
it's the classic, manipulative controller....they often use the line "everybody else thinks so too" to undermine people into compliance of their ideals (I've been reading alot about behavioural psychology lately)
Load More Replies...I feel so sorry for any possible future potential buyers who are so terrified of artificial plants that they have to literally run away from them! Lovely of the author to worry about them.

Load More Replies...Someone Anonymously Sent This To My Neighbor
Can't blame them for being upset about the barking tho. Why can't people train their doggoes? Sometimes they bark 24/7 and that hard to live close to even if you are a dog lover.
True, but there are also people who hate dogs, and even if the dog barks for ten seconds they will complain. We don't know what the situation is here. The dog may bark a lot and drive everybody crazy, or it might be a normal dog, that barks in normal situations, and the neighbour is an a*****e.
Load More Replies...You could probably get it checked for fingerprints? That’s a direct threat to the life of the dog & that’s not okay. I can understand the issue with dogs barking at unreasonable hours & it’s important for the dog’s owner to address that … but that is NO excuse to threaten the doggo! 🙅♀️
I am not a native english speaker, and this kind of bad spelling drives me nuts. I would get a lower grade in school for such c**p. Same goes for where/wear/were which I see quite often. Native speakers treat it like they are the same words.
Load More Replies...Someone called the police on our neighbor because their dogs were barking too much. She has an indoor cat.
Despite the numerous ways they can get on our nerves, neighbors can reportedly have a positive effect on our well-being (well, at least the less annoying ones can). A Rutgers study revealed that low levels of contact with people living nearby are linked to lower levels of satisfaction and psychological well-being in middle and later life.
Spanning over 10 years, the research found out that even though neighbors might not prevent an individual from facing certain hardships, they are an important part of one’s social landscape, whether it’s providing assistance that they do or ensuring daily communication.
Someone Is Over The Package Theft In My Apt Building
I keep saying I need to invest in a ring camera. But so far all they've stolen is guinea pig toys, a single d cell battery in a big package, and some elder care stuff. Nothing they will get a dime off of.
All that would accomplish is them stealing your ring ;-)

Packages are delivered inside the security-access lobby with 24/7 camera surveillance where I live, which is great. One less thing to worry about.
My Sons Accidentally Lost Their Football Over The Neighbors Fence Yesterday. This Is How It Was Found Back In Our Yard Today
Yes, I'm not sure about this one. If your kids play football, baseball or the like, you must make sure the ball can't go over the fence. Once, it's an accident. More than once, it's a nuisance and a danger. What if you are sunbathing peacefully and that thing hits your face? Or if it hits a child, or a dog? Are the neighbours going to pay for the doctor or vet? If you want to be respected, respect other people's property, too.
Load More Replies...Could we hear from the neighbors too ? The neighbors kids behind us were using my yard, with full view of my windows, as center field. After repeated warnings about the biall coming into my property got no results, I kept the ball. Their father said I should have done that only if my house was actually hit !!! There’s a HUGE school athlete field across the street from their house !
My elderly neighbor was annoyed when the ball landed in her yard because she'd had intruders. We politely asked for it back as well as assuring her we'd keep an eye on her home.
We live in a neighborhood where not everyone (including us) has a fenced-in yard so it's not uncommon for a ball to find its way into our yard once in a while. The kids are always very respectful about asking, if we are outside, if they can come get their ball. If we aren't outside, I've seen them get the ball and then go right back to their yard without bothering anything else in the yard. It doesn't bother us, but then nothing has been hit or damaged either.
My Neighbor Thinks They Own The Public Street In Front Of Their Apartment
I love when people get pissed someone parked in front of their house/apartment. My house is on a corner lot and my driveway is in the back of the house so I park there and my husband and son park on the side of the house. There is room for another two cars there and two cars in front of my house. I don't get annoyed that someone parks in front of on the side of my house because WE DON'T OWN THE STREET!
Ok this is entitlement and everything but like how neat is their handwriting 🤯
Actually this is not "entitlement" as they are not entitled to those street parking spaces. This is an OVERINFLATED sense of entitlement. Entitled is fine. We are all entitled to certain things. Having an overinflated sense of entitlement is the problem.
Load More Replies...I lived in a US town not long ago full of no-neck cops on steroids and my neighbors would call them anytime someone they didn't know parked in front of their house. On a public street, not blocking their drive or hydrant or anything. Cops would look up license plate data and ticket vehicle.
Had something like this happen only she came out and yelled at me and gave me 60 seconds "to get it gone". I laughed, she called 911, police gave her an important lesson on the difference between public property and private property and the misuse of the 911 system.
Why, yes, and the cameras even know which apartment the cars live in.
Load More Replies...Weird neighbor lady of my MIL will come out and yell at you if you park in front of her house. Strangely every time I go there, I really wanna park there for only petty reasons

For some, the importance of having friendly neighbors became evident during the pandemic. Due to the lockdown, restrictions, and health-related matters, some people had to rely on the kindness of others, some of whom often lived right next door.
A study on individuals supporting their neighbors during the early stage of the COVID-19 lockdown revealed that they used different means of communication to reach out to those living nearby who needed some sort of help, making even greater effort to contact vulnerable groups.
Their ways of supporting others included everything from delivering food and medical prescriptions, to providing information, advice or even sharing of experiences. Quite a few of such individuals reportedly felt more involved in the neighborhood life after the pandemic and showed interest in committing to it even more in the future.

Where I live, there is a ditch weed that looks a lot like marij- but it isn't (not sure what the actual name of it is, I call it ditch weed). Had a co-worker years ago who moved here from a state (I'm in the USA) where it doesn't grow. He was all excited that "marij- grows in the ditches here." We had to tell him do not, under any circumstances, smoke that. It won't get you high but you will be sick (maybe even dead).

The last line is kind of irronic. And how can he, as an attorney think that the police can do anything just because somebody invites other people to come over and visit them? What laws does he expect them to break, and does he know the law at all? ...and why that kerning? it just makes it super hard to read. So many question, but I guess they all boils down to him being crazy.
He is not an attorney. Knock on his door and tell him to call the police and you will press charges for harassment and if he says "I am an attorney" tell him "Harassing someone for no reason at all and making threats can get you disbarred"
As a lawyer, I can promise, this is ON BRAND for so many of my colleagues. No one cares that you are a lawyer Chad. It's not impressive.

Neighbor Parked Me (Blue Kona) In Again Last Night. I Have Probably A Dozen Texts Asking Them To Move Or Ask For My Space When This Has Happened In The Past. No Response. It Feels Like I Shouldn’t Have To Maneuver My Car So Much On My Own Driveway
I used to have people block me in all the time once where I rented a house. I tried to be nice. I went house to house. I finally called the cops and they went house to house. They finally began just calling the tow trucks. At this point in my life, I'm not nice anymore and I wouldn't even hesitate to call a tow for this car. Now in my old age I've had to make more than one emergency run to the ER - if your car is in the way, out it goes.
Put up a sign and a security camera "Parking space available, $100 per hour. " Police/small claims often won't penalise parking you in, but will charge them for "Theft of Service."
Park further down in the drive so they can't park behind or in front of you. Tow it, the towing company will charge the car owner@ Andy Cran
People park in other people's driveways? WTF. I'd give them one opportunity to say it was a "mistake". After that I'm towing it every time.

I saw that poor old man, who I believe is 85 years old, working most of the day cleaning up leaves, and instead of lending a hand, I took time out to type a letter, drive to the next town over to post it, just to chastise you for not controlling the wind direction.
My Neighbor Shot An Arrow Into My House Today
Discharge of weapons in a residential neighborhood are most likely illegal. It would take me a nanosecond to report this. Someday it could be a child's vital organ stopping the arrow.
My old neighbors brain dead teenage son shot an arrow into my back yard knowing my dogs are back there all the time. The kids mother worked with the local PD and had I reported him she would have lost her job. Kid never got better should have turned him in. It was a real hunting arrow for killing deer
Pew Research Center also found that even in the age of digital technology, neighbors tend to communicate more face-to-face (20%) rather than using the phone or email (7%).
Another interesting thing the survey revealed was that despite not knowing a lot of them, people tend to trust the neighbors they do know; roughly 66% of Americans—who know at least some of their neighbors—would feel comfortable trusting them with a spare set of their keys in case there’s an emergency.
Neighbor Installed Two Cameras Pointed Directly At Our Basement Windows
I can’t believe how many entries are of this issue, like holy s**t man
Load More Replies...This camera pic is less obvious to me than the fence ones in terms of 'evil'. They MIGHT have placed it there for intruders and it just happens your basement window is in that direction. I say this because a close friend has a neighborhood weirdo (drug and mental health issues) who has come to the side of their house and tried the the windows at night. They know who it is - don't don't have proof. Video from a camera like this would provide the proof.
If you have children I'd call the cops that a pedophile was recording children playing. If that didn't do anything, I'd send a letter to everyone in the neighborhood saying the same thing.

or instead of standing there taking pictures, try shooing them off or water pistol them they'll soon associate that with "not a good place to be" and avoid the area...same with cats (the shooing doesn't work with those arrogant psychos) but the water pistol works a treat especially if you mix citrus in the water 😉👍 super soaker!!!! that's the word I was thinking of instead of "water pistol"
Load More Replies...You can "accidentally" trap them inside the garage and tell the neighbour you'll donate them to a zoo if they ever enter your property again.
Peacocks are very tasty - my parents used to keep a couple until they annoyed the neighbors too much and we put them in the pot.
So they should put up recipie for peacock stew arount the neighbourhood it the neigbours dont have common sence to keep the pretty birds?
Load More Replies...Yes, depending on the regulations of the town you live in. I'm in the US and can buy the chicks locally in the spring, just like chickens. Or get them on the internet if no local source. Many towns have noise ordinances though, and peacocks and peahens are extremely loud.
Load More Replies...Peacocks are poop machines not to mention their blood curdling screeches. They are beautiful but they don't seem like a good addition to one's home to me, especially if you can't keep them on your property.
Received In The Mail From A Concerned Neighbor
So, we specifically don't touch our garden at all for the first 15 weeks, from the start of Spring. Some of our neighbors complained a bit, until we explained our rationale. While it may look a little unkept and untidy by most standards, our garden blossoms with the most incredible wild flowers for those few weeks, and with that comes an abundance of pollinators and small birds, it is like an oasis compared to our neighbors who only have manicured lawns. We then keep it nice and trimmed for the rest of the year, but you best be sure that for the whole of Spring, my garden is going to look a little wild and I love it!
I also love it! But I also think there is a difference between having a garden that's a little wild for a bit to encourage pollination vs someone having a lawn that makes their house look like Freddy Krueger lives there.
Load More Replies...Exactly! My dad's neighbor used to mow for him. Then when he died his son did it. My dad was disabled and couldn't be out in the sun. Do people not look out for their neighbors anymore? I've shoveled snow for the neighbor girl more times than I can count and she's younger than me!
Load More Replies...Short mowed lawns are an ecological disaster. Those 'pests' that the comments are complaining about are native animals desperately clinging on to what tiny fragments of habitat remain available in built up areas. Without the bees, bugs and caterpillars, the whole food chain starts to crash and burn. Small birds need live food for their babies, and weed seeds as food to sustain them through the winter.
I actually don't have a problem with this letter. Being a decent neighbor means keeping the grass mowed and putting trash where it's supposed to go.
I agree. Wild and unkempt lawns are a haven for all sorts of pests like mice, snakes, bugs, etc. Things I don't want in my yard or house.
Load More Replies...I'm cool until it's over a foot high and all weeds. Still not my business until it becomes a breeding ground for pests.
Those 'pests' are the native species surviving and thriving in a habitat that has been all but destroyed by the stupid fashion for lawns. Without them, no birds, no small animals, no hawks, just sterile dystopian horror.

Report it to the seller as not delivered and possibly stolen from the wrong address
Once I ordered some small canisters off eBay. UPS couldn't find my address so they delivered them to my OLD address. I found this out because I knew they had been delivered and that's they told me. So I drove over to where I lived in my old trailer park and surprise, surprise. The renter there had opened my box and had all the canisters out on the porch, apparently going to use them for planting. I knocked and no one answered, so I dumped the canisters and brought them home. I did let the park manager know what I did, though. He couldn't believe it but I had the opened box with my name and new address on it to prove it.
I know, not really the point...Idk what the item was or how desperately it was needed, but most of the time Amazon will replace the item. Take a picture of your front porch for comparison & let them know your neighbors claim they don't have it. I am tickled though that some of you are like CSI Mi-hammy when it comes to tracking down your packages lol.
So, I have a habit of removing the label as soon as I get a package (OCD? Don't ask) and wadding it up in a tight ball and trashing it. And I order *a lot* online. So, it *could* happen that I get someone else's package, and if there's no packing slip, I might conclude it was a gift from someone (I often send surprise gifts like this). I once wired a relative some "surprise" money with just a note saying "Enjoy!" but not referencing the amount, and the bank screwed up and wired double the amount and was tben asking my relative for a refund! Oh that pissed me off. (Sorry, tangent). Anyway, things happen.
To b fair, could have had a porch pirate come by. They didn't exactly hide it
my experience (atleast here in UK anyway) is if recipient of package isn't home then generally the delivery person takes package with them and leaves a card through the door to arrange alternative delivery time...or if you know you're not going to be home you can contact the delivery company to make alternative arrangements ie: safe space, safe and trusted neighbour or even different address also more often now the delivery person has to take a photo of named recipient with package at named address ...we had huge problems in UK the delivery firms got told yo clean their act up
Our Neighbors Solution To A Newly Poured Driveway On A One-Lane Road
Call the police. This is classed as obstruction if it blocks the only access to other properties
I guess they'd be driving on his newly-poured concrete.
Load More Replies...There are lots of “country lanes” like this where I live, which is on the very edges of a big city. There’s lots of homes built off these tiny lanes. My friends house is at the end of one. When a car approaches from the other direction, one of you pulls over to let the other squeak by. This guy is just being an entitled jerk. I’m laughing at what the damage the duct tape will do to the paint on that car though.
Duct tape will pull hair out by the roots! Trust me...I know.
Load More Replies...And mysteriously the word "C**t" was written in the concrete the next morning.
That license personalized license plate it oddly specific.
Next Door Neighbor Parks Both Cars In Front Of House, Blocks My Mailbox And Leaves Theirs Open
In the US, §1701. Obstruction of mails generally: Whoever knowingly and willfully obstructs or retards the passage of the mail, or any carrier or conveyance carrying the mail, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both. (June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 778; Pub. Load More Replies...I'm not sure, but I think you can have them ticketed and fined, then towed
Most places have an ordinance about blocking access to a mailbox. You could call your local non emergency or code compliance number for help...or simply deflate all 4 tires every time he does it.
Petty, but I would start parking in front of theirs. Perhaps then they will see reason.
My Neighbor Has Indeed A Bright Light
Sure this is horrible, but blinds are really a requirement for street-facing windows.
"This is super irritating, easily fixed, and im just gonna complain about it!"
What about that nasty sun that shines into your room each morning? Just fit blinds.
My Neighbor, Who Is Not Registered For Disability, Constantly Parks In The Disabled Spot. She Will Sit In A Spot Nearby Till It Opens To Make Sure She Can Claim It If It's Blocked For Whatever Reason
On public road yes, on private road often not. [Which is what allows you to make any sort of parking restrictions ("families with kids" at supermarkets e.g.) which do not really exist... ] so, if on private apartment parking, it's only management that can do something.
Load More Replies...Call the police. Parking in handicapped spaces, even on private property without proper documents is comes with substantial fines.
Authorities don't fool around when it comes to handicapped spaces. I'd definitely call this person out to the complex, or there'll probably be some signage about parking without permits and have the towing company's number on it. (I've watched alot of 'Parking Wars'!)
Load More Replies...Are you sure she is not disabled? People have disabilities that aren't 100% obvious.
Then she should have a disabled parking plate/decal/placard. They are easy enough to get. Otherwise, even with an obvious disability it's illegal and the car can be towed.
Load More Replies...Why are we covering the plate. She drives around in public with it all the time. Name and shame!
Neighbor Built A Pergola That Hangs Clear Over Into My Yard Space
YOU are a good neighbor. Thanks for the chainsaw!
Load More Replies...I'd be hanging stuff off of that. Wet stuff. Stuff that will mold. I'd paint the bit on my property, too. Bedazzle it.
It's illegal. And you want to remedy it asap, it's infringing on your property and if you leave it long enough, they can claim it's a valid build because you didn't come forward. It can also make it so you can't sell your home in the future when buyers ee the property is encumbered by your neighbors deck.
Law states that you can remove anything that enters your property using whatever means are necessary
You don't know where they are from and which laws apply
Load More Replies...Yes, some really, really heavy ones. Maybe a swing or two, or even a hammock!
Load More Replies...Here we go again....BP is, unfortunately, full of passive-aggressive people who are more apt to destroy someone's property rather than have a chat first. It's entirely possible that the neighbors had a contractor build this and the contractor screwed up. What if the neighbor hadn't noticed this mistake yet too. The lot of you would rather just assume the neighbor is malicious and you'd rather respond in a similar malicious manner, which is waaaaaay worse. Being clueless, not using your big kid words, and resorting to Neanderthal behavior.
People are more likely just cracking a joke than actually having any true intent behind what they write on BP
Load More Replies...That's pretty rude ! If there is no communication just start hanging things on them, like Cradle chairs " Amazon $50.00" Thrift stores $10.00. If it was installed by a Pergola/patio cover company, It will void their warranty !
My Neighbor Borrowed My Hedge Trimmer. This Is What She Did To My Extension Cord
Tell her that she will pay now for a new hedge trimmer, or later in court, along with the legal fees.
A long time ago a neighbor asked if he barrow my lawn mower. A friend gave it to me, it was really old, but ran good. So I let my neighbor use it. Brought it back wi three wheels. When I asked where's the wheel he said they sell wheels at the Home Depot. Last thing I let him use. I you barrow something, return it cleaned up and in good condition.
Reason #23 why I don't lend out my tools to anyone. Too many times they've come back broken, if they came back at all.
We keep our good ones locked up in the shed. My Father-in-law has a habit of "borrowing" things and never bring them back or better yet, lones them out to his friends without telling us where it went.
Load More Replies...Don't lend things that you can't afford to replace. That's been my mantra for many a decade, and it works.
I do this myself nearly every time I use my old trimmer. I recently bought a battery version - cheaper than replacing extension leads.
This happens. It just does. It's also not that big a deal in it's self. If you look into it you will find the cord is cheap and easy to remove and replace. YouTube can also help.
Neighbor Drills Through Our Shared Wall To Secure A Fence Without Asking. Then Wants Us To Bolt The Bottom Because He Couldn’t Reach It
ask him nicely not to do so and that it's unacceptable....if that doesn't have desired effect....undo top bolts, grind off ends of bolts to make them flush with brickwork, pass back (in a baggie) all removed parts "these bits belong to you".... remember to record your actions ,sound and vision and most importantly do it in a calm and considered manner (no swearing,no aggressive attitude)
Neighbors Who Have Nothing Better To Do
I think sometimes I feel this way by November. People putting up lights when thanksgiving hasn't even came yet but I'm not going to write nasty notes about it. It is annoying to see the commercialism of the holidays so damn early especially for retail shops. Can Halloween past before we start advertising Xmas
Exactly, although it is starting to get excessive, this past September I've seen at least 3 houses with more than just the lights; But i'm not going to write a note about it.
Load More Replies...f**k them. I run my lights year round. They change color for different occasions.
That’s exactly what we do! Christmas lights (AND deco, like wreaths on the door) are up all year round. I want to upgrade to those lights we can program into different colors/patterns for different holidays, though!
Load More Replies..."But neighbors as good-hearted as you put me in the Christmas spirit all year long!"
Busybodies who have nothing better to do and who desperately need a hobby other then harassing people for every little thing that bothers them. Probably sits in front of their porch or garage and bothers everyone daily since retirement. Yeah, we got one of those obnoxious persons. And such an obsessed little bully he is.
As a person who has their birthday around Thanksgiving, I could give a f**k when holiday decor becomes available or if someone keeps their lights out year around. My family had a rule - no christmas decor until either after Thanksgiving or my birthday, whichever came second, but that's just my family. I'd be a huge a*****e to insist upon others - Dude, life is hard, if it brings you joy, go on with your bad self - it isn't hurting anyone. As for shops putting out holiday decor in August, whatever. Most businesses (in North America) make a big chunk of their yearly money during the holidays - why not start it early. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
Early Morning Shifts Bugs Neighbors
Yeah I do too, and also almost everyone has bitched about her slamming her doors but nothing’s been done, unsurprisingly.
Load More Replies...I side with the neighbours on this one. In the quiet of night, sounds are much louder. Be considerate.
got to have some consideration for others in the early hours...noise travels better/louder in the dead of night/early hours... probably wouldn't hear a thing shutting vehicle doors with the same vigour in the daytime....though I'd rather the complainant spoke with me directly and not with a "threatening" letter,or atleast write the letter differently, aggression only begets aggression
"dear neighbour, would you mind shutting your vehicle doors with a bit less vigour.... appreciate you have to work ungodly shift times...it's no one's fault that noise travels louder at such times it does wake us up with start/shock then struggle to get back to sleep again, really appreciate it , many thanks"
Load More Replies..."I work, you know? WORK. The cardboard sign gig outside WalMart didn't work out so well for me so I WORK and actually receive a paycheck. It is life altering! For sure. So learn to mind your business, that can be life altering. And - bite me."
I have two neighbors, each with a huge muffler issue, that park behind my apartment right outside my bedroom window. They both leave for work between 5:00 and 6:00am. I can't wait for winter! 😒
My neighbor leaves for work while it is still dark in the morning. Every day, he remote-starts his gigantic, diesel-powered pickup truck and lets it run for 20-30 minutes before he leaves...right outside my bedroom window.
This makes me soooo thankful that I have neighbors who don't talk to me at all !!
I always put Halloween decorations up, but one year my neighbor texted me and said my tombstones were offensive to the widows across the street. After learning she was not joking, I proceeded to put up even more tombstones & have done every year thereafter!
Why do sooo many people these days try to make their problems yours? If widows are “offended” by the sight of tombstones, the answer is NOT to tell people to get rid of ‘em, but THERAPY. It’s not MY problem something “triggers” you. You need professional help, and I can’t provide it.
Load More Replies...NEW? these were posted last week. BP can't get any new content from your readers?
they're busy putting together another unintelligible nonsense thread about things that europeans and americans dont understand. Im sure itll be chock full of interesting content, like kettles, healthcare and kinder eggs.
Load More Replies...HOLY SMOKES BP you shortened this from 38 to 35????????? what is wrong with you?
You REALLY felt that was worth composing a message about? Really? Seriously, WonderWoman: you need a hobby. 😕
Load More Replies...Why are so many people such doormats when it comes to illegally parked cars? I politely asked a neighbors friend to not park in my assigned spot. Next time I TOLD her to not park there again. 3rd time I had her towed & somehow I was the jerk. It was over $250 to get her car back. Oh f*cking well. Learned a lesson yet?
Be careful what you say about Americans - they have GUNS!
Load More Replies...I'm saddened by how many people want to go totally overboard with vandalism or harming animals.
For everyone with neighbors with camera issues. Go to the dollar store buy some laser pointers, batteries, and tape. Point the lasers directly at the camera lens and tape the button down then tape it in place, change batteries as needed, it will burn out the image sensors.
This makes me soooo thankful that I have neighbors who don't talk to me at all !!
