The advent of the internet created an advanced method for people to scam you out of your money. Why sell candy bars for ‘team uniforms’, when you can now trick people with the push of a button. Well, not everyone is so gullible.
One woman was recently contacted by what appeared to be a friend of hers through email, but something wasn’t quite right. Perhaps it was the sketchy email address, the poor English or insistence she sends them iTunes gift cards urgently, but this woman wasn’t buying their tricks. Instead of ignoring the messages, she decided to have some fun. Scroll down below to read the hilarious three-day exchange.

There are days I miss the old actual scam phone calls -vs the robo-calls. Many would come on my cell while I was sitting in traffic. My favorite one was the "windows" tech. He called due to some problem that was activated at the tech support center from my Windows computer. I told him that "my windows were fine - in fact just had them double paned. So they are all good!" "No, the windows on your computer." "My computer doesn't sit near the windows." "No, no. The program windows." "My windows aren't the those high tech ones, they don't have a program." "NO! The program on your computer, your PC, WINDOWS!" "Oh, I have a Mac." He hung up on me. How rude. lol

Cunning deception by Sara. Sadly there's still a lot of people who actually fall for this kind of scamming everyday. And all it takes to avoid being scammed is to keep your eyes open and to phone the person who alledgedly is asking you for money.
There were some teen girls at my local CVS a few weeks ago trying to buy $600 worth of iTunes gift cards. The cashier refused to sell them, telling the girls they were being scammed.

At work one of my managers got a call from and subsequently yelled at by a man claiming to be our district manager asking her (my manager) to send him gift card codes to activated Home Depot cards. My manager knew our district manager would never make such a request. Also our real district manager is a woman. It makes me sad that people like this try to take advantage of others.
I have been getting these suspicious emails lately that contain invoices along with a link to click on so you can pay them. Some of the invoices are for about $4000. They do not contain any company name or any important information. I did some research on the internet and it says that once you click on the link, they can can get into your device and phish all your information. I wonder how many individuals fall for this (especially the older generation). Please be aware of this.
Yes, that is evil. And yes clicking on the link can install very bad software on your computer. If you want more info you can search for the Australian Government site. Stay Smart Online.

Still trying to figure out why someone would need $500 in iTunes URGENTLY. Or at all, for that matter.
Scammers try to get them as soon as possible, and resell them quickly to basically the highest bidder. Whether they make $50 or 75 on a $100 card, it's all profit to them and the person being scammed is out the cash unless they contact the gift card issuer, with the card codes and say they were scammed. Most places work to return the amount to the consumer in the event of a scam but I'm pretty sure the card has to be unused for them to do so, so catching on quickly or not even sending them anything is the best action. General advice for anyone: If someone approaches you in email/messenger claiming to be a friend asking for these, contact your friend directly via another route. These people are mental.

There are some guys on YouTube who made it a hobby to torture tech support scammers and other scammers using those guys greed to get into the scammers system and dismantle them from within. Quite fun to watch some of them.

My 79 year old mother with dementia keeps falling for these piece of c**p scammers over and over. They are mostly Nigerian and romance her. She falls in love with every one and we can't make her understand the truth. It's so sad!
I read in the news yesterday that one of the biggest fake IRS scam setups was busted, with ties to India, of course, leading all the way to several states here in the US, including mine, (FL), Alabama, Illinois, and several more. I hope these are the ones that kept harassing me and my teenage son, threatening to arrest us for IRS payments. What a bunch of scumsuckers. I reported them every time they called. Not much else you can do since if you block them, they just call from a new number.

I got a call once from a man with a thick East Indian accent saying he was calling from the IRS. I said "really..regarding what?" He says "You owe a lot of back taxes and unless you make a large payment now we will put a lien on your house." I don't have a house. "Oh no" I said. "Don't do that. Here is my card number. 4135-GOFU-CKUR-SELF. The IRS doesn't call people, a*****e. They send threatening letters and certified mail." Click..he hung up on me? How rude!
Luckily (or maybe not) due to GDPR, I did receive any scam call for months... And I would like to troll someone once again, its fun...
