Racist Woman Blocks Black Man From Entering His Own Luxury Apartment, Gets The Lesson Of A Lifetime
After a ‘great’ example of white fragility known as BBQ Becky comes, sadly, Debbie Doorway. The latest discrimination example of a white woman calling the police on people of color for simply going about their daily business has gone viral, and it’s just as ugly as you’d expect.
The woman, who we have chosen not to name, confronted D’Arreion Toles as he tried to enter the building that they share in St. Louis, Missouri. Claiming that she felt ‘uncomfortable’ with D’Arreion entering the building, she proceeded to block him while demanding to know his name and which apartment he lived in.
The incident was captured on video by D’Arreion himself and has since gone viral after he shared it with this message: “To be a black man in America and come home. A woman tries to stop me from coming into my building because she feels insecure, Downtown St. Louis luxury loft, because she doesn’t feel that I belong, never really thought this would happen to me, but it did! Then 30 mins later police knock on my door because she called! I was shocked this is racism in America in 2018!”
Soon after the obvious racial discrimination video went viral the internet tracked down the woman and exposed her identity, leading to her losing her job. D’Arreion, while shocked and upset to be treated in such a way, doesn’t want a witch hunt, however. “Don’t bash the woman, just send her positive waves of energy,” he wrote. “Let’s be great people, this is our world, and this message is to everyone of all ages/ races/ colors/! We only get one life so let’s make the most of it and be great, no time for being rude people!”
Scroll down below to see how it all unfolded for yourself, and let us know in the comments what you think about racism being well and alive.
This is D’Arreion Toles, from Chicago but living in St. Louis, Missouri. He recently had a shocking experience that he decided to share
He captured the whole episode on camera
He posted the videos on Facebook, where they went viral and were viewed by over 1 million people
After he shared the videos, many people jumped to his defense
He was more than surprised by the response
The woman ended up losing her job, after the internet exposed her identity to the world

Share on FacebookWho does she think she is? She's not security. No-one has to answer to her for coming into a building even if they don't live there. His patience is remarkable. Mine would not have been. She must have lied to the police to get them to attend a man politely ignoring her questions and then peacefully entering his own apartment. Disgusting behaviour and yet she seriously cannot see what she did wrong.
I agree that noone has to explain themselves to anyone upon entering a building, but apartment thefts do happen and we all should remain cautios. If someone acts suspicious (of course not the case here - he was clear he lived there, had keys etc) contact authorities. Don't ever take matters in your own hands, because if that person happens to be a burglair, you might end up in a very bad place.
Load More Replies...Am I the only one wondering why it is that someone so "terrified" of having a black man in her building felt free to not only follow him around yammering at him, she actually made body contact while trying to block his way to the door? ...///... What does that tell us?
That she wasn't remotely frightened of him so she has NO justifications for her actions.
Load More Replies...3 questions: First, why did she think that he didn't have a key? Second, what did she say to the police, that made them come? 3rd and finally: WTF?
Well, she'll have lied. How can the police justify coming out to the truth 'a polite man came into the building I live in, said he lived there and proved it when I followed him and saw him let himself into his apartment and he even gave me his name'... She seriously lied.
Load More Replies...Worst part of the story is that the police actually did come knocking on his door. How? "Police, a black man just entered my appartment building and then he entered his own appartment with a key. And he even didn't answer all my questions even though I'm a white woman." "We'll be right over , Ma'am."
I don't know if I think that is the worst part - she probably lied to get the police to come out. Hard to know without them saying as she's not going to admit it. Her belief that he doesn't have a right to be in that building is the worst thing for me.
Load More Replies...OH, yes, the dog would say if it could, non racist only please I beg you !!!
Load More Replies...She is so afraid that she gets int an elevator with the man who frightens her so much? wow
I went to visit my parents at their nursing home on a bright sunny Saturday morning. A middle aged white woman came to me while I was waiting in the lobby and asked if I knew the African American teen aged boy over there. Nope. "Well, he's just waiting here." So am I. (also a white middle aged woman0 "I'm uncomfortable. I didn't want to come in." I'm sure he's here to visit someone. "Well, I work downtown, so I know. You have to be careful." You have to get away from me. Take your crazy over there. We are not together. She went to find a staff member, who, at the time was busy directing this kid to where he could do his volunteer hours and made her wait. My sister came in and the woman tried to tell her the same c**p about being "scared to come in because she works downtown." My sister told her to kick rocks. I'm sure the lady spent the next five days bragging about her hyper alert sensibilities.
That's as good as the pizza delivery gal that caught a customer lying to her party guests about the how she thought that "The pizza delivery boy tried to steal $40 from us." Turned out it was a five dollar tip that her adult son said she could keep and that the delivery person was the woman standing at their door, not a man. She said her satisfaction came as the door closed when the accusers father turned to this insane woman and said, in front of all the guest.."It was a woman you dipsh*t!"
Load More Replies...She was fired, and rightly so, from The Tribeca-STL which "is a minority-owned company that consists of employees and residents from many racial backgrounds. We are proud of this fact and do not and never will stand for racism or racial profiling at our company." The racist woman bears full responsibility for the consequences of her disgusting actions. No one else, just her.
I'm sure there are homophobic and/or racist companies that are now able to deny services to others who will be happy to hire her. I hope they stew in their own juices.
Load More Replies...So glad to still be shocked at the level of outrageous disrespect coming from this person. In awe of D'Arreion's peaceful representation, I definitely would have told her where to go....
If she was so concerned, why did she get on an empty elevator with him? People are morons.
And even after following the guy, watching him use a key to get in, she still called the cops? For what? To be honest, I wouldn't be able to be so patient and calm like that guy. I think I would just tell her I'd be the one calling the cops for keeping me out of my appartment. :P
She didn't like not getting her own way so called the police thinking she'd get some kind of revenge. Nasty thing to do.
Load More Replies...I think a complaint about this woman to the owners of the complex would have been a good start. She can't harass other tenants.
WTF? She obviously thinks a black man can't be rich and thus can't live there (or visit anyone living there). Even if she is that racist, she could have just left him alone and called the police if she really wants but no, she had to follow him, block his way, try to interrogate him and even after he entered with his own key she called the cops, and probably lied to them to get them to come. Again: WTF? Also: I'm admiring him for keeping his cool, I'm not sure I would be that patient, or so forgiving for that matter.
This reminds me of a story about a white woman who called out a black man in first class on a plane. She thought he was probably just confused and after telling her that he paid for it she asked him if he was in the army and after that she jumped to worse conclusions.. as a white woman i feel ashamed of both of these women..
Load More Replies...Those who chose ignorance and divisiveness are emboldened by our current political mess. Her actions and ways are unacceptable and this young man didn't react in a way that would've validated her assumptions. He stayed calm and went about his business. Just remember that not all white people are like this. To most, I hope, of us people are people who all equals. The narrative fed to exploit these people's fears of being outnumbered where their so called friends give them honest opinion journalism is as much to blame, if not more, than the Cheeto emporer himself. Racial predjudice is wrong no matter what color it comes from.
i guarantee you, she acted and treated people this way before the trumpster, and there will be people like her afterwards. They are evolving out thanks god. I think it will be another 50 years for it to to be noticeable.
Load More Replies...I remember my friend T explaining getting ripped off at the bus station and I said he should've made a scene, then he explained that black men can't kick off in public as people get scared. Really ridiculous nowadays.
At first I thought that maybe (maybe!) this wasn't racially motivated. People who live in apartments *do* have the responsibility not to let someone follow them in, because the doors inside are not very secure. So you need to make sure the outer door closes all the way and the next person, if they live there, can let themselves in with their own key. By the sounds of it, she legitimately thought that he hadn't let himself in, so that's a cause for concern. He was smart not to tell her which unit he was in, because who knows what she might do with that information. But she didn't raise or voice or insult him (that shouldn't be unusual, but it is) so I'm confused why he didn't just show her his key fob. But he knew the name of the security guard, and she kept insisting she "wanted to know who he was visitting" which showed she didn't really think he could live there as he said. And then after she saw him let himself in, she called the cops. WTF?
I'm in the UK and here flats/apartments are legally required to have fire doors which, in theory, are harder to break in. Plus, communal doors often have trades or services buttons on the intercom that unlocks the door directly to allow deliveries or tradespeople in during day time hours. So we can't trust the communal door to be the most secure point.
Load More Replies...getting into his apartment would be a Big sign he lives there, hearing about this in the early 1900s pissed me off. in this day and age black people shouldnt be feeling the way their ancestors and grandparents did.
Please keep in mind we have a bunch of wonderful people in this world too
Load More Replies...That pos called the police on a black man and probably lied about why. He could have bwen killes on sight. So effing effed up!
On behalf of middle-aged white ladies who walk little dogs, I apologize and disown this racist twit for her idiot treatment of the gentleman who posted this video.
She's a bit young to be middle-aged. Racist twit I'll totally go with!
Load More Replies...If she was afraid for her safety why would she get in the elevator alone with him how stupid is that she a racist a young man should be able to go to his apartment with out being interrogated
Wow, who the hell does she think she is? That was sooo UNCALLED for lady, you should be minding ur own damn business and quit bein a nosy littke b $ t $ h how would u feel if the shoe was on the other foot? You got lucky this young man didnt lose his cool, smdh he in ur building? Lmao like he said you aint the owner you oay rent just like he do so what gives you the right to stalk somebody like this? I think security should if escorted ur a$$ out the buildin its a wrap.
Oh my god that is something. Blocking someone from their own house because they are black “and walked in off the street” (How else would you get into a building?) and then being extremely nosy and rude to someone who obviously is just trying to get home.
*******I encourage everyone to report SmallTownGirl's comments. They are violent and disturbing, and inappropriate for this site.*********
SmallTownCunt: If you weren't such a stupid and ignorant b***h, this would have never happened.

this actually made me sick to my stomach. That this guy who was doing NOTHING wrong was treated like a criminal by this lady. He has the patience of a saint, I would not have been able to keep my composure.
Exactly arrest her for wasting there time. Racist woman was not frightened at all
This s**t breaks my heart. She really should have been charged with harassment/calling police and wasting time. I hope that she changes for the good following this. Mr Toles is clearly an amazing person--I would never have handled a situation like that with so much poise and grace.
in some countrys is neighbour watch, but then must be notice on building
It's also neighbourhood watch and not neighbourhood interrogation. One is reasonable and safe, the other is not.
Load More Replies...I just feel like if she really felt threatened she wouldn't have stood as close as she was or followed him. If I ever feel scared about anything I leave quickly. Ridiculous.
Looking at the title photo I thought the article will be about some horror movie and sadly I wasn't wrong.
What's weird is that she's shaped exactly like humans, without being in fact one of ours! Such a behaviour is absolutely outrageous.
When he closes his door and she just says 'WOW' she didn't even see what she did wrong!!!
I live in a secure building. If me and someone else gets to the door at the same time, neither of us expects the other to quickly close the door behind themselves to ensure the following person has the correct access. I would be livid if the person in front of me went out of their way to close the door in my face to make sure I "lived there". Also this woman had clear intentions behind her actions
If she truly thought that he didn't *belong* in the building, why didn't she contact Security and let them handle it? They would have confirmed that he was a resident, then she could have STFU. I don't see why she lost her job, tho. Did she work in the building? I would have filed charges of harassment. This young man is being way too nice.
and then she wants to meet him and be his neighbor??? Uh noooo….babye Felicia
so my question is, if she was that concerned with him being there.....why would she get on the elevator with him?
By following him to his door, she was stalking. If she had attempted to restrain his movement in any way, that's potentially kidnapping. Calling the police is filing a false report. She should be in front of a judge.
Racism, pure and simple. If he was afraid, shoe would have run to her apartment and locked the door, called the police. She was not afraid...she followed him in the corridor...ALONE!! RACIST, RACIST!!!! SO GLAD she was outed!!!
Kudos to the man for not engaging her in any way. Admire the patience and resilience. She was already identified and I think she will have a really hard time getting her life together after this. Just one remark though - I know it's not the case here probably, but here we are really suspicious of unfamiliar people entering the apartments hallways. I personally reported someone for getting into the building, but they couldn't prove that the apartment they went for was taken by their friends. I wonder if the case here would escalate like that if the man was white though. Then again - no matter the race, if you see something out of place, contact authorities instead of behaving like she did - it only causes you trouble.
Obviously she wasn't too concerned because she got into an elevator with a man she deemed "suspicious". She wasn't suspicious, she was simply harassing him.
Who the hell made her hall monitor for the building?! Damn. You think she would learn who her neighbors where and get to know and help each other out. But no, she's gotta play neighborhood watch captain likes she's protecting us all from some lurking evil. Damn people. Get involved, but do it respectfully and with some sense of intelligence. Kudos to you sir for your patience and calls for leniency in dealing with her type. Proved who the better person is!
I am so sick of being represented by stupid people. There is nothing that non-stupid white people can say to redeem or help this stupid situation. We can only hope that we can publicly shame these stupid people back into the closet where they belong. I cannot imagine keeping my cool in dealing with this stupid stupid woman. Because I'm a white lady, chances are I wouldn't go to jail. But if this man had RIGHTFULLY lost his cool with her, he could be in jail or dead. What kind of world have we created where this is reality for people every single time they walk out their door. I'M SO FRUSTRATED!
i would have lost my s**t seconds into that BS and would have called the owner. flat out, would not care, would have woken his a*s up to have him b***h at this dumb lady for doing a job she has no right doing. i have no patience for stupid s**t, congrats you live there good for you...you dont belong acting like you can prevent people from walking through that door thats security's job. if security comes up and asks "hey you live here" then he has to show proof of residency but that dumb b***h needs to mind her own business. kinda funny that she lost her job over this. i hope that chick hasnt bred yet, its 2018 this world doesnt need anymore racist ideologies.
I'm glad that karma and/or "justice was served..." however, knowing how the internet works - I wonder how many death threats she's gotten due to the release of this video? (And before I get bashed...)What she did is inexcusable, but like the nosy BBQ Betty or whatever she got called, she did get horrible death threats - for being an a**hat. It was a hard lesson to learn, but I am also willing to bet, she really didn't learn much. Racism is mostly inherited, children learning what they see and hear constantly from their family/friends. Our only hope is that many can follow the young man's advice - and send out those positive thoughts into the world to make it a better place.
I know. They don't deserve death threats. That's just over-reacting. BTW, watch the video that was posted by the woman who was filming BBQ Becky. She was harassing and stalking her. She made *herself* look like a screaming idiot.
Load More Replies...OOPPS...If SHE were afraid, she would have gone to her own apartment. Bad keyboard!!!
I cant believe in this day and age there is still such racism. I am sorry this happened to you D"Arreion....not sorry she lost her job. Just look at all the positive posts which shows the majority of people arent hate filled racists.
To all those who defend this woman: Her tone of voice may have been friendly. Her actions were anything but. Actions speak louder than words and her actions just screamed "racist!".
After insulting him and finding out she's made a complete fool of herself she then says she wants to introduce herself? Too little to late b***h, now the whole world knows you're an a*****e!
SHe didn’t want to let him in to the building because she “felt uncomfortable” and yet she gets into the elevator with him. This is absolutely disgusting and his book coming more and more common. It makes me embarrassed to be white
This woman appeared to be actually stalking this man and her behaviour would have been quite frightening to me. What is even more disturbing is that she appeared to think she was justified in acting in such a creepy intrusive manner because his skin colour is different than hers. Her poor little dog looked so very anxious and also underfed and thin. I think I would have called the SPCA about that dog!
I just wish he had called the cops while she was harassing him... Would be great, but i can see her trying to pull a martyrdom if he did so - and as I believe she did when her BS escalated and she lost her job
It as they say watch you say to others for it may come back & bite you in the a*s.
i give that man so much credit. i don't know if i could have kept that calm.
He was amazingly calm in the face of complete stupidity! Wow, I wish I could be more like him!
Not surprising after all look who is running the Country..."Sad" What a deplorable excuse for a woman. Sir not everyone feels like her so always keep your head held high and ignore people like her as best you can, you are awesome..
What an annoying woman!!!!! pff, I would have not been as patient as him >.>
Disgusting....ruled by fear and insecurity along with a superior self esteem. She should be ashamed of herself.....but with her attitude I am not 100% certain that she feels she has any fault in this. Mr. Toles, you are a true gentleman!
I kind of think she sounded drunk. Which is NO excuse. The look on her face though when he's going to his floor....you know she is thinking "C**p. Maybe he does live here?!" Then she tries to spin it that she wants to meet him. Lady, you were in the wrong and you look absolutely crazy.
Start calling the police on THEM for harassment and stalking, maybe then they'll cut this c**p out.
Nope. The police can't do much. He probably has grounds to ask for a restraining order, though, and since restraining orders are public records, that would pretty much screw her for life.
Load More Replies...Some White people need to mimd their own business and this is one of them. If the guy was White I wonder if she would have stopped him from entering after she opened the door.
Wow, she is a real ghoul. One of the best things about the internet is that these bigots can be personally exposed. She’s a disgusting coward and deserves any harassment she receives in turn.
As s****y as this was, I don't understand how it was legally possible she lost her job over this behaviour. In most countries political opinions or even harassment are not considered sufficient legal reasons for an employer to fire an employee, unless this behaviour was directed at a customer. Or did she work for the building's owners?
In America we have At-Will employment and an employer can fire someone for almost any reason, including bad behavior outside work.
Load More Replies...I am so sorry you were treated this way by this vile woman. You handled yourself with dignity and came across as such a nice respectful young man.
@D’Arreion Nuriyah Toles You’re an amazing young man! We’re ALL outraged at this woman, yet you’ve chosen to stay positive! Please hold on to your great attitude! I have no doubt you’ll help make the world a better, happier place to live! Best of luck!
He has the patience of a saint. This shows what an incredible character he has, I would've lost it at the front door of the block! She was so self-righteous, omg it was disgusting...I wanna know this, I wanna know that and she totally believed she was in the right.
This is more racist and horrible than the time the babysat kids were being babysat by a black person. Segregation may have ended but doesn't mean that people have stopped judging by color!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! She is an EMBARRASSMENT!!! I would say that racist white bitches should not be allowed to live in polite society! I hope to God she is EXPELLED from the building!!
On behalf of all white people who are not racist, I apologize for her behavior but let it not reflect upon the majority of us who have more than 4 brain cells.
😂😂😂 I am sorry but supidity of that lady make me laught. You are a sympatic man... So I don't understand. I am from meadle Europe so I know what is rasism but this is too much
Where did she work? I'd like to support them for doing the right thing...
I just dont get it ...... whyyyyyyyyyy what the f**k is wrong with some white people , i live in england and yes racism exists but not like this , discusting , appauling behaviour , should of knocked the b***h out !! ashamed right now to be white
When you thought things can't get more bizarrely annoying... Interesting how she became the very kind of people she fears.
Did she? She's fearing him because his black. She's not scared of him being violent or anything otherwise she'd leave him alone and just call the police. She just thinks she's better than him.
Load More Replies...She is an arrogant, entitled, insensitive b***h!!! This angers me beyond belief!!!! I’m a white woman, and I don’t believe anyone should have to go through this! Who does she think she is? I just want you to know that we aren’t all like her. I don’t know anyone like her! You had the patience of a Saint. Good for you!
Well, I mean, he does still have to live in the same building with her. Assuming she can still afford to live there. I can see why he wouldn't want to be too much of an a-hole about it.
Nobody has to answer to you (her)! Let me stop there before i start cursing
So, now instead of just DWB (driving while black,) there is MIWB - moving in while black, EWB - eating while black, as in the teacher's aid at Smith College taking her lunch in a school break room, SWB - shopping at a deli in NY and brushing against a woman with a backpack, another MIWB in NY, SWWB - a child selling bottled water. 911 was called in all those instances, and there are many more. Heinous.
So she said “I am uncomfortable” and then she got into the elevator alone with him. Doesn’t sound uncomfortable to me. This is happening way too often and it needs to stop. It makes me embarrassed to be white. Kudos to A’Darreion for keeping his cool.

Must be uncomfortable for her to bump into him in the building...
Why is it that there are still a lot of people whose living under the rock while wearing their a*s in there heads?
That was absolutely disgusting!! I hope she is horribly embarrassed and can learn to not be so ignorant in the future. She needs serious counseling.
As a Security Officer, I can educate you to know about the rules that only apply for Canada. Here is The Rights and Freedoms for all Canadian are set out in the 34 sections which form the Charter. I just go through from Sections 7 to Section 9. Life, liberty and security of the Person 7. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice. Search or Seizure 8. Everyone has the right to be secure against UNREASONABLE search or seizure. Detention or Imprisonment 9. Everyone has the right not to be ARBITRARILY detained or imprisoned This is for my fellow Canadian. It is a dejected thing to see this kind of behaviours and unacceptable. Let us all learn from it, or we are going to be doomed to see it again, but this time in our beautiful country.
I wrote some pretty angry words on Twitter already, so I have rid most of my initial fury. But I must say that I ABSOLUTELY NEED to take lessons from Mr Tole (apologies if I blew spelling), he was calm, respectful and an incredible gentleman, whilst she was a complete and unadulterated A*****E!! There are too damn many a******s and not enough people who act classy and dignified! I used to be the latter, but I've let anger get the better parts of me, and I needed this Brilliant Gentleman to remind me! Thanking YOU, Mr Tole and wishing you a lifetime of happiness and abundance! GODSPEED!!
America has really become a scary and dangerous place for people of colour, make America great again!
I feel like we dont need to say 'i would have lost my temper' but rather 'great that you kept your cool'. This man handled this situation very well and should be more normal than it is. She got what she deserved and i think she wouldnt have if this guy would yell, curse or get physical. He didnt lower himself to her level and that gets you places.
I worked in an apartment building where all tenants were strictly told not to hold the security door for anybody as doing so defeats the purpose of having a security door in the first place. People has to be buzzed in or use their own key to get in the building. This happened after numerous car break ins in the underground parkade from people who were gaining access by waiting for someone to let them in the building. He did not show his fob or let her close the door so he could let himself in. I don’t see anything racist about this. Giving someone access to a secure area when you are not sure that they have permissible access is not a racist at all. When she realized that he had a key she even tried to introduce herself. Use your head snowflakes, not every incident between two people of different skin colours is race based.
I just don’t get why she was being so racist. All she managed to do was make her self look like a cruel and racist person. Praise to him for being so patient, I would’ve totally lost it, someone did that to me.
She is not concerned for her safety, she merely wants to show that she is a RACIST !!!
It's a shame. This should have been a good teaching moment but no-one is listening to each other , this will never end at this rate.
While it was a secure building, everyone in NYC still holds a door open for the person behind them, it's just polite. If she didn't believe he was a tenet she could have made a comment about their being neighbors to suss him out. Once she threatened to call the cops and he kept insisting that he lived there, she should be able to tell he wasn't a robber. Her motives appear suspect and come off as harassing. It's kind of amazing that he was as calm as he was. I doubt I could have managed that.
What a marvelous man! I would love to have him in my life. He is right, we all choose the kind of world we live in by managing our reactions to the things that happen to us. His own response to the responses was even better, and no, I cannot understand the schadenfreude at her losing her job, it was certainly not his intention when uploading the video.
hello,Im sorry for her behavior,no one of any color should be treated this way,I ashamed sometimes to be white due to this ignorant behavior! bottom line we are all human beings, man, women we all bleed the same we all have emotions why do people act like this you should be ashamed yourself, lets show love, kindness, positivity to all people, kathy romanello
There are many options as motives for her rude behavior (none giving her the authority to physically block a person from moving): 1. She was honestly suspicious of a person entering the house without a key and went overboard even after noticing she was wrong out of shame or stuborness 2. She's "that person" in the house, prying on other people's business and generally being a sad, obtrusive person without any life of her own. 3. She was drunk or on drugs. 4. She's a neurotic wreck, for whatever reason. 5. She's a shameless racist. Now, why would so many of you jump to the conclusion that she's a full blown racist is beyond me. All you see are shades of skin color of which you deduce that it must've been a racist incident.
I am sad that it took this and for her loosing her job for people to realize that their belief system is not within the grasp of their own reality. The whole point of him sending her good vibes is in the hopes that she changes her view of human beings no matter what they look like or where they are from. I have no idea what it is like to be a black man, and I know that I never will. My hope is that I am aware enough on how I treat people and how I leave anyone I come into contact with. Bravo for D’Arreion and his patience and sending good vibes her way.
Wow! What was she thinking? He is a man, he lives in the building too, they walk into each other in the door, that was it. Oooohhhh right, my bad, he is black. So what? What neurons in her brain told her he is not living here? Tell me please. Bad, bad behavior in your part lady.
By her logic... OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOS THIS GUY IS BLACK HE CANT GET THROUGH
As of today's (10/17/18) news, she is completely unapologetic. She says the building rules are you don't let anyone in. So she should have closed the door, let him use his key or fob, and let it be. Instead, she followed him to his door and despite his having a key, called the police. These people should be fined for false alarms.
May I say something to defend this woman? She has entered her building, which is obviously specially protected. Someone, whether black or white, has joined her to use the open door. She now asks if he also lives here and has a key. The simplest solution would have been: Close the door. He opens with his key. Then he always says: this is my house. I live here and he's probably right about that. Still, I don't think that's right. To make a long story short: why doesn't he just say: look, that's my key. and yes, in the end it's probably idiotic to send the police to an apartment that's obviously inhabited,
Look, there was a much better way of handling this than she did. Instead of "I can't let you in for security reasons because I don't know if you're a thief." Or "I'm scared and I want proof you live here." She could have said "You need to use your keycard/code so they know who is in the building and who isn't so in case they have to emergency evacuate the building for say a fire, they can make sure everyone gets out safely and is accounted for." But her attitude and superiority complex got in the way. If you want to people to do something your way, ask or say it in a way that they will think about how it benefits them, not you.
So she said “I’m uncomfortable“ and yet she got in the elevator with him. This is gotten way out of control and it’s happening way too often. It makes me embarrassed to be white. Kudos to D’Arraion for keeping his cool.
This is just a statement about my southern upbringing. Born in Mississippi raised in Memphis. Daddy born in Nebraska settled in Chicago . My point is I grew up in the middle of white territory. Not once did I ever hear my wonderful parents refer to people of color by the N word. This was years ago, I was born in1944. My point is not all of us were racist, nor are we now.
Why did she lose her job, exactly? The punishment does no fit the crime.
Looks to me like she should take better care of the poor dog instead of harassing an innocent man.
Of course, what would REALLY show her up would be for him to invite her into his apartment for a coffee and a chat.
What z pig of a woman. I apologise to you darlin for this ignorant red neck. Unfortunately, when I lived in the States I experienced this towards my co worker first hand. I was disgusted!
wow lady get a life !! I feel sorry for the dog who has to live with such a hateful know it all mind your own business .. good Lord go home nosey I would hat e to have her as a neighbor !!
Wow! That’s just pure craziness. I’m glad the public held her accountable.
How embarrassing how at the end she tried to say if he was a neighbor she wanted to introduce herself. Like he would want anything to do with her!!! And even after it was clear he had keys and everything she called the cops??
Good on this guy! Hope this "woman" gets all the karma she deserves for that s**t
I am going to follow Mr. Toles request. If he can maintain his cool with this woman, then I am going to try to do the same. She has just created a major life crisis for herself and is receiving terrible remarks in response to her behavior. However, Mr. Toles is looking beyond her behavior to address the human being. Kindness is what will make the difference, Thank you Mr. Toles!
First what I’d like to say is that the woman’s behavior is disgusting and primitive. H/e Americans need to ask themselves how is it that this is happening in 2018. I was fortunate to be raised in one of the most diverse places in the U.S., if not the world, so I believe I’m qualified to share why ppl may be racist. I have made friends with lots of ppl of different backgrounds. A) lack of diversity in their areas B) but largely due to the media. Shows like Maury and Bill Cunningham, don’t do any favors for black ppl. 3) Also, I see that it’s beyond frustrating to be black in America. I may be able to relate a little w/ maybe having a mental illness. Many ppl have called me bi-polar and as a result I purposely acted like it bc my response was, “I’ll show you what bipolar looks like really!” Let’s just say, it did nothing to help my cause. Don’t feed into stereotypes..it only makes things worse.
This is sad. She ís so scary: following him to his door... he did right to act like a gentleman.
I live downtown Saint Louis in one of these many luxury loft. I wanna know which one so if for some reason I have to move (not planning on it in the near or distant future) I won't move to the ones that b***h is in.
That's alwful and she should apologize, hopefully learn a lesson, but lose her job?
It'll teach her that her attitude is unacceptable. Racists have gotten it in their heads that their behavior will be tolerated because Trump is in office. They're learning the hard way that that isn't the case.
Load More Replies...What she did was so wrong......but im trying to find the racist element here? Whats to say that she wouldn't do this to a white young man she didn't recognise that was entering the building? In residential buildings like i have been in like this there was always an issue with "tailgating". The building manager would always say to never let someone in the building that hasnt held there fob to the key pad and it flashes green. A huge lesson was learned one year when an abusive boyfriend got into the building and beat his girlfriend unconscious. I think she felt she had got to the point of no return before he showed her his fob and did the rest to prove a point. But because we dont know if she would do this to ANYONE entering the building i think its wrong to assume she did it because of his colour. :/
Your scenario implies that a woman questioning the abusive boyfriend would have stopped him entering the building. Can't begin to explain how unlikely that would be or how dangerous.
Load More Replies...This makes me angry and frustrated on so many levels. His restraint not to cuss her entitled self out is beyond astonishing because she had it coming. He was such the better person! She demeaned him In so many ways. Blocked him! questioned him, who, why, where? She did not let it go! Kept on and on! Followed him! How dare she to begin with? She is going to do this (self entitlement)to the wrong human someday and be very shocked at the result. Just Wow. She definitely looked stupid.
Thinking people 'have it coming' in the form of being cussed out is a bit unhelpful. If anyone starts that they instantly alter the dynamics and make themselves look bad. If we all treat ignorance with politeness and, if necessary, explanations (which were NOT necessary here) then life goes far more smoothly for us all.
Load More Replies...The great American NIGHTMARE! How long does this type of behavior will still be part of your Great American NIGHTMARE. Total shocked that this is still happening. This woman looks like white trash. She looks so unkept. She's to fat to wear leggings, her fake fur looks so used and she is so ugly in her soul. Disgusting.
This is not what "white privilege" looks like. This is what "white a*****e" looks like. I'm so sorry this happened to you. What the heck is wrong with people?
I tried hard to think of an explanation for her behavior, maybe he didn't have a key, was wandering aimlessly. But the video ain't good. So, in order to look on the bright side I am going to cling to the hope that 99.9 % of people will think her behavior is abhorrent and beyond abnormal, and maybe there is hope for us becoming classless society (the good kind of classless) someday. Also, maybe this is photoshop? They forgot to give her the required Starbucks cup to go with the yoga pants/vest/and brown boots uniform.
Why do people do so many mental contortions to believe a white person over a black person?
Load More Replies...This is not racist! This is a secured building that requires a keyfob to get in the building! And yes when you would out of a secured building and someone is trying to enter without using their key, you feel responsible! She didnt recognize him as a resident and she only wanted to feel secure by seeing his keyfob and she would have left him alone! I couldnt even watch the rest of the video. OMG i use to work in a secured building and people would always try to come in while i was coming out and I always made them show employee ID or they had to go through main entrance, regardless of race! Now had she said nothing to him and just called the police, then she would have been called a racist because then people would say she would have just asked a white man but didnt ask him because he was black.
Omg. HE is the obvious racist here. Are you kidding me? He lives in a secure building. You aren't supposed to let anyone piggy back into the building off of your access. She was walking out of the building with her dog and he tries to go around her and into the building. If he's supposed to be there, he'd have the key fob or the code. He knows the rules, doesn't he want his secure building to be safe? Why didn't he just follow the rules, let her shut the door behind her and then let himself in like you're supposed to? I wouldn't have let this stranger in. Black, white or otherwise. I like how he assumed she won't let him in because he's black. Not just because he's a stranger. And pulls the race card. She obviously wasn't afraid of him as she entered the elevator with him and she was just as polite as he was. He instigated the problem by not following the rules. Because she's white she's clearly a racist. What a load of s**t.
Have you read her side of the story? He followed here through a key FOB secured door, She asked to see his key FOB rather than letting someone she did not know was a resident into the building, if he had just pulled out his key there wouldn't have been a problem.
He knew the names of the f*****g manager and several others in the building. Are you stupid?
Load More Replies...I won't let anyone in my building either, I don't car what colour they are. They should have shut the door and he can let himself in. Jeezuz
soo many ppl are so quick to blurt out the "cards" as the answer, b/c they get rewarded for giving the"right" answer... when once diving deeper, you can find there might be a different motive. They call the "cards" out... because they are either too lazy, or that is all they know to do
I loved that at the end of the 2nd video he gives her his name, "My name is Mr. Toles."
When i look at it that is just stupid beyond imagination. But if she was doing her job as she should then firing her would not be in my opinion the best thing to do. A good worker will find new job easily. It will be a drag but she could. A big fine that she would have to pay would be a better thing. It would be in "rates" so the money she earned would be just enough to pay the bills and buy some food but nothing fancy. And make it last for some time so it would be cumbersome. Now she will just find another job this way or the other, and her mind set will probably wont change. Then again trying to reason with this case may be just waste of time.
If she rents in that building she should be thrown out. Make her homeless racist b***h.
do the police over there just rush over for any old b******t? well no wonder they can't fight actual crime
Well, there's no telling what she told them. "Rich white lady in trouble."
Load More Replies...She acted inappropriately either way, but was she trying to block him because he was black or because he didn't use the keypad to enter a secured building? She specifically asks him to use the keypad. I would be suspicious if somebody entered a secured building as I opened the door instead of using the keypad, too. I wouldn't have physically blocked them, but I would have called security regardless of their color.
where I live, you are encouraged to not let people "piggyback" through security doors. they are locked for a reason and if you are supposed to have access you will have a key/keycode
Load More Replies...So I agree that she was an idiot and mean but I'm still not sure if this began as racism. Why isn't it possible that she saw that he didn't use the Main door key and refused to show it and just wanted to make sure that he's not there to do harm? Since he was a complete stranger to her. And yes, she acted like a moron for most of the time but why are people so sure that it was racism since the beginning?
She never said anything about him being black. The race card is always brought up by the black people. All she wanted was to see if he had a door fob so he wouldn't follow her in like he was trying to do. He obviously didn't have one. What's the problem here?
She never said anything about him being black. He didn't have a door fob. What's the problem here?
Why are you all assuming she's racist? She asked him, before he started recording, if he could show his FOB. He went in because she has the door propped open and she had never seen him before. She was actually following the protocol of her apartment building after someone got mugged there. He could have just been polite and shown her his fob and understood. Rather than turn into something racial.
Sure she's married to a black man and this guy entered the building by pushing past her without using his security key fob, but racism.
ikr... soo many ppl are so quick to blurt out the "cards" as the answer, b/c they get rewarded for giving the"right" answer... when once diving deeper, you can find there might be a different motive. They call the "cards" out... because they are either too lazy, or that is all they know to do
Load More Replies...So then she would like to introduce herself as a neighbor after her behavior was despicable. So, now she has lost her job because of her big mouth and probably will have to downgrade her living situation. She got what she deserves.
She has NO RIGHT to question him. She has NO RIGHT to ask for ID. She has NO RIGHT to block his way to his home. She has NO RIGHT to stalk him. She was NOT "scared" of him. ...///... I've run into silly asses like her before. In fact, I was questioned by some moronic curtain twitcher in my own neighbourhood once because she didn't think my car was "expensive enough" that I should be allowed to go to my own home. The dumbass actually told me that "staff isn't allowed to park on the street".
Load More Replies...Really, not. She felt he wasn't good enough to be in a luxury apartment building. She doesn't need to be frightened or angry to feel better than other people.
Load More Replies...You're just going to believe all that despite the video? He had a key fob. He used his key to get in his apartment. He said he buzzed in. She is not security. I don't wish hate on her but condo association board members need to stop making people feel they should be putting themselves at risk - if he was doing something illegal do you really think it was a safe thing to do? It is not.
Load More Replies...It's the assumption she makes that he doesn't belong. He tells her he lives there and she doesn't believe him and immediately demands to know which unit. He doesn't have to tell her but he tells her the floor number. Then she starts following him and asking 'who are you going to see' because she still doesn't believe that he lives there. Not until they are on the fourth floor and it looks like, wow, maybe he could live here after all, that she comes up with the neighbour excuse for wanting to know who he is. If she felt justified in doubting he’s a resident why come up with this second excuse suddenly? It sounded ridiculous after everything else she had done. Racism is far from being about just about fear. There is thinking that you are better, that you have the right to demand answers because you don't think a person should be where they are. She doesn't need to use one racial slur - it's her actions and her treatment of him. Part 1
Load More Replies...Or instead of blocking him she could have just explained herself in a nice polite way. She was extremely rude right from the start. You are putting all the blame on him and yet her behaviour is not on. When someone starts rudely making demands it tends to rile most people. Whether or not it is a good idea to check who is following you into the building you don't have the right to demand proof they live there unless you are security or the police. He didn't have to do a damn thing she asked of him.
Load More Replies...Only the police or any building security has the right to ask for proof. No-one has to provide it to residents no matter what they might think. You can ask, but it should be nicely done. Why be rude to someone you might be living alongside? There are many reasons why someone might be in the building and not live there. Visitors to residents, any number of trades. You can disagree all you like but thinking someone should have 'rights' is very different from legally having THE right. This woman was rude and he only pushed past after asking several times and then politely saying he was going to. She should not have been blocking him.
Load More Replies...Because telling racists that they're racist is scary? You go live in your cave and hide out sucking your thumb. The rest of us will make sure that the racists do not get away with their garbage.
Load More Replies...SmallTownGirl: That's because you are a stupid and ignorant person, like Martin.
Load More Replies...It's HOW she did it. Demanding answers, refusing entry as though she had the right. She could have explained politely and if she had it would probably have been so different. Yet people are quick to blame him for not obeying her orders, her DEMANDS. She isn't security. The fact she called the cops AFTER he let's himself in to his apartment is what makes it clear to me that she had a problem with him. She didn't think someone like him could be a tenant.
Load More Replies...She wasn't intimidated in the slightest! How about - door was already open so he just started to go through, perhaps not thinking about it, and is very rudely stopped. She could have been friendly and said hello. Maybe a nice 'I've not seen you here before, have you recently moved in?' Or politely ask to see his key. Instead she was rude. She blocks him. He asks politely to get by several times before doing so with minimal contact that she causes. She was NOT intimidated despite her smaller stature as she chose to get in the lift with him. HE was filming because he was uncomfortable. She took the lead on all the interactions that took place. She watched him go in to his own flat, with his own key yet she decides he can't be a tenant and the police should be involved. He even gave her his name before going inside. I find it hard to believe she did this for the good of her neighbours! She didn't want HIM to be a tenant of 'her' luxury block.
Load More Replies...The standards for secure state buildings vs residential buildings generally aren't the same. Yes, he could have introduced himself but do people when confronted with someone who is rude, pushy and demanding things she has no right to demand? She was horrendous and it isn't any wonder he didn't want to go along with any of her 'requests'! She is not the building's security.
Load More Replies...Why should the company, who had nothing to do with this, lose out while trying to change her attitude? Okay, maybe make her take them if she is willing to pay OR she loses her job. She can take them in her own time too. Sadly, I suspect it's too much privilege and not lack of education that's responsible and all you'd probably gain is someone who just hides their racism better.
Load More Replies...People can do far more than SAY racist things. She did not believe he belonged in that building, she called the police saying she did not believe he was a tenant. The world is far more than spoken insults.
Load More Replies...Well, there is polite curiosity and saying Hello, we haven't met before and then there is blocking, demanding answers, refusing to believe his answers. Going into his own property and having the police called on you because she decided she didn't believe him. Don't be so naive as to fall for that neighbour s**t - that was just another tactic. No-one bar building security and the police have the right to demand anything of this man.
Load More Replies...If he didn't have one then how did he get into his apartment? And even if he didn't have one, it's not her place to assume.
Load More Replies...He doesn't squeeze in. She blocks him and starts questioning. He said he 'buzzed' and as she was going out & we don't see his approach we can't be sure he didn't. The fact is she's still questioning him even as he goes into his apartment. THEN she calls the police and just because she was uncomfortable and didn't think he was a tenant. He used his key! Her problem was that he wasn't her idea of the right type of tenant. Do you really think if she'd been been pleasant that this is still what would have happened? Some people say 'he could have just used his key' and blame him. How about her saying 'I'm sorry, we're not supposed to hold the door for people we don't know so would you mind using your own key this time and once I know you have it then I can hold the door in future, and I'm X by the way'. She was bloody rude and antagonising. Most people get stubborn when doing nothing wrong and yet get bombarded with questions.

Load More Replies...Who does she think she is?

Kudos to A’Darreion for keeping his cool.
https://fox2now.com/2018/10/16/woman-in-viral-video-with-black-man-speaks-out-after-being-fired-defends-her-actions/
Part 1

Load More Replies...That sentence right there is why people are racist. You give her the biggest beating of the century, you've just become the person she's afraid of. Prove her different.
Load More Replies...Funny, I don't see Progessives being the ones calling the cops on people just because of their color. The lady at the park could have reported to it to the people who run the park. You're part of the problem.
Load More Replies...Or maybe, she was a racist woman who was trying to target an innocent man.
Load More Replies...LOL...yeah...you WOULD know what ignorant is because you ARE the epitome of it! SMH
Load More Replies...Go away you racist troll! You are what's wrong with America!
Load More Replies...She's not a security guard so she HAS NO RIGHT even asking for it! And if he didn't use his card key, HOW DID HE GET IN?! So obviously he used it!
Load More Replies...Eh? In what way did she display mental illness? Don't make excuses for bad behaviour by suggesting it isn't someone's fault.
Load More Replies...She caused her job loss, not him. She should own her behaviour and not blame others for her downfall.
Load More Replies...She's not "unstable" and she's not "sick". She's a racist. That is not a mental illness, that's a CHOICE.
Load More Replies...it is possible to be racist against white women you know, well you should know, you just did it, twice in one post. wow. nice. Shining example of WOKE there.
