Racist Woman Blocks Black Man From Entering His Own Luxury Apartment, Gets The Lesson Of A Lifetime
Community member
After a ‘great’ example of white fragility known as BBQ Becky comes, sadly, Debbie Doorway. The latest discrimination example of a white woman calling the police on people of color for simply going about their daily business has gone viral, and it’s just as ugly as you’d expect.
The woman, who we have chosen not to name, confronted D’Arreion Toles as he tried to enter the building that they share in St. Louis, Missouri. Claiming that she felt ‘uncomfortable’ with D’Arreion entering the building, she proceeded to block him while demanding to know his name and which apartment he lived in.
The incident was captured on video by D’Arreion himself and has since gone viral after he shared it with this message: “To be a black man in America and come home. A woman tries to stop me from coming into my building because she feels insecure, Downtown St. Louis luxury loft, because she doesn’t feel that I belong, never really thought this would happen to me, but it did! Then 30 mins later police knock on my door because she called! I was shocked this is racism in America in 2018!”
Soon after the obvious racial discrimination video went viral the internet tracked down the woman and exposed her identity, leading to her losing her job. D’Arreion, while shocked and upset to be treated in such a way, doesn’t want a witch hunt, however. “Don’t bash the woman, just send her positive waves of energy,” he wrote. “Let’s be great people, this is our world, and this message is to everyone of all ages/ races/ colors/! We only get one life so let’s make the most of it and be great, no time for being rude people!”
Scroll down below to see how it all unfolded for yourself, and let us know in the comments what you think about racism being well and alive.
This is D’Arreion Toles, from Chicago but living in St. Louis, Missouri. He recently had a shocking experience that he decided to share
He captured the whole episode on camera
He posted the videos on Facebook, where they went viral and were viewed by over 1 million people
After he shared the videos, many people jumped to his defense
He was more than surprised by the response
The woman ended up losing her job, after the internet exposed her identity to the world

This lazy panda forgot to write something about itself.
Who does she think she is? She's not security. No-one has to answer to her for coming into a building even if they don't live there. His patience is remarkable. Mine would not have been. She must have lied to the police to get them to attend a man politely ignoring her questions and then peacefully entering his own apartment. Disgusting behaviour and yet she seriously cannot see what she did wrong.
I agree that noone has to explain themselves to anyone upon entering a building, but apartment thefts do happen and we all should remain cautios. If someone acts suspicious (of course not the case here - he was clear he lived there, had keys etc) contact authorities. Don't ever take matters in your own hands, because if that person happens to be a burglair, you might end up in a very bad place.
Load More Replies...If she was worried about being cautious, she would have not rode in an elevator with an unknown man. It started off as racism. Why is this black man in this cool apartment building that I pay for? Then she couldn’t back out of it

If you are following someone into a building, you damn right have to prove who you are, especially if you don't have a fob for the keypad. She had every right to stop him. This had nothing to do with race. You people (yes I said you people, as in all of you people, not just black people in general) pull that fcking race card way too fcking much.
Boredpanda has chosen not to name her...I haven’t. It’s Hilary Brooke Thornton. This took place in Missouri.
Do you think she seemed drunk though? Not an excuse obviously but I felt her words were slurred and her eyes were unfocused. I started watching this with an open mind. Some of these video titles are exaggerated. This one made me so angry though. When he got passed her and she said "Are you hitting me?" my blood boiled. Fair play to him though. He kept his cool when I probably wouldn't have.
being drunk is not an excuse for being a damn bigot. If Mel Gibson can't get away with it neither can this cow.

She's the apartmant nazi. "No apartment for you - two weeks!!" What a fitte!
Am I the only one wondering why it is that someone so "terrified" of having a black man in her building felt free to not only follow him around yammering at him, she actually made body contact while trying to block his way to the door? ...///... What does that tell us?
That she wasn't remotely frightened of him so she has NO justifications for her actions.
Load More Replies...I'd be willing to bet she knew damned well he lived there and just wanted to be disagreeable.
I wouldn't follow someone I was scared of. Her pretending to want to know him at the end was pathetic.

Once she realized he wasn't a real threat she tried to be nice again. I wouldn't have been. I would have made sure that door shut on anyone in a big city who doesn't have a key fob.
Exactly. If a women is afraid of a men, she never ever gets in an elevator with him.
Idk ladies did you see how polite he was? How he kept his tone even? How he SEEMED to be doing absolutely nothing wrong? That can be very scary for a racist entitled b****. Had she let her guard down for even a second he might have respectfully called her ma'am again. Cant be too safe! *eye roll*
He can't push back. That's how black men get killed in this society. Parents have to teach their black sons NEVER to resist, even if it means letting someone harm them because everyone is going to see them as being in the wrong. This is an ugly, racist culture. He stayed calm because of long practice.
He didn't even try to push past her. A decent person... No wonder she didn't recognise him!
Thank you for saying that Aunt Messy. That's what I always think about when I see these videos - of course the people being accused are being overly polite, they don't want to give anyone a reason to shoot them.
That she is just a bigoted bully who thinks she has the right to do this. With a president who condones and supports this s**t...no wonder!
Yes, with a president showing the example of being a racist, how are parents able to teach their children, also, It is amazing this continues in this century !!!
AND she got in an elevator with someone she didn't feel 'safe' around? Seriously....gah!
I had the same thoughts. She acted like a bully not someone afraid of an invader. To get into an elevator alone with someone who you believed was a threat is the ultimate foolishness, thus one could surmise that she was stupid on all accounts. Makes me sick. Racism isn't just in the person, but starts with the family and upbringing. To stop it, we need to ensure as parents we aren't teaching it at home. I see racism blacks against whites, native American against white, as much as whites against other races. We all need to do our part. Pat on his back for keeping his patience and not reacting. Not sure I could have done that.
we're not all parents though
Came here to say the same thing, only you did it better--and the KEY excuse. Obv if he 'didn't belong" he'd not have had a key too enter his OWN apartment.
and she ALONE got into the elevator with him. OH PLEASE LADY. F***k you
And get into an elevator alone with someone they stated that they were uncomfortable with? Nah, she was harassing him.

I don't believe she was afraid of him. I believe she was concerned that he tried to enter a secure building as she opened the door instead of using the keypad. She specifically asks him to use the keypad early in the video. I don't think this one is a race issue. I think if he had just let the door close and used the keypad to access the building, they all could have gone on their merry way.
If you don't think this is about race, then you're an idiot. If a white man the same age had done the same thing, she'd have been hitting on him and asking him to come over to her place.
She was blocking the door either way - couldn't open, couldn't close. Yes, he could have said, "Just close the door" and waited until she moved to open it again himself, but she was acting weird herself.
Okay - let's say that all of the same things happen but he's white. Does she still call the police? I really don't think so. What reason is there for calling the police? It's because she didn't think he belonged even with the key - I expect she thought he'd obtained the key to that apartment in some illegal way.

Is that what you would have done, Aunt Messy? You have no idea how this woman would have behaved had the man been white and done the same thing. He bypassed the security feature and, therefore, she had reason to be concerned.

Alex, I don't care what color you are, if you try to enter a secure apartment building by trying to go through when somebody else opens it instead of using the keypad, I would be calling security or the police. I wouldn't block the door, like this silly woman did, but bypassing the security feature is a concern regardless of color.

Are we only getting black people to comment? Who says she is rasist and wouldn't have had a fear of just anyone coming off the street that she evidently didn't see using "The usual channels" whatever let youmin in the first place and a key pad whick most would hav ebeen O>K> with showing her. She was pretty snoopy, but any race could have been a predator (i.e. Ted Bundy)So I think she was also brave. and that he was racially "baiting" her to keep questioning him.
OF COURSE---We always have to have "that one" white guy that is an apologist and blames the black dude..."racially baiting her"? He was trying TO GO HOME. Nothing more. It is pathetic when you can catch something THIS wrong and obvious on video....and we STILL have certain people lauding her and criticizing the guy. Unbelievable and shameful.
Um...I'm fish belly white. I'm so pale I don't even have freckles. Also, I'm blond with green eyes. Questions?
I guarantee if black people did this kind of s**t they'd be arrested right away.
I'd add any other color that is not white did this they would be arrested and jailed for 20 years.
sadly maswartz, I think you're right. I think she is clearly racist , not afraid at all, or why get in the lift with him? she's an idiot and was shown up for it !
She definitely lied to the police to get them there, and that IS agains the law. This guy is being way too nice saying he won’t take any action against her. Its great he forgives her, but there needs to be consequences for this type of stuff or it continues. Yes she lost her job, but the way she and others like her are using and lying to the police to harass people needs to be stopped.
