Bride Complains Her Wedding Dress Looks ‘Nothing Like Order’, Gets An Email Saying It’s Inside Out
Every bride dreams of looking perfect on their wedding day, so you can imagine this woman’s fury when hers arrived and looked nothing like what she ordered online.
But after sending an angry message to the store, the US woman made an embarrassing discovery: she had tried the dress on inside out.
Bride-to-be Deux Aubrey decided to admit her mistake and made a humorous Facebook post, revealing how she got into this situation in the first place.
“This was not a joke, I wish it were but I am not that creative,” she wrote. For those asking ‘How this happened?’, Aubrey explained that she was sleep-deprived from doing 16-24 hour shifts for a living and having to go through her finals week. So when her partner laced her up, the initial skepticism with the company and disappointment of having to shop online for the big occasion as opposed to physically picking things out for herself and the whole pandemic got the better of her.
“I have no idea about fashion or shipping measures for formal dresses. I wear scrubs and tactical boots for a living,” Aubrey continued. “No, I am not a natural blonde but it fits the bill on this one. Hoping other brides can read this and not panic or get upset when their dress arrives in the mail.”
A few weeks ago, bride-to-be Deux Aubrey ordered a wedding dress on the Internet and couldn’t wait to receive it

When the dress finally arrived at her doorstep, Aubrey was sleep-deprived, in a rush between jobs, and generally upset with having to prepare for her big day online

This is how the dress was being marketed

But when her partner laced her up, Aubrey looked like this

She got really angry and contacted the company, trying to return the dress

But after going through her photos, the company told Aubrey she had worn the dress inside out

The woman made a humorous Facebook post explaining the situation
“To answer confusion, yes, I said ‘husband’ [and] no, I’m not taking a second [one],” Aubrey said in an update of the post. “We signed the paper for us but are planning a wedding for photos, families, and friends at a better point for us financially. You are never too late to have a wedding of your dreams and never allow the stress of self-paid wedding finances dictate your readiness to commit to each other.”
The couple both work in a field where they see that people aren’t promised another day, let alone another year, and constantly watch lives cut short before they ever get the chance to flourish. “That decision for us was before Covid but now definitely many brides are finding themselves in the same boat. A marriage and a wedding never have to happen on the same day, all in the timeline that works for you. People who love you will understand your financial [situation] or current safety constraints and show up later down the road anyway,” Aubrey said.
“I’ll take a real pic [in the dress] when we finally get to walk down the aisle in a pandemic-free setting and may recirculate this moment for another stressed out bride, once again. The save the dates we send out to our loved ones are for sure gonna say something like ‘to see the dress worn right’.”
Aubrey said you can cry about the disasters and imperfect moments that hit us when we least expect them, or you can laugh into forever. “I’m glad you could join us with a light heart and laugh with us into that forever. May your wedding ‘disasters’ be simple fixes or at least one day hysterical in retrospect too.”
I would have liked to see a picture of her in the dress the right way.

She would still look like a tattooed bimbo.
Tired and stressed out or not, surely you would feel all those ruffles around your legs with it on inside out?
It was shipped inside out apparently, I don't think my first idea would be to turn it inside out.. (if I were super tired )
If I were super tired and in a rush between jobs, I sure as hell wouldn’t be patient enough to get all laced up, let alone spending the energy to write an angry mail as a first reaction...
Ordered gowns are usually shipped inside out to protect the gown. I would've thought the tags on the outside would've been a pretty clear indicator....
A lot of dresses have a fluffy slip sewn in under the dress so maybe that's what she thought.
I can definitely see this happen. Last year I went out with my pants inside out in the morning (tired and in a hurry) and didn’t notice until I arrived at work and a nice girl stopped me on the street and asked me if it was intentional 😂😂 she saved me from going into the office and becoming the joke of the year. lol.
I’m sure your pants didn’t have ruffles and appliqués, nor were they laced up.
Doireanne Good response!
Yes. This is FAKE STORY.
Kudos to her for having a sense of humour about it.
They probably shipped the dress inside out to preserve the material, just 8n case. I can see the sense in that, but they really should’ve made it clear that they ship like that. Though, TBH, tired or not how do you not notice the seams? Or the tag, if there is one? And lacing that thing up would be nearly impossible inside out. I suspect she did this on purpose, just to post it and get noticed.
I love how the woman was open about her mess-up instead of being all "I'm totally in the right" and trying to blame the company anyway, kudos to her!
Agree but I hope she reached out to the company and apologized.
I hope other people's BS Detectors are going off, as this is a very unlikely mistake. It would be impossible to put that frou-frou next to your skin and not see or feel it, nor think of examining the other side of your bespoke garment for the stitching or a label or anything. I suppose being the centre of attention is a ramping-up process, not just the special day. Fake outrage for attention is an Internet currency more valuable than any bitcoin.
I agree. No way even a blind person would mistake the smooth satin lining for the flounced, ruffled, and scratchy organza outer layer.
Mme de Poppadom Good response!
Well this is three minutes of my morning I can't get back.
How can you not tell it was inside out? Not very smart this one
She’s looking for attention and was happily obliged by Bored Panda.
How could they have laced her up when the laces are on the ‘inside’ (originally the outside)? This story sounds fake.
Her email to the company is probably framed and hanging on their company wall.
Sleep deprivation will make you do crazy things..at one point in my life I was going to school, working, and volunteering, long story short I found my car keys in the ice tray.
Shipping it inside-out, is really standard, and to help protect all the ruffles. If they shipped it right-way-out, the ruffles at the back would be crushed by the entire weight of the dress, pressed against a flat surface. By shipping it inside out, the "back ruffles only have 1/2 the weight of the dress, and are against the "front" ruffles, ie they won't be squished anywhere near as much.
Too much tattoos
Take off tattoos!
I guess it was shipped inside out to protect it, but you'd think there'd be some kind of care note with it, which would include, 'turn outside in.'
Worth writing a bored panda article about, for sure..
yes who would know they ship it inside out ...not me
I never thought companies ship inside out. She's awesome admitting it online though!
Someone needed some more attention
Honestly, she rocked that dress, even inside out. She's obviously going to look spectacular in it when she's wearing it correctly. Congratulations on your nuptials!
She has a great sense of humor and, what is more important, she can laugh at herself. A sign of a strong and functional mind.
Stop. This person just wanted attention (and she got it). There is no way, no matter how tired, that she did not feel all those ruffles an appliqués against her skin. Also, the second her partner tried to lace it they should have realized. So ridiculous how far people will go for 15 minutes of fame and how many people are happy to take them there.
I dont really believe in this story. Seems a bit made up. This coming from a mother of 2 kids with 2 years difference, that was waking up to breastfeed every 2 hours for little more then 4 years.
why do some people have to inject politics into EVERYTHING?
