Vertical Record Player Gives Modern Functions to Retro Device
69Kviews
Israel-based designer Roy Harpaz has come up with an elegant and sleek new vertical design for a record player that effortlessly combines futuristic design and retro function in an egg-shaped package.
Unlike the traditional turntables we’re used to, this one plays the record vertically, almost putting it on display. By scanning through a record, the player can find different points in the song, allowing listeners to skip tracks. This, along with the remote, helps make it a more modern home device, though the wood panel on the front gives it a retro appeal nonetheless.

I have to admit that I get really annoyed when you disappoint me with inventions you say have been invented yet I cannot yet buy them or they're insanely expensive.
This is so cool. I figured record players weren't really even being made anymore, but little do I know... I have friends who love and collect vinyls, this would make a great gift!
Can I be your friend? ;)
please no gift to vinyl lovers, vertical players suck! concept of vertial players existed before, were only a niché-product that did not last. and the remaining players of this time are sold for sick prices because it's sooo "retro", even if another player would do this job twice better for half of the money... would not buy anyway but unless it's unclear how you can supply yourself with fresh needles & stuff...
This doesn't look like a safe way to play vinyl with a traditional stylus... can you say scratched records? ... unless it uses lasers or something else and I have seen compact players like this but you still have to lay them horizontally
Also, anybody who has and plays records knows that this thing is a weapon.
