"He's smart. My dog lets me know that he needs to go out by shitting on the floor." I laughed so hard my colleagues turned around to look at me xD
I laughed out loud too
hahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahah
Yep. I got quite a chuckle out of that too!
i laughed out loud in the middle of class
No, I'd say it's too late.
my friends dog stop fitting in the doggy door so when he needs to go out he sticks his head out through the doggy door and whines
You choose to interpret a lot of things we don't know, like the age of the dog. The owner speaks of him with great affection and I don't see any problems with not using his dog's name. After all, it can get confusing for strangers who don't know the dog. He's just keeping things simple, maybe. Or the dog's name is dog (my son's cat is named Miss Cat!). It's just a funny story.
Maybe the author is protecting privacy of the dog. Anything is possible nowadays...
Simon, the crazy, insane world of politically correct? Cute article, but you certainly don't need the cursing. Doesn't add anything to the story.

Animals are fabulous. They're sweet and kind and silly and smart and dumb all at the same time!! Our greyhound is really quirky 💓
Total adorbs, this big doggo! What a sweetheart!
Your dog is just trying to fill up on wood, must be lacking wood in his diet. LOL. At least doggy is trying to let you know he wants O U T now.
It could be his way to say he misses his old home... Goldies are such sensitive and loving dogs...
I was thinking the same, but I'm not counting, I don't know anything about dogs.
they just need to install his relocation update, but don't, it's too funny (& a little germy..)
Fairly certain that if you own a dog the no germ ship has sailed. (Not that I'm saying it's a bad thing per say).
I volunteer at AGAPE Thrift Store in our town where we earn money for the needy. At Christmas I bought some Bells that hang on the door knob, and taught our Jack Russell Terrier puppy to reach up and ring the bells to go out, and ring some on the outside to come in. Now my hearing-impaired husband can even hear when she wants out & in. It's easier to train the dog than the husband.
He's not dumb at all. He's trained to lick the one specific door in your old house. To you, all doors may be equal, but he, he associates that one door with going outside. All other doors simply can't replace it.
'Put some peanut butter on the front door' XD I DIED🤣
I recon he has a thing for doors :3
The dog is very intelligent, he has taught the humans to come and look for him and let him out, no matter door he's licking!
This dog could not get any sweeter! x'D
I find this to be way too funny for some reason, ow man I am dying xD
My dogs bark really loud whenever they want out. Including late at night.
Loved the doggie!
Wow why would he do that?!
My kind of dog.
My dog used to catch hold of the nearest person and pull using his paws and when it was really uncontrollable he would use sharp barks to get our attention. It pained to to see him ashamed when he used to lose control of his bladder because of his enlarged heart.
I'm still laughing! Cutiss Maximus of dogs!!
All the doors smell the same,he could tell the door before because it had a different smell, dogs have use different methods to differentiate between similar spaces than we do and memory isn't their strong suit.Spray the door with something that he liked and he will always remember.
My dog stares at me, shakes his butt and then runs to back door and stares at it. If you don't get up, he'll come back and do it all over again.
My dog either whines or scratches at the door.
My dog would walk to me, then walk to the door when he wanted out. I even trained him to only go in one area of the yard.
I did babysit for a Canine family member of a friend for a short while. He used to promptly pick up his leash and put it at my feet and look up.
jaja
Lol... my fatty pug sit in my chest and stares straight into my face and it scares the crap out of me EVERY TIME!
I have 2 doggy doors installed. These are excellent.
Doggie Narnia, LOL.
SMART DOG NOT DUMB. HE WAS TRAINED TO GO OUT THIS WAY. NOW HE NEEDS TO BE RETRAINED. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TRAIN A DOG. BUT THIS GUY WILL DO JUST FINE. HE IS JUST CONFUSED.
I love this dog!
Smarter than my last little pinhead. She never learned to alert me when she had to go! In fact, one night I got up to go to the bathroom, when I came back she had peed all over the exact middle of the bed!! Arrg! I ended up sleeping in the recliner that night!
He's for sure trying to find Narnia!
Mine walks to the front door, then comes back and looks at me expectantly.. for peeing, and pooping. If for some reason it happens in the middle of the night, he will not wake us up, but go in the master bathroom, on the floor!
At least he knows which room to use.
so disgusting
U talked tooooooooooooooo much...

This is the limit of the conditioning. LOL. Even flies can learn conditioning, every animal on earth. If you treat your dog as a fly, he will treat you as dumb as you think he is. Get a fly, don't breed dogs. I suffer as this dog is suffering, sorry for that, he can't speak, i will. This is dumb but the dog is not, and i'm sorry for him because he have to live with this dumb humans.
Oh, look, another smug, self righteous pet owner making sweeping assumptions about other people's animals. Boredpanda is rife with assholes like you

This is an older dog, and unlearning everything he/she did for years is difficult. Even older humans become confused with age. The owner, being the pack leader, hasn't gone back and patiently helped his follower relearn things. And worse, the owner never once mentioned the old guy's name, which tells me that he is not a loving dog owner. As everyone here knows, I always talk about Charlie, and never call him "my dog", or "my shih-tzu".
Just bc you tell storys about your dog by saying its name, that does not mean everyone does. So, when I talk about my pets, it depends on who I'm talking to. But that doesn't mean I don't love my pets. Also, you don't know either how old the dog exactly is, nor what the owner does to help or help him not to relearn. Maybe he just don't know how to help him the right way, maybe he tries to figure out, but wanted to tell the story. Maybe he has shorten the story. Its okay to suspect things about a story, but saying it like it would be fact ist kind of wrong.
My dog (I love her more than life itself, still I can talk about her as dog) is 13 and she learns new things easily. I took her when she was 7 and she had to learn a new daily routines and everything. Yes, habits are harder to undo but dogs can learn anything, in any age.
everyone but moi why am I always kept out of the loop wheeeeee
