I am severely asthmatic and if I have to walk through some employee's cigarette smoke to enter a business, I turn around and take my business elsewhere. Not worth it.

Smoking used to be permitted on aeroplanes-the back few rows were designated smoking rows. Obviously the smoke stench didn't confine itself to the back few rows though. My parents both smoked heavily, as did the majority of people in the 70s. We must all have absolutely stunk all the time. These days, the smell of it turns my stomach. Kissing a smoker-yuck.

Smoking needs to go away. I'm happy it's not generally accepted and thrilled more and more people are realizing how awful it is for them.

This person does no "go all over for work". Most countries it's still normal to smoke. Go to Asia FFS. Everyone smokes everywhere.

Interesting that people feel that damaging others lungs especially in closed areas is a right. I worked when smoking by employees in hospitals was ok. What were people thinking? Causing harm has never been a right.

Illegal to smoke in or too close o public buildings in most of Canada and in some places, outdoor venues that attract children, like parks. Outdoor amusement parks can designate an outdoor smoking area, children are not allowed in

I was a casual smoker back in the day because that’s what we did in the 80’s but now I can’t stand the smell. My late father-in-law was a smoker and as his caregiver I would take him to hospital appointments for his bone cancer treatments. Well sometimes on the coldest winter days here in Canada the damn windows of their stupid Jeep Patriot (gutless vehicle) wouldn’t roll down even after I tried everything, so I was suffering with the smoke while driving in a closed vehicle. I would stop periodically and bang on them to see if the warm interior air loosen them. Sometimes I was lucky.

This is the first one on this list that is actually a good thing.

This makes me so damn happy, I remember going to a bar when I turned 21 and worrying about people almost hitting me with their cigarettes because they're drunk

In my country we have strict laws against it and they're being made stricter, e.g. not allowed to place tobacco products near childrens' products so as to avoid incentivising kids. It's basically banned everywhere except your private garden. HOWEVER in practice, most people still smoke in their cars, and at nightclubs forget it, no one gives a f**k, they still smoke.

Maybe don't treat smokers like second class citizens. Not everyone wants to be on medication to curb the anxiety of working with the public. As Bill Hicks said "nonsmokers I have news for you and you only. Nonsmokers die every day. Sleep tight". It's a choice, not an opportunity to judge someone

I purchased a used car a few years ago and the previous owner must have been a smoker. The car lot did great at trying to get the smell out because it wasn't until 8 months later that the New Car smell was gone and the smoker smell started creeping through. I now keep it loaded with refresheners. But, that smoke smell still creeps through every now and again.

Yeah now that I think about it I can't remember the last time I smelled cigarette smoke let alone see someone smoking in public. I'm pretty sure they just use Vape options since it's no longer allowed anywhere basically.

In my county if your living unit shares a wall with another you cannot smoke inside.

Who can afford it anyway? It's a pricey dirty habit. I get actively annoyed when I have to walk behind someone smoking and walking, or worse, just walking holding the lit cigarette and wafting smoke at me. You're not even smoking it!

not sure what smells worse normal cigarette smoke, or pot smoke. sure with weed u only need to do a few hits at a time. n ur good for a few hrs. but damn ive been out shopping, and I've smelled some skiunky azz ppl, like bro did u just come from Woodstock?

This comes down to common sense and courtesy. One should never have to walk through the smoking section to get to the non-smoking section (which still happens). I live in Las Vegas. The Wynn allows smoking but you'd never know it, however the Flamingo will make your eyes water!

When I worked for the phone company they finally banned smoking in the offices only because it saved them money on insurance. It was miserable before that coming into a room full of smoke.

I just wish we could do something about this smog, yea cigerretee smoke is bad, not denying that. Yet gas powered cars create so much pollution we can't have fresh air even if there werent smokers around. My teacher use to say, as soon as you walk out your door, the smog slaps you and infiltrates your lungs. Basically we have no chance (triple that in a city) for fresh air thanks to these pollutants. Yes we need to curve cigarettes but what can we do about the smog

They are not vanishing fast enough in Europe. I was a bartender when they made smoking in bars illegal and had a little dance of joy. Still see smokers everywhere outside though.
