In our eyes, all cats are beautiful, so deciding which cat should win our photo competition is never an easy task.

Nevertheless, winning a spot in our book - or calendar for that matter - (check our previous post!) does not just depend on how beautiful your cat is.

Other parameters such as quality, creativity, and originality play a very important part when it comes to selecting the winning entries that will make the photobook.

Nothing is quite more thrilling than seeing your beautiful kitty featured in an international high-quality photobook printed on glossy paper.

We've been making hundreds of cat moms and dads, all around the world, happy and proud since 2013.

As cat lovers ourselves, we know how much we love and enjoy having our cat's picture taken! So, we thought it'd be great if we could give our audience the opportunity to share their cats with the world, not just virtually! That's how the idea of making our yearly photo book was born.

The design and quality of our books have been enhanced since we started in 2013, and our photo contest participants seem to master their photography skills better as years go by, so the final product gets more beautiful every year!

Now you’re wondering, "Do I have to be a PRO to enter the LoveCATS photo contest and get my cat featured in their photobook?" The answer is… absolutely NOT! If you have a beautiful kitty and a smartphone that can take high-resolution pics, you’re good to go! If you have a good digital camera or you’re an amateur photographer, that’s even better but certainly not a requirement.

What are the chances of my kitty getting selected? If you submit a great shot that is also great quality in terms of size, lighting, and definition, chances are high! We issue as many editions per year as we can, so that no great snapshot is left out; we have issued up to six editions per year, which means more than 200 cats won a spot in our photobook!

When will I know if my kitty has been selected? The photo contest usually lasts about 4 weeks, and during the final week, we usually give a list of pre-selected entries, which means your cat has great chances of making the final cut! The finalists are announced on our Facebook Group page (also by email) when the book is out for sale, which is usually a week after the photo contest ends.

We try to keep our photo contest fun and engaging, so when a participant submits lots of great pics of their cat, every now and then, we surprise them with a special edition dedicated exclusively to their cat.

In 2023, Tinkerbell from the US was the recipient of this great honor, and her mom could not be happier to have an exclusive edition for her adorable fur baby! This year it could be your kitty’s turn, so hurry, sign up now to be part of this exclusive club of cat moms and dads!

Also, we were amazed at how many followers want to honor their late cat by entering their photo, so we often issue a “Rainbow Bridge” Special Edition. It does not happen every year, but if we don’t issue a full edition, we usually include at least one “In memory of” picture in each edition, or even a two-photo spread whenever feasible. This year we have included a two-page spread featuring late Gizmo from Switzerland.

Always looking for better ways to make cat people happy, we are working on a new project called “My kitty’s scrapbook.” It will be a new paid service that we’ll be offering later this year and will not require entering a contest.
