Girl Begs Professor To Let Her Bring Dog To Class To Save It From Hurricane, And His Response Wins Internet
Jessica Lewis recently decided to evacuate her college town of Statesboro, Georgia and head for home near Atlanta before Hurricane Irma arrived. There were only two problems. One was that she had a class to attend, and the other was that she had her dog Luna with her, and so she did the only thing a dog lover would do: she wrote to her professor and asked him if it would be OK to bring Luna to class with her.
“Dr Kennedy, my name is Jessica Lewis,” she wrote in a letter that’s since gone viral. “I realize the answer to this is probably no, but I thought that you might actually be a cool enough professor to say yes, and so I figured it was worth a shot. Can I bring my dog to class today?” How did the professor respond? Scroll down to find out. (h/t: dodo)
Jessica Lewis decided to muster all the courage and ask her college professor if she could bring her dog to class
She and her dog Luna were evacuating her college town but she really wanted to attend Dr Kennedy’s class
They were hoping to get to her family home near Atlanta before Hurricane Irma arrived so she really needed to take Luna with her
This is how the professor responded:
“He loved having her and had no complaints at all,” Jessica told the Dodo. “He was wonderful about it”
“She was pretty well-behaved in class”
Most of the time at least!
According to Jessica, Luna “Just walked around and got pets from everyone and made friends”
The pair were able to evacuate safely after class, all thanks to one awesome professor

yeah I know, I am glad the professor let Luna come to class and help out, but I cringed at that manipulative line and from his response I don't think he appreciated it either.

y'all dummies who write these headlines need to quit with the tired f*****g phrase 'wins the internet.' christ. let it the f**k alone already.
Nothing like a little "dog therapy". Luna is a beautiful dog and seemed well behaved considering the circumstances. Dogs can detect things before we can. I am glad both Luna and Jessica are safe. I have 3 therapy dogs that do volunteer charity work with the sick and that unconditional love will get you every time.
God bless Luna, her owner, and the teacher. I taught for 31 years and would have said, "Yes," in a heart-beat as well.
I loved this story so very much. This young lady has a great heart and love for her dog. So happy that there are still these wonderful people out there. And the teacher reacted in a beautiful way. seems to be an exceptional person.
What a wonderful guy! My favourite teacher in college was my Psychology professor. He was funny, caring and fair but also firm when he needed to be. He treated us like equals, which I loved. Steve Elsworthy woop!
So happy the Professor let the girl take her pup to the class, so she didn´t have to drive all the way back to the appartment to get her and they could evacuate directly after class!!! 💖💖💖 And the pup´s really been a good girl, at least most of the time... :)
I worked at an office where everyone was allowed to bring their dogs and it was a wonderful atmosphere. Wish more places would accept doggos
Cool! Everybody's faces on the internet because of such a unnecessary story! Instant stardom is guaranteed. Well done!
Now that is what I call an excellent Professor, students will always want to be in your classes !!! Thank you !!!
A teacher doing this sort of thing supporting students pulls that little bit of extra effort out of students rather than a teacher thats a complete a**e. With out the students even realising it. What a great guy
