There are many reasons why one might enjoy a good horror story. One, for example, is the adrenaline rush after being scared. The other is that some of us like to experience overwhelming, complex emotions. It also helps that the scary stories aren't happening to you, so you can still feel relatively safe while experiencing them.
And bigger doesn't always mean better, especially when it comes to scary stuff. Sometimes, it’s the small things or short scary stories that are the most terrifying, like an unexpected spider in the bathtub, a creaking floorboard in the dead of night, or a lizard on the wall staring right at you! I once heard some light knocking while I was drawing and listening to a CD. I looked around, saw nothing, didn't pay attention, dismissed it as some random sound. Then the album has finished and I wanted to change the CD... But atop the CD player there it was - a grasshopper as huge as a fist!

I have a couple of creepy two sentence stories: I saw a face smiling through the window. My room doesn't have windows. l heard a dripping sound coming from the bathroom. The tap was turned off. My daughter told me she had a nightmare about a man with no face. I was about to tell her everything was okay, but I didn't have a mouth to do so. My mother told me she loved seeing my kids. I don't have any kids. I heard a knock on the front door. But then I saw the woman knocking on the wall beside me.

I was just about to fall asleep when I heard foot steps coming towards my bed. I lived alone so when I realized what was happening I quickly pretend to be asleep. Inside my head I whispered a quick prayer. Then I opened my eyes just a crack that looked like nothing and I saw him a man writing something on my wall with big letters and then watched him slowly slip beneath my bed. I almost had a heart attack when I read the words, but it didn't matter a knife was already coming from under my bed cutting my flesh below my chin. It said "I know your awake." Usually that is the end of a horror stories but more is to come- She silently gasped in denial still pretending to be asleep so the man wouldn't notice and hopefully go away. But it actually made thing worst, when the man seemed to believe her, he crawled out from under the bed and, then pulled her head up so he could be 100% sure she was awake. she realized that if she kept pretending her dead husband would notice. He came for revenge.

All of the paint bottles were relabled to the different types and when they were canned. Their scent and the beautiful crimson all of them left behind on the canvas were what compelled me to keep painting, no matter how much I miss the neighbors.

Premature burial was a real concern when medical science couldn't always tell between death and a deep coma. The were all sorts of devices, bells that could be rung by a pully and so forth, to let someone alert someone that they were still alive. Of course, if no one was around to hear the bell....

I was just about to fall asleep when I heard foot steps coming towards my bed. I lived alone so when I realized what was happening I quickly pretend to be asleep. Inside my head I whispered a quick prayer. Then I opened my eyes just a crack that looked like nothing and I saw him a man writing something on my wall with big letters and then watched him slowly slip beneath my bed. I almost had a heart attack when I read the words, but it didn't matter a knife was already coming from under my bed cutting my flesh below my chin. It said "I know your awake." Usually that is the end of a horror stories but more is to come- She silently gasped in denial still pretending to be asleep so the man wouldn't notice and hopefully go away. But it actually made thing worst, when the man seemed to believe her, he crawled out from under the bed and, then pulled her head up so he could be 100% sure she was awake. she realized that if she kept pretending her dead husband would notice. He came for revenge.

All of the paint bottles were relabled to the different types and when they were canned. Their scent and the beautiful crimson all of them left behind on the canvas were what compelled me to keep painting, no matter how much I miss the neighbors.

Premature burial was a real concern when medical science couldn't always tell between death and a deep coma. The were all sorts of devices, bells that could be rung by a pully and so forth, to let someone alert someone that they were still alive. Of course, if no one was around to hear the bell....
