There are many reasons why one might enjoy a good horror story. One, for example, is the adrenaline rush after being scared. The other is that some of us like to experience overwhelming, complex emotions. It also helps that the scary stories aren't happening to you, so you can still feel relatively safe while experiencing them.

That's scary though. Imagine you wake up from a nightmare, you're trying to calm yourself down, maybe go get a glass of water or something. But as soon as you get to the kitchen you start having this weird deja vu feeling but you ignore it. It's not like you've never walked to the kitchen before right? You fill up a glass and take a seat on the couch. Everything seems normal, so why do you feel so uneasy? Well, might as well try and get back to sleep somehow, it's not the first nightmare and probably won't be the last one. Your room feels a bit ... different right now. That feeling of dread? Oh, it fills the air. This is stupid, you keep telling yourself, it's just a bad dream, close your eyes and sleep. It's so quiet now, just the sound of your breathing. And something else, something familiar. You've heard it before, but what is it? And then you remember.

Well since I would know what was coming up next with Madame ManiCure and I would have the luxury of several seconds up to nearly a minute before this bar skank banshee made it to attack range.I'd grab my pal Mr Pokey that l keep next to my night stand. Mr Pokey is a stout tree branch tapering at the handle with a strip suede wrapped handle. The business end is a dozen or so long,sharpened wood screws that make up the top like a medieval mace. I'd grab Mr Pokey and jump out of bed in one motion,making sure to hit he button on my bedside lamp base. And then it's clobberin' time. Best first target is always a head shot with zombie-esque fauna. A face shot is even better if you nail the she b***h at eye level and drag those out of her meat face with your first swing. My wife collects all manner of broad and long swords,not to mention a couple battle axes on our bedroom walls. Grab something bladed and sharp from the wall and trim those nails down to the wrists. Then go to town hacking.

You sound like very interesting lesbian. Mr Pokey sounds like a good roommate but I still prefer Ms Cuddler which is 70 cm long stick wrapped in black leather with about 30 cm of chain on end. It is meant to harm and bruise but not to kill or break bones (our police and courts are pricks about that).

I once heard some light knocking while I was drawing and listening to a CD. I looked around, saw nothing, didn't pay attention, dismissed it as some random sound. Then the album has finished and I wanted to change the CD... But atop the CD player there it was - a grasshopper as huge as a fist!

I have a couple of creepy two sentence stories: I saw a face smiling through the window. My room doesn't have windows. l heard a dripping sound coming from the bathroom. The tap was turned off. My daughter told me she had a nightmare about a man with no face. I was about to tell her everything was okay, but I didn't have a mouth to do so. My mother told me she loved seeing my kids. I don't have any kids. I heard a knock on the front door. But then I saw the woman knocking on the wall beside me.

I was just about to fall asleep when I heard foot steps coming towards my bed. I lived alone so when I realized what was happening I quickly pretend to be asleep. Inside my head I whispered a quick prayer. Then I opened my eyes just a crack that looked like nothing and I saw him a man writing something on my wall with big letters and then watched him slowly slip beneath my bed. I almost had a heart attack when I read the words, but it didn't matter a knife was already coming from under my bed cutting my flesh below my chin. It said "I know your awake." Usually that is the end of a horror stories but more is to come- She silently gasped in denial still pretending to be asleep so the man wouldn't notice and hopefully go away. But it actually made thing worst, when the man seemed to believe her, he crawled out from under the bed and, then pulled her head up so he could be 100% sure she was awake. she realized that if she kept pretending her dead husband would notice. He came for revenge.

Premature burial was a real concern when medical science couldn't always tell between death and a deep coma. The were all sorts of devices, bells that could be rung by a pully and so forth, to let someone alert someone that they were still alive. Of course, if no one was around to hear the bell....

I have a couple of creepy two sentence stories: I saw a face smiling through the window. My room doesn't have windows. l heard a dripping sound coming from the bathroom. The tap was turned off. My daughter told me she had a nightmare about a man with no face. I was about to tell her everything was okay, but I didn't have a mouth to do so. My mother told me she loved seeing my kids. I don't have any kids. I heard a knock on the front door. But then I saw the woman knocking on the wall beside me.

I was just about to fall asleep when I heard foot steps coming towards my bed. I lived alone so when I realized what was happening I quickly pretend to be asleep. Inside my head I whispered a quick prayer. Then I opened my eyes just a crack that looked like nothing and I saw him a man writing something on my wall with big letters and then watched him slowly slip beneath my bed. I almost had a heart attack when I read the words, but it didn't matter a knife was already coming from under my bed cutting my flesh below my chin. It said "I know your awake." Usually that is the end of a horror stories but more is to come- She silently gasped in denial still pretending to be asleep so the man wouldn't notice and hopefully go away. But it actually made thing worst, when the man seemed to believe her, he crawled out from under the bed and, then pulled her head up so he could be 100% sure she was awake. she realized that if she kept pretending her dead husband would notice. He came for revenge.

All of the paint bottles were relabled to the different types and when they were canned. Their scent and the beautiful crimson all of them left behind on the canvas were what compelled me to keep painting, no matter how much I miss the neighbors.

Premature burial was a real concern when medical science couldn't always tell between death and a deep coma. The were all sorts of devices, bells that could be rung by a pully and so forth, to let someone alert someone that they were still alive. Of course, if no one was around to hear the bell....
