This Good Girl Takes The Bus Everyday To The Dog Park All By Herself And Even Has Her Own Bus Pass Attached To Her Collar

Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the goodest of the girls? It’s Eclipse – the loveliest passenger to meet on your morning commute. If you’re from Seattle, that is. And taking a bus.

This adorable girl is making people happy everywhere she goes. It doesn’t come as a surprise when you look at her – I mean, just look at her! Not only does the extroverted and bubbly personality of Eclipse make her the most popular girl in town, but she is also known for being a responsible and independent adult. “Every day she leaves her house by herself and takes the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends a couple of hours getting exercise and making friends, and then she takes the bus back home again,” one Seattle woman writes on her Facebook.

Meet the goodest of all girls – Eclipse

She’s Seattle’s favorite bus-taking, people-loving, happiness-emanating dog. In her hometown, Eclipse is known for being a strong independent woman who needs no assistance from her owner when she feels like going to the park.

Every day, Eclipse leaves her house (all by herself) and takes the bus to the local park

Eclipse “takes the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends a couple of hours getting exercise and making friends, and then she takes the bus back home again. She even has her own bus pass attached to the collar,” a Seattle-based woman writes on her Facebook page.

“It started when her owner, Jeff Young, was taking too long when the bus arrived so she impatiently ran ahead and got on the bus by herself. The bus driver recognized her and dropped her off at the dog park, and later Jeff caught up with her. After several more trips by herself, Jeff started letting her go on her own, and she always comes back home a couple of hours later.”

Apparently, the bus drivers know Eclipse pretty well. “She makes them smile,” Robbie Lauren writes. “Many of the regular passengers enjoy seeing her every day and will often sit down next to her.”

“Even the police have given their approval as long as the bus drivers are okay with the arrangement.” Eclipse even has a Facebook page dedicated to her named Eclipse Seattle’s Bus Riding Dog. More than 44,000 people follow Eclipse’s adventures, so why don’t you?

Naturally, people online fell in love with Eclipse

I absolutely love this beautiful, smart girl who knows how to go to take the bus to the dog park all by herself. She must make so many great friends.

If the riders and the driver are ok with it, then I don't see a problem with it. Eclipse is well behaved, then most adults and kids riding the buses today

This is awesome! I would definitely be at the dog park with this little guy every chance I got, though. Enjoy this gift while you can! I must say, though, I would be so worried my pup would cross paths with a nasty human. Lots of awesome people in the world, but it would worry me about that one scum bag that would try to steal him or hurt him. Although, I bet this little guy has friends around every corner to watch out for him.

This is an amazing story but I too would be concerned about her disappearing through no fault of her own. Not to mention the traffic trouble that is Seattle's.

Who needs a human to take them out for a walk and play? She can take herself out. A very independent good girl

This is great in a lot of ways. However, who cleans up for her if she needs to go potty on the bus? More important, who picks up her doo doo at the dog park? The dog's caregiver (notice that I didn't say "owner" since I don't think any pets are owned) is irresponsible. Either he should take the time to accompany her himself, or he should find a daytime caregiver or even someone else to be a full time caregiver.

I agree, i hate to see dogs off their leash and walking unattended. You wouldn't let a small child do this, would you?

Wait, I am pretty sure that's illegal and irresponsible. What is I let my pit bull to ride the public transport by themselves and go alone in the park? Off course she is cute and good girl, but the owner is not! What if .. I don't know - everyone lets their dog go around the town? Rules are for everyone

That's not a pit bull. Black labs have a much better manner and are smarter than most breeds. Until the late 80s, many towns had freerange dogs. My grandma tells me her neighbor when she was young had a dog that was trained to go to the deli down the street. It had the shopping list and money tucked into its collar, and the butcher would give it a bag of meat to take home. Literally a Doggie Bag.

In that last pic, looks like pupper stopped off for a manicure on the way home. Fierce ice blue nails! She may have stopped off for a coffee, as well.

That breed of dog has a larger brain than many smaller dogs. It's intelligent and intuitive, and deserves to be treated well during her life. Her breed is an escort canine, and is often used as service animals. Bravo Eclipse. Good dog!

Neringa- I don't know if you write your own titles or if an editor does it. But "every" and "day" are two separate words, unless it's used as an adjective. Like an everyday pair of jeans. Or an everyday kind of breakfast. All the rest of the time, every and day are separate words. :)

How is this legal? Aren't there leash laws in Seattle? The dog may be very sweet -- and I've never met a dog I didn't like -- but what about people who are afraid of dogs? Something is very off here.
