Art is supposed to challenge us. Challenge our beliefs, our prejudices and even our concepts of what we believe to be possible.
Sculptures are a great medium for this, as they allow the artist to play tricks on the eye and mess with the viewer’s concepts of logic. This collection of sculptures, compiled by Bored Panda, do just that. Calling into question the laws of gravity and physics they make you wonder, how the heck did they do that? From incredible feats of balance on a grand scale, to just plain head-scratching sorcery, this list has it all!
Scroll down to below to check them out for yourself, and prepare to be bamboozled by these gorgeous and gravity defying pieces. Don’t forget to upvote your faves!

Load More Replies...It is interesting that somebody with the architectural knowledge to build a structure sturdy enough to support something like this would dedicate her life to something so ephemeral as temporary art displays. People are amazing and mysterious.
Couldn't agree more Devin Robinson lol! The horror! No way I'm showing my partner this one, I'd come home one day to find all my precious books flowing out their room 😱
That first picture is going to look like my house someday. I am SUCH a book hoarder!
They are probably the writings of conspiracy theorists, Anti-Vaxxers, and Right-Wingers...so these are a far better use of the dead trees....
Books in their own right ARE art. Turning them into an unreadable condition destroys that art. 😭

i was going to say this looks fake, but after doing a google search with artist name i was able to find a few other pictures from different angles.
I enjoyed this post tremendously. I would love to see more posts like these on BP! 'The Force of Nature' took my breath away.
You have the wrong name on Natalie Stamilla's sculpture of the rugby place Michael Jones at Eden Park in Auckland. Not Jerzy Kędziora
These kinds of posts, which seem to be further and few between, are my favourite. I wish there was more art and less celebrity clap-backs and overheard conversations.
Fabulous there are some very clever and talented people with fantastic imaginations..
Having seen the full range of fairys at Trentham estate I can thoroughly recommend going to see these.
Very creative...I enjoyed this so much, I would love to see much more
