Person Online Inquires “What Screams ‘I Am Entitled?’”, And 30 People Provide Their Answers
Many people like perks. No, not like that. Many people enjoy being entitled, or at least just feeling entitled. Even if they do not have any slightest reason to feel a bit better than others at something, they will just come up with a reason.
This happens especially often, for example, in the service sector, where people who for some reason feel "entitled" help themselves to much more than the boundaries of decency allow. Sometimes one look at a person is enough to understand that they are entitled as hell.
And sometimes it's not. So Reddit users shared their stories about how they had to interact with these categories of entitled people, and how to recognize them easily. The thread came out very popular with almost 2K upvotes and more than 2.3K various comments. Bored Panda has created an incredibly entitled curated list for you with a selection of the most interesting stories from this thread.
So feel free to scroll down, leave your comments - and just try to never be like the heroes of these "entitled-persons-and-where-to-find-them" stories.

People who are against abortion but then don’t give a s**t if the kid is taken care of.
This. so many unwanted children living a sad life just because the mother had to give birth to them. If only the pro-lifers were as good at adopting them as they are at calling women who had abortions murderers.. being unwanted may not impact your body but it kills your soul.
This!! Like if you were actually “pro-life” you’d be protesting the lack of accessible child-care, the continual defunding of children’s education, the system that leaves kids to float through an unstable foster care system their whole lives, helping support homeless children, worrying about their futures…..but nope, it’s all about the non-sentient fertilized clumps of cells in a woman’s womb for the first couple months of pregnancy, terminating that life is where the real injustice is.Makes a real difference in the world, good job guys /s 🙄 Nobody deserves to feel unwanted 🧡
Load More Replies...I've noticed that self-proclaimed pro-life people don't seem to care about the 5,000 children who die from gunshots each year. Gun related injuries are now the leading cause of death for children in the US.
Gun violence bc of domestic violence always the male partner or father is the leading cause of death for pregnant women in the US too but the same people that swear a women that has a life saving D & C is less important than their Ak47s. Not to mention no one forced anyone to give their organs to save a kids life but they want ti force a woman to give her mind and every single organ in her body to something she doesn't want. If it was really about kids they wouldn't be criminalizing or banning birth control. It's modern day slavery to force women to give their bodies away wo choice according to their made up beliefs that do not coincide w science or medical knowledge. Corpses have more autonomy you need consent to harvest their organs. Consent to sex is not consent to pregnancy. Womens life saving healthcare is needed physically and mentally.
Load More Replies...The ones who are against abortions should be forced to pay the medical bills for the child and mother that was forced to keep them
Yep but those same taxpayers that want to hold on to their machine guns won't pay the taxes to take care of living breathing children that are forced on women to birth. Even when men were drafted against their will they were given food shelter and medical care but women that are being forced to birth the next generation of slave labor for 7.25$ an hour aren't given any social safety net and they do not care if they die( the first two leading causes of death of pregnant women is gun violence and poor healthcare, the US has the highest rate of death during pregnancy than any other) at all but that's their plan. They want women to be desperate so they can charge them w felonies for getting abortions or birth control in another state and charge the doctors and family as co conspirators so they cannot vote. While still lining their pockets for doing what the corporations have paid them to do. There's no way scotus and the right wing party isn't being bribed by Walmart corporation.
Load More Replies...The so-called “pro-lifers” should be made to watch footage from Romanian orphanages during the time Ceausescu was in control. That’s what really happens when a country bans both birth control and abortion, but couldn’t give a fat rat’s a*s what happens to the babies once they’re born. (BTW, he—-and his wife—-didn’t end well. Just Google it.)
There are times in my life when I have cried watching tv and this was one of them. I saw those children in the most horrible conditions . I just started crying.
Load More Replies...They aren't pro-life. They're pro-birth. If they were pro-life they'd care enough about all of them to provide a safe life where they don't go hungry, live in decent housing and get a good education. A woman's medical decisions are hers and hers alone as discussed with her doctor. Anyone who disagrees with that premise, well, we get to know what your decision about a medical procedure is, and if we don't like it we'll get together and protest the he!! Out of it.
There's a LOT more hypocrisy than that. These stories were astonishing to me - and at the same time, not. https://joycearthur.com/abortion/the-only-moral-abortion-is-my-abortion/
A lot of women who are anti-choice have had abortions. They've even forced their daughters to have them if the lasses got "knocked up" out of wedlock.
Load More Replies...That and how the religious anti-vaxers appropriated the “my body, my choice” slogan from the pro-choice movement. You can’t have it both ways.
Now rapists will be emboldened too. They will get women pregnant and they will be forced to have their kid. They will have more of a right to womens bodies than a woman will. Rape is a way lesser crime than homicide. So now this tells women that are raped they are worth less than their rapists and their bodies can be used to make children that the rapist could get custody of to abuse also. This is all so f. U. Ked
Load More Replies...This! Pro life people are always very hypocritical. They don't want anyone to get an abortion but they sure as hell aren't going raise all of those unwanted kids or give a sh*t what happens to them. I cannot stand the ridiculous reasons people are pro life or the ridiculous things they say. I really have the "just use birth control" argument. Guess what no form of birth control other than just not having sex is 100% effective. You can do everything right and still get pregnant and its your choice whether you want to continue to be pregnant or not. It is so sad that it is 2022 and women's rights are being taken away instead of more being given to us. It is ridiculous that any of this is even a discussion at this point. Its ridiculous that women's rights need to be "given" to us. We live in such a messed up reality, it is genuinely depressing.
They're not interested in the lives. The birth rate in the US is way down and in order that they'll have enough future tax payers/revenue to live off of they don't care what they put other people through. Yes they essentially think of people in the same way as livestock. Except the farmer feeds his.
The farmer wouldn't want the cow to die during birth or to waste time carrying a non viable pregnancy. These people don't even think of women as livestock. They are just sadists.
Load More Replies...They don't destroy lives, they save lives. So many Care Bears out there acting like the act of existence is such a blessing. Yeah sure it's nice for alot of us, but you're deluded if you think everybody who ever breathed gets to enjoy a wonderful life.
America better have a lot of nuns to look after all the unwanted children. Then they can abuse those children just like the ones in Ireland did. What happens to the women & girls who have had to go through the ordeal of being raped, find out this has led to a pregnancy and have to give birth to something that reminds them of trauma? Are they treated with compassion if they harm or kill the child?
Barney Frank's famous quote: "They believe life begins at conception and ends at birth."
Prolife should mean the lives here and now. It should mean basic universal income so people want to have and can care for children. Subsidized child care and free healthcare. An environment that won't poison your child. These are prolife
Oh, but didn't you know? In America, the Republican party, the ""pro-lifers"", consider all women of baby-producing age LIVESTOCK whose bodies they believe they control, especially their uterus. Rape? BAYBEEE!! Incest? BAYBEEE!! 13-years-old? BAYBEEE!! Could save the woman's life? BAYBEEE!! Already died in the uterus? BAYBEEE!!! Yup, that's the American ""pro-life"" Republican party for ya.
Instead of worrying about birthing so-called pro-lifers should be busy organising and funding programs to ensure all children are fed, educated, grow up in a safe environment, and have the best possible start in life regardless of faith or skin colour. If they don’t, they have no right to call themselves “pro-life”.
And most are against the two things that do work in lowering the abortion tates. Sex education and easy acces to contraception
The irony here is, that's supposed to be the land of the free according to these pinheads. How about you stick your noses where they belong, like up some sanctimonious hairy unwashed ar$e for example.
This sickens me, but a 3 year old baby was just found starved to death. Where, Polk County Florida. The baby weighed 9 pounds, and the creature that gave birth is now pregnant again. CPS had been informed in 2019 that the child was not thriving. Anger is not a strong enough word for how I feel.
They want to up the infant supply or whatever that horrible dystopian quote was yet they vote against baby formula for poor mothers. They are NOT pro-life they are pro FORCED BIRTH!
There are way more politics about those discussion than empathy and compassion. And, of course, politics has nothing to do with empathy or compassion...just opportunism.
Some people just want kids to for government housing and money, or like to have trophies or someone to live through.
Those who have no problem strangling, stabbing, beheading, dismembering and scalding to death helpless infants would accuse us of not caring about older children. So unfair also untrue! Our agency bought food, clothes, baby furniture, bus passes, helped with rent and other expenses, held support groups for new mothers, helped with medical/dental/legal problems, etc. We took young women and their children in our homes, helped them apply for job training and/or college and had birthday parties, baby showers, Christmas parties for them and MUCH etc. What have you done to support them?
No, babies do NOT always get adopted. There are thousands of kids who grow up in the foster care system, some never get adopted, and then at 18 they're tossed out into the world, to sink or swim. We looked into adoption at one point, and we were told it could take years, not to mention tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees. Although, I wouldn't expect you to understand this as you recently, on BP, insulted an entire group of women who were candidly discussing the tolls of pregnancy, a bunch of "ungrateful whiners".
Load More Replies...I'm not sure why that's bizarre? I think some Catholics are against birth control (or the church was? I'm not sure about now) but Christians don't usually have a problem with preventing pregnancy. The problem is, if one believes a fetus is alive, creating a life and then destroying it. If someone doesn't want a baby, preventing pregnancy in the first place is the best option. If you're referring to people who are using them so they can sleep around or something, then yes that's hypocritical if they say they're Christian but excuse that. But married couples might want birth control for various reasons too.
Load More Replies...Birth control is not free. Millions do not have access to planned parenthood or health insurance in the US and states are criminalizing and banning birth control now. Even when they have 3 jobs they can't afford healthcare. Consent to sex is not consent to forced pregnancy. Women that want children need abortions too. Ectopic pregnancy non viable fetuses decaying flesh in their uterus a fetus could literally kill them that's why Ireland finally reversed their stance bc women were dying from sepsis. Women need D & Cs bc they are life saving womens healthcare both mentally and physically
Load More Replies...Also who the hell wants to be forced to give their organs to something they do not want. No one is forced to give dying kids kidneys. You're saying who cares if women and little girls no longer have bodily autonomy who cares if women are used as modern day slaves to force birth a child bc a politician said so not a doctor but a politician. Pregnancy is so F*****g hard on bodies it destroys some women even when the kid is wanted it destroys mental health and physical when not wanted. Consenting to sex is not consent to pregnancy! You are taking away a fundamental right of a human being and enslaving them for a fetus!! Not a child. You have absolutely no critical thinking and your view of things is terrifying complacent uneducated and ignorant. Your world view is extremely narrow that you cannot empathize to the point of apathy which is why your right to privacy will be taken from you as well as other rights they want to take
Load More Replies...Maybe you should research why those abortions are necessary. They're never done "just because" and are exceedingly rare. Also, if you go septic or get eclampsia or HELLP by all means don't get an abortion to save your life. Oh wait, none of that will ever happen to you, will it? So maybe just shut up.
Load More Replies...Treating service workers like c**p.
Acting as if your religious rules and customs should apply to anybody else.
People use the phrase "It's just a child!" to excuse their child's s***ty behavior. When the zoo says "Don't tap the glass, it stresses the animal" that means your f**kball child needs to knock it off.
Parents need to pay more attention to stop that behavior so they don't have to make excuses for it
Military wives that expect to be saluted or have the same treatment as their husbands. Or brag about their rank.
People who purposely cause messes at restaurants, movie theatres, etc. because "someone else will clean it up" or its "their jobs to clean it up". Spills happen, but people who start food fights or just throw their beverages/food are terrible
People who cut in line
Ugh yesssss especially when they ignore you when you stand up for them
when they do something to you and think it’s fine but when you do it in return and they freak out
Those shiny, niche cars taking up two parking spaces.
Those shoppers who trash boutique dressing rooms.
Those shoppers who take items (especially frozen ones) and ditch them in canned goods.
Screaming at children working at retail/fast food/starter positions at jobs.
People who don't pick up after their dogs and throw cigarette butts on the ground
I give mine to the crows to smoke, while they play cards on the rooftops.
Generally just leaving something for someone else to deal with
Incessant whining over shared inconveniences. For example, person goes to the DMV to find a 90 minute wait. Everyone else that arrived around the same time as them is also having to wait 90 minutes. But this person just. Won’t. Shut. Up about it. Like dude, we get it. It sucks. Literally no one is enjoying this experience. You’re not entitled to any faster service than anyone else, and bitching about it isn’t going to change that.
People who don't return their shopping cart.
This is how I judge people. Are you willing to take 30 seconds to do a small act that will make other people’s lives easier? No? Not your problem? Ok cool, noted. Definitely noted.
People that talk over you after you waited your turn/the mood called for someone to add to the convo.
Always these days. I haven’t said anything with them because of how much I get interrupted every 3 seconds.
When you say no to someone and then they act like a child
“Ummm yo I have the right to rip your hijab but you don’t have the right to scream back”.
real story
The world will be a better place when different people of different religions don’t harass each other because of their beliefs
I'm a gas station worker and when people don't say please or thank you, when they're on the phone(mostly when they're VERY loud). When they walk in, dont even look at you, practically throw the money at you and say "20 on pump 5" and walk out.
OH! And when there's only one person there, we have to close our store for lunch. We have a very polite worded sign on the door. I'll be walking with my food to the back and they try and bang on the door, put their arms up like "what the f**k?? You're not going to serve me??"
And there's literally another gas station kitty corner to us.
Edit to clarify: where I'm from(Sacramento, California) you pay at the pump with card and pump gas yourself. I'm not stopping most people from getting gas by taking my lunch(ONLY thing that stops people from getting gas is if they're paying with cash, but most people don't. There's no discount at my store by paying with cash rather than card)
The only thing they can't get is cigarettes, beer and snacks. But as I stated, there is another gas station right across the street.
I am also entitled to a lunch, just as every other worker in America.
All their problems are always someone else’s fault, never their own.
Sign of an abuser. “She did it! She drove me to hit her!” No a*****e, she didn’t. You chose to hit her, instead of walking away and cooling down.
I work as a ticket seller for a ski resort.
My favorite entitled person is the guy who, upon finding out that the kids lesson was sold out, offered to pay extra if I would kick someone elses kid out so his kid could have a spot.
Using or taking other people's stuff without asking for their permission.
When I was a cop in the 90s I heard, "my taxes pay your salary" to which I would reply, "my taxes do as well"
Impatience in situations where it should be just universally understood that you need patience.
People who don’t clean up after themselves
I had old school parents. While some of their methods aren’t accepted anymore (spanking), a lot of the lessons they taught me should continue to be taught. Things like “leave it the way you found it”, “put it back where you found it”, “if you borrow something, give it back promptly and in the same condition it was given to you”, “always clean up after yourself”, “if it’s not yours, always ask permission before touching it”, “always say please and thank you, as well as ma’am and sir”, “don’t run and yell in public”, “stay in your seat when we’re out in a theatre or restaurant”, etc. Now, when I was little—-I’m 61 now, so I’m talking about the 1960s—-there were kids who would run and scream in a restaurant, and kids who would totally destroy the toy section in a store, so those aren’t new problems. But teaching your children about common courtesy, manners, and how to act around other people is as old as time—-and valuable. Antisocial kids become antisocial adults.
I went to private school for all of high school. It was even further divided by wealth because it was an American school in a foreign country, so most of the kids from there were very wealthy, did coke on Tuesday nights, and would buy their way into Harvard. The rest of the kids were pretty much all from military families who had the price of education covered. I used to take the city bus home from school (it was out in the suburbs). One day this mom in her shiny convertible car and 200 dollar jeans parks her car where it is completely blocking the road and goes to pick up her kid. When the bus drives up, it can’t get by. Bus driver honks for a couple minutes, but the mom is no where in sight. When she finally comes out, she’s not even bothered by the fact that she’s been blocking traffic for 10 minutes. She just takes her sweet time getting in her car with her kid and finally drives off.
Still makes me mad to this day.
Adults who throw tantrums (slam doors, scream/yell, pout, throw/break things, etc.)
When someone has to suffer a mild inconvenience and they throw a totally disproportionate tantrum about it.
“Oh you can’t afford that, but it’s only like *high price*?”
This!! They way people assume what one can or can't afford based on their looks, clothes, race, or ethnicity! Drives me insane!
People that think they’re the prize when dating but never consider what the other person wants from a relationship.
I don’t care how many followers you have. How does that make you worth dating?
People who make huge assumptions about the intent of others. They always think other people are thinking about them way more than they actually do.
And they never realize what they’re saying that someone else is thinking or doing is really just themselves projecting their own issues onto others.
“Wdym you’ve never been on vacation” …
"The customer is always right"
When Mitt Romney was debating Obama, he said: "If a kid needs money to start a business they can always borrow it from their parents
Hitting the back of someone’s car and then blaming it on them
"This establishment just lost a faithful customer today"
People who always complain and have a problem with the littlest thing.
I do not think that you understand the pain and suffering I suffered when you refused my coupon. I was left shaken and upset. My family rushed to console me when I got home. I do not think you understand what refusing that 35p off a can of beans can do to a person. I will be seeing your manager about this.
“I’ll call my dad and tell him what you did!”
Context needed. Cheating at crazy-eights or white van offering a ride?
Doctors who act like the pain is all in your head. Or you have a reaction to their treatment that they've "never heard of before". Or behave as if getting sick is somehow your fault.
Ok I would just like to add to this list: phone etiquette. If someone’s showing you something, don’t take their phone unless they say you can hold it. Also, my mom taught me it’s rude to look at someone’s phone if they don’t invite me to, so obvs it would be that way for my little bro right? Nope! If I’m doing something like texting or anything if he wants to look and I say no he gets mad at me and my parents tell him he’s fine to watch, but I can’t look at their phone, no sir! Uhgggg
for me it's people that donate to something, then expect special treatment for it. You DONATED. If you want special services, you PAY for them.
You don't have kids, you don't understand how hard it is! Oh but I do, hence I don't have kids. Seems to me, you're the one going in blind.
