Tell me about it! I am a very logical thinker and if anyone asks for my advice or opinion I give it unfiltered which can upset them if it isn't what they want to hear

Very much so. Also, is there another word to describe this, because I absolutely hate that word, makes it sound like we're spoiled brats throwing a tanty and not something debilitating and uncontrollable.

It seems unfair that some people don't have an inner monologue at all, when I've got three orchestras, two storytellers, and at least one running commentary that can be louder than external sounds, all running on loops in my head.

There is a reason that my Chinese history marks were the highest in the class. Emperor Wanli of Ming, along with 1644-1799 Qing history is a specialist subject, and I do mean in a lot of detail surrounding specific aspects of the latter (the Battle of Shanhai Pass, the Regency of Emperor Kangxi, the Macartney Embassy).

Adding a reassurance helps...sometimes. With my partner, they understand that I am confused with the added reassurance. Doesn't always work though.

A lot of peer pressure is subtle manipulation, which we absolutely are quite susceptible to and I have seen happen a lot. There are a lot of horrible people who actively try to weaponise autistic people for their causes (eg. trans-exclusionists have actively targeted autistic people to weaponise).

When I hear that... I have a great response. my allistic husband and I have exactly the same views and habits, but our reasons are totally different. Knowing those differences is why we can put up with each other on the things that make no sense to the other.

For the note: disassociation is not a wandering mind, it's a full mental disconnect, it's an actual medical thing with a proper medical definition. Someone trying to talk to you will notice and probably freak out.

I don't understand body language at all, so we absolutely do not always get social cues. Of the ones that I have learned, mostly expression and some tones of voice, key word learned, I can't tell the difference between authentic and inauthentic. I also can't add many of those expressions to my face or inflections to my voice, so I do sometimes have a bit of RBF with zero eye contact and monotone delivery (I can do a brilliant villain face). The exception is strong emotion, which does express and inflect correctly.

Most people diagnosed as autistic - aren't. "It's exhausting, burns me out and when it slips I turn into a bumbling mess" is actually neurotypical. Almost everybody is like that.

If you change the words "an autistic" to "a" then it's still correct.

Headphones are a gift.

With themselves as the main character? No. With specific characters that are not me, yes. It's a type of daydreaming, it centres your thoughts and enables sleep without the mind scattering. It how I have created the concept for several stories.

It tastes foul and makes me babble on without control. No socialisation, just not going near the place ever again.
