The world without the Internet is already an alien concept. The Internet is an integral part of our daily routines and objects around us, so much in fact, that certain things would not even exist without it.
But that certainly doesn't mean we can't try imagining how certain apps would look in different times, right? Thomas Olliver, a creative art director, has envisioned the technologies of today as objects from the 1980s.
Did you know that Instagram would do wonders as a disposable camera? And what about a walkie-talkie WhatsApp? Surely, if you found yourself teleported back in time, you wouldn't leave your house without a Spotify Walkman. Would you?
The good news is, you don't need to go back in time. You just need to scroll down the page, and find out what Facebook, Netflix, and Google would be like in the 1980s!

There were pagers in the 80's...mostly still in medical settings...

Snapchat should’ve been a handwritten note, folded for passing in class.
Instagram shouldve been a poloroid!! Come on even the square photos thar come out it is literally the same!!
Me too, except my mom. We had VHS for most of my childhood and I had a cassette player in my room.
Load More Replies...My first ever remote control was connected to the video player by a wire
Load More Replies...It isnt s**t - it was cutting edge. Dear Smoofy you have never marvelled at the thought you can record a TV programme
Load More Replies...I think that the broadcast teletext would be a better for Wikipedia. It has been available from 1970's and the teletext service is still available in some European countries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teletext
I meant better alternative for Google. From Teletext it was possible to search plenty of information about various topics and find the latest news, spots results, TV guide, etc.
Load More Replies...a Polaroid Land Camera was the height of sophistication. You didnt need to take photos you couldnt see, send them off to Trueprint, pay money and 2 weeks later get back 36 out of focus shots of half of someone's head or unidentifiable other scenes. 80% went straight in the bin.
It was not...I am pretty sure quite a bit of hard work went into this. I definitely couldn’t do this good, maybe you can. Even if you can I would respect the work gone into these things.
