Ever wanted to take a look inside your favorite Pokémon characters? Well, now you can, as artist, Christopher Stoll has unveiled the anatomies of Pokémon characters in his new series of illustrations – ‘PokeNatomy’.

The series features posters of characters such as Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, and Jigglypuff, that show what they look like both from the inside and outside.  They also include detailed descriptions of the characters and the purposes of their organs and specially constructed nerve systems.

“Drawing them is not the difficult part, the challenge for me is conceptual,” Stoll told Bored Panda. “I spend a lot of my time with the project trying to create fictional anatomy that is both interesting and plausible. A lot of Pokénatomy is based on the behavior and biology of real-world organisms. So for the sake of the project, I’ve found myself thumbing through books on botany, herpetology, metaphysics, and even embryology.”

Stoll eventually hopes to illustrate all 151 original Pokémon characters. Take a look at some of his illustrations below.
