Artist Shows The Behind The Scenes Of Pitch-Perfect Instagram Photos And His 500k Followers Love It (11 Pics)
It is always interesting to see the behind the scenes, especially when it comes to professional photography. Not only do we see the reality behind the pitch-perfect photos, but also realize the hard physical work that photographers have to go through and their super-creative approaches to ensure that they capture the very best depiction of their photoshoot. If that wasn't enough, there also comes the photo editing part!
Kai Böttcher is a talented 25-year-old self-taught photographer and retoucher who decided to share the behind the scenes of his stunning photoshoots. When he was only 14 years old, digital art became his passion and he started editing pictures and creating brand logos. As he got older, he became more interested in surrealism and photo manipulation so he decided to apply at The University of Kaiserslautern, which is specialized in Digital Art and Virtual Design. There he started focusing more on portraits as he realized that he loves getting feedback from his models as he perfectly captures their emotions. His marvelous portraits are filled with great colors, incredible bokeh, and mesmerizing tones and lights!

I really like this model’s freckles! Usually women cover their freckles up with tons of foundation. This makes me want freckles.
People have been very freckles positive for a bit. So much so that there are actually makeup pensto create or enhance freckles, they're like eyeliner or brow pens only not as dark. It's definitely nice for people with freckles, but it's still kind of weird to me that someone would buy a pen to draw on freckles.

It's powered through a low voltage adapter - so pretty safe :)
Load More Replies...That blue light (original color pink or red) on her right seemed unnecessary
Looks like Russian Sage to me. I had it at a previous house.
Load More Replies...As if to say... "I reach for you from the wilderness. Dior" haha, this one is good.
There's nothing wrong with doing this with garden plants as long as you're not damaging someone else's property without permission. It's not like they're endangered or anything.
Load More Replies...That lamp creates such cool effects! These types of photos are definitely his speciality!
You sound either jealous, or like a typical 'nice guy' so good job either way!
Load More Replies...she's got a tooth in the midline of her face; just like Brad Pitt. #cantunsee
If as just a photograph I agree with the Meh. But as from the artistic viewpoint, it's actually pretty cool.
Load More Replies..."oh, let's go over there by the gutter and you can lay down on the ground" ew, gross!
I do believe that is the opening to a basement window, not a gutter. Although I can see where you may have thought that. LOL
Load More Replies...This is hardly cheating. Choosing a flattering light or a cool background / light source when taking a picture is not the same as cutting-and-pasting in photoshop.
By no means is this cheating. Even the "before/set up" shot is a fantastic shot. Even with the clutter and mess, its a very well composed shot that shows interest and intrigue. There could be more done to make it phenomenal, but the shot itself is pretty damn cool. Of course the second shot is beautiful, and the artistry should not be ignored, but the background, lighting, and even the choice of "grain" makes the second one the money shot. I like both shots here.
When choosing foreground objects that cast light or shadow, be cognizant of shadow placement. This image would have been perfect if the door handle from the screen door had not cast its shadow over her chest. Buying props and setting them up is just as important as setting the shot. Great subject however, and great idea.
Idk, I like the shadow. The tilt of her head and size of face mimics the shadow and imho doesn't detract at all.
Load More Replies...Bit of a tough shot to sell. Not a bad idea, but often it just feels too cluttered.
yeah, would have just used the reflection as a background on the side, not to cover up her face
Load More Replies...Use PS to make the pictures perfect. Still good job, I like the pictures.
Load More Replies...Let's admit it we've seen way way too many of these 'behind the scenes' things
and it's not like people cant imagine how these photos have been taken
Load More Replies...I'm curious about the phrase "incredible bokeh" in the opening paragraph - is it a typo, or is "bokeh" a thing?
Bokeh is an effect in photography in which little dots of light are cast in a photo. Here's an example:https://phlearn.com/...ide-no-text.jpg #1 is a great example of this effect
Load More Replies...Of course you have to have props and staging. What do people think is actually going on behind the camera?
This type of thing has been shown a million times already. Do something new and original
