Ah yes, the 'us' and 'them' mentality. Also the result of brainwashing. If someone cuts in line, say something. You don't immediately have to resort to violence like a little coward who can't communicate his feelings like a normal adult. (edited the bad word to coward)

From what I've seen, the US military don't treat their soldiers like gods while serving, and I *know* vets weren't treated like gods after retirement at least into the 1970s... so where does this entitlement and superiority come from? Anyone know?

The only service members who act like that were never service members, got kicked out of the service or served just long enough to get a honorable discharge and thinks they're entitled to the worship of everyone. I have family who served in Vietnam, my dad was an Army MP, his dad was Navy WWII just like my father in law. I have family from the Gulf War and currently serving stateside-fortunately. None of them brag about their service and some forget discounts they can get, like hotels! I worked with a couple younger guys who just got out of the military and were the biggest a-holes. I don't know their discharge status but they were very aggressive and didn't last long. I wish I had joined but what parents who had brothers in Vietnam would want their only daughter to join the military during George HW?😳

THANK YOU! My parents, once out of the military... became CIVILIANS WHO HAD SERVED. Get over your entitlement, US military vets. You aren't all that.. I know. I'm your family.

So this whole military and vet thing...it is/was a choice. It is right to appreciate you, but you're not entitled to anything because of your personal choice. BTW, I'm reading more about how vets abhor the whole "thank you for your service " so wtf? I'm an RN and started hearing that during the pandemic/now. It's not a selfless act. I get paid well, there are benefits. I'm not entitled to anything. Thanks are always great but, I made my point.

Not sure being a veteran really does much here. I'm not but I would still be pretty pissed if someone cut me in line like that. However, I would not assume it's because they are a civilian, I'd just assume they are an ass

So many things intentionally created to divide us. Or make us think we are somehow better than or more valuable than the next human being. People actually buy into it to. Thinking because your a CEO or military, cop, governor, or doctor. That you are somehow more valuable as a person. Or more deserving of something. It's called humanity and everyone from the homeless person right up to the CEO deserves respect, decency, dignity, love, kindness, healthcare, education, and to be treated well. . This whole world is so awful and I'm tired of people who can't see how heartless and awful they are.

When a 'veteran' talks down about 'civilians' (which most of them tend to) it's with all the condescension of a superior being to a molerat. Maybe what this supposed "Marine" needs is PTSD meds to stop his explosive level of intolerance.

I think the incredibly complicated way to handle this is to say, "Excuse me, I was next in line." Or you could go on a violent rant...

They are either not a vet (stolen valor prick), or they were dishonorably discharged and still butthurt about it. I know plenty of vets, and not a single one would ever act this way. It is disgraceful.

I was also led to believe even the highest ranking military person is still lower in rank to any civilian. Saying that guy who pushed in font was a d**k.

As a retired military veteran, I would prefer you not identify yourself as a vet. There are too many good ones.

I'm not impressed by the masculine toxicity and the inability to simply be assertive. I always cut veterans slack, but you're in the wrong here.

I would think that if you look as tough as you sound, no one would cut in front of you. Maybe you just don't look that tough. Which is why you overcompensate with verbiage.

In my opinion it has nothing to do with your military status....has to do with bad manners on the part of the person that stepped ahead in line.

I can tell this is fake just based on the premise of Walmart employees helping a customer in the electronics section.

Line cutters always in the army chow line. When I was promoted to buck sergeant I told these "men" they could cut in line anywhere as long as it was behind me.

No. We are not civilians. We are military veterans. Most of us can be assertive and not agressive, but some of us had experiences that lead us to go from 0 to Mach 1 in a nano second. This is why it's so important that help is readily available.
