To indulge in this emotional rollercoaster of celebrities constantly messing up big time, twitter user @Hunty_dumpty_ came up with a thread idea. They asked people, "What's your favorite forgotten celebrity controversy?" and the thread was quickly filled with some of the juiciest controversies that glued many of us to the screen at the time they went public. Was it scandalous? I thought it was more like "hilarious incompetence".
What bothers me with this one is that no one ever mentiones that "married man", like it was all her fault. She was very young, almost a child, and thou in relationship, she wasn't married (no one ever believed that her relationship was real anyway), but no one ever blames married man who was clearly adult, and I feel iike woman has to take all the blame in these cases no matter what.
I think that was forgotten because so few people care about that kind of personal relationship drama.

so this one is really weird and ridiculous... She accused him a bunch of shits and he just said never met her ever. He was looking for a reason to kill a rapist who happened to be black. Youre not aloud to feel bad for rapists.
Well, he was literally giving that as an example of how biased he used to be in his youth and that it was something he had to unlearn, but go off I guess.....This is not excusing him doing it in the first place, it's just a demonstration that people can and should be allowed to better themselves.

He was actually giving an honest and remorseful response about a low point in his life...and he got raked over the coals for it. That's the takeaway--make stuff up for a good sound bite (pat on the back) BUT allow for a moment of vulnerability AND admit you were wrong in a moment of truth?! Everyone clutches their pearls and looses their ish. Mobs suck. Even my POV isn't helping one bit. I feel like no matter what, it's always the "Kill the Beast" scene from Beauty & the Beast.
Ironic how many white Americans are chiming in to feel offended. White Americans are the most racist people I've ever encountered. Your race issues are spreading to places that didn't have this problem, thanks to media which is just dumping your white guilt at our door step. The kind of racism that happens in the US doesn't really happen in Europe. I'm not saying there aren't racists, but mostly everyone is accepted and no one tries to prove how not racist they are unlike white Americans who are often talking about how they can't be racist because they know a black person it's so cringe!

That was f*****g weird and I totally agree that I'm shocked that I haven't heard more about it. Even if he didn't mean to be racist, he was clearly drawing from that horrible bias/myth of the "black man hurts defenseless white woman" that got a lot of totally innocent black men murdered in the past. It's very disturbing if that's really ingrained in his mind.
he actually mentioned it as an example of how he was biased, and wrong, and how easily anger can make us blind. It sucks that this even came to his mind at some point, but it's actually good he had courage to publicly admit this was stupid and wrong.

How weird that celebrities are fallible as us. It's almost like they are humans. I red an article once that explained that celebrities are celebrated as semi god because humanity is used to have them for millenia. Think as Britney Spears (im not up-to-date) as aphrodite. Peoples looae their s**t when she shaved her hair. She had to do public excuses for that. Every time I come here i feel that this theory is quite on the nose. Peoples need to worship champions and they dont like being disappointed by them.
It's human nature I guess. To look for alphas, role models, whether we do it consciously or subconsciously. But something twisted over the last century for celebrities. We used to worship them from afar, and now they have to live in compounds for their own safety, get papped, and can't even get married without helicopters and zoom lenses.

The main difference (aside from the riches) between celebrities and non-celebrities is their overexposure. We can all be susceptible to their behavior but almost everything they do becomes public knowledge. If you worship any human or expect them to be perfect, you're in for a disappointment.
