Humans have come a long way trying to explain things that seem mysterious to them. Once we believed that solar eclipses are gods’ way to show humans their anger, but now we know that it’s just the Moon covering the Sun. But there are still so many things for us to discover and find out—because there are so many things people see and can’t explain. They even may tell others what they witnessed and nobody believes them because it seems so unlikely, or they will believe them but fail to find a logical explanation.
These kinds of stories sometimes get really creepy and scary, but nonetheless they are so interesting because those experiences are quite rare. Reddit user Tiny_Map5886 was also interested in this topic and asked people, “What's something you can swear you saw but no one is believing you?” Some stories are quite entertaining and have a satisfying end as it turns out, they did see what they saw, but others are just plain scary.
If you have ever seen something that nobody believes you did, share it in the comments and upvote the stories that you would believe!

I live in Kenosha Wisconsin(in between Milwaukee and Chicago) and have seen a mountain lion twice in the area. Everyone just stares at me when I tell them lol
Also I’ve seen a BMW with the turn signal on but only once.
Kept telling my mom and sister I was seeing UFOs. Kept happening really regularly and frequently. Eventually I got them all to come outside because it was about time for one to show up. And it did.
It was a stealth bomber being test flown, long before the public announcement about them went out or any pics were leaked.
Blew all of our minds.
as long as you could not identify it, it was technically an "unidentified flying object"
I’m (31F) from Northern Ireland and this happened about 10 years ago. As I walked my dog, I suddenly felt like I was being watched. I looked around and quickly noticed a grey wolf slowly walking through the field I was beside, staring right at me with a mangled rabbit in its mouth. We were both walking in the same general direction. It looked huge, around 5 feet or so. It stared in such a predatory way I was terrified that it was going to come for us. It was about 15 meters away with a pretty pathetic fence between us, and we both just stood there frozen for about 10 seconds staring at each other. Eventually I picked up my (small) dog and backed away while watching it, I didn’t know what the hell to do. When it was nearly out of sight and still hadn’t moved, I turned and ran. I told my dad who didn’t seem to believe me but said I should call animal welfare, and they didn’t take it seriously at all, I never heard back from them. We don’t have wolves here so I have no idea what the heck happened. I Google it every few years and did read something about people managing to get wolves as pets and then releasing them when they got too big to keep or something, so I wonder if that’s what happened. But I always see a look of worried disbelief when I tell someone!
Edit: This was in the middle of the day so I could see it very clearly. Definitely didn’t look anything like an Irish Wolfhound, and we own large dog breeds (as well as the small I was walking), and it didn’t seem anything like a large dog. The closest breed I saw mentioned was the Northern Inuit, but more grey.
But it was much bigger with a wild, predator-like temperament. Honestly if I hadn’t seen it walking while staring, I might have wondered if I was just seeing things.
I saw a few comments mentioning a wolf sanctuary in Ireland and when I looked that up, this is the closest to what I saw! The town I was in is pretty small and not anywhere near any of the sanctuaries/zoos. I was also in a residential area—a row of houses on one side of me, the field on the other, so it still feels really random.
Edit 2: Someone has let me know that a grey wolf escaped approximately around the same time that this happened, from Tyrone which is only about 40-45 miles away from where I was! So it is seeming likely that someone was trying to keep it in captivity and it escaped. I’m not crazy, hurray!
Bravo! Finding out you’re not crazy is always such a relief. I say this 100% sincerely.
I have clear and distinct memories from when I was still in diapers and a crib. No one in my family believed me until I described the EXACT layout of my room at the time, bed and dressers included. We don’t have any photos of this room, so this isn’t a false memory situation like my brother said. I even described a time my mom gave me cough medicine in a Mickey mouse spoon from before I could even talk.
It’s weird because my short term memory is trash, but my long term memory is absolutely unreal.
Most people don’t remember things from their infancy because they don’t have the words they need to cement it in their memory, but you clearly work more visually than most of us. Are you an artist, perchance?
Here’s hoping this all fits.
Used to work health care. Specifically, dementia palliative care. Palliative meant that people had a certain amount of time to live, and usually declined pretty quickly. To put it nicely: dementia residents came to me to be cared for while they died.
I worked night shift, 11pm-7am. I’ve seen and heard dead residents at night, watched living residents talk to an empty room, and then mention they were talking to someone who died long before they ever came into my care, someone they had never met.
My coworkers believe me, but no one else ever has.
When my grandmother was palliative she would reach out to an empty chair like she wanted to take the 'persons' hand? It was only on the last day she was alive, we figured either my grandfather or her sister had come to help her pass away
It's comforting to think that it's possible and I really wish it is.
Load More Replies...In health care, you get very used to it. Not just dementia patients. End-of-life is a very strange thing indeed.
I do! It's quite common for folks on there way out to see and communicate with other loved ones who have passed.
My father clearly talked to his mother shortly before he died. The palliative care Dr said in the final hours, people cross back and forth between living and dead. He was on a morphine drip d/t cancer. He was unconscious at one point and I talked to him about our distant relationship and how grateful I was that he said I love you a lot (never before cancer.) I put my head on his chest, not thinking he heard me. Tears fell from his eyes.
Load More Replies...Oh yes…this is a real thing. We saw my mother go through this and she would have full blown conversations with family members that had passed on before her.
My mum did the same before she died. I'd go into her room (in my house) and she'd be staring at the wall next to her and would say my dad was there. She'd say something along the lines of "Jim is watching us" or something equally strange. I know this happens to dying people, but to actually witness it is surreal.
My mom,80+, and I 50, saw my grandfather walking away from us once. About 2 weeks before she died she told he was there with her. I told her I was glad he”d come for her. Several years later, when my dad died, a whiff of mom’s perfume hung in the air near him. Pretty normal stuff in my family, but it was amazing to experience.
I worked as a hospice volunteer for some years. Anybody who works with the dying will tell you that their connection to the world shifts, and people start to live on a different plane of existence. The veil between life and what comes next becomes very thin. And yes, people see these things.
There have been scientific studies about this being very real, but the medical feild is in denial about it. If anyone is interested, I can link an interview with the doctor that does the studies. Typically, the patient starts seeing and interacting with passed on loved ones two weeks before death. It's fascinating, and a very real phenomenon that should be taken very seriously
As one who holds an MD and has been at too many da*n deathbeds lately... Or at all.... the phenomenon is real. What causes it, we don't know for certain. I don't know anyone in the field (MD, nurse, etc.) who denies we even have "the dying hours" ------ the rooms that "go sour" ----- but we have nothing to point to but experiences. Those are subjective, and therefore "symptoms", whereas science demands "signs" (measurable test results). I never have heard of a stigma in the field, but maybe it's a regional thing or something?
Load More Replies...When my grandfather was at the end, he kept saying his brother and sister, their parents, and my gramma were waiting for him upstairs. They were all already passed, of course.
I believe you. My father had a near death experience, he heard a doctor telling my mum that if he survived that night he would be ok. Then he said he was walking through a beautiful valley full of flowers and he could see two people in the distance beckoning to him, he said they were his parents, the next thing he remembers is waking up.
As my dad was dying from dementia he'd have full-blown conversations with a host of characters. I don't believe for a second any of them were real, just his brain misfiring, like being in a waking dream.
Many dying people experience hallucinations. My grandmother saw and spoke to people who weren't there when she was dying, too. I don't believe it's ghosts or spirits--just the effect of the body shutting down (and medication, as well) on the brain. But if that idea helps other people, then just let them have it. There's a reason these stories are usually comforting for the dying person and their loved ones. Death is really hard to cope with. Even with my grandmother, I find comfort in her deathbed visions regardless of whether I think they had supernatural origins because they came from her deepest and dearest thoughts and beliefs.
Load More Replies...I also work in this setting. I had a resident ring me on the night shift and tell me the man in her room was keeping her awake, I thought maybe another resident had wandered in by mistake so I asked what he looked like, she said he had a hat on and bandages like he had been burned, that he crossed her room from the door and disappeared behind her window curtain. She was very irritated and said he was keeping her up. Needless to say, I wanted that shift to end ASAP
Why? You don’t believe the spirit man was there to hurt you do you? So why? I’m sure if u had gently said to him that he was keeping your patient awake and to leave her be for awhile he would have done just that. Truly. Me….. I would have tried to find out his name in the following days and then addressed him directly with kindness and care.
Load More Replies...when my dad was n palliative care two days before he died, while he could still speak, the nurse came in and found him talking to someone. When she asked him who he was talking to, he told her she just missed meeting his mother, she had come to visit him, but left just as she came in. Later that day my mum and I saw him reaching out to someone. We asked him about t, but he seemed like he didn't see or hear us. He just fell asleep. He never woke up again. I guess his mother or maybe his brother came to help him cross.
Worked in Nursing homes for few years..one lady was dying but still quite lucid. I was standing next to her bed and she looked behind me..definitely not looking at me, I even turned around to see if anyone was there..and she said.."not I'm not ready yet..not time to go". Have had a few experiences like this with end of life patients. It's very comforting IMO
What scared me the most in this account was the expression that patients TALKED TO an empty room. Like it has a life of its own, man...
Sometimes I wonder. You go to some rooms, and they have the wrong feel, like you just entered a nightmare, even if the room *looks* fine.
Load More Replies...people on the brink of death, often hallucinate. nothing new
It may be neurological. I'm undecided, since I can't prove empirically, but having had two near-death experiences, I must admit, if it's "merely" a hallucination, then it's the most benign thing our bodies can do for us in those circumstances. Very comforting, in my case.
Load More Replies...I wonder if people don't want to hear about this so they say they don't believe you.
I believe you. People that close to death, or with their dementia rewiring their brains, how can they not see stuff we 'cognitively normal' people see?
I had a lady who was not considered seriously ill but was in her 80's who asked me to take her to a window to see the sunrise - I did so - stayed with her - she asked to go back to her room said thanks and told me it was the last sunrise she would see. She died that night!
When my grandpa was dying of prostate cancer he told my mom about how his brother Charles, who was a couple years older had come the previous night and sat on his bed to visit. They talked about the old times growing up in Connecticut and had a "real nice conversation ". He described feeling the weight of Charles sitting on his bed and how he looked exactly the same. My grandpa was completely lucid-didnt even know he was sick yet. It was absolutely his favorite brother who came to see him--the brother who had died of a collapsed lung at 21. My grandpa was 85. I've always wondered if Charles came to get his little brother and take him home
This happens to so many people in health care!!! I absolutely believe you!
When my sister was dying she told me that "Uncle Martin had come by in his army uniform". My uncle had been dead for many years.
Ghosts are among us, always have been. It confuses me that they ARE Clothed; sort of like a God-given Sims (game) Modesty Filter! They usually show up to meet family about to join them.
I guess thats just how they choose to be seen. kinda like how people can look a different age than when they died. I believe people can maybe choose other spiritual forms than human.. possibly why people have seen ''demons'' and such.
Load More Replies...When my grandad was dying from lung cancer he was shouting for his mother, he kept saying 'Where are you ma? I can hear you but I can't see you!'
What's hard to believe about that? People who's mental faculties have deteriorated to the point of no longer being functional not connecting with reality is totally plausible.
6 years ago I went through 10 surgeries for a badly broken leg. During one of the surgeries early on, I have distinct memories of waking up and hearing, seeing and smelling several minutes of the surgery. I also remember a nurse looking me in the eye and then telling someone I was awake. I then passed back out, presumably due to more anesthesia. No one believes me that this happened. I’m now terribly afraid of surgery and hope I never have to enter another operating room.
I think I had a collision problem once. Was about to take a shower and stuck my arm in to feel the water. But the water just...didn't connect. It went right through my arm, no temperature or splashing or anything.
Here's the weird s**t. I wasn't by myself. I called my wife in and she watched the same thing happen. Her arm acted normally, got wet and warm. Kept putting my arm in the stream and it didn't interact with the water at all, was like it wasn't there.
We tried water from the sink, and that was fine, I could touch that. I poked a bunch of other random s**t too, no changes. Wife put her arm beneath mine and said she could feel the water hitting her arm, like mine wasn't even there. Then at one point I stuck my arm in and it was just...fixed? Everything worked normally. We hadn't changed anything.
My wife hates talking about it because people always grill her with questions and explanations
I live in a rural community in Canada. My sister came to see me once and swore up and down that she saw a zebra grazing in the fields. I made fun of her for a couple of years about how the zebra roam the north pole and how Santa has zebra instead of reindeer. She was really starting to doubt herself but stuck to her guns.
Well, I was driving one day and lo and behold, a f*****g zebra grazing in the field. Turns out a zoo sometimes lets them roam around there.
When I told my sister she felt vindicated.
Edit: Since this has come up a lot. This was near between Orangeville, and Arthur. And was about 10 years ago.
Friend of mine had some family from europe visiting him in the Toronto area. They wanted to see "Canadian Wildlife" so he drove them around the country a bit. They were asking if it was really possible to see moose or bears, a little skeptically. He said probably not this close to the city, but it was possible. Five minutes later a giraffe ran across the road head of them. Turned out it had gotten loose from a safari park thing. I hope they don't still have those.
My Betta fish disappeared out of a covered tank. And then reappeared in front of my eyes.
If you can imagine: This tank is clear plastic on all sides, including the bottom. There's nowhere to hide when it's empty. The only thing not transparent is the metal lid. Betta fish are known to hide, so I didn't worry about not seeing him for a couple days, but on day 3 I got worried, so I took the heater and filter out. Checked the inside of the filter. Took the plants out. Took the hides out. No fish.
Nothing in the tank but water and glass rocks now, so I started scooping the rocks out, thinking he may have gotten trapped under there and died. Pretty soon I'm staring at a tank with nothing but water in it. No fish.
I figure there's no way he's still alive so I start scooping the water out. It's about 3/4 full when suddenly my fish does one of those fishy slow-turns in the dead center of the tank. There he was. It wasn't, like, I turned away and then back and my fish was there. No, I was staring at the tank, and I quite literally saw him swim back into existence. One second he wasn't there, the next he was.
I moved him to a smaller bowl for a few days to keep an eye on him. Covered the top with perforated plastic wrap to ensure no jumping. He disappeared from the bowl a couple days later and never came back. Have owned several Betta fish, and I can honestly say no other fish has ever dimension hopped out of a tank since.
I stayed over a church friend’s house when I was 8ish. He said he had a little sister but my parents and I never saw her at church or anything. My Mom said it was probably imaginary.
At night I walked in the wrong room and saw a teenage girl in a crib, dressed like a baby.
I told my Mom, I told my friends, I told whoever I could but no one believe me.
Not something I saw, something I felt and heard. I was struggling to sleep one night, lying in bed feeling wired and irritable when I felt pressure lift from the bed on my partner's side. I assumed he'd got up to go to the bathroom (I was facing the opposite way so I didn't see him do this) a few minutes go by and I hear him come back into the room and feel him get back in bed, nothing strange about that.
Lying there still frustrated the same thing happens again, a lift of pressure, some rustling sounds like a person trying to navigate a dark room, an absence of sound for a few moments and then the sensation of weight on the bed again. Still not thinking much of it, because it wasn't an obvious cause for concern, I continue trying to fall asleep. Then it happens again. And again. And again.
I wasn't too into the idea of asking him if he was ok as we had a ridiculous argument that night and I was pretty pissed off with him, so I just ignored it. But then... Then it sounded like he had got up and was simply pacing around the room clumsily, I could hear things on the shelves being touched and slightly moved and hands gently brushing against walls, and then I felt the bed suddenly dip in a concentrated spot of the mattress as though he had stood on it. This carries on for I don't know how long, rustling, pressure on the bed and so on until I snap. I sit bolt upright, turn around and say "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" to see my partner waking up from a very deep sleep and looking confused.
I told him what had happened and he said he'd been asleep next to me the whole time, which was pretty obvious to see him in his very sleepy state, plus he would have had mere seconds to jump into bed without me noticing in the time it took me to sit up and turn around. I somehow fell asleep that night feeling confused and as though eyes were on me.
And in a typical cheesy haunted house fashion, I get a call from my mum the next morning telling me my uncle had died the night before.
When I was 12, I stayed with my great aunt while my mother and brother ran to the grocery to get lunch stuff. She took me into her basement and "introduced" me to her husband. Her long dead husband. Who's remains were in a ziploc in a file drawer, neatly filed. She made a big deal about how she bought a brand new box of ziplocs for him instead of reusing one. She was all about the frugality, my great aunt.
No one believed me until after she died. When my mother and aunt found the cremains in the ziploc in the file drawer.
My Dad passed away from Cancer when I was 7 years old. My parents asked me if I wanted to be there when he died and I said no. My parents arranged for me to go to their best friends house to sleep over the night after I had said my goodbyes as he was fading away. That night he did pass and I experienced something that I cannot explain. I remember this vividly, I was fast asleep and I wake up bolted upright at 11:50pm like I was pulled awake and I knew immediately that he had died right then. I had this really strange sense of calm and acceptance and I felt my Dad’s presence like he was saying goodbye. Later I asked my Mom when he died and told her that story and it shook her hard, it happened. A few years later she took me to a clairvoyant who afterwards said I was a clairvoyant too. My mother is a highly intelligent lady, women of science and to my knowledge didn’t tell this lady a thing. A few years later I’m sitting on the couch after school with my sister watching TV and I get that same feeling again and immediately know that my Mom has been involved in a car accident and I told my sister right away like I didn’t have a choice I just said it. I was right she had been in a car accident at that exact time. This was before cell phones and I had no way of knowing, no communication with my Mom. Two events where I knew without a doubt that events had occurred when I had no logical way of knowing. It hasn’t happened since and I have no explanation whatsoever for either of them.
I seem to know things that in theory I shouldn't know. I can remember 5 different phone calls when as soon as it rang I knew who it was and that they were calling to let us know about someone who had died. I also knew the sex of various babies before they were born and also knew when their mums were in labour.
When I was a kid I ate some of my grandmother's heart medication and nearly died. Was rushed to the hospital to have my stomach pumped and I have a memory of looking down at myself on the hospital bed with my mom and hospital staff around me. It still is one of the only things I've had happen that I cannot explain and no one I've told this story to believes me at all, even my super religious aunt said it was my imagination.
Astral projection: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astral_projection. This is the sort of thing that I would normally scoff at, but it once happened to me when I was in my late teens.
When I was a kid, between the ages of 4 and 8, I would see a guy in my house. He would stand in the same spot in the same room looking at me, and my family couldn't see him. I'd cry and scream and would refuse to go near him, but nobody else ever saw him.
I'm someone who believes in logic and the laws of the universe so this really throws me off, I struggle to believe it myself but I vividly remember this person, this ghost if you wish. Even now, I remember his face. I explained this to someone the other day and I felt so silly, I sounded like I was making it up!
While I proclaim I don’t believe in ghosts, I worked in a very old movie theater in San Francisco, and one evening after we’d closed, the manager and I were doing a walk-through in the auditorium looking for left-behind items (sweatshirts were common) to put in the lost-and-found box behind the counter, and as I walked out the auditorium door, there was a slight puff of wind and something whispered in my ear “Mary Rose”. It was so frigging creepy!
Ball lightning. There was a glowing white ball in the sky, like nothing I've ever seen. It flew around, maneuvered a bit. I turned my head to reach for my camera. When I looked back, it immediately went behind a cloud and disappeared.
There was no lightning that day. The weather was rather fair and nice. It lasted for about a minute. Was really interesting.
I've shared this on reddit before, but once I was driving through Utah on a 2 lane highway all alone, in the middle of the day and I passed by what I thought was a wolf, and wanted to snap a picture to send to my father, as that was his favorite animal. I was looking at it in mY rear view mirror, and it looked really mangy and diseased, but was looking right back at me. I watched it lift its front paw off the ground, and it waved at me with a five fingered, human f*****g hand before placing it back on the ground, once again a paw. I have never, ever gone as far over the speed limit as i did when I sped tf off.
I saw a dude standing next to my truck with an unnaturally wide smile. I was on highway 49 east right outside Greenwood, MS. I heard hail hit my truck a few times so I pulled over expecting a tornado. I was grabbing my backpack getting ready to bail out for the ditch. I turn back to the driver side window to check my mirror and this guy was just standing there. Smiling. It scared me so bad I just slammed the truck in drive and got out of there.
I saw my uncle fall from the roof as he was escaping a house fire. He was able to get inside the car and take off but not before the house toppled over on top of the car. After a few minutes he appeared out of the smoke, limping away. I distinctly remember running back to my house (right next door) to tell my mom about what had just happened.
We go outside and nothing. No fire, no smashed car, no house falling over.
I dunno wtf 5 year old me was smoking but I had the hardest time processing what had just happened or not happened. My mom was so angry with me for coming up with such a awful lie about her little brother.
Til this day, 27 years old now, I can't explain what, why, or how I saw what I saw but I very much remember terrifying feeling I felt during and afterwards.
Mom thinks I must've fallen asleep playing outside and woke up from a nightmare and panicked but whatever it was it feel too real.
I’ve had dreams that when I wake up I’m surprised to find I was sleeping because it seemed so real.
On the bike path a man riding a beach cruiser one handed, no shirt but wearing a huge sombrero, carrying a fawn cradled in his other arm.
When I was living with my parents, our small dog jumped straight up onto the kitchen counter. It was super high, but he made it. He only did it once and I witnessed it, but my family calls BS every time I say it really happened.
I was searching for my dog. I have small garden with big fence around, and she was nowhere in house. Took me hour of searching until through the window I see my dog laying perfectly comfortable on sun on glass top garden table as high as normal dining table. Glass top. 30 kilo Stafford. With both sided dysplasia... I have no clue how she got there, never saw her jumping but chairs were under the table perfectly fitting so couldn't go on chair and than on the table. I was freaked out but happy she was ok... Dogs are strange 😊.
A few years back I saw a capybara in my front yard (in Alabama). NO ONE believed me because by the time I came back with my phone he was gone.
The best I got was a, “I guess it might have been a capybara” after a local man was found to have his own exotic animal collection less than three miles away.
Other animals I saw in that yard: an emu and two bison.
I must have lived pretty close to that dude’s land.
Edit to add: it was def a capybara. I watched it for several minutes and estimated it’s weight somewhere around 100-130lbs . Dude also had a panther escape in the area which brought in state wildlife officials.
Myself from several feet away. I was very very tired and I was walking up the steps at my house. I remember watching myself from an angle that wouldn't have been possible. But I remember it clear as day.
I have never mentioned this before to anyone. Scene: EPCOT in Orlando, on the brick walkway between a walk-thru part with stores and such on either side and the part leading up to The Land. Date: June 2008. I was with my pregnant wife. Huge storm rolls in, black clouds, about to pour, when there was this unearthly deafening sound and bright light exploded. I opened my eyes and I was standing 30 feet or more away back under the covered walkway, unharmed. My wife said I had been standing right beside her, then I wasn't. It was too far to have run in the brief second of the explosion (I assume a lightning strike). Swear this happened as well as I could tell it.
You’re lucky to be alive, dude! I read a fascinating book by someone who was struck by lightning, and it really messed up her neural pathways. I went online to find the title and met with no success, but it’s out there.
I have very vivid memories of my great grandfather. I distinctly remember which room he lay in for months while being cared for by his family and what the layout of the room was like. I also have a memory of playing with him and him talking to me while I was being fully aware that he had cancer in the latest stages and understood that he would probably die soon.
Thing is I only ever met him once in person and I was only 4 months old.
My family has pointed out that I knew facts about his appearance that I could not possibly have known because there are close to no pictures of him. (like a big scar he had across his chest from an operation)
I have no other memories from my early childhood. (In fact my memory about that time is so bad I don't even correctly recall things from my time in kindergarden.)
i have memories i cant explain from before i was 1. my moms cousin had a sea foam green colored house wen i was around 5 or 6 months wen i was 10 years old we went back to their house and i asked them if they painted their house a darker green. i hadnt been to their house since i was 5 or 6 months so how could i possibly kno that my family was stunned. i also remember how i got my first teddy bear at 3 months i correct my mom all the time and my grandma says that my version of the story is the correct one.
Was playing with my Cousin and a friend of ours outside. We were riding our bikes and had a bunch of fun, but couldn't explore that far from where I live l, since we were like 7 or 8 y/o.
As we were cheerfully cycling down a long road behind a parking garage near my apartment, I started to slow down as I was getting tired of it. Both of them were continuing to cycle down the road as they haven't noticed me being left behind yet.
You have to understand that the location of the road was right in between the parking garage (with 2 floors) and a fence which has only rails on the other side and was usually deserted. So once I stopped cycling, I could only turn tail or follow the road ahead.
After reaching my limit, I simply stopped my bike mid way after a while and tried to catch some breath. While doing so something caught my eye on the backstairs of the parking garage, I tried to get closer to check out what it was out of curiosity. But boy was that a mistake. I spotted a man who seemed kneel down behind a wall of the backstairs. Didn't seem suspicious at first, however after a closer look I saw what seemed like knife covered in blood. My body froze and all I could feel was fear that went through my body, which felt like it lasted for minutes. The man just started to catch on with me standing on road and began to slowly stand-up and face my direction. I was somehow able to get my brain back to process and bolted down the street with any power I had left in me.
After passing both my cousin and friend, as well as leaving a big distance to where I spotted him. I started to break down in tears and explaining what happened. No one would believe me, since they went back to check and found nothing strange. Got so traumatized from it, that I avoided the road until my mid teens.
Tldr; saw a man with a knife covered in blood behind a parking garage while cycling as kid and no one would believe.
When I was a kid I remember seeing a lady’s face in a doorway "grinning" at me, with what I assumed to be something brown covering her entire face and teeth. I would see her several times until we moved away when I was 5. Obviously my family didn’t see her but my mom got worried when I told her that I saw "the lady from the kiosk", which is what I called the lady after I dreamt of her falling down a flight of stairs in a small store not far from our house.
And I s**t you not, my mom told me a few months ago that in the same store I was dreaming of, a woman had fallen down a flight of stairs and had her face torn on the way down, apparently being covered in dried blood when she was found, hence my description of her. Imagine the look on my face when I heard that lmao
Also, apparently I kept talking to my mom about a man in the wall back then?? I don’t remember seeing a "man in the wall" but I do remember talking about him.
When I was little, maybe 7, the son of a lady who babysat my brother and I, cut his leg on our swing set. Green goo came out of his leg. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember the type of bolt it was, the cover is was missing to prevent cuts.
I’m a dentist now (taken gross anatomy, dissected a human body, routinely in the OR for resections of crazy head and neck tumors).
With the exception of gross infections, I’ve never seen green goo come out of someone. Let alone a healthy leg.
It will never make sense to me. Ever.
Dentists do not resect tumors unless they are also *surgeons*, just clarifying.
Once while in a drained pool, I heard a droning sound. It kept getting louder and louder, when a massive cloud of bees slowly flew overhead and into the distance.
When a beehive gets too crowded, a new queen is born and leads half of the hive to a new area to start a new colony.
In November of 2012, the day before the world was supposed to end, my buddy and I went up to the store to grab drinks. We no joke saw a full size airplane so low to ground we couldn't believe it. It was hovering above a street light and wasn't moving. Even weirder was when we got to the store as soon as we entered every single person we could see all turned their heads and started right at us, like we weren't supposed to be there. They stopped shortly after but damn was it the weirdest thing ever. Of course no one believes us.

I had one my mother verified as true. When I was a little girl in the 80s, my family had a condo with a postage stamp backyard. I remember going out there and seeing an "Indian Chief" riding by. Tall, dignified, long dark hair. For years I thought it was a dream. Turns out this old Native American lived with his kids a few miles away and liked to ride his horse and wave at the neighbor kids.
This has happened to me 4 times. But I managed to prove it for 2 of them. The other two are actually almost b the same thing. I was outside with my partner, brother and dad. I see a fire ball flying in the sky and then it exploded. I was the only one that saw it coz the others were too busy chatting. The next time I was camping and standing outside with my partner, our mate and his dad. We were chatting away and I see a fireball flying in the sky, I tried getting the others attention but by the time they looked up it had gone behind the cabins nearby. Everyone thinks I was seeing things.
How big were the fireballs and what color? I've seen a decent sized meteor/fireball streak across the sky and explode (way, way bigger than a shooting star, but not big enough to wake the whole city). It was bluish green. At first I thought it had to be an explosion from a chemical plant or something (except it was coming down instead of going up somehow...), but when I looked up what it could have been later, I found that fireballs from meteors are often blue/green. Apparently, they're quite common, but the average person never sees one. If you spend a lot of time in the wildenerness where you can clearly see the sky at night, you have a much greater chance, though. I would love to see one again. It was so beautiful.
Load More Replies...I have a few but my most recent: my grandma who I was very close to passed away about 3 years ago. One night I was sitting in my family room thinking about her and I suddenly smelled the overwhelming scent of her perfume. There's no way to explain it. Nothing of hers in the room with me and I was by myself. I just know it was her in the room. I felt her presence.
I get that with people who are still living. I'm honestly not sure what it is, could be supernatural, could be synesthesia, but it very rarely happens. something that's more frequent, if I'm really craving a food, then I can taste it,but sometimes the flavour is oddly different and I can't place why.
Load More Replies...When I was like 3-4 I was hit by lightning. I remember my dad telling my to get my doll carriage-which was a 50s style real baby carriage with the metal sides an big wheels-off the front lawn. As I was walking to it i saw a blue light come down an hit the street. Then it did a snake walk lazily towards where I was. Next I know I'm in the bushes. If there weren't there I'd have been bounced off the side of the house. So my dad comes back out hearing the noise an sees me. Said "oh ground lightning". Like ok. But am I ok?? Yeah. It snapped right at my feet and because I had my hands on the carriage the rubber wheels grounded most of the charge. But it do know everything hurt. Later in life like 20 or so I was electrocuted at a job. You feel the marrow in your bone pop an explode. And you can't move. Only think an realize it's happening. I used to get shocks from plugs in walls. So I have a habit of pulling them out by the cords. Bow I just need to hit the lottery...
Reminds me of my father's. To this day he remembers being outside playing baseball (in the 50s or 60s, I'm not sure of the year. He was a teen at the time and 100% sober) and he and some friends saw a UFO flying over Brooklyn. They contacted the authorities as best they could but no-one believed a bunch of kids. I found a book on UFOs a while back that pretty much confirmed there were a number of sightings at that time
My one uncle claimed to see Bigfoot, but as he hunted while drunk, I hope it's understandable why we didn't believe him. (We did however find bear tracks.)
I was walking home late from work, drizzly day so I had a trenchcoat. Car turns too from very busy main street onto badly-lit street I am in the middle of crossing (it's not going SUPER fast but still enough to be dangerous). I instinctively tried to jump out of the way (backwards, not sideways, like an idiot). My foot comes down on the fender, bends my ankle so my other foot comes down on the hood. Trying not to fall I get another few steps that take me over the hood, land on my butt on the trunk and am left standing in the middle of the road - a wicked bruise on my thigh but otherwise completely unharmed - as the a****** driving speeds off down the empty street without stopping. TL/DR: I channeled The Matrix and literally leapt over a car and nonine saw!
When I was 10 years old. my mom went back to school. There were 7 of us so the school put us up in a house big enough for a covered front porch with several chairs. It was also across the street from the park so we liked to sit there and watch the world go by. One day we were watching a couple of our favorite squirrels do their thing when it started raining. One went back to their tree in the park and the other ran under a lilac bush. The rain started coming down hard so the one in the bush decided to make a dash for the safety of his tree. As he ran across the street, the second he touched the manhole cover, it was hit by lightning. It was just...gone. My dad, one brother and I all saw it but no one else believed a squirrel could be vaporized. When the rain stopped we went out and couldn't find a thing.
I have one. Almost every time someone is talking to me, I see the words they're speaking written out in the air next to them, kind of like subtitles. Just the words showing up as the person says them. Other stuff too--a bunch of question marks when they look confused or a cartoony raincloud for moody. It's like I'm living in a comic book, or that movie spiderman: into the spiderverse. It's kinda fun sometimes, but god does it get annoying. Makes it really difficult to tune things out sometimes, and a bunch of people talking over each other drives me crazy. Also rap is difficult to listen to.
This is called "Tickertaping". It's a very rare type of synesthesia, though some would argue it's a different phenomenon altogether. "...tickertaping is an explicit expression of the close interconnection between phonemic and graphemic representations of words which, for reasons we do not yet understand, manifests as visual imagery with a varying degree of automaticity." I made her a card and thought I'd go leave it between her doors for when she got home later that night. It was winter and was dark early. I went up a narrow walk between two fences to her door, then left. As I was about 20 feet away I turned around to make sure I'd closed her screen door tightly and there, at the door under a dim porch light was a man standing looking down at where I'd left the card. He wore a dark brown suit and a bowler hat. It was all very old dress. He didn't move. Everything was oddly quiet. I in fact blinked many times, even turned around to check another time. I thought it had to be a trick of the light. No, each time he was there, like a statue, just gazing down at where the card would be, between the doors. I found out the next day that they'd been gone to her Uncle's funeral and he'd been buried with his favorite bowler.
I don't know how early it actually started, but I was about three when I was aware of the frequent visits of the curtain people. I used to tell my family about them. I suppose they thought I was just making it up. But that was the beginning of a lifetime of experiencing things that can't be explained by logic or science. I've given up trying to prove it, and I've given up trying to explain to people who cannot understand.
Same here. I don't talk about any of those things anymore because most people get scared and change the subject.

I was once playing with my friends at a local playground which was near a rather steep railway bridge. I was about 13 years (before I discovered boys) We were on the pavement that went over the bridge and I saw my sister (who is 8 years older than me) walking to work, she had her yogurts in her hand and was wearing her denim jacket (this was the 1980's). So, wanting to say hello to her I checked the road both ways so that I wouldn't get run over and hurried across the road to talk to my sister. When I got there she wasn't there. No one was there. I jogged to the top of the hill to see if she was on the other side of the bridge and again no one was there. I'd seen a very detailed vision of my sister but no one else saw it. My friends thought I was bullshitting them. I know usually these sorts of visions end with 'when I got home I found out she'd been killed' etc but my sister was safe and well and is still alive to this day.
When I was about 5 or 6, I was playing at the playground in our apartment complex. I found an earth worm. Carried up the ramp to go down the slide together (no clue why) and when I sat down at the top of the slide, I looked down at the worm wiggling on my palm. It disappeared into the palm of my hand. Must've blinked or something but it freaked me out so badly! I haven't and I'll never hold another worm again. So creepy!
When I was a small child my family lived in a small apartment. Sometimes at night when I would walk past the bathroom I would have a weird feeling and I would feel someone tickling me. A few times I even heard laughing.
I like stories like this, even though they’re all totally explainable. There’s a podcast I like that has stories similar to this thread, it’s called Spooked.
I can sometimes get what I call "visions". They started around 5-ish years ago and have happened ever since. So, I'll be lost in thought, or at the edge of sleep, or even while talking to someone. I'll close my eyes and suddenly there's a scene in my mind. One I remember vividly. We go to KFC, and a particular one too. There's one that has a "super target" across the street. Well, we ate there and got done and everything. This was where I could see my vision playing out *exactly* how I originally saw it. We were approaching our car, which was a black KIA. I'm maybe 10. Where I live, it very rarely gets cold. But that night, it was cold. I had a purple parka on, black leggings with doodles on them, my hair down, and my converse on. My dad was wearing a grey jacket with a lot of pockets, a green shirt on, and some jeans. My stepmom has a leather jacket, black pants, and black cowboy boots, carrying a Boba Fett handbag. I told my dad about it, but I think he's still skeptical.
