A.I. Shows What Old Hollywood Celebrities Would Look Like If They Were ‘Modernized’ (20 Pics)
Hollywood is known for having the best, most talented, and beautiful actors and actresses. Most of us probably know great actresses from old Hollywood. Like the beautiful and talented Audrey Hepburn, or the icon of beauty—Marilyn Monroe. But how would they and 18 more women look if they lived in today's times?
I decided to use A.I. and many other applications to colorize and modernize these photos. It's interesting to see what famous actresses would look like in the 21st century. Of course, A.I. is not perfect yet, so some photos are kinda wonky and some even change the faces completely. Tell us what you think in the comments and upvote your favorite remake!

The second one looks like she had a really good spa day. Both are exceptionally beautiful.
I would like to know how to do that hair . . .I know it's AI, but I'm sure someone could do it
Not necessarily this video, but on YouTube are plenty of this hairstyle. Looks so easy to do it. 😂

They should have given her back her natural hair color. The studio made her get her hairline raised and lighten her hair. Rita also used her mother's maiden name because her birth name of Cansino sounded too Spanish.
Rita was part Sephardic-Jewish, rather than Spanish, her screen-image was the result of a lot of cosmetic work and her singing-voice had to be dubbed by a professional singer (as was often).

More like read about it, or maybe color photos from later in her life
Load More Replies...Audrey Hepburn
So by ‘modernising’ we simply mean filtering? They all lose their authentic beauty and charisma if you ask me,
They retouched photos just as heavily as they do today, it just took longer. The Breakfast At Tiffany's companion even has a picture where an original photo had been marked up with a grease pen on where they wanted the retouching done.
Load More Replies...Awful. This stupid AI really thinks, Audrey Hepburn needs Botox lips? The coloured picture looks like one of thousand uniform starlets instead of the one-in-a-million charismatic person Audrey Hepburn was.
That updated photo doesn’t do her justice at all!
Load More Replies...They made her look like Ariana Grande! Audrey Hepburn was a classic beauty!
Grace Kelly
The original picture was a poor choice and not representative of her look. The AI version doesn't look like her at all. She was MUCH more beautiful than that.
Yuck! How do you take one of the most exquisite women ever born and turn her into Boring Barbie?
Compared to the original, the new one is awful. The filters and the "corrected" nose take away her personality.
Vivien Leigh
On the update, the sharper cut in on the lower right cheek ruined her original beauty. Her fuller and more natural cheeks have her the look that fit her and her character. But I may be wrong.
Gene Tierney
Ingrid Bergman
Making the upper lip fuller destroyed her identity, she now looks anonymous.
No. Just no. Where's the melancholic look of the original? Where's her personality?
is it just me or does she look kinda like Ana de Armas?
Judy Garland
They made her smile more, what is with people asking women to smile more!
they made her look fake and like a doll, some of these I don't agree with because they are changing their natural beauty
Agh! The amount of make-up on the second one though! I mean, I guess it’s pretty accurate, but the amount of make-up is just agh and makes the face look “fake” (yes, I know this is a fake image, but you know what I mean). I don’t know, I might be overreacting, but just look at my profile name and you’ll understand.
The 'modernized' version ignores that you could not get a 16 year old to wear that dress. Modernize the outfit.
I know some 16-year-olds that would love to wear that dress.
Load More Replies...Bette Davis
This AI always makes the eyes bigger (and mostly blue) and the lips fuller and thinks that looks better. But in fact, it only reduces the personality.
I've never understood the fascination with Bette Davis. She's always looked kinda weird to me. Which, of course, is irrelevant to this post.
too fake and her head proportion doesn't fit in with the body proportion
Sophia Loren
do you see the hair? CHANGED. seriously u this dumb. its based on standards now vs then

Carole Lombard
It's funny because all the left pictures have been heavily retouched themselves. Carole Lombard had a not insignificant scar on her left cheek (if you watch My Man Godfrey, and you should, it's most noticeable in her side profile when sitting at the dump). She had another one near her left eye and one more by her mouth. Nearly every released picture of her had this airbrushed out; it was airbrushed in most movies, where possible, such as in strong front shots or when they couldn't use trick lighting to hide it.
They were retouched according to the beauty standards of the day. These aren't retouched so much as theproportions digitally altered to crezte more symmetry and a more tarty Hollywood/advertising look.
Load More Replies...Wow...Those uniquely unusual lips and beautiful eyes are hypnotic...I'm under her spell!
Katharine Hepburn
Again the AI steals the personality of the original. Katherine Hepburn was a goddess. The new picture is a pretty picture, not more.
Ava Gardner
Lauren Bacall
Of course. They all look different because of the technique that makeup artists use in the 21st Century. They are all beautiful women but the makeup gave them a 21st Century look.
Load More Replies...Doesn’t even look like Lauren Bacall. Her eyes are much more Sultry without all the makeup!
Yeah, sorry, her eyes were always "bedroom" eyes, half lidded. and her lips looked like she expected to be hit, and would take it and spit it back. lost it somehow.
Brigitte Bardot
Joan Crawford
Ms. Collins always looked (to me) like her jaw was clenched . .. hard. it defined her look. I think you made her too soft.
Jayne Mansfield
The only difference is more hair and added makeup, and that makes her a "barbie" now?
Load More Replies...Marlene Dietrich
So every single one of these photos has filled lips in common. Easiest way to make the iconic beauties of their time look unrecognizable and easily forgettable.
Load More Replies...Most of these are terrible. I wouldn't actually call the images on the right "modern." Ruined would be a better fit! P.S. They're beautiful in their original formats! So, why change them!?
The second biggest crime in this list (the biggest is the photographic rape of Lauren Bacall). The new picture has nothing to do with Marlene Dietrich.
Yeah, I hate this. You changed the stunning looks of these classic women for the worse, stripping them of their individuality. The worse was Marlene Dietrich. Sorry that I hate this.
I agree. Enlarging lips and more hair plus more eye makeup do not result in modernizing a particular person. Perhaps I interpreted the artist's intent wrongly. I believe I thought the effort was to show how they would look today. The title could have been 'How I Would Alter Old-Time Movie Stars'. Still a fun and skillful presentation.
Load More Replies...These women were just fine the way they looked. Why use AI? Can't we just colorize the photos and not have a program change their features and make completely new women out of them? I'm not mad at you, just the whole notion of women adapting to beauty standards set by society, even posthumously.
I found it fascinating how many of became almost identical to some of today's stars.
Load More Replies...Fail. She isn't Audrey Hepburn anymore. You have changed her natural beauty into the airbrushed, photoshopped fake version popular today -- which nobody likes. Creating a template or definition of attractive is harmful. Instead of seeing individually and imperfections as beautiful, "attractive" is narrowly defined. I couldn't look at the rest.
Sorry. I didn't compliment how skilfully this was done. Regardless of the subject matter, your images are beautiful.
Load More Replies...I don't understand why we feel the need to hold things in the past to today's standards.
I don't even see why we have to hold up things today to today's standards!!! Who decided women have to be glopped over with thst much make-up and fake eyelsshes and big ole hair extensions today? Who hates women that much!?
Load More Replies...honestly this was kinda pointless. no offense, but i hate them all. theyre fine how they are
I think it looks cool with color, but hey change their looks? They were beautiful ❤️
OK, every single picture change ruined the unique beauty of these women. The originals were fabulous, the "updated" ones generic.
You can't even tell who some them are in the 'after' pictures. Sorry, Hidreley, but you went too far. Should have modernized their hair and clothes, but not their faces.
