It (1990)
I met Tim Curry when I was in high school at a Wash, DC theater where he played Amadeus. My friend and I stood by the stage door after the (amazing) play and waiting for him and Jane Seymour (hugely pregnant) to come out. They had to wait for a cab and couldn't have been sweeter to us hyped up, obnoxious girls. He kissed my cheek and my mom had to force me to wash it. Lol. He answered all our questions about Rocky Horror and was as nice as could be, poor Jane being so pregnant must have been exhausted after a show but didn't show it at all. Very nice people!
Load More Replies...He looks so bummed! So bummed I want to cheer him up. But maybe... maybe he's bummed when he's not murdering so pass.
I met once, after his stroke (at a doctor's office where I took a friend), and he is the sweetest man! I just said hi to him because I didn't want to bug someone receiving medical care. He had a helper with him and when I went to walk away, the helper stopped me and told me, "Thank you for being respectful but he loves it when fans come up to him. Most are scared now." He could barely speak but I sat with them in the waiting room for a good twenty minutes chatting. It made his day and mine! It's sad when people ignore the handicap because they think it's polite. It makes them feel so left out. Taught me a great lesson in a very short time. Now at functions I look for those people to include them. All that being said, if he was dressed as Pennywise... I'd go running in the other direction. HIS Pennywise gave me my gear of clowns as a kid. The new one makes me laugh because they made him look scary. Pennywise was scary because he DIDN'T look scary in the original.
Jurassic Park (1993)
The special effects in this movie look more impressive than most cgi movies nowadays
Not very much is done with CGI in Jurassic Park. It’s my fav for that reason
Load More Replies...Who agrees that cgi these days ruin the realism effect in some movies? Cause this movie proves just how amazing something can be without newer technology.
This is a great example, along with the first Star Wars trilogy, Aliens and Terminator II, the best ever!
Load More Replies...2nd picture from the top -- Spielberg sitting in front of a Triceratops(?). Apparently this picture caused a brief internet outburst when it was posted and some people thought he was being pretty cruel and nasty to have killed that animal (and pose in front of the carcass).
There were people who actually believed they killed a living triceratop...
I remember a story from when they were making it (yes, I'm old). The T-Rex head kept getting so heavy from the rain, it would fall over. So the poor guy in the 2nd from the bottom photo had to keep toweling it off so T-Rex wouldn't take a header.
It also just moved out of itself because the rain would cause some sort of havoc in the technical system

Fun fact: Danny (the son) didn't know he was filming a horror movie, so he didnt saw the horror parts until he was much older. He was shown a very short very edited version of the movie at the time.
I've known this for years but still find it incredible considering some of the things he had to do. Like when he sees the twins and looks so ridiculously terrified and covers his eyes. His face is scary in itself!
Load More Replies...Wow, there's a picture of Kubrick and it looks like it's a selfie. Does anyone recognize the woman with him? Is that his daughter?
Yes it's his daughter. There's actually a collection of the photographs she took on this set.
Load More Replies...Not sure how much they continued with show business after this one, but one of the sisters is a scientist, and the other one is a lawyer. Little Danny is now a college professor.
Load More Replies...Love that the fella in the blue jacket is resting his whole arm on the lady's boob to take the photo. What the hell.
That's actually his daughter. That probably makes it worse.
Load More Replies...Back To The Future (1985)
Up until this very day I never questioned how they did the engine sequence. Seeing the little model kinda makes me feel stupid. (Or it just simply was made so well that I was fully involved in the movie.)
I think Einstein because it's the "future" set and Copernico lived in the 1955 dimension.

Tim Burton is a freaking outstanding visionary! Hi And Danny Elfman are my favs and have been for MANY A YEAR!
My sis and I loved this movie when it came out! Pretty sure we knew the words to every song, mom included lol
Titanic (1997)
And according to another thread, they have been *best of friends* ever since!
Jaws (1975)
ik its fake n everything but i would NOT be able to see that shark come outta the water at me XD
In my opinion, it was a better movie because they had so many problems with the mechanical shark Bruce. They couldn't use Bruce in as many scenes as they had planned due to the problems. End result: a lot more left to the imagination. I think it made the movie even scarier.
Apparently they had a field day during shootings with the shark prop.
The thing that made JAWS such a HUGE success was that Bruce the shark kept malfunctioning. Spielberg has said many times that the need to keep him OUT of camera range built up suspense to near agonizing levels.
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
Still biggest horror movie for me. I was scared of him when I was young... And I'm still scared when I see this movie...I'm 33 now...
Planet Of The Apes (1968)
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
The Matrix (1999)
I thought there were more than one wire to hold them. They must be very fit to keep those poses, specially Keanu
They didn't hold those poses - they were hoisted up and dropped within a couple of seconds.
Load More Replies...Hard to believe the first one is 20 years old this year!
Load More Replies...One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
One of the only movies that left me and the entire audience speechless. You could hear a pin drop as we all left the theatre.
Léon: The Professional (1994)
Leon may have been an assassin, but he still had a heart, and was a kind of father figure for Mathilda. But I have to say, Gary Oldman really steals the movie as Stansfield. “I don’t have time for this Mickey Mouse b******t!”
I always got more of a creepy sexual tension between them then a father daughter
Load More Replies...I really wish there would be a sequel to this film, grown up Matilda taking down corrupt city officials or similar.
Man I was a kid when this movie came out and I remember actually liking it lol I'm sure I didn't understand everything fully but even as a kid I thought it was a good movie.
I loved this movie. It showed the ugliest and the kindest of side of a human being.
One of the best, if not the best, movies ever! Great acting by all three! Love it.
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
There's an awesome behind the making of Star Wars movie that's like four hours long it comes with the original trilogy if you buy it in some sort of anniversary edition
Listen to the podcast "Inside Star Wars" by Wondery. It is pretty fantastic.

Load More Replies...Honey, I Shrunk The Kids (1989)
Not sure about the first but the others were filmed in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Cool eh?
can't really say if CGI technology had ruined or improved movie enjoyment, but they've changed a whole lot.
CG is better as a whole as it leaves no waste and needs no construction
Load More Replies...The Terminator (1984)
If you like films and podcasts, there are some great podcasts by Wondery about films. They are "Inside Star Wars" , "Inside Psycho", "Inside the Exorcist", and "Inside Jaws". Each podcast is about 6 episodes long, 1 hour or so per episode, and are done in a radio drama / documentary style. A lot of fun and very interesting!
The Dark Knight (2008)
This is my favorite live action Joker, but I grew up with the voice of Hamill's Joker.
Conan The Barbarian (1982)
I've been a fan of his ever since the Conan movies. Getting old sucks, I wish he could have stayed young forever so he could keep making movies like he did in the 80's and 90's.
Read some of the old Conan books. They are fantastic.
Load More Replies...If that's Wilt Chamberlain, then the last picture is from Conan the Destroyer... not barbarian
Is that Franco bottom left? Used to think he was so hot! Googled him. Still alive and well.
The guy with the mallet is Sven-Ole Thorsen, who coincidentally played Tigris the Gaul, the gladiator Maximus fights in the scene from Gladiator shown below at #30
Godzilla (1954)
What a lucky mother f****r. Deep down you know you also wanna play at being godzilla and stomp around a city or town
I'd rather have those velociraptor pants from the Jurassic Park post.
Load More Replies...The bottom pictures are not from 1954 movie. The Gojira costume got sillier and sillier with each movie starting to look like a pissed off cat rather than king of monsters.
"He picks up a bus and he throws it back down as he waves his tail towards the center of town...Godzilla!"
The Silence Of The Lambs (1991)
There's a whole story about Anthony making his tongue snake noise on set all the time to scare Jody Foster.. so when he busted it out during the fava bean scene it really did startle her and the reaction is real
The Silence of the Lambs was one of only three movies to win the big five Oscars - best picture, best director, best actor, best actress, and best screenplay. It Happened One Night 1934 (with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert) and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 1975 (with Jack Nicholson and Louise Fletcher).
Per her interview on Graham Norton, Jody Foster was so frightened by Anthony Hopkins’ performance that she did not talk or interact with him except in their scenes.
Aliens (1986)
Wrong, first picture is from Alien- look at the overalls & patch on the shoulder, and the design of the flamethrower. This is featured on the Quadrilogy box set in the special features, Weaver is practising using the flamethrower prior to filming the scene as she escapes the Nostromo.
Load More Replies...My brother, sister, and I would have movie marathons at night after my mom and dad went to bed (cause then the tv was finally free) in the summers. One night would be all the Star Wars movies, next night would be all the Aladdin movies, next night after that- Alien movies! Yes we were kids and we loved the Alien movies! I even had some action figures of the Aliens lol

Metropolis (1927)
Eerily prophetic film about the difference between the pampered lives of the elite and the reality of the workers who keep their world running.
I don't believe that last one is from Metropolis. It looks too normal, and the camera is encase in a box indicative of early talkies. The cameras were so loud that they could be heard in on set recordings. Before they designed quieter cameras, they soundproofed the old ones. Metropolis was a silent flick.
The Birds (1963)
Hitchcock went furious when Tippi Hedren turned him down and forced her to do a scene over and over again until she fainted.
It was the scene where she is stuck alone in a room full of birds. Was she in the attic? Can't remember. Anyway, even though most of the birds in the movie are just props, they also used live birds - and they were throwing live birds in her face for hours - so she claims. Fun fact: Tippi Hedren is mother to Melanie Griffith and grandma to Dakota Johnson.

One of my favorite movies. Hitchcock was a pig, but also a genius. I was surprised to learn it was filmed entirely on set in Hollywood: The courtyard looked so real, I always assumed it was shot on location.
The Revenant (2015)

Such a quirky movie - which I have watched several times, just to be sure :) So many tubes and wires, everywhere! I think Terry Gilliam must have a fetish for them.
The Evil Dead (1981)
The Seven Year Itch (1955)
Goldeneye (1995)
Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)
They can use any color, but green and blue are chosen due to the lack of people wearing that color in that shade. So, if you have something of that color on set which you want on the film you must use a different color that computers can recognize and replace with the designated CGI.
