35 Advertisements So Clever, They Deserve A Permanent Spot On The Internet
A marketing team’s job seems like it must get harder and harder as the years go by. Most people are being constantly bombarded with ads, posters, banners, videos, and slogans, to such a degree that “ad blindness” is becoming a measurable phenomenon. So when an ad actually makes you stop and look, it’s a sign that someone knew what they were doing.
The “Brilliant Advertisements” Instagram page shares marketing campaigns that stand head-and-shoulders above the rest. So guard your wallet, get comfortable as you scroll through, and be sure to upvote your favorites.

UNICEF "One Shot Is Enough" Campaign On Cyber Bullying That Won A Set Of Gold Press And Outdoor Lions At Cannes In 2015
Ohhh, okay. The girls are holding phones to take pictures to bully her. I was confused and thought they were holding syringes and didn't know how that would be cyber bullying.
Oh thanks I didn't know what they were holding either. That's terrible. I would hope phones aren't even allowed in the locker room
Load More Replies...It took me a minute to figure out they're holding their phones.
Hmmm, could also be taken to suggest that it isn't that hard to ruin someone, one shot is all it takes :-(
I thought they were holding Tootsie Pops. The ad company needs a better camera...or camera man.
"Man Of Steel" Superman Elevator Ad
Is this where Superman is supposed to change now?
shame the s they are using is off the Superman Returns costume.
Not every brilliant marketing campaign is an ad. Some brands have realized that just attaching their name to something people are paying attention to can bring recognition and associations. For example, Dove’s “real beauty” campaign wasn’t exactly promoting the company's products, rather, it was simply research on women’s self-perceptions of beauty.
One of its most famous takeaways was the startling discovery that “only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful.” Given that you probably see more than a dozen beautiful women while strolling around any city center for less than an hour, the study highlighted the havoc unrealistic beauty standards had caused for female mental health.
Beach Shower That Looks Like A Giant Sprite Machine
Who is that pervert sitting in the chair watching everybody shower?
Don't Buy Exotic Animal Souvenirs
somebody should be reporting them exotic animals dealers before they reach the markets❤
there is a massive world wide effort behind the scenes if you will to catch and prosecute those involved at all levels
Load More Replies...If you want, taking a picture or buying a stuffed animal of the animal is a good alternative.
Definitely. I love my plush himalayan snow leopard 🤍
Load More Replies...I rather have a photo of an exotic animal to remember them by, than a body part, that's just nasty. I do have realistic skeletons in my house but they aren't real skeletons. They are either plastic or resin. No animals were harmed in creating them.
Well, I know a giraffe that was quite offended.
Load More Replies...The photo makes my stomach churn. This isn't humanity, and all I can say more is that I feel sick and emotionally upset to the max.
If You Want Stronger Marriage, Work On It Together
Love your comment! I actually quoted something similar to my wife when were having some issues, in that, we're fighting the problems, not each other. Very much truth and that simple line has helped us through a lot.
Load More Replies...Wow, I’m def not at my brightest today.. Thought you were suppose to cut out the M entirely and turn the E 180, as in 3, as in ‘If your marriage don’t work - get a baby’, and I was just about to write my comment in all caps🙄
So people and media outlets were discussing and sharing a study that tactically included Dove’s branding and logo and linked to their official website. This way, Dove escaped the trap of “ad blindness” by using (important) research as a sort of Trojan horse. In a sense, this sort of marketing is perhaps a best-case scenario, as a company spends its resources to make something useful for all of us.
Anti-Smoking
Was hoping I’d see an anti smoking ad on here - there are some creative ones
Grandma used to say she checked the Sunday paper each week to see who quit smoking. I said do they really tell that in the papers??? She said Yes, In the Obituaries!! hehe
the print on the ceiling creates the illusion that we are looking up from an open grave. the guys on the left have "dug their own grave" by smoking.

Heartbreaking. I'd take all the kids if I could. Such beautiful little people they should never know heartache
There is a sort of arms race going on, as marketers are becoming increasingly aware that more and more of us have learned to tune out most advertisements. Posters and billboards hardly raise an eye and most of us simply do something else when an unskippable video ad plays. Interestingly, even before 2000, researchers had noticed that many people already had “banner blindness.”
New Tattoo Artists Wanted For Berrge Tattoo Studio. To Apply, You Have To Fill In The Qr Code Carefully!
Do you guys not realize that the picture of the magazine is one that someone filled out and is then scanning? The ad didn't come with it filled and the second picture at the bottom is for showing off the ad, not what would be printed.
Good thing they made an ad with the whole thing already filled in and even the email address to skip qr code scanning altogether
I still don't know how to use these QR code things....I know what they do etc,I've taken photos of them(if I get to photo them in time,TV ads usually only give a few seconds to scan them,by the time I've unlocked my phone and switched to camera app it's too late 😆)...I now have a collection of QR pics too 😆
Consider them abstract art?

Band Aid: Flexible Fabric
Cool idea, but there would have inevitably been some nerd to cry out that his childhood was "ruined" by the Hulk having a band-aid...
Load More Replies...I made a fake video commercial for a project once and we had a gladiator with a gruesome wound (yes, ketchup!) and a close up revealed he had used a “Barney” Bandaid. The little purple strip inadequately covered the blood and gore. “If you’ve got a wound like I do, do like I do. Barney bandaids. When it REALLY hurts.” Not great but it got a laugh.
Poor Hulk, can't even get a plaster in his own skin tone. (I hope this is taken as light hearted, I am happy to be 'woke')
I was going to say the same thing.
Load More Replies...I don't get it. The Hulk is indestructible, immortal and has a healing factor. Literally the last thing that would ever need a plaster. So they are advertising that that are utterly useless.
they do come in various tones, colours and designs...I would imagine the Caucasian tone was used to contrast between the concept of the "green" skin tone of the Hulk to reflect the stretching of the band aid as opposed to any biased outlook or unconscious biases
Load More Replies...Further studies into the topic have found that a staggering 93% of ads go unviewed even when directly in front of the user. Add in the prevalence of ad blockers and similar technology and one begins to wonder if anyone has actually ever viewed an internet ad. This, unfortunately, is probably the reason so many banner ads are aggressive, loud, and deceitful, as they need every trick in the book to get you to look for more than a second.

Load More Replies...Interestingly, this number will likely be even lower on sites that you frequent. Once you are familiar with a digital “environment,” your eyes simply know where to look and what to ignore. In other words, your brain collaborates with your eyes to make a deeply effective form of ad blocker. Somewhat nice to know that multimillion-dollar campaigns can be disrupted by your brain on autopilot.

Despite copious research and the ability to see, in real-time, what generates clicks or not, some companies still seem to think it’s acceptable to run terrible, annoying, and ineffective ads. Studies have shown that using specific calls to action, like “click here” or “sign up now” has practically no effect on the user's actions.
Silberman's Fitness Center
"Obscene To Some. Beautiful To Us."
This ad is from Queer Lisboa, the Portuguese Film Festival dedicated exclusively to screening gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and transsexual themed films, a genre known as Queer Cinema | Agency: Fuel Lisboa
I can't tell if bp censored them but I think that's part of the poster
The pixels are part of the ad. There are more posters with different couples, and all of them have pixels.
The fact that some people genuinely thought that bp would censor this shows how hard hitting the ad is because this is a real thing we see and come to expect. There's no difference between women kissing and a straight couple kissing but some people just can't get that yet.
I don't want to see anyone making out in public. Regardless of whom they are.
DHL: The Fastest Express Service
In the same way that a brilliant ad can make a pretty regular company stand out, a terrible ad can tear down its reputation independent of how we feel about its products. There is no shortage of ads so annoying that many of us promise ourselves that we will simply never use these products out of spite. Research shows that annoying or distracting ads actually generate negative emotions in the average user.
McDonald's: Open 24 Hours

More And More Cyclists Are Being Injured In Streets And Roads
Many, many cyclists are killed each year by distracted drivers, and it has nothing to do with them wearing lycra or not, despite what the comments in this thread suggest. Please, please drive responsibly, don’t drink and drive, and don’t text and drive.
Thabk you! I feel like this post just declared open season on cyclists. Yes many a******s ride bikes. But this is a distraction from the real issues.
Load More Replies...Some cyclists (depending on part of the world) are reckless. I have witnessed bicyclists run stop signs and red lights, go at ridiculous speeds on trails and walkways nearly running over people. I have even seen other cyclists yelling at these maniacs. Problem is is that is not regulated.
Bad drivers: kill people and cause massive crashes. Bad bikers: annoy car drivers and possibly injure themselves/dent a car
Or they injure my horse while I'm on a bridle path, then take off because they know they can't be identified. The owners (be it an animal or a car) are stuck with the bills.
Load More Replies...they should implement registration of bicycles, so they have to mount license plates on their bikes.
Agreed, they should be held accountable. How riding 2/3 abreast holding up traffic is environmentally friendly baffles me. I am a bike rider, car driver and motorcyclist, I'm just not a selfish tw@t who thinks he's better than anyone else.
Load More Replies...We have nice and clear dedicated bike lanes and cyclists always still nearly run into me (pedestrian) on the sidewalk while making no effort to ring their bell when coming from behind.
Cyclists must work to be SEEN by drivers. Please don't complain that a driver did not treat you right if you insist on wearing black at night and have no lights on your bike! This is pretty common in parts of the US where bike lights seem to be virtually unknown. No reflectors are NOT enough.
To those that complain of cyclists, how many know your state laws? Probably only a very small amount. How many know that without Cyclists, America would not have paved streets. In Florida, if the lane, not road, is less that 14ft, cyclists is primary lane owner. Again, in Florida, a cyclist has some rights and obligations as non human powered traveler, by LAW. FSL 316.083 and 316.2065 Know the laws more than your opinions. If a truck runs over a mini cooper because it was too slow or small, would that be acceptable?
Alot of them are jerks - the bicyclists I mean. They act like they are better than drivers or something. It might be a good idea to bring this to their attention so they can be more careful on the roads - share the road guys and be considerate of everyone.
Nearly every one of the accusations against cyclists can be applied to motorists. However motorists are in the majority backed up by thousands of pounds of death-metal and in car centric cultures: might makes right. The plate and insurance on your car does nothing to prevent car crashes. Riding two abreast on bikes is universally permitted. If a cyclist is passed by a trucker within inches they probably will get yelled at. As a cyclist I am equally disturbed by wrong-way bikers, those who won't utilize the roads and bikeways lawfully and the new threat of 28 mph e-bikers on the sidewalks. A cyclist is a blip on the screen of passing motorists while cyclists are surrounded by distracted travelers convinced of their skills to simultaneously text, drink coffee and play with their sound systems. If drivers tuned into the absolute disparity between the two lawful transportation modes they might be astounded at the similarities and differences.

yeah, I'll take anything over "buy our sh!t today are you will die in your sleep!"
Load More Replies...Particularly in online advertising, the user's preconceptions about the brand are possibly the most important part. Because online ads are more intrusive than traditional ads, which we tend to think of as simply part of any inhabited area’s decor, they create stronger emotions. So seeing the ad of a brand we like, just reminds us that it exists, while the inverse is just as true.

Harry's Bread: Nice And Soft
to be fair I Have done this, it was warm, soft and smelled good,I just laid my head on it for a joke and bam! was actually out
Of course, this does all create fertile ground for smart and creative advertisers. Most of us could probably think up a bog-standard ad in our heads right now, so a more “out-there” ad might actually catch our eye. Similarly, as the average ad now is ignored and disregarded, anything that does appear interesting to us is likely to hold our attention for longer.
