Wear A Ring While Traveling
Whether you're married or not, travel with a wedding ring on. It needn't be pricey, just a dummy to convey that you aren't single and traveling alone. Unfortunately, some men will respect an imaginary man more than the lady standing right in front of them.
Everything you said is so true. I have a jewelry addiction, so I usually wear 2-3 rings at any time. I have used this trick SOOOO many times. It even works on pushy sales people. "Oh, I'd love to learn more about timeshares/solar panels/used cars/ etc but my ~husband~ handles all of that, bye 😘."
Had to do this working at a gas station. The number of creepers is astonishing
Doesn't always work. Some men still hit on a woman with a wedding ring on, same thing happens to men who wear wedding rings, women will still hit on them
And look into the custom of the place you're going. It does no good to wear a fake wedding band on the fourth finger of your right hand if everyone expects a married woman to wear a wedding band on the second finger of her right hand. Or if wedding bands are always gold. Or if an engagement band must be worn with it.
As far as I know, most English-speaking cultures wear the wedding & engagement rings in the 4th finger of the left hand, not right. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Of course the custom is different in many areas, but the suggestion is a good one!
Load More Replies...Buy Men’s Products
Certain things cost less and function better when purchased in the men's section. For instance, men's razors are cheaper than women's; the only distinction is that they aren't pink or purple, which, apparently, improves the shaving experience (it doesn't). Often it's just the scent and the packaging that differs, yet the product is the same.
I use men's deodorant exclusively these days. Old Navy, to be precise :)
I know, mens razors, deodorant anything. Too bad there aren’t mens pads and tampons, cuz they would probably be a hell lot cheaper and more effective 😂.
Load More Replies...I recently used one of my husband 's spare razors. I'll tell you, it's smoother and more efficient. No way I'm going back for the women's one.
There is a whole section of business economics based on whats known as the razer and blade methodology. To paraphrase basically you sell the device at a loss and price hike the consumable. Most razer packages sold have blades more than 50 percent less than the package of blades. Printing companies do this with their ink and printers. It's disgusting but let's hit them where it hurts and be educated consumers as for a tampon/pad pricing hack online sales through the manufacturers website tend to be significantly cheaper than at the shops. This varies on brand but some countries have already started subsidising these necessary products hopefully more follow if we stick together we can change the world fellow bored pandas don't give up hope
As a man with very harsh stubble I prefer to use a woman's razor when I shave because the bigger moisturizing strip helps prevent razor burn on my face.
I thought the same. But once bought a woman's razor. Until then I always cut my leg but eith that pink I didn't. I don't know why, they are must be the same. For about three yrs I have used safety razor btw, I love it.
AB1287 passed in California so as of January 1st the "pink tax" is pretty much illegal here.
For the shavers in the pic, there is literally some extra pieces on the top by the blades, and the handle has a thicker hold that is likely textured on the other side where your thumb goes that has a softer material for comfort. Those two men vs female razor was bad example for "pink tax". You can literally get super cheap pink female razors if you aren't picking out specifically the fancy razors. Some female razors even have like a bar soap type thing by the razor area, I love those ones and will pay extra for the fancy add ons. Don't know much about deodorants, I use a dial roll on antiperspirant from the dollar store that is better than any deodorant I have ever had and is the only deodorant I have used in the last five or so years, but I'm sure there might be a difference in perfumes in female ones or product or something.
Carry A “Home Alone” Card
If something happens to you, this card will tell people that someone at your house (be it children or pets) can't fend for themselves and is relying on you to return. Simply note on the card who to contact to arrange for your child's care until you can make it back home.
I was hospitalized because of my heart while my spouse was on a TDY. I didn't have my phone with me. I begged anyone who came into my room from the hospital to go let my dog out and feed him. At that point I didn't care who was in my home. I just wanted my dog to be taken care of. I was released 3 days later. My dog was ok but traumatized. I now have a plan and a key available in the event of an emergency.
I like this idea, but I'd be terrified of losing my keys, and then whoever finds my keys then has my family member's phone number :(
Where I am the number is for an organisation that holds your data. So it's not on the keychain card, people call the organisation and that organisation calls your emergency contact.
Load More Replies...I had a card with this, emergency contact and the meds for my dog in my case and the list if meds taped on her food container
Thread Jewelry Through Straws
Prepare for your upcoming vacation by threading your chains through straws and fastening the clasp. This will make unpacking much less frustrating and prevent your jewelry from getting tangled.
Put Clumpy Mascara In Hot Water
Simply submerge the mascara tube in a cup of hot water and let it soak for a few minutes if it is beginning to clump or dry out.
NEVER put mascara in your microwave. It cost me one microwave to learn this.
I just chuck it under my boob when I start doing my makeup, and then take it out when I am ready for it. Works perfectly.
Pack Shoes In Shower Caps
Putting your shoes in a bag without getting your clothes dirty is one of the many concerns of packing a suitcase. Use shower caps to neatly wrap your shoes, making them ready for packing.
Actually a brilliant idea! Now, if I only had somewhere to go on vacation XD
I put mine in a plastic grocery bag. I have so many of them plus I also bring extra so I can put my dirty clothes in them.
My dad had a similar thought, putting a shower cap on the tops of his gumboots to keep the spiders out when storing them outside :)
Keep Money In Your Phone Case
You'll always have some emergency cash on hand if you keep some money between your phone and its case. However, don't use this hack if you have a clear phone case, as it can lure pickpockets.
I have bills and cards in my phone case... I only need my keys and am ready to go
I work at a casino, the number of people who lose their phones on a daily basis is ridiculous. If someone who is less honest than others will definitely not turn in the phone to security and will more than likely steal whatever they find in the case.
Because your phone is always with you, while your jacket might not.
Load More Replies...Turn Your Preferred Beverages Into Ice Cubes
Pour the desired beverage onto an ice tray and freeze it to keep your drinks chilled without watering them down. For instance, you may use frozen coffee cubes to make iced coffee.
Because we are the only ones who know how to refill the ice trays
Load More Replies...I have had this at a restaurant when I ordered ice tea, they made ice cubes from tea to prevent watered down tea when the ice melts. Great idea!
This is brilliant! My ice coffee would taste so much better! Oh, I can used condensed, sweetened milk and have a cold Cuban coffee!!
Keep Bobby Pins On Magnets
Bobby pins have a weird habit of disappearing, much like socks in a dryer. Consider sticking them to a magnet. This way, your bobby pins will stay in place and be easy to find.
Spaghetti To Light A Wick That’s Too Far Down To Reach
You don't have to bin your favorite candle just because it has burned down to the wick. Use a piece of uncooked spaghetti for those harder-to-reach candles as a very long match.
It smells a bit like burnt toast when you do this though, because of the flour/wheat component of spaghetti. It works, just be aware of the scent
Put the flame out under water instead of blowing it out
Load More Replies...This is a great tip for relighting your water heater as well, or pilot lights on stove etc
Why not just keep a supply of long matches on hand? Burnt spaghetti smells like — well, burnt spaghetti.
Because not everyone can afford to keep long matchsticks on hand, but MANY people make spaghetti, and so they have the pasta already on hand--- and for MUCH CHEAPER!
Load More Replies...You're not supposed to burn candles when they get too low - it's dangerous!
I've had a few explode from getting too low, glass everywhere
Load More Replies...Or get an electric lighter and never have to buy matches. Even better if you get one that bends. I have something similar to this and I'm obsessed with it https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FFWCWNG?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_34DC31WQHEF32CDAVNT3
Fixing Zipper With Soap Or A Chapstick
Even the most collected person can become anxious if their zipper gets stuck. Try to unfasten the zipper by rubbing soap over it first. If you are on the go, apply chapstick. It will function like a soap bar thanks to the waxy material.
I wish I had read this 7 hours earlier. When I got stuck in a sports bra......
As does beeswax--- leather workers do this to help their needle slip through the the leather easier.
Load More Replies...Or a crayon. I carry a basic color set, so it doesn't stain my clothes.
Why not? ANYTHING manmade can fail, no matter how much it cost. Just sayin'.
Load More Replies...Shave With Baby Oil Or Hair Conditioner
Shaving cream can be substituted with baby oil for a lower cost and more hydrating result. If you don't like baby oil, you can also use conditioner in place of shaving cream. Your skin will still feel silky, and you'll get the same glide.
Baby oil is harder to clean out of the stacked blades so I use conditioner. Use the time it soaks in your hair to add some to your skin and shave. Time saver, too.
Once i stopped shaving my legs the hair stopped growing in. It's been about 3 years and i have approx 2 hairs near ankle which i do trim off with an eyebrow trimmer when wearing dresses. Before this i used hair conditioner, it makes skin feel great!
I use hair conditioner and have not gotten razor burn since, shaving cream would always leave my legs in pain.
Mark Keys With Nail Polish
We've all encountered the scenario where we can't recall which key fits the lock we need, so we try them all. To avoid the fuss, distinguish your keys with different colored nail polish.
Might like to add a drop near the lock as well, so that you don't have to remember which colour goes where 🙃
I do this, my apartment door is gold, my mom's front gate is a dry rose and her front door is rose, a d those are the ones I need color coded 😅
Make A Medical Card
Create a card listing your food allergies and drug sensitivities in case something occurs to you while you're out and about. This is especially useful if you carry any emergency medication and want others to know to look for it in your backpack. You can also make similar cards for elderly family members with diabetes or other long-term conditions.
And if it's locked? At any rate, people won't check the phone as quickly as they would a wallet or Medic-Alert jewelry.
Load More Replies...People tend to look for medication before they look for a medic-alert card. (That's the beauty of the medical alert jewelry - it's visible.) Keep a note or write on the medicine container where the card can be found. And if you do have a life-threatening medical condition, consider the medical alert jewelry.
DIY Jewelry Cleaning
Your jewelry should soak for about five minutes in a solution that contains one teaspoon of dishwashing soap and warm water. You can use a soft toothbrush to scrub it afterward. Also, you may use a toothpick to get the dirt out of hard-to-reach spots.
Just be cautious with costume jewelry because soaking in water can sometimes loosen the glue holding the stones in. Some gemstones can be ruined if soaked, as can opals, pearls and amber. Soft toothbrushes can damage some types of jewelry. You should either ask a jeweler or Google to see how to clean specific jewelry before you clean it.
A really cheap Ketchup, with a half spoonful of salt will clean copper, including pennies. Thought I'd throw that in.
Hand dryers when out and about make my rings sooooo shiny...though we are now hearing hand dryers are gross.... I.just.cant.help.myself...
Buy Men’s Shirts
There is virtually no reason to pay more for a plain t-shirt just because it hangs in the women's section. Regarding clothing staples such as t-shirts, often there is little difference between men's and women's. Yet, men's clothing is often cheaper than women's.
There is a bit of a difference for some styles... women's shirts are often fitted, womens tshirts don't seem to strangle the neck like a mans tshirt would....
By "strangle the neck" do you perhaps mean that it provides actual coverage ? Because almost all women clothes have giant v necks for no reason. Like my titties would be showing at all times if i don't wear a tank top under. Also hate that women's clothes are made to fit you like second skin, it's very irritating tbh.
Load More Replies...I'm a rather petite individual and I find men's clothing wears me more than I wear it so I unfortunately need woman's tops though sometimes tween sizes work well however I wish eternal death to the bellêňđ who decided women's trousers shan't have pockets that individual can kindly go do one.
I'm a man. It still doesn't fit right. It's cheaper because they're easier to make like that and men tend to not give a damn
Load More Replies...Depends on your size and style. For us hourglass folk, this will not work.
Almost every women's shirt I see these days is really thin see through fabric, it's even hard to find a women's sweater that isn't like that. Men's is most often better quality in the fabric, for the same price as the women's shirt that you need to layer 5 of to equal one
Women's tees have slightly lower necklines, shorter sleeves, and are pulled in at the waist.
I like how men shirts don't hug my every curve and broadcast my boobage to the world like a babydoll shirt does.
When it comes to t-shirts, I prefer men's or unisex. Better fabric and I like the look.
Put Bracelets On With Tape
When you try to put on a bracelet yourself, the chain keeps going around your wrist, making you feel like a dog chasing its own tail. Simply use tape to hold your jewelry in place as you work the clasp.
I'm as hairy as a werewolf on my arms. This would hurt like heck to rip the tape off XD
Oh god, I had this exact problem this morning! I eventually had to go and ask for help, it was so frustrating...
I read somewhere that you can use a half stretched paper clip to hold the other end. I think there are YT videos showing how it's done.
Load More Replies...What a waste of tape. Inner wrist facing you, drape the closed clasp on the bottom portion of the inner wrist, wrap around and use the open clasp to attach.
Rub Smelly Hands On Stainless Steel
Everybody has experienced having stinky hands after handling foods like garlic or onions. Fortunately, there is a straightforward fix: rub your hands on some stainless steel after cutting garlic or onions. This may be your faucet or sink — whatever fits! The odor will stick to the stainless steel, leaving your hands odor-free.
So why did l buy the fancy stainless steel soap bars when l could use any stainless steel? Duh
These should just be life hacks period, not womens, as many aren't specific to gender.
No, I don't think I want to rub bologna on my hands to get rid of onion or garlic stench. But if it works for you, then more power to ya. Peace.
Load More Replies...Ketchup works too if you can handle smelling like a hamburger for a bit after but stainless steel sinks work wonders!
I always used a lemon: rubbed my hands against a slice of lemon or lemon juice
Use Frozen Grapes To Chill White Wine
Frozen grapes are an excellent addition to alcoholic beverages, especially wine. They work perfectly well to cool the drink without watering it down. Also, you can eat them later!
Methinks if you have to be concerned about the sugar content of grapes, then you oughtn't be drinking the wine to begin with.
Load More Replies...Use A Hair Iron On Clothes
If you're in a bind and need to straighten your clothes but don't have an iron, you can use a hair iron instead. When traveling, this is especially helpful because you probably won't want to pack both.
Also nifty to straighten wrinkled ribbon. Make sure there's is no oil, hair spray, etc on the iron. A damp washcloth or paper towel will clean it perfectly
Get Your Pants Tailored
In terms of aesthetics, tailored pants can genuinely make all the difference. Depending on how well they fit, the same pair of jeans can make you look either sophisticated or frumpy.
Or just be a weirdo like me and buy men's jeans and men's cargo shorts and wear those XD They're cheaper than women's jeans and shorts, too!
This pair of trousers is lengthened as well. Was a 7/8 and became a full 8/8 in length.
I think the pants in the picture are actually two different pairs, as the colour is slightly different. I guess they didn't find a better picture
Load More Replies...Not the same pair of pants. The 'tailored' ones are magically longer.
Depending where you live, this can cost more than the garment itself though. I was amazed when my aunt said all her clothes are tailored, then I heard how cheap it was in the countries she was living in, compared to here. The closest I can afford is hemming my own pants, because I'm so short!
Getting your clothes tailored is a life changer if you're short (like me) or if you like to thrift your clothes (also like me) Properly fit pieces make a huge difference!
Store Money In A Chapstick Tube
Finding a secure location to store your money can be challenging, particularly if you're traveling. Keeping your cash in an unusual place, such as a tube of chapstick, is the best way to keep pickpockets from looting it.
I'm always losing my chapstick lol, I'd lose this one within a week 😆
I have a protip for Americans. Stop using cash and update your card payments technology. I felt like going to 18th century when I visited from Europe 🤡
Just make sure you got good enough pockets that everything don't always fall out of
Rings and small earrings can be pushed down to the bottom of a jar of moisturizer cream on your hotel room. No one is going to steal your Olay.
Break Shoes In With A Blowdryer
To avoid the pain and blisters, you can break in a new pair of shoes before you even wear them. Just put on some thin socks, put the new shoes over them, then blow dry them for several minutes. After you're done, let the shoes cool.
Never heard of this before and wish I'd known this hack with my last pair of sneakers!
The trick works best with leather, because it expands easily when heated. You may not be as successful with other materials, I am afraid.
Load More Replies...Why would you want to break your shoes? They literally can break when you heat the glue.
I used small hammer to slowly soften up the back of the shoes. It'll take some time so I won't ruin the shoes.
This has never worked for me. Maybe if I did it for a couple of hours, tho...
Use Hairspray Or Nail Polish On Tights
While we can't prevent tights from ripping, we can reduce the likelihood of it occurring. After you put on your stockings, simply mist them with hairspray. The fibers will be strengthened, decreasing their risk of tearing. Apply clear nail paint to the opposite side of the rip if your tights have already torn and you don't want the hole to get any bigger.
Actually it works _after_ you have a hole on your thigts. The nail polish (I have never tried hair spray) will dry on the hole and prevent it getting bigger. Good for emergency, then you go home and throw th away 😊
Wouldn't that make them sticky though? I don't use hairspray, but I've always thought of it as being pretty sticky 🤷🏼♂️
Stay Moisturized
One of the best anti-aging hacks ever is moisturizing. To be healthy, your skin and hair require the right amount of moisture. We advise moisturizing the hair at least twice a week and the skin (face and body) at least once a day, every single day.
Okay, climbing onto my soapbox here.... Ahem, me me me meeeeeee.... I agree with the moisturizing however if you can, please check ingredients first. There is so much 'poison' we put onto our bodies daily whether it be lotion, shampoo, etc. The cheaper the item, the worse it is but there are affordable 'clean' products out there. ... stepping down from my soapbox now ...
I applaud you, thanks for the accurate and truthful ted talk!
Load More Replies...If you find yourself dry, you need more true fats in your diet. No fake oils (soy, canola veggie or seed oils) that cause heart issues or Alzheimer and dementia. Stick with grass fed butter, fat from healthy meats, eggs, avocados and for those who tolerate it, coconut oil. I was the girl with dry hair and skin, brittle nails, adding real fats make my skin glow, my nails so hard they don't break, my hair is glossy (I don't use conditioner it now grows in glossy) and I keep getting people thinking I'm 25-26. I'll be 40 in a year ☺️ Cognitive function is wonderful now that my brain has it's needed fuel, I'm on no meds, a heavy weight (125-135lbs at 5'8") I sleep amazingly and my Endo disappeared. Tldr Remove junk, replace with human food. No more dry anything.
Petroleum jelly is inexpensive and the best moisturizer. Rub it in while your skin is damp and it keeps the moisture in.
I use olive oil right from the grocery store to Hydrate my body and face (and hair) and it costs way less than body moisturizers or facial creams AND have no additional toxic substances. I just use a tissue after a few minutes to absorb the excess oil. Helped me get rid of my dark circled around my eyes as well and gave me a smooth tuchas
In my experience you don't need all sorts of lotions and whatnot. You just need your daily water. It may take a longer time for your skin and hair to be well-moisturised but in the long run I bet it's healthier and cheaper to just drink your water. Every single day. It also helped me with my skin problems a lot. Acne is a b***h. But the right amount of daily water did the trick for me back when I was good at being healthy. I will be again... it's my goal for 2023. 😁
I like to make a sugar scrub with honey and a tiny amount of grapeseed oil (oils in sugar scrubs can make your bath dangerously slippery) sugar is a fantastic exfoliator, honey is a humectant and anti bacterial properties, and grapeseed oil has a good concentration of vitamin e and absorbs quickly into the skin.
Keep A Toiletry Bag In Your Car
Even if you never need to use your toiletry bag, keeping one in your car will offer you a sense of security. This life hack is worthwhile because it gives you peace of mind knowing that you can easily access all of your necessities whenever the need arises.
I always have a 'get home bag' in my vehicle and it includes a toiletry bag. I live out in the boonies so driving out in the middle of nowhere, I make sure I'm prepared for the worst.
I have a similar bag in my car. Where I live it gets really hot or really cold and very little nice weather. But, I keep a cheap pair of zenni prescription glasses, contact solution + case, floss, tweezers, aspirin, lint remover, safety pins, deodorant wipes (sticks melt), wet ones, paper napkins, reusable straw, reusable plastic ware and I also have a first aid kit, tourniquet, medical gloves (in case I roll up on an accident and someone is hurt), sharp knife, a leash (in case a see a dog that needs help) and leash can also be used for other things and a kitchen sized garbage bag. Oh and jumper cables. It seems like a lot but its fits where you don't even notice it. My car is very tidy.
I keep one in my car, work tote, purse, and "mommy backpack". Each one has lotion, chapstick, bandaids, safety pins, hair pins, aspirin, Kleenex, sanitizer, wipes, and a tide pen. They are a life saver! I love not having to worry if I have the necessities and not having to move a bag around.
Since I read Cujo, I always have some food and water in my car. And phone charger. 😀
um. if you live where it's winter 8 months of the year the soaps will expand as they freeze and make a mess
It's the opposite where I live. The inside of a car can routinely get above 120°F. Many common toiletries will melt and make a big mess. Other things you can't leave in the car paperback books because the binding glue melts, and closed cans of carbonated beverages and disposable lighters. They will explode.
Load More Replies...I did that on the wave of excitement after getting a Jeep but never used it xD
Remove Gum From Hair With Ice
If you ever fall prey to the cliche of getting gum caught in your hair, you can freeze the gum using ice cubes to remove it. Simply hold an ice cube on the gum for five to fifteen minutes or until it hardens.
Do you remember the scene from the Simpsons when Lisa had bubblegum in her hair?
If it's a really big, tangled disaster and ice won't do, work peanut butter into the snarl. The oil in it makes the gum slide out. Tried and true.
Mayonnaise, peanut butter, or oil. When I was 12 a kid on the bus I wasn't on good terms with put gum* in my hair thinking that it would force me to cut it. Now, of I had told my mom about it she would have cut it because she was not the brightest... I knew not to tell her, and instead used mayonnaise like a science vid I watched suggested first when I went to take a shower. Came out like a dream. Later when my toddler brother got gum in his hair and I came back from school, his head was shaved 🥲
It won't work with hair but it is good for gum on clothes. (The hair will go _inside_the gum, so how do you get it out?
Second this. I helped a friend get a gum out of a friend's hair in college using peanut butter and got it all out with no damage to her hair. It did take me a couple of hours since I was being very gentle so her hair wouldn't break.
Load More Replies...Olive oil works better. It breaks down the gum and instead of ripping some hair out, it slides right out with a simple comb.
Use Dryer Sheets On Deodorant Marks
While wiping deodorant marks with water works occasionally, it doesn't work on all colors and kinds of fabric. To remove the deodorant stain, try rubbing a dryer sheet over it. If there aren't any dryer sheets available, you can gently rub the item's cloth together. However, as it may stretch or wrinkle the fabric, this should only be used as a last option.
I just had this experience on new years. I used the inside of the sweater and it worked way better than I thought it would.. I have known for years that rubbing panty hose on the deodorant mishap works great too.
And I'm allergic to fabric softener in all forms... Will have to "stick" to rubbing things together.
Load More Replies...Dryer sheets also help with the dust on computer monitors and TV screens.
Load More Replies...Use Velvet Or Silk Hair Band
Luckily for all the Rapunzels out there, scrunchies have made a comeback. Unlike traditional elastic hair ties, scrunchies don't pull the hair out. Also, they are unlikely to leave any marks afterward. While the best option is silk scrunchies, they can get pricey (although they are absolutely worth the investment), so you could use velvet scrunchies instead.
Nooo, they just slip out of your hair meaning you spend all day tightening your ponytail?
Right?! Plus, I'm one of those people who gets a headache almost instantly if my hair tie is too tight/looped twice! XD If these scrunchies are so gentle, they'll absolutely fall out if they aren't looped twice :(
Load More Replies...I use spiral hair ties and they have worked well for me. They don't pull my hair out, while holding nicely tight during running for example. Plus - when they stretch at some point - 15 mins in hot water shrinks them back.
Oh, I didn't know about the shrinking part. Thank you!
Load More Replies...I make hair ribbons with silk backings. I love it. I don't care that its a bit weird. I enjoy making it too. 😁 They don't slip out and they stay in all day.
Use A Razor On Pilled Clothes
A disposable razor or an old razor you were planning to bin will get the job done just like an expensive fabric razor. Simply pull the fabric delicately and use a razor to shave off the pilled bits.
I did it few times and unfortunately cut my fingernail. I guess it worked a lot better than expected, be careful mates
I just bought a little device that does this and it's rechargeable and not expensive at all :) like 12 bucks on Amazon and I've had it a few years
this seems dangerous on so many levels! try a pumice stone! I actually found charcoal blocks that work well but the are kinda stinky! wash clothes inside out helps prevent pills. and helps it to not fade as quick. or buy a battery or wall sweater shaver. I saw them at the buck store in 2022.
Avoid Rust Rings With Nail Polish
Anyone with an extensive collection of toiletries is familiar with the nasty rust rings. Nail polish can also be used to avoid them. Simply apply nail polish to the bottom of the can or bottle to create a barrier between the toiletry and the bathroom's surfaces.
Faster, buy a plastic container and keep the cans together inside. Also easy to move to take out of the cabinet to use our clean the shelves.
On a single use can? Every single use can? Of everyone ever to drink in your appartement? Maybe works, but #notworthit
I think it's about cosmetics kept in the moist bathroom. It's a dry shampoo on the pic
Load More Replies...Always Cut Bottles In Half Before Binning Them
Simply divide the container in half and scoop the remaining toothpaste or shampoo out if you're having trouble getting the last bit out. Cutting a container in half will ensure that you use every last drop of each product and that you don't squander any money. But be careful when you do it!
I just put water in mine and shake it up to make it last longer...no risk of getting cut then
That will work for shampoo or body wash, but not for lotion or toothpaste.
Load More Replies...I have been cutting my bottles or tubes for years. It is incredible the amount of product still in the bottle. Example : when I dye my hair, a conditionner is coming in the box. By opening the tube, I can always condition an extra 3 times my hair, with what is left in the tube. Also what I do, especially with tubes I slide the cut top on the bottom part, and then it does not dry out in between usages.
I always do this. With ketchup, mayo etv also. Surprisingly big amounts left is these bottles
Use Dryer Sheets On Frizzy Hair
Dryer sheets come to the rescue once again! If none of your hair products seem to eliminate frizz or flyaways, place a dryer sheet on your hairbrush to eliminate static or flyaways and comb it through. This hack works because hair is negatively charged, whereas dryer sheets are positively charged, resulting in smoothed-down, tamed hair.
Need to find scent-free sheets to try on my poor granddaughter's crazy fine static-y flyaway hair!
Scent-free dryer sheets are not hard to find; they’re right next to the scented ones.
Load More Replies...This works because softener (which is on the sheets) is essentially conditioner. I wouldn't recommend it however. There's a lot in dryer sheet chemicals can irratate skin and affect the natural oils of your hair. Hell I wouldn't even recommend dryer sheets for their intended purpose. Dryer Balls rock, cheap, reusable and no sulfates/parabens etc
If you have static in your hair, that's also a sign of needing more hydration for your hair so either condition more or find a new conditioner or hair routine with less things like parabens and alcohols! Got this tip after literally shocking my hairdresser once lol 😆 bonus tip: curly hair (which I have) requires more hydration so it is more likely to have problems with frizz and static since many big box brands use ingredients that actually dry out your hair faster.
Put Pads On Underwear Before Showering
We are all familiar with the dreadful struggle to leave the shower while on your period as you race against time and gravity. There's an easy hack to avoid this. Before taking a shower, secure your pad to your underwear and place it on the counter, where you can reach it easily. This way, when you get out of the shower, your pad and underwear will be ready. Or, you can put it on while still in the shower.
I was a life long cup user until trying a reusable menstrual disc. It self empties and doesn't rely on suction. Life changed
Load More Replies...I'm assuming this is for someone who cannot or prefers to not use tampons? Because this is otherwise baffling as I just use a tampon while I shower, when I am on my period.
Yes i think so. I always use pads and discovered this 'hack' pretty early in my years
Load More Replies...I already do this, but remember to dry your legs and underwear area fast because a wet pad feels disgusting
Even when I bleed heaps of death and destruction I still have a few mintues from I turn off the water till it will even hint at being a problem with the bleeding. And I'm a person that needs to use the night pads non-stop for ca 3 days straight. Even on those days it's not a problem to get out of the shower. So... I may be ignorant to how much other ladies bleed.... but is this really a problem? Or is it just made up in some people's heads? I am genuinely curious
Use Ice Cubes On Wrinkled Clothes
You don't have to forgo wearing a particular outfit just because your garments are wrinkled and you don't have an iron. Instead, add two to four ice cubes to the dryer with the clothing and run it for around 10 minutes. The ice cubes will melt in the dryer, creating a steamer-like effect.
Or just spritz the clothes with a spray bottle...? Or sprinkle some drops of water on by hand? XD Why do we need to use ice cubes?
I put in a damp cloth, it works just as well to steam out the wrinkles.
Double Your Closet Space
Is there not enough room in your wardrobe? There probably is; you just have to know how to work with it. To double your closet space, add metal can tabs to your hangers and then hang another piece of clothing onto it.
I think if you would hang the second hanger directly on the first, (depending on the kind of hanger) it might tilt to much to the side?with the clip it hangs straight down
Load More Replies...Sadly, this only works with metal hangars, although it can also be used to sort your closet into outfits (hang the shirt with the pants/skirt on a separate hangar so that you don't have to worry about (much) ironing when it's time to wear like hanging both items on the same hangar would)
No. It actually doesn’t give you extra space. You still have the same amount of clothes taking the same amount of space
Sounds nice. But I've done this for years and always loose my shorts bc they're hanging lower
Use A Rubber Band For A Perfect French Tip
While you can purchase French tip stickers from any drugstore, you may also use something you already have in your household. Simply wrap your nail with a rubber band and apply the nail polish to the tip. However, only remove the rubber band once the polish has thoroughly dried!
Wouldn't painter's tape work just as well? You already have it for your bracelets.
I don't trust this.. it looks like it's going to be messy... do you know how long! it takes for nail polish to dry.!!!
Sit and hold the rubber band until it dries. Per nail. Yeah right
Load More Replies...The hole reinforcement stickers (the kind you find in the office section of Wally's for about a buck for a hundred) work great for this as well, as do the garage sale dot stickers (about the same price as the hole reinforcement stickers). And the great thing about the hole reinforcement stickers is that you can put them on over a base coat of polish and use the hole in the middle to either do simplistic or center your diy nail art...
I've seen people also use the round colored stickers that you find in the office sections of stores. They are round and give a nice crescent shape to the nail painting.
Open Jars With A Knife
Grab a knife instead of repeatedly beating the jar against the table, which is rarely effective and may cause fracture. You can open the jar easily by inserting the knife into the lid and pushing it up. You will hear a slight "pop" once the cap is ready to be opened. However, be cautious and never do it while holding the jar in the air. Make sure the lid is facing down the table when you do this.
I saw this recently and when I was having trouble with a jar at work someone mentioned it. Neither of us succeeded with a knife or a spoon.
Take anything thin and pointy. I ended up using a compass to open a bottle of paint at school and it worked as well
What? Never would i ever beat a Glas jar against anything!! I know i am strong in my Hands (But nowhere else) so this is not my problem but if i couldn't open jars frequently, i would buy for a few buck a Tool to open jars riskfree - i See a lot of potential with the knife too
You don't have to bang it hard at all, it's just for the lid to open and release air

Don't throw them out just yet. Instead, give your old, worn-out pumps a fresh look by upgrading them with fabric. Or you can even paint the heels of your shoes to create a bright statement shoe by adding a pop of color.
I tried this, but somehow no one believed that my ratty red-soled shoes were Louboutines. Maybe I shouldn't have tried it on muddy rubber boots.

Don't try to catch a piece of jewelry that falls into the sink. Covering the drain before your jewelry enters the pipes can significantly improve your chances of recovering it. You may also want to cover it with netting to prevent your priceless objects from passing through your drain, but still allow water to pass.
Obviously you've never washed your hands or hair with a ring on. Whether the ring is tight-fitting or not, soap and warm water causes the ring to expand and become slippery and can cause the ring to slip right off without you realizing it. The netting over the drain can also keep hair out of the drain, which can save you hundreds, if not thousands, on plumber bills.

It's a pretty common TV trope, they must have gotten it from somewhere.

Before your next trip to the mall, take measurements of all the relevant body areas and enter the data into your phone. While this won't replace trying things on, it will help you eliminate a lot of options, saving you time and frustration.
Ha. Ha. Ha. Whoever wrote this hasn't experienced women's clothing sizing. A size 12 pants in five different stores and five different brands will net you ten different measurements/sizes. Knowing your measurements won't help in comparing them against "standard sizes", as there are no standards and women's clothing options are batshit. XD
And we have to practically murder someone to get pockets
Load More Replies...Take measurements. Shop online. Always choose larger if you're unsure. Have pieces tailored to fit. Problems solved (Also, who is still going to malls? Lol. Didn't we realize how unnecessary they were during the pandemic? I refuse to wander about in search of clothing in the wild anymore. I am a "shop from the comfort of my couch" person now haha)
Coat Jewelry With Nail Polish
The nail polish will serve as a barrier, protecting against tarnishing and chipping of your jewelry. The nail polish will also help if you're one of those whose complexion turns green when wearing costume jewelry.
It's not your complexion that turns your skin green, it's the jewelry rusting.
Green is not rust. It’s the copper in the alloy. Some people’s skin ph causes the copper to oxidize more than other people’s. Or it could be moisturizer. (Yes rust is oxidation but iron alloy).
Load More Replies...My 14kt wedding ring turns my skin green. It's the acid in my skin, not the ring. No it's not fake. I've had it 31 years.
Make Candles Last Longer
To make your candles last longer, wrap them in a plastic bag and place them in the freezer for 24 hours before igniting them.
This is not true, and you run the risk of cracking the candle or the container that it's in. Just keep the wick trimmed properly if you want it to last as long as possible.
Yes, best rule of thumb is to always trim the wick to 1/4in before lighting. Having the wick too long makes the flame too large, which runs the risk of it melting a hole in the center.
Load More Replies...This has been debunked. Candles do not last longer if frozen before lighting.
I'm sad-amused at how many of these involve nails, nail polish, high heels, makeup, fashion/clothing, jewelry, skincare, and nylon stockings. I'm a woman and I don't really use (or like) any of those things. These aren't really practical or applicable to my life. I guess I'm a weird female, though XD
Well the chances of men having lots of nail polish, makeup, high heels, stockings and such are much lower than in women's case
