Wear A Ring While Traveling

Wear A Ring While Traveling

Whether you're married or not, travel with a wedding ring on. It needn't be pricey, just a dummy to convey that you aren't single and traveling alone. Unfortunately, some men will respect an imaginary man more than the lady standing right in front of them.

Everything you said is so true. I have a jewelry addiction, so I usually wear 2-3 rings at any time. I have used this trick SOOOO many times. It even works on pushy sales people. "Oh, I'd love to learn more about timeshares/solar panels/used cars/ etc but my ~husband~ handles all of that, bye 😘."

Doesn't always work. Some men still hit on a woman with a wedding ring on, same thing happens to men who wear wedding rings, women will still hit on them

And look into the custom of the place you're going. It does no good to wear a fake wedding band on the fourth finger of your right hand if everyone expects a married woman to wear a wedding band on the second finger of her right hand. Or if wedding bands are always gold. Or if an engagement band must be worn with it.

As far as I know, most English-speaking cultures wear the wedding & engagement rings in the 4th finger of the left hand, not right. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Of course the custom is different in many areas, but the suggestion is a good one!

    Buy Men’s Products

    Buy Men’s Products

Certain things cost less and function better when purchased in the men's section. For instance, men's razors are cheaper than women's; the only distinction is that they aren't pink or purple, which, apparently, improves the shaving experience (it doesn't). Often it's just the scent and the packaging that differs, yet the product is the same.

I know, mens razors, deodorant anything. Too bad there aren’t mens pads and tampons, cuz they would probably be a hell lot cheaper and more effective 😂.

There is a whole section of business economics based on whats known as the razer and blade methodology. To paraphrase basically you sell the device at a loss and price hike the consumable. Most razer packages sold have blades more than 50 percent less than the package of blades. Printing companies do this with their ink and printers. It's disgusting but let's hit them where it hurts and be educated consumers as for a tampon/pad pricing hack online sales through the manufacturers website tend to be significantly cheaper than at the shops. This varies on brand but some countries have already started subsidising these necessary products hopefully more follow if we stick together we can change the world fellow bored pandas don't give up hope

As a man with very harsh stubble I prefer to use a woman's razor when I shave because the bigger moisturizing strip helps prevent razor burn on my face.

For the shavers in the pic, there is literally some extra pieces on the top by the blades, and the handle has a thicker hold that is likely textured on the other side where your thumb goes that has a softer material for comfort. Those two men vs female razor was bad example for "pink tax". You can literally get super cheap pink female razors if you aren't picking out specifically the fancy razors. Some female razors even have like a bar soap type thing by the razor area, I love those ones and will pay extra for the fancy add ons. Don't know much about deodorants, I use a dial roll on antiperspirant from the dollar store that is better than any deodorant I have ever had and is the only deodorant I have used in the last five or so years, but I'm sure there might be a difference in perfumes in female ones or product or something.

I was hospitalized because of my heart while my spouse was on a TDY. I didn't have my phone with me. I begged anyone who came into my room from the hospital to go let my dog out and feed him. At that point I didn't care who was in my home. I just wanted my dog to be taken care of. I was released 3 days later. My dog was ok but traumatized. I now have a plan and a key available in the event of an emergency.

People tend to look for medication before they look for a medic-alert card. (That's the beauty of the medical alert jewelry - it's visible.) Keep a note or write on the medicine container where the card can be found. And if you do have a life-threatening medical condition, consider the medical alert jewelry.

Just be cautious with costume jewelry because soaking in water can sometimes loosen the glue holding the stones in. Some gemstones can be ruined if soaked, as can opals, pearls and amber. Soft toothbrushes can damage some types of jewelry. You should either ask a jeweler or Google to see how to clean specific jewelry before you clean it.

    Buy Men’s Shirts

    Buy Men’s Shirts

There is virtually no reason to pay more for a plain t-shirt just because it hangs in the women's section. Regarding clothing staples such as t-shirts, often there is little difference between men's and women's. Yet, men's clothing is often cheaper than women's.

By "strangle the neck" do you perhaps mean that it provides actual coverage ? Because almost all women clothes have giant v necks for no reason. Like my titties would be showing at all times if i don't wear a tank top under. Also hate that women's clothes are made to fit you like second skin, it's very irritating tbh.

Almost every women's shirt I see these days is really thin see through fabric, it's even hard to find a women's sweater that isn't like that. Men's is most often better quality in the fabric, for the same price as the women's shirt that you need to layer 5 of to equal one

Rub Smelly Hands On Stainless Steel

Rub Smelly Hands On Stainless Steel

Everybody has experienced having stinky hands after handling foods like garlic or onions. Fortunately, there is a straightforward fix: rub your hands on some stainless steel after cutting garlic or onions. This may be your faucet or sink — whatever fits! The odor will stick to the stainless steel, leaving your hands odor-free.

Use Hairspray Or Nail Polish On Tights

While we can't prevent tights from ripping, we can reduce the likelihood of it occurring. After you put on your stockings, simply mist them with hairspray. The fibers will be strengthened, decreasing their risk of tearing. Apply clear nail paint to the opposite side of the rip if your tights have already torn and you don't want the hole to get any bigger.

If you find yourself dry, you need more true fats in your diet. No fake oils (soy, canola veggie or seed oils) that cause heart issues or Alzheimer and dementia. Stick with grass fed butter, fat from healthy meats, eggs, avocados and for those who tolerate it, coconut oil. I was the girl with dry hair and skin, brittle nails, adding real fats make my skin glow, my nails so hard they don't break, my hair is glossy (I don't use conditioner it now grows in glossy) and I keep getting people thinking I'm 25-26. I'll be 40 in a year ☺️ Cognitive function is wonderful now that my brain has it's needed fuel, I'm on no meds, a heavy weight (125-135lbs at 5'8") I sleep amazingly and my Endo disappeared. In my experience you don't need all sorts of lotions and whatnot. You just need your daily water. It may take a longer time for your skin and hair to be well-moisturised but in the long run I bet it's healthier and cheaper to just drink your water. Every single day. It also helped me with my skin problems a lot. Acne is a b***h. But the right amount of daily water did the trick for me back when I was good at being healthy. I like to make a sugar scrub with honey and a tiny amount of grapeseed oil (oils in sugar scrubs can make your bath dangerously slippery) sugar is a fantastic exfoliator, honey is a humectant and anti bacterial properties, and grapeseed oil has a good concentration of vitamin e and absorbs quickly into the skin.

But, I keep a cheap pair of zenni prescription glasses, contact solution + case, floss, tweezers, aspirin, lint remover, safety pins, deodorant wipes (sticks melt), wet ones, paper napkins, reusable straw, reusable plastic ware and I also have a first aid kit, tourniquet, medical gloves (in case I roll up on an accident and someone is hurt), sharp knife, a leash (in case a see a dog that needs help) and leash can also be used for other things and a kitchen sized garbage bag. It's the opposite where I live. The inside of a car can routinely get above 120°F. Many common toiletries will melt and make a big mess. Other things you can't leave in the car paperback books because the binding glue melts, and closed cans of carbonated beverages and disposable lighters. They will explode.

Remove Gum From Hair With Ice

Remove Gum From Hair With Ice

If you ever fall prey to the cliche of getting gum caught in your hair, you can freeze the gum using ice cubes to remove it. Simply hold an ice cube on the gum for five to fifteen minutes or until it hardens.

Mayonnaise, peanut butter, or oil. When I was 12 a kid on the bus I wasn't on good terms with put gum* in my hair thinking that it would force me to cut it. Now, of I had told my mom about it she would have cut it because she was not the brightest... I knew not to tell her, and instead used mayonnaise like a science vid I watched suggested first when I went to take a shower. Came out like a dream. Later when my toddler brother got gum in his hair and I came back from school, his head was shaved 🥲

Use Dryer Sheets On Deodorant Marks

Use Dryer Sheets On Deodorant Marks

While wiping deodorant marks with water works occasionally, it doesn't work on all colors and kinds of fabric. To remove the deodorant stain, try rubbing a dryer sheet over it. If there aren't any dryer sheets available, you can gently rub the item's cloth together. However, as it may stretch or wrinkle the fabric, this should only be used as a last option.

Use Velvet Or Silk Hair Band

Use Velvet Or Silk Hair Band

Luckily for all the Rapunzels out there, scrunchies have made a comeback. Unlike traditional elastic hair ties, scrunchies don't pull the hair out. Also, they are unlikely to leave any marks afterward. While the best option is silk scrunchies, they can get pricey (although they are absolutely worth the investment), so you could use velvet scrunchies instead.

I have been cutting my bottles or tubes for years. It is incredible the amount of product still in the bottle. Example : when I dye my hair, a conditionner is coming in the box. By opening the tube, I can always condition an extra 3 times my hair, with what is left in the tube. Also what I do, especially with tubes I slide the cut top on the bottom part, and then it does not dry out in between usages.

Use Dryer Sheets On Frizzy Hair

Use Dryer Sheets On Frizzy Hair

Dryer sheets come to the rescue once again! If none of your hair products seem to eliminate frizz or flyaways, place a dryer sheet on your hairbrush to eliminate static or flyaways and comb it through. This hack works because hair is negatively charged, whereas dryer sheets are positively charged, resulting in smoothed-down, tamed hair.

This works because softener (which is on the sheets) is essentially conditioner. I wouldn't recommend it however. There's a lot in dryer sheet chemicals can irratate skin and affect the natural oils of your hair. Hell I wouldn't even recommend dryer sheets for their intended purpose. Dryer Balls rock, cheap, reusable and no sulfates/parabens etc

If you have static in your hair, that's also a sign of needing more hydration for your hair so either condition more or find a new conditioner or hair routine with less things like parabens and alcohols! Got this tip after literally shocking my hairdresser once lol 😆 bonus tip: curly hair (which I have) requires more hydration so it is more likely to have problems with frizz and static since many big box brands use ingredients that actually dry out your hair faster.

The hole reinforcement stickers (the kind you find in the office section of Wally's for about a buck for a hundred) work great for this as well, as do the garage sale dot stickers (about the same price as the hole reinforcement stickers). And the great thing about the hole reinforcement stickers is that you can put them on over a base coat of polish and use the hole in the middle to either do simplistic or center your diy nail art...

    Open Jars With A Knife

Grab a knife instead of repeatedly beating the jar against the table, which is rarely effective and may cause fracture. You can open the jar easily by inserting the knife into the lid and pushing it up. You will hear a slight "pop" once the cap is ready to be opened. However, be cautious and never do it while holding the jar in the air. Make sure the lid is facing down the table when you do this.

No, no, no. Smack the bottom of the jar a few times with your palm and twist and don’t stop twisting until it comes off. The continuation of force adds heat and energy to twist it off. People who bend metal with their hands use the same process.

I bought a simple plastic opening tool. The price was €1. I can open all lids with it.

No!!!!! A childhood friend severed tendons in her wrist doing this with a butter knife. Put the lid side of the jar under hot water, allowing the metal to expand then twist off lid with towel.

I saw this recently and when I was having trouble with a jar at work someone mentioned it. Neither of us succeeded with a knife or a spoon.

I always used the other end of the spoon or fork. Much safer

I'd suggest a butter knife, the handle of a spoon or fork, or a flat tip screwdriver. There are also grips you can get at the dollar store where I live. Additionally, there are jar opening contraptions you can buy on Amazon. Lots of options besides beating a glass jar!

Take anything thin and pointy. I ended up using a compass to open a bottle of paint at school and it worked as well

What? Never would i ever beat a Glas jar against anything!! I know i am strong in my Hands (But nowhere else) so this is not my problem but if i couldn't open jars frequently, i would buy for a few buck a Tool to open jars riskfree - i See a lot of potential with the knife too

You don't have to bang it hard at all, it's just for the lid to open and release air

    Upgrade Your Worn-Out Heels

    Upgrade Your Worn-Out Heels

Don't throw them out just yet. Instead, give your old, worn-out pumps a fresh look by upgrading them with fabric. Or you can even paint the heels of your shoes to create a bright statement shoe by adding a pop of color.

I tried this, but somehow no one believed that my ratty red-soled shoes were Louboutines. Maybe I shouldn't have tried it on muddy rubber boots.

Shoe repair places? I get my heels repaired, my suede brushed and the color refreshed. Good shoes can be helped along.

    Cover Sink Drains

    Cover Sink Drains

Don't try to catch a piece of jewelry that falls into the sink. Covering the drain before your jewelry enters the pipes can significantly improve your chances of recovering it. You may also want to cover it with netting to prevent your priceless objects from passing through your drain, but still allow water to pass.

Obviously you've never washed your hands or hair with a ring on. Whether the ring is tight-fitting or not, soap and warm water causes the ring to expand and become slippery and can cause the ring to slip right off without you realizing it. The netting over the drain can also keep hair out of the drain, which can save you hundreds, if not thousands, on plumber bills.

    Know Your Measurements

    Know Your Measurements

Before your next trip to the mall, take measurements of all the relevant body areas and enter the data into your phone. While this won't replace trying things on, it will help you eliminate a lot of options, saving you time and frustration.

Ha. Ha. Ha. Whoever wrote this hasn't experienced women's clothing sizing. A size 12 pants in five different stores and five different brands will net you ten different measurements/sizes. Knowing your measurements won't help in comparing them against "standard sizes", as there are no standards and women's clothing options are batshit. XD

Women's clothing sizing numbers makes no sense, except the rare few who do the sizing numbers by waist inches, just like in men's. But if you need a 34 inseam, good luck finding that at all in women's or men's if you're a 32 or less on the waist

Take measurements. Shop online. Always choose larger if you're unsure. Have pieces tailored to fit. Problems solved (Also, who is still going to malls? Lol. Didn't we realize how unnecessary they were during the pandemic? I refuse to wander about in search of clothing in the wild anymore. I am a "shop from the comfort of my couch" person now haha)

Give your partner a list of your sizes/measurements. It helps them in buying fits for you.

    Coat Jewelry With Nail Polish

    Coat Jewelry With Nail Polish

The nail polish will serve as a barrier, protecting against tarnishing and chipping of your jewelry. The nail polish will also help if you're one of those whose complexion turns green when wearing costume jewelry.

It's not your complexion that turns your skin green, it's the jewelry rusting.

Green is not rust. It’s the copper in the alloy. Some people’s skin ph causes the copper to oxidize more than other people’s. Or it could be moisturizer. (Yes rust is oxidation but iron alloy).

My 14kt wedding ring turns my skin green. It's the acid in my skin, not the ring. No it's not fake. I've had it 31 years.

    Make Candles Last Longer

    Make Candles Last Longer

To make your candles last longer, wrap them in a plastic bag and place them in the freezer for 24 hours before igniting them.

This is not true, and you run the risk of cracking the candle or the container that it's in. Just keep the wick trimmed properly if you want it to last as long as possible.

Yes, best rule of thumb is to always trim the wick to 1/4in before lighting. Having the wick too long makes the flame too large, which runs the risk of it melting a hole in the center.

This has been debunked. Candles do not last longer if frozen before lighting.
